Pay the price for luxury, get the mediocre stay.

Pay the price for luxury, get the mediocre stay.

The bill is laughable. For every night of room charge, there are 6 additional charges, one being 'a destination fee of 30 dollars per night'. On top of that, 2 additional tax items for the mandatory destination fee.

What does this 'destination' fee get you? 1) a discount at a mall nearby, where if you go and show you that you stay at Intercon, the answer is: sorry, we don't have vouchers available. When telling the Intercon concierge, she shurgged and continued reading her phone. 2) a bus tour or entrance at Ripley for 1 person. If you ask for the voucher, "the concierge has gone for the day".

As ambassador member, I was promised 1) a room upgrade (didn't get). 2) daily water (got one mini bottle the first day. The last day I asked for water, 1 hour later they hadn't still delivered). 3) welcome amenities (which was a sour pear and an apple). All with all, my bill ended up being 800 dollar for 2 days.

Ow, and breakfast for two. 35 dollar + tax + mandatory 18% tip, leaves you at near 90 dollars, and then only your day is about to start.

Also, a cocktail in their bar: 23 dollar which gets you a glass that is 50% filled with a huge cube of ice.

This is a total no go for me. I will not continue my ambassador membership. Bye bye Intercontinental.
