I love the nature trails out in this place, it's great to get out here and just take a walk and it's easy to get lost track of time. The areas are beautiful whether you're out in the open fields or deep in the woods and there's a few hidden trails out here that lead to some very interesting and unique spots. If I'm lucky, I'll catch a deer or a few other animals just strolling by.

Wonderful place for hiking and birding! They also have many great educational and family programs; great place for both kids and adults! (Please note the building is under construction/closed in early 2019, so check their website or call to confirm hours and building/bathroom access.)

We walk there frequently and yesterday was special because there were a lot of butterflies in the prairies. Saw monarchs, giant swallowtails, tiger swallowtails, black swallowtails and a number of smaller butterflies. Also saw a variety of bees and wasps including great golden digger wasps as well as sweat bees and great black wasps.

The Wehr Nature Center is one of the most accessible nature space in Southwest Wisconsin. With extensive boardwalks on it's 5 miles of trails, permeake pavers on walkways around the Visitor Center Handicap parking and entry, with an excellent viewing deck looking out over Mallard Lake. The Center offers many Educational Programs, for the youngest to those Young at heart. I invite you to come out and join me for: Maple Sugar Days, Apple Cider Sunday, Reptile Day. Check out butterflies, and bees, or what about the bats or the many birds that call Wehr their home. Enjoy a quite walk on the trails and invite your friends to enjoy this treasure.

Absolutely a jewel of south east Wisconsin. I can't say how much places like this need to be protected and cherished for future generations. Only bad thing I can say about this place is "little options" for bathrooms. Otherwise, highly recommended

Always a wonderful experience at Whitnall Park. Hiking around Mallard Pond, sledding at the golf course, cross country skiing, the waterfall...today my wife and I put the crampons on our feet, grabbed the camera and went hiking and got a few good shots.

Wonderful nature park covering over 200 acres. There are 5 miles of hiking trails which will take you through different habitat areas like wetlands and wooded areas. A stop at the visitor center will answer your questions on the plants and animals that inhabit the area. There is a small fee for parking, restrooms at the visitor center and an ampthetheater where talks are given.

It was beautiful and nice to walk around, see nature, but I got lost and the directions weren't really helpful, overall the trails weren't helpful and make you easily get lost, nice place but the trails are pretty horrible

The Wehr Nature Center provides the best 'nature' experience in Milwaukee County. There are multiple trails that cover everything from grasslands to wetlands. Over the years the trails (especially the wetland trails) have been improved significantly. The center offers many programs and clubs such as the Wehr Astronomical Society. Some of the trails might be difficult for handicapped but much of the area is accessible. Parking is close and plentiful (unless it is a very popular event like Bug Day or the Cider Festival.) The center is surrounded by Whitnal Park and so there is seldom any road noise distraction.

Over five miles of trails, that cover Praire, wetland, Savanna, and woods. Well worn trails and different trails make it an enjoyable experience. The trails are very barefoot friendly with some bark chips and stones that may be uncomfortable for some but overall a treat for your feet.
