I am happy to have this opportunity to share my recent purchase experience at Sunnyvale Toyota.
I live in Auburn, CA and Sunnyvale is a long way to drive to purchase a used vehicle,
however that turned out to be one of my better choices. I purchased a 2001 Dodge Durango from Sunnyvale Toyota. I viewed a zillion pic's of the Durango online and the Durango looked like exactly what I was looking for. So, I made arrangements with Sunnyvale Toyota to view the vehicle a few days later. I traveled to Sunnyvale and purchased the vehicle, drove it home to Auburn and enjoyed the ride. Oops. within the next couple of weeks I discovered some issues with my Durango that I did not notice upon purchase. ( as anyone who purchased a used vehicle lately knows, used vehicles are typically sold WITHOUT WARRANTY. I contacted Sunnyvale Toyota, Mr. Yama Topal the Sales Manager in particular and advised him of the issues I discovered with my recently purchased Durango. Mr. Topal was very congenial and listened to my issues as I described them. Mr. Topal requested that I make a list of the issues and obtain the the cost of repairs. I exerted NO PRESSURE on Mr. Topal to request this information. In order to be fair, since I purchased the vehicle with NO WARRANTY I conceded to Mr. Topal that if Sunnyvale Toyota would pay for the parts on a couple of issues and the full amount on the rest of the issues I would be good with that. Mr. Topal did not hesitate and asked me to submit the cost in writing and he would cut me a check. That is exactly what Mr. Topal did, exactly what he said he would. You cannot expect more than that. I am extremely happy with my Durango and Sunnyvale Toyota and Mr. Topal. I am now retired, however I was in the Appliance Sales and Service business for over 40 years and I have an understanding of business. One fact is that you cannot know exactly how all of your employee's conduct themselves in your behalf at all times. What is important though is that if your standards have not been met, you take steps to correct them. That is exactly what Sunnyvale Toyota and Mr. Topal did. I would recommend Sunnyvale Toyota to all my relatives and friends. Again, The purchase of my Durango from Sunnyvale Toyota is one of my better choices.

Took over 2.5 hours for a simple oil change when I had an appointment.
Sales people were very helpful especially Socrates. We liked the low pressure sales approach. The whole group was also very kind to our daughter which made the experience enjoyable.
sometimes the staff is not friendly and do not care to explain the work done on my car
When u get to Toyota Sunnyvale find Jeffrey, He will help you to get the right car for you really fast. I got my Corolla S 2013 in a less than 2 hours. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Kind people Nice service.
I've got a high quality professional assistance. The sales assistant was very passionate about cars. From him I've learnt so much during my test drives about nuances and trade-offs of different cars.
- UPDATED REVIEW -
I'm updating my review because the customer service here has gotten just plain terrible I'm so sad and shocked to have experienced service like this. I came in with a part for my car but the service people suggested I purchase the part from their internal store. I did. The part I brought in with me, I just left inside my car's cabin. When the car was returned the part I brought in was gone. Called over 10 times for compensation. Left voicemails. Even called the service manager. No help. No returned call. I will not be coming back here and would not recommend anyone bringing their Toyota here. Such a bummer to leave a disappointing review too. I expect mistakes to be done but to be handled in a professional manner. The lack of professionalism here is frustrating.

Long wait lines and can be confusing to know where to go. Also i can feel not taken care of because it can be a while until someone recognizes that u haven't been helped yet. However once you start talking to someone, the service is awesome! They are professional and know what to do to solve your car's problem. If you have a toyota, then u wont regret taking your vehicle here for service. My only complaints would be that they only do under the hood work. Any cosmetic stuff for your car can't be done which is a bummer. Lastly price could be a lot cheaper. Hard not to feel being taken advantage of.
The service center is excellent! They have a very polite and friendly crew! And I like that I didn't have to wait long for someone to help me when I first arrived! I will definitely refer them to friends!
One nail punch on tire, they change good tire and cost $560.00. Nobody listen when customer keep told them nail punch tire.they just do whatever they want. Make stupid mistake for simple easy job on brand new car.
Great facility with knowledgeable staff. We can't praise Ahmed enough, what a gentleman and friendly sales agent. We had a very pleasant experience and will tell friends and family to reach out to Ahmed for all their future car shopping needs. I would buy Toyota again just because our experience with Ahmed and Toyota Sunnyvale. Keep up the good work! :-)
I just bought a prius prime from Luke today. He did a fantastic job. Everything was smooth and efficient. Go contact Luke if you are looking for some good Toyota cars.
I bought a Prius 5 from Sunnyvale Toyota and Barat my salesman was great. He answered all of my questions and even stayed late so that we could get delivery of our Prius that same day. Thank you, Barat. You are great!
Fast (drop off in under 10 min, about 2 hrs to get it done, pick up in about 10 min) and friendly!
We had a great experience purchasing our new TOYOTA Camry LE ! It was our first time to be here, and all the people we encountered here were pleasantly friendly. Mr.Mo Naziry had given us a great price for used veihicles and the cars he showed us were beautiful. There was a large and appealing selection of vehicles to choose from, but somehow we decided to go for new car.He took initiative to bring Toyota new vehicle Place and He made us introduce Bobby Scott.
All during our shopping, Mr Mo Naziry was attentive to us and happy to answer all questions. We were very spoiled by him. But some how we could not make us our deal fina lso we came back!
Mr. Mo Naziry he was the only 'one' bring us back to Toyota Dealrship again otherwise we were looking used car at Craigslist!!!
We also enjoyed talking with bobby Scott too, he did his best whatever he could do ,From start to finish, we were in and out with our new experience There is no doubt we bought our New Camry LE 2018 , The whole effoerts goes to Mr Mo Naziry Great sales Person, great sense to read cusotmer mind.
One of the most painless auto purchases we've experienced. Would highly recommend!
We bought a certified pre-owned Prius C through John Ewell and Najaf Ali, and we had a great experience. It was all very straightforward. All of our options were explained clearly and transparently, and we drove off the lot with our newly purchased car in about 2.5 hours.
Very good dealership. The sales person SHAHIN was very gentle and good with the explication about the car. They have all the options. Overall very friendly, honest and helpful.
Prenay was excellent. From start to finish he was professional, informative, and got things done quickly without rushing the process. Good attention to detail.
The sales people at Toyota Sunnyvale were all friendly and professional. The financial people were very helpful too. They made what can be a stressful experience, not stressful at all. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.
Great Customer Service
Reisa Grimaldo provided excellent service facilitating my lease buy-out on a vehicle coming off of a lease. There is no way I would have completed the paperwork correctly on my own. She was knowledgable and efficient and probably saved me hours at the DMV fixing it. Thank you Reisa!
Dan
Jessica and Martin were incredibly helpful, facilitating my purchase during Covid and smoothing out the process even with the constraints of what we re going through. They were helpful, informative, and readily available to provide me with all that I needed to make a final decision. Thank you guys!
Horrible service ! Spoke with a Service Advisor about a recall letter from Toyota...and he seemed very irritated about answering questions regarding risks and timeframes to get he recall service completed. A few weeks earlier, got service done via a Service Advisor Asst manager - he wasn't there when I arrived to pick up the car. So, when I emailed him with my questions, he never answered back.
They are the only Toyota dealership that I use and it's impossible to print me a summary of my. Service charges for 2017. They didn't even have a replacement for the boken car tag frame. It was the free one they put on when I bought the car.
Not satisfied with the service for the price. They didn't change the air filter after 4k miles.
As a first-time car buyer, they made the entire process as painless as possible. The salesman I spoke with, Fred Moini, impressed me with his knowledge of the cars I was interested in, and was helpful from start to finish. My only complaint is that the used car lot is about 2 long blocks northwest from main office, and it is easily overlooked if (like me) you don't know where it is ahead of time.
I go here from time to time when i get a factory recall. I went here for service one time and they were charging ridiculous amounts of money to get service done.
Customer service is nice though and understanding.
5 starts for Jay Lu(Sales) and Sean Nguyen (Finance). It is really quick process and got to finalize everything within 1 day and the card is ready for pickup. If it is Toyota, my first choice would be Toyota Sunnyvale.
This dealership is very tricky and irresponsible sale person and service techs.stay away.some of the used car price are very high and cheat customer with hidden fee in the end.stay away if you are look for a used car. The staffs there are very rude
I give 5 stars for Mr Amir Kandil- Sales man at Toyota Sunnyvale.
Ask for him when you are looking for a new car. He is really good and friendly. Thanks for your time Amir Kandil
good selection. pretty straightforward sales process. we got a great quote, too. they did try all the standard car sales things, like trying to get you to buy car insurance through them (you cannot leave the place without insurance, so it is a good idea to make sure you can update your car insurance from your phone) and trying to get you to buy the extended warranty.
Had a very good experience with Billy. He did everything he could for us, and gave us a pretty good price for the car. Feeling apraciate with that. If you need to buy a Toyota, definitely need to find him.
We have owned a Toyota Corolla LE 2015 for 4 years now and I bought it at Toyota Sunnyvale. Bill Moody was my point of contact all these years and he has helped me get the best service every single time I have visited. He is polite, lends an attentive ear, is patient and ensures prompt delivery of service. His attitude of focusing on getting stuff done with no nonsense or fluff is one I really appreciate. We have returned happy every single time. I recommend Bill Moody highly and I think he is a valuable member of this service center.
I have had the worst luck with my new car but Stevenson in the service department has been a gem. He has gone above and beyond to not only help me with the car but getting on phone calls with cooperate Toyota and easing the entire process. Customer service was 10/10 and even weekend calls and texts to calm me down outside of his work hours. If you go there definitely ask for him and he will take care of you.
Fairly decent, but next time, going to Sears Auto, way quicker...
These 5 stars are for Omar - if you need service, ask for him! I have an old Tacoma and have rarely been happy with dealerships however Omar changed that- he understood that I love my truck despite its old age issues and treated me fairly. It was easy to get an appointment (same day!) and the service was done quickly. He also truly knew what he was talking about, described in detail what was happening and what was needed. I would bring my truck back to him at Sunnyvale Toyota for repairs anytime and strongly recommend if you need someone to trust and who knows his stuff, Omar's the guy.
Luke gave us by far, the best quoted price from all the dealerships I contacted in the bay area. Additionally, we never felt 'sold to' by Luke. He seemed very honest and forthcoming.
I wrote a review about my experience there 2 months ago and was well pleased then. Turns out that my car, (although not purchased from here), was totally a bad lemon. The issue they "fixed" on one side of the roof rack was happening AGAIN on the other side. MIND YOU THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. When I called to get things sorted I was passed around from representative to representative with people not wanting to take initiative. My first review stands as is of course. But even then I had to initiate all the calls, emails, escalation and it was truly a frustrating experience. I would 100% avoid this dealership and their terrible service.
Very sloppy at work. They did poor work and made me miss the warranty time. Now it costs about $4k to fix it. Also, It takes about 3 to 5 hours to do oil change during a week day.
Im just impressed at the service department. Went there as a walk in customer and I was greeted by a man in uniform and he assisted me promptly.
Check my car and gave me his honest recommendation. Never realized that the work would take longer so I had to leave my car.
Informed me by texting when my car was done.
Talk about customer service and satisfaction.
Thank you my service guy, Sonny!
Pretty good dealership, got Mirai there, they handled the rentals that come with Mirai lease, no problems.
John in particular treated me right from start to finish in the purchase of my new Camry. I am a very happy customer. Everything about my experience at Toyota Sunnyvale was first rate, A+, 100%, excellent.
I was 3min late to get my car, because I was queuing in the sales room and not at the garage 30 feets further on. The man said I'm too late, left me standing there and walked away ignoring me.
UPDATE: Maria was so nice and understanding the next day and gave a $25 discount. Thx! Update from 1 to 3 stars.
Smooth and hassle-free car-buying experience. Exceptional customer service from Jessica Wilson - prompt responses to queries, matching of quotes from other dealerships, her guarantee that the car I was interested in, would be there when I showed up to test-drive. Likewise, Sean Nguyen was equally professional, helpful and non-pushy in explaining the service/warranty options available and getting the paperwork done. This is what a car-buying experience should be like.
I really appreciate Richard from services going out of the way to help me. Richard was very helpful. Knowing that I recently moved to Sunnyvale he helped me all the process of transferring me to this dealership. I really appreciate his help. Commendable!
These guys took a lot of time to show one car. It was hot outside and we just stood in the sun while their representative searched for a specific color. He kept saying that it could be under process already and we may not get it. There was no clear direction of next steps and we wasted almost 4 hours without making a deal.
Great place. My pops works there. Such nice people. Always someone there to help with whatever you need.
Great place to buy car and very friendly people and great customer service
The sales are very nice. They are very patient for answering my questions.
The people here are awesome! They were upfront and honest, never pushed me to buy asap, and were patient with me as I gathered the documents for their new grad program. Big shout-outs to John Papas, Flora, Dan, and Roy for being fun and professional people.
Leanne is very helpful. She is courteous and never pressured us on anything. She gave us all the time we needed and yet always there when we needed something. Leanne went above and beyond her responsibility as a salesperson.
Impossible to get service from the service center. They tell you they ll call you back and never do. Otherwise just transfer you to voice mail
After visiting many many dealerships before I bought my tacoma, Sunnyvale Toyota and Jon were the ones that won my business! Jon is the man. He was helpful, not overly pushy and great to work with. I would highly recommend talking to Jon when you're in the market.
Terrance Hou was great from start to finish!! I found Toyota Sunnyvale online & he immediately reached out to make sure I had all my questions answered. Throughout the test drive process he made sure to understand what we were looking for & offered any insights as needed. I spent time across 4 different dealerships that day because I wanted to test drive a wide variety of cars. I was lucky to find Terrance at Toyota Sunnyvale because I also LOVED test driving the Camry Hybrid. We were actually in the market for 2 cars, 1 for my mom and 1 for me. We found a perfect 2019 Camry XLE on sale & he gave us a great price without having to go back and forth too much. I just regret that we could not buy that day since we needed to wait for my sister's assistance, & that commission likely went to a colleague. As long as you do your research ahead of time, know what price you want to pay and stand your ground, Terrance is super transparent and my parents wanted to come back to buy from him again.
precise, efficient, trustworthy are the best words to describe Toby. He got me the best deal on my prius (lowest within the bay area) and a great rate that would otherwise be impossible for me to get, given my status of being a new comer in the country.
He pays attention to detail greatly and notice things before I have to say them, the service is just top notch and makes people feel like buying a new car is not something you should be pressured into accepting everything a dealer throw at you.
Really bad service. Even not car wash after your service. Service advisor so rude and management on meetings when you request to raise a customer complaint.
Honest, friendly, and no pressure. I generally felt that Bart and Socrates wanted to help me do what was best for me.
We bought a car this weekend from Toyota Sunnyvale. This is our 3rd car in 10 years with the same dealer. Everything was up front, no supprise charge.
Phillip Loi is not only professional sales person but also friendly and knowledgeable with Toyota products. He helped us to find the car that we needed.
Thanks Phillip
I walked over to this dealership while I was having my car serviced at a nearby auto body shop. Within a few minutes of arriving on the lot, I was greeted by a friendly sales representative (Elmer). I had many questions (some repetitive) but Elmer took the time to answer all my questions. Everyone at this dealership seems very collaborative in addressing customer concerns. What I liked the most about my experience is that I didn't feel pressured to make a decision.
This Toyota dealer is very kind. And keep the promise well.
But at busy times, there is a slight mistake. So give 4 stars.
"Our Wonderful Experience At Toyota Sunnyvale!"
My Wife & I Purchase a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS.
Our salesman, Kalan H. was a pleasure to work with!
He answered all our questions. He even brought us water, including
our dog, Elsa! His manager, Jorge A took care of all of our concerns
without hesitation! In conclusion visit Toyota Sunnyvale for a pleasant
shopping experience!
Sincely, David, Chris, & Elsa too!
Got a KBB instant cash quote, which was dramatically changed when I stepped in the dealership. This was a bait and switch move, and a waste of my time.
Told me that my problem with my car was a bad key and tried to sell me a replacement key for $800 (that's not a typo). When I told them I was using the original key that came with the car, suddenly they had "miscommunicated" and now they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. Don't get your car serviced here.
Our sales rep, Jay C, was the best car sales person I have ever done business with. He was personable, courteous and wanted to ensure we had a good experience at Sunnyvale Toyota. After the purchase, we had to bring back the car to for some add-ons and Jay C walked me through every step. He even held my place in line to pick-up the rental car. He has unbeatable customer service. I will recommend him to anyone who is interested in purchasing a Toyota.
The service was quick and efficient, the service personnel were friendly and welcoming. Overall the facility was well maintained and clean, with the exception of the waiting area chairs.
We bought a used Sienna from them, and the experience was about as painless as it could be. We especially liked our salesman, Fred Moini. He was helpful, informative, and low-key, and never made us feel pressured. During the first visit we told him up front that we weren't planning on buying that day, but it didn't keep him from spending a lot of time with us. He remembered us when we came back 3 weeks later, and helped us find the right car. The actual sale process was relatively fast, and the finance guy didn't try to talk us into padding it with stuff we didn't need.
FWIW we'd bought a new car from them 10 years ago, and that was also a very good experience.
Went in for an airbag recall. They called in the middle of the service to say I had a leak and it would be $800. I have no such leak and someone took my quarters. Nice.
I have never had such a deplorable experience with a car dealership in my life. After looking around for a used car, I found a seemingly reasonably priced Camry Solara listed online. When I went to check it out, I was assured that it was quality checked and ran perfectly. I admit I may have been too trusting, but if a dealership says that a car is quality checked on 114 points and driveable, I feel like it shouldn t be naive to believe their claims. Anyways, not even 15 miles after driving off the lot, the check engine light appears. Ok, I say to myself, not a big deal, I ll just bring it back and get it fixed. So I go back, and they refuse to fix it. They said it was sold as is. I complain to the manager, and they tell me to bring it back next week to get it fixed. It doesn t seem like the safest thing to drive this around, but I obliged. Now, as I m driving home, I start hearing crazy clunky noises coming from the back of the car. At this point, who knows what this even is. Here s the scary part though, a few days later, the brakes give out while I m on the freeway. WORST MOMENT OF MY LIFE. I call Toyota Sunnyvale, and they say it isn t their responsibility and that it was my fault for ruining the car. Really?! They said they would still check out the check engine light, but they can t make any promises that they would even repair this. Their repairmen also work 9-5 M-F, which just happens to be my business hours for my job. So now, even if they would look at it, I have to take time off of work just to get it looked at without any indication that they would even fix it after they diagnosed it. Long story short, my car got towed for being parked for too long because I couldn t safely drive it, I had to pay even more money to get it back, and the resale value was crappy because it was a crappy car. Even worse, I m salty now. If you want to buy a used car, don t trust Toyota Sunnyvale unless you know cars and can do the safety check yourself. Given the demographics of people who shop there, I d say that wouldn t be a huge percentage of us. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere where they actually care about your safety.
Maria was my service advisor and she was awesome. Knowledgeable, fair, professional, helpful, courteous -- awesome experience.
Very professional dealership. Shuttle is convenient. Staffs are nice.
Not too impressed. We made an appointment for an oil change and were presented with a proposal for a "minimum requirement" of $650 worth of service. Poor marketing technique, people. In addition, we asked for two modifications to the on-board computer (that the manual says are available at the dealership). While we were prepared to pay for these modifications, we were told that they didn't really want to do them because we were out of the warranty period (we're at 96,000 miles). They did one and failed to do the other. The one not done was that the doubleclick required to unlock the passenger door can be changed to a single click.
I had booked a 3:30pm service appointment for today (July 8th). The appointment was booked on Toyota Sunnyvale's website on Wednesday of last week. When I came to the dealership at 3:15pm today, the Service Advisor told me that my appointment was scheduled for 2:30pm and because of that, my scheduled car service would not be possible today. I brought up the facts that my appointment was scheduled for 3:30pm and had Toyota Sunnyvale's website stated that the last same day appointment took place at 2:30pm, I would have scheduled the appointment earlier. I also pointed out that their website shows that the Service Department closes at 8pm on Monday when they actually close at 7pm on Monday. In addition to all of this, I noticed on the displays in the Service Department that show the list of all services being done that my appointment that was "scheduled" for 2:30pm according to my Service Advisor was actually showing up on the list as scheduled for 3:30pm. The list also showed that the Service Department had accepted 5 other walk in appointments while I was already there. Why accept 5 other walk in appointments if they claim that they did not have enough time to work on my car with my scheduled appointment? After about 20 minutes of me speaking to my Service Advisor about this in the Service Department, my Service Advisor managed to work something out where my car would be ready by 6pm today. My car was finished by that time today. I had to have my husband pick up my car for me because I was so frustrated with my experience earlier in the day. I will not be taking my Toyota to this dealership and will also encourage others to be wary of them when scheduling service there.
I bought my third car from here, and each time I was very pleased. The service is great. When I bought my last car I had a very good sales man by the name Kalani Hernandez, he is the best there is. He is very patient, thorough, and professional too. The finance manager Ken Costa is great too. I highly recommend this dealership.
Quick and amazing service! Never had issues and my car is well taken care of
Buying a used car is not a pleasant experience. A friend who was a former salesman at this dealer recommended Brenda Silva. It turns out she wasn't available because she had been promoted. Internal promotion of good people is a good sign. As a result I got to meet Kalani. He's a nice guy with a positive attitude and a sales second, customer first, approach. Toyota Sunnyvale had the best price in the bay area after a long search so they got my business. I purchased a used Camry and they didn't try to sell me the floor mats they did throw them in.
I purchased my Toyota Yaris in Toyota Sunnyvale. The saleperson Kelvin Alarcon helped me. He is very nice and patient. He worked very hard to make the purchasing process easier and is a good helper. Only thing I do not like is the dealer tried to sale many small stuff with the sale. It is not like when my wife purchased Honda Accord, it included the alarm. However, when I bought the Yaris here, I needed to pay extra 1,000 dollars for the same kind of alarm. Therefore, when you look at the documents, they will try to let you pay more and more for other things. Eventually, you will pay more than the listing price. Before you buy a car, be careful with these details on the documents. Read all the documents thoroughly with clear mind.
Jon Cha did not follow through on his appointment! I setup an appointment to test drive a car I already knew I was going to buy. I drove over three hours to meet with at dealership as scheduled. Not only did the sales rep not show up, I was informed the vehicle was sold the day before. The sales rep made no attempt to discuss this detail so we could cancel and not have me drive that 6 hour trip. The management staff also seemed lost about the whole situation. Very unorganized team!
Vinod Kumar was excellent in sorting us out with a car that fits our need perfectly. He calmly took us through the process of seeing a few cars and test driving. The sale was smooth, did not take too much time, and follow up was great. Would definitely recommend Vinod and Toyota Sunnyvale if you are looking for a used car!
Little did I know when I was researching my new Tacoma, that I would have such a truly exceptional experience. Living in Southern California, all the dealerships nearby were wanting an arm and a leg for new Tacomas. With how little of them there are being built, nearly nowhere was offering deals on these. Most dealerships were even charging thousands over invoice. I stumbled upon a Toyota forum one day where people were discussing the deals they got. I came across one recommending
David Garske from Toyota Sunnyvale. I decided to email him and see what kind of deal he could get me. As the forum post said, he said he would honor the deal for me as well and so the process began. David was unable to find the vehicle I wanted anywhere in California. So what did he do? He special ordered one for me! The deal David offered me was too good to pass up and was around 5k-6k cheaper than what I would be paying in Southern California. Finally I received the email that the truck of my dreams was ready and I began my 6-hour trek to Northern California. As soon as I got there, David was ready and waiting for me. He was aware of the long drive I had just completed and we got right down to business. While David was giving me a test ride of my new truck, they were pricing out and completing the details on my trade-in. David got us in and out quickly. This was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had in my life. David not only sold me my new truck, but he also sold my fiancee on her next new car. We will GLADLY drive up to see David again for his truly exceptional customer service. I cannot thank him enough!
Amir thinks of every way to help clients to find the best car fit their needs.
He responds to emails very fast, and give the best price he can get.
Luke is very kind and nice sales person. He is patient to the customers. He could think of the needs of us.
Worst customer service ever. I had inquired about a 2018 Camry, white for the wife. Told them I was driving 2.5 hours and wanted to confirm they had it in stock. They said they did, I drove there, they kept me in a room for an hour and they lied saying they would try and find a white one for us. They will say whatever you want to hear just to get you in the door. Dishonest people. Now I see why everyone hates car sales men.
