Got ripped off on the price, paid for premium exte...

Got ripped off on the price, paid for premium extended warranty which apparently covers nothing and the car is a lemon. Had to get it towed (3) times in the first year and half. I don't recommend working with the sales department or this business.

Updating Review:

Purchased a vehicle for my 16 year old son. After an indepth conversation with the finance department also purchased an extended warranty for the vehicle.

Have had the car less than 4 months of that time it has been in the shop for 37 days. Each time the car broke down leaving my 16 year old on the side of the road in potential dangerous situations.

Had to pay 3k in repairs not covered under the warranty nor supported under their verbal assurances to "take care of me".

Germain was initially unresponsive. When I did speak to Rich Newsome, he was responsive and willing to come to a mutually agreed upon resolution to the issue.

While the service leading up to my conversation with Rich leaves a lot to be desired, I can say that he supports the treatment that I have come to expect from Germain Toyota

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- trust me, go to Toyota Direct instead.

My Land Cruiser needed a radiator. The assistant service manager advised me to also have the hoses replaced as the truck was 22 years old. I agreed to pay the extra cost to have them all replaced and they began. They were done on time, but a week later my radiator dumped all its fluid 75 miles from home. Turns out they never actually replaced any of the hoses (that I paid them several thousand dollars to do). I had to have my wife drive to mansfield to get me and bring me back to columbus for work, after we had it towed to a dealer there to get fixed...and then we had to drive back up there (and back) in her car for me to pick it up... that's 75 miles each way. Germain flipped the bill on the repair obviously because they messed up, but I was out half a days pay, and so was my wife, plus over 200 miles of travel and my weekend plans were obviously cancelled all because a "certified technician" and an "assistant manager" couldn't communicate and get me what I paid good money for. I called the Germain Toyota general manager on Monday, and as of late morning Thursday he has not bothered to return my call. These things happen, people mess up, but it is examples like this that show you the true character of management, they never even apologized, just told me they would pay for the work another dealer had to do to fix their mistake.

I took my 19' Tundra to Germain's bodyshop after being in a collision. They did a great job with the repairs and you would never be able to tell it was in an accident. There were some communication issues and some delays, but this was due to the current pandemic and some staffing issues. After voicing my concerns, the manager from the bodyshop, Dave, was able to provide me with an acceptable solution for the delays. I appreciate their dedication to overall customer satisfaction and quality of repairs.

My family of 6 was hit by a distracted driver so we needed a new car ASAP. We saw a minivan at Germain Toyota that met all our criteria so my husband went check it out. He liked the van and initiated the sale to be paid with cash. It took over an hour just for him to meet with someone in the finance department, a required step even when paying cash. He verified with them that we could come in the next day, hand them a cashiers check, and leave with our van.

As you may have guessed, this was not the case. We had our 4 kids in the car and we arrived to find out that he would again need to meet with finance to finalize the transaction. I waited over an hour in the parking lot with 3 kids under 3 because we couldn t go inside due to Covid. There was never any apology or explanation. And when he finished paying they told him the van wasn t finished being cleaned and detailed and we had to wait longer. I ended up leaving at that point with the kids while my husband waited for them to finish.

To top it off, when they sent us the title they spelled my husband s name wrong. He tried to call and every voice mailbox was full. We had to submit an email on the website to get a call back. They made him come back, during a pandemic, to fix their mistake. And of course when he got there he had to wait for the one person in the whole place who could help him. And then they told him they couldn t give him the replacement right then, they said we could pick it up the next day or they could ship it.

Really just horrible service all around. I wish we had never done business with them and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this time sucking car dealership.

Had a very nice experience here yesterday. Rod Smith helped me out with looking at a vehicle i had found online. It wasn t quite what i wanted and he ended up showing me the same vehicle in great condition and Toyota certified. I couldn t be happier. The car buying process is tedious but Rod and his co-workers made it a smoother and easier experience. Car was priced to move as well. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new or gently used vehicle. Thanks Rod!

I purchased my first car from this dealership 5 years ago. The sales rep Norm was great and he did all he could to make sure we got the best price and the car we wanted. This time they didn't have the color we wanted but another dealer did. He went to get our car and brought it back here made sure it was clean and ready he put our tags on, showed us how to use the buttons we didn't have on the previous car. I trust my business with Norm and his team

They got me! They Work so hard to make you there customer and say if you need anything to let them know...but when you call them they treat you like dirt! Here's a lil about my experience Mr. Tom lombardo was my salesman sold me a Rav4 off the showroom floor with out allowing me to test drive it...cuz we made the deal around 530 or 6 on a sat. and they close at 7 so they clean the car up , finance pulled me back and long behold I bought a car I never test drove..SOO I pull it off the car lot and the tire indicator turns on and its shaking so we assumed that it was cuz it was cold and the car had been sitting on the showroom floor.. like mr. Lombardo said was the reason another car was shaking when I test drove it..so we let it go thinking it would get better and following week was Thanksgiving week and went out of town.. because this is my only car I had... I had no choice but to take it..so today I call to make an appointment for my tire indicator light and shaking to be checked out...and the lady tells me they will have to do a diagnostic test and it would be approximately $80 I said I just bought this car on the 17th and it's got 2yr maintenance free or 25,000miles and its brand new why do I have to pay anything!?? The girl seemed as though she didnt know anything! Said it wasn't covered under warranty blah blah blah.. So I called Tom lombardo thinking he would help the situation but he sure didn't!! He talked to me like dirt! Made me feel like it was my fault saying " how many miles did you drive with the light on!?" "When a light turns on you check what's wrong right away!" "If you noticed these things when you pulled off you should of called me right away!" They were closed he was leaving...sunday they are closed! Nothing I said was right kept blaming me...saying if you hit a pothole, curbside that's was can make it vibrate blah blah blah...on and on not helping the situation at all!! So instead of dealing with Germain I called byers toyota in Delaware 45 mins from where I live and explain the situation and how I was treated and they made me an appointment right away got me in and out in 25 mins...had a great experience at byers treated me with manners and respect and never asked questions just took care of the issue! Don't do business with germain toyota go to Byers Toyota!! They have true customer service and alot better waiting area!!

A dear friend recommend Luci Green as my sales consultant at Germain Toyota. I initially spoke with her over the phone as to what my wants and needs were. She took the time to go over what I was willing spend and what that would offer me. A bit later I received a call from her saying she thought she had a car for me. She actually had found THE car for me. Beautiful condition, fit every need, exactly what I could afford. I didn't even shop other cars.
I was then directed to Nancy Wirick, my financial WIZARD. She left no stone unturned looking for the best options to make my purchase as painless as any could be. My credit is on the mend and she truly worked wonders.
I could not have asked for an easier, more pleasant experience. Luci's charm was an added bonus, as was Nancy's no bones approach. I have no need to ever seek out other car professionals.
(Did I mention they both stayed two hours after closing so I could drive away in my fabulous new ride?)

I sent him 12 pictures within 5 minutes of the conversation. That was two days ago and I have yet to hear anything. After reading all the negative reviews, I probably dodged a bullet. Tom Lombardo is the best car sales person I have ever negotiated and worked with. I have bought many cars in my lifetime (I can officially say I am old) and I needed a new SUV and was dreading the entire purchase process, that was until I went to Germain Toyota and met Tom Lombardo. Tom as very professional but not pushy...more accommodating than any sales person I've met. He directed me to the right vehicle for me after asking me a few questions and actually listening. I went to view a Highlander and after talking to Tom we decided on the RAV4 and have not regretted it. I was shocked that Tom did not try to sell me me the Highlander based on the fact that it was more expensive. Instead he helped me realize it was not the best option for me. In short, the experience was great and would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle through Tom Lombardo.

$2300 estimate for front pads, calipers, rotors and rear pads, rotors. Parts at NAPA $650. I understand dealer markup, but still...

Said I needed 4 new tires when one of the Michelins had <20k miles and was in excellent condition.

On the positive side, the estimate was thorough and gave a breakdown of critical items and need done but not critical. Very courteous throughout the process.

Beware!! Dealt with Adam Castin on a lease on a ne...

Beware!! Dealt with Adam Castin on a lease on a new Camry. At first he was helpful. Once he realized he was going to actually have to do some work for a deal he became quite lazy. And when asked to have his manager call me, he refused and acted like he was above everyone there. He Gave me a price on Monday that I refused, Wednesday he sent me a text saying there was an extra $500 from Toyota and he could get me an extra $500 for trade in, I said ok send me the new price. The price he sends me 2 days later was the exact same price as the Monday before. HOW THE HELL?? General manager RICH NEWSOME calls me after days of trying to reach him and says he will have someone call me back. Never heard back from anyone. GUESS THEY RIP OFF ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT THEY DON'T NEED MY MONEY.

Took my 07 tundra in because of a check engine lig...

Took my 07 tundra in because of a check engine light . Gave them the code I already knew and was told that in needed to replace a different part than I already did. Ok but I find out on my own the code is not related to what they were saying. Also asked them to change the spark plugs I had and was told they had to remove the intake manifold to do it so I told them not to worry about it . Bring my truck home and pop the hood and I m not sure where these great mechanics they have decided that the intake manifold needs to come off for spark plugs but they need to go back to school. A 10 mm socket and a spark plug socket was all that was needed to remove each coil no intake.
Only thing they did well was change oil. Save your time and money and take it to a local shop that wants and probably needs the business more.

Worst service experience ever. I received a safety recall on my 2020 Highlander which Toyota said would take about 1 hour to program. I finally was able to pick up my car 7 hours later after 3 phone calls and three visits to the service dept because I couldn't get my service rep to return my phone calls. I have purchased 3 new cars from this dealership in the last few years and have always gotten great service form the sales dept. the service dept not so much !

I have been a customer at this dealership for about 13 years now. Every time, and I mean EVERY TIME I stop here, I am treated with respect and attention to my need. I am NEVER pressured to get any unneeded service; in fact the charges always end up being LESS than quoted when I make the appointment on line. Once I had to return because I had lost oil. They discovered the problem, fixed it, and even gave me an offer for a free service. So sorry I have not taken time to redeem that yet. I still hope I can some day.
I would not be staying with this place for this long if it were not for the SUPER SPECIAL way they operate--and October 9, 2018, was the epitome of that again. A screw holding my rear license plate broke off. They gave me an appointment the same day to have it replaced. The replacement took about an hour (kinda long, but after all, they were busy!)--and next thing I knew the nice young man was even changing the plates from front to back, something I expected to do myself because I wanted to use the one that was showing less wear in the back. I asked what I owed and the man said, "You were just here and you spent enough money last week! There is no charge!" I gave the guy a hug! You people are awesome! Keep it up!!

My car purchasing experience at Germain Toyota was not a pleasurable one. I walked in on Dec 28th and didn't leave with a reliable car until the end of February. Although some of the issues were not their fault the way they handled it was often times not to the highest standard of customer service. It took a lot to get them on the phone at times after I found the car I originally purchased was faulty. They were generous enough to let me swap one car for the next one but that was a hassle, and upon getting my new car I realized it wasn't up to the Certified standard when it came to the wheels. All in all I believe Germain is a good company but they severely mishandled my situation. Also when I found out the car wash they promised would be built wasn't I wasn't too happy either

I bought two cars from Germain. I won t go back. The first purchase was fine. It was a new leased Tacoma. The second was a used Chevy Suburban. I never knew a 3 year old car could have so many issues. I was assured they would get the stale smell out of it. It still smells. A week after I bought it, I had to have it towed back, and have the alternator replaced. Last summer, the a/c went out. I was told it was fine, and they recharged it for $200. I could ve done that myself for $40. Then it went out a week later. I had to google it for the service department to find out what the issue was. Later on, I took it to a car wash, as the air dryer blew over it, the plastic covers on the door panels came off and exposed where someone had glued them back on after removing them. Today, I took it to a Chevy dealership for a recall and found out it was in a rear collision that had been patched. Not Germain s fault unless they knew about it. The dealership said it should be obvious to a good mechanic. Knowing all this, I m certain I ll never get a good trade value out of it. Can t wait to see what else is wrong with it.

My husband recently took our 2016 Sienna that we bought brand new from Germain in for service as I was noticing a noise on the driver side door. He call and made an appointment with the service department specifically letting them know that he worked down the street and needed the car back before they closed at 8PM or a loaner if they needed the car overnight as he had no means of getting home that night. He was assured that he would be taken care of on the phone and when he dropped the car of the next day at 2PM. Later that evening 5 PM no call, 6PM no call, 7 PM no call so being busy working he did not remember to call until 7:55PM. Luckily he was able to get a hold of someone minutes before the dealership was to close. Of course all othe service associates had left for the day and he did not know if the car was done or if he needed to pickup a loaner. After a brief conversation with the lady she found his paperwork and the car was ready. Remind you no calls from Germain so he could have had to walk home to Orient OH in which we live if he had not remembered to call himself. Next day he calls and left two mesages for the Service Manger Bill Blanton with no return phone call. What a joke customer service definately isn't a #1 priority with Germain.

Per your repsonse my husband called again and left a voicemail because of course Billy's not in the office and two calls to the receptionist. Guess what I WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK. Still no call. I find it funny why I am trying to chase him down when it wasn't my fault. They have all of my contact info as I bought and service my car there. No more thanks Billy for nothing. Mr. Germain my family has been a long time customer of Germain Toyota when you only had the location on Brice. What a shame how far customer service a loyalty has fallen since those days. I also service my Lexus at Gemain of Easton which I will no longer do as well.

I have had good experiences at the service center each and every-time I've taken my FJ Cruiser and MR2 Spyder for service....wouldn't go anywhere else.

All service providers, especially Joseph Campbell are first class... I truly appreciate the attentiveness to detail.

This was my first time car shopping and Tom Lombardo was really patient and very helpful. He took his time to explain our options and made us a great deal that we could not refuse. We just had our 2nd free service and love how fast and easy the process is each time. My salesman has been there during all three of my service appointments and I love how he remembers who I am each time!

Kent Artusi was especially helpful with discussing my plans for the car with over 200,000 miles and getting it back to me in running condition "like new". Thank you.

He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He did not have the model I was looking for and did not try to push me into something I didn t want. I didn t buy a truck, but had a great experience.

I had been looking for a used Highlander for about...

I had been looking for a used Highlander for about two months. Trent stayed in touch with me to let me know when they received a vehicle that I might be interested in. He was always very friendly, not pushy and was honest and professional from the start. Luckily, he contacted me last week to let me know they had received a Highlander that was in very good condition. Since they just received the vehicle, the dealership was not willing to go down on price quite as much as I'd like (out of Trent's control), but we still agreed on an overall fair price -- without a lot of haggling/stress to me. I was very thankful for that. The financing employee that I dealt with (Steve, I believe) was also very helpful and friendly. My only disappointment and why I rated a 4-star instead of 5-star for the dealership is that I realized the day after I purchased it that the rear wiper blade doesn't work. I was hoping they'd catch it on the inspection but mistakes do happen. I'm not sure what it will cost to fix it. I would rate Trent though a 5-star PLUS and would not hesitate to recommend others to have Trent help them find a used car!

Excrutiatingly slow wifi. 1mb/s. Had no choice but to wait was hoping to make use of the downtime by catching up on work. No appointment confirmation (hoping to make sure my total was correct before arriving) despite providing email address and calling back to re-enter my email address when I did not get the confirmation. CSR tried to do a rotation and oil change when I just asked for oil change. Could not provide total for side mirror replacement even though total was already quoted to me.

I have purchased 3 new vehicles from Germain Toyota .... I already own a 2015 Avalon XLE (and did own a 2001 Avalon XL w/ 296 K miles on it that unfortunately just got totaled) ....so I purchased a new 2016 Camry SE both of which were from Tom Lombardo ...if you want an honest and non-pressure / no-hassle car salesman (believe it or not ...YES - they do exist !) this is the salesman you want ! He is very laid back and what he says he will do or check into ....he ACTUALLY does do ..... I have purchased over 250 vehicles in my life ... there are many dealers i will not return to ....this is one that i have ....and when i do ..... I look for Tom !

I have used a local dealership to buy all my cars over the years. My 18 year old daughter was in the market for a car and just couldn't find what she wanted here. (Teenagers!) When she found and fell in love with a car online at Germain, i had my reservations. I thought no way could a large dealership make the deal and make us feel taken care of like my local guys. I was WRONG! I have to say the customer service at Germain was excellent. The sales associates and financing guy were great. Gary, our sales guy, was a big help and explained everything about the vehicle from beginning to end. He didn t pressure us and was very straight up about everything. Our finance guy, Ryan, was also very helpful and showed extra care to help my daughter understand the process. He worked the numbers and not only got us the best deal but also made it possible to afford a great extra warranty. The buying experience was great overall and we are both pleased with her new car. We will be repeat customer's.

So I ll try and make this review as short as possible as to not drag on. First things first, I found one of their vehicles online and proceeded to call the dealership to get more info. I spoke with a sales person for a couple of minutes and then I asked if he could get me some additional information. I then waited for hours and never got a response. It then prompted me to call back and speak with someone else. The new person I got was great! She answered all of my questions and got back to me in a timely manner, until she informed me that she could no longer help me because she got in trouble by management for helping out someone who wasn t her original customer, even though I only spoke to the previous gentleman for maybe 10 min. From this point things went seemingly smoothly. We had a small disagreement when it came to trade value that was eventually negotiated, or so I thought. When I called the following day to finalize things with one of their finance managers, Joe Day, he proceeded to change our previous arrangement saying that I had agreed to finance with them (which never occurred) after going back and forth for a few moments he then flat out said to me well that s the deal now so you can take it or leave it and then proceeded to hang up on me. I m not gonna lie they had a great deal on a truck one of the best deals I had seen going for that particular truck but even with the great deal they had on this truck I still decided to buy a more expensive truck elsewhere. I was doing this whole deal over the phone as I lived about 6 hours away from the dealership and from the experience that I received over the phone from the management I just did not trust them to not try and pull something shady when I got there since they knew I was so far from home. If you do deal with this dealership make sure to get absolutely everything in writing and record your conversations because they will twist everything they say if you don t have proof. All of this took place btw over $400. But they could care less.

Horrible experience buying a used car at Germain Toyota. My daughter went there with cash. They tried to manipulate her into taking out a loan. They tried to sell her an expensive warranty. She paid cash and they still charged her a $250 documentation fee . The next day the car she bought had two flat tires. This was a brutal experience. They are dishonest.

We bought a used Subaru in March 2019. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and had just totaled my car, so we needed something quick. That night I had no real issues. The car hadn t been through the body shop yet, so they let us bring it back later. When we went to pick up the car we ended up being there for an HOUR waiting for them to find my keys they apparently lost. Several months later I had a cracked manifold. Fortunately we purchased a prepaid maintenance plan and extended warranty that we were specifically told could be used at any Toyota dealership. I called Tansky which is much closer and they insisted the plan was only with Germain, who kept insisting that I could go to Tansky. I ve played that battle several times now. I ended up having to go to the Subaru dealership who said they could not except the warranty. I ve been way over due for an oil change because of this run around and not having time to drive over an hour past multiple closer dealerships that supposedly could help me but actually can t. Thursday I called Germain and Tansky and scheduled an appointment for an oil change at Tansky. I left work early and hauled it to Sawmill where Tansky told me they couldn t really work on other makes and would have to upcharge the service so I would not be saving money. Germain had openings on their website so I called to schedule an appointment and was told they had nothing available (yet another lie). I finally make it to Germain this morning where I spent 2 hours waiting for an oil change. They had a kids room with toys and a TV which would have been great if it weren t disgusting. There was a moldy Cheeto on the table and it looked like nothing had been cleaned in ages. This would have been irritating anytime, but was totally unacceptable in the midst of COVID. When my car was finally done I was sent out to wander the parking lot dragging my toddler trying to find my car that was right out front . I went back in to cancel the prepaid plans and was told all the same lies as before. Maybe the finance guys are truly just ignorant instead of misleading jerks.

In my mind shopping for a new vehicle ranked right up there with getting a root canal until Germain Toyota (specifically Luci Green) showed me that the entire experience could be nothing short of wonderful. Luci was extremely knowledgeable and equally personable as well as patient as we test drove the same Prius twice along with a RAV4 and a Highlander. The fact that she took the time to glean information about my family's lifestyle in order to help determine which vehicle would best meet our needs was impressive. I drove onto the lot with some fear and trepidation but it didn't take long for that apprehension to give way to the heretofore unheard of thought that spending the afternoon with a car salesman could actually be an enjoyable experience. The financing process was very easy and Asher was a joy to speak with regarding the details of the transaction. He was thorough and personable and made that process quick and painless. Luci also went out of her way to make signing the paperwork easy when I wasn't able to get back to the dealership due to work commitments. All in all, I would say you won't go wrong with Germain Toyota. I have been loyal to the Toyota brand for many years and have found them to be excellent vehicles. Now I can honestly say that I have found a dealership that has earned my loyalty as well. I will return to Germain in the future when the need for another vehicle arises and my hope is that Luci will still be there to provide another exceptional experience. I have already recommended Germain to several co-workers and look forward to doing business with them again. Many thanks to Luci (I just can't say enough good things about her), Asher and the rest of the Germain organization. The customer that chooses to do business with Germain will have made a very wise choice!
