I am the third member of my family to purchase a car with Erich Tam. This time I went there to start my car shopping, but intended to go to another dealership (Hyundai) to compare prices. I never went with my family, so I never had any interaction with Erich. Within the first half hour, I knew that he was the one, and made up my mind to buy a Honda! He was very honest, sincere and had his own personal experiences with Honda. My daughter and son-in-law came with me to pick up my new Honda Cr-V. My son-in-law said from that day, that he will always purchase his future cars from Erich, no matter what dealership he goes to!!

My friends purchased new and used cars from here. Their prices almost beats other vendors and the salesperson is very friendly. But they should stop adding nitro filled tires as mandatory and charge customers extra $200. When asked they said the car comes with prefilled nitro air and we need to wait couple of weeks for a new car with normal air. Really ?

I bought a Honda Pilot 14 months ago. I got a fair price for it but I also bought a few of their warranties including the oil change plan.

BIG MISTAKE.

I cannot stress enough how unhappy I am every time I go get my oil changed or get any service in the car. The sales guy who is now a Finance Manager, his name is Brian, sold me the warranty as a 'bumper to bumper' warranty. EVERYTHING, he said, will be covered. It was over $2,500. However, every time I go they tell me something different about my warranty. Today they told me it's only a 'engine and transmission' warranty. When I asked to speak to Brian about this they told me to wait for him in the waiting area. I waited 1:15, he never came for me.

I feel cheated and will never recommend this dealership to anyone.

I believe the service department tries to do well but is unsuccessful often. The first few times I went to get an oil change they forgot about me. I had to come out and ask about my car a few times. It took them about 2 hours to get me my car. Another time, I went to get the pressure in my tires fixed. It seemed like I had a leak and they told me I didn't and they supposedly filled up my tire again. They didn't. The notification in my car never went away, which they suggested it would after driving it for a while.

The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are polite but the outcome of every service is terrible.

Highly recommend working with Sanjay. He's upfront and prompt with his service. He does a fantastic job at getting you the best price and making you feel satisfied. But don't take my word for it, go in and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful experience at DCH Academy Honda. Paul Aweeky was our sales consultant. When we first walked in, we were unsure of what we wanted. Paul walked us through the different options and really explained each option to use. Paul helped us decide whether or not we should go for a new car, used car or leased car. He explained the highlights and benefits of each option and helped us figure out the best option based on our budget. Paul was very patient and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

I dealt with the finance manager Gericino who was completely rude as he yelled at my husband and ripped the documents in front of him for spending over an hour negotiating with him. I was very appalled by that situation as I had my 4 year old daughter sitting a few feet away as this individual yelled for no reason. I was disappointed and would hate for someone else to experience the same embarrassment.

Pointless in making an appointment for an oil change. An oil change should take 20mins max. Not 2 hours. I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance for our Vans first oil change. Their website stated it was $34.99 for an oil change. After the 2 hour wait and about to pay they tell me it's $50.00 . All new Honda's only use OW20 full synthetic. That's wonderful I will do my own oil changes next time and it will only cost me $20.00

I placed a call to DCH Honda as I was in the market for a Honda Civic, but I was very specific about the Trim and Color I was looking for. I had previously tried to look for this in Opeb Road Honda and experienced a very bad response from them, filled with incompetence and attitude. But after calling DCH , Lisa called me back the very next day, asked for me to put a small refundable deposit, and quickly located this specific but hard to find trim/color. The very next day it was in their dealership ! I went over next day and working an hour finished all the paperwork, made the purchase and was good to go. I got a good and reasonable price from them compared to MSRP. Overall I loved that it was quick hassle free and convenient. The salesman Khalil was extremely professional, kind and humble. I am leaving this feedback primarily because of him, good luck to him.

3 times to get an oil change & each time they overfilled the tire pressure - not good - This was Saturday & I'm still waiting for the service manager to call me back! In additional while waiting for service I heard a rep tell a customer that they couldn't repair her tire she had to purchase a new one. What a surprise when the customer said they had a maintenance agreement, she came back to tell her they can't give her a new tire. They HAD to repair the damaged one!

I just purchased a new crystal black 2013 Honda Odyssey from DCH Academy Honda. My sales person was Mr. Andy Lau and it went really smoothly! We were trading in my fathers SUV for a mini van to accommodate a growing family and Andy was very accommodating. He helped to make sure the entire trade in and purchase process went incredibly smoothly. The day i went to go pick up the car (yesterday), he was actually helping another customer who was torn between what vehicle to purchase so i sat in an empty cubicle while waiting for Andy to finish up. The guy took longer than I expected and Andy actually offered me his lunch since the wait was carrying past lunch time. How much better can customer service get than that... I purchased a pre owned Honda CRV 2013 model from DCH Academy Honda. As soon as I purchased the car, I felt its a great deal as it was fantastic car to own. After completing the test drive, I had made sure that all questions about the car conditions are asked. I had specifically asked about the car s battery condition. Sales representative Veronica G had given me a battery test certificate as "good". I got the car home and parked it. Next morning when I tried to start the car, it did not start at all. I called the dealer and they jump start the car. I thought its one off thing and continued. But same problem occurred exactly after a week. They again sent a guy to jump start. I took the car to dealer service station and they told me battery needs a replacement. He showed me the same test that had been done and the values were exactly the same. I had to spend $140 for the battery and painful days when it did not start twice. Why did the dealer replace battery before? When I went to inquire about the same, all Veronica G had to say was "she is not the mechanic" with attitude. They have great cars, but choose your sales rep with proper care who is more friendly and gives good suggestions. Sales rep is not doing any favor to us, its our own money which we are investing on a car and good, smiling friendly sales representative will give you better satisfaction after you complete the deal. Nitin - Manager is responsive and helped me in sending a mechanic to jump start the car twice. But I did not like his blaming on me, keeping the car lights/doors and other electrical components turned on, as I have driven car for last ten years and I know what to switch off when I park the car overnight. Overall an average experience, but pre-owned Honda cars here are very good as we are 3 guys who have purchased 3 cars in 6 months from the same dealer.

After having our third child in early June, our current vehicle just wasn't cutting it. As crazy as it sounds, my wife really wanted a minivan to cart the kids around and since she would be driving it, I began looking for a reasonably priced alternative. I knew a brand new car wasn't going to be financially possible, so I started looking at certified pre-owned cars. I drive a Honda Pilot and was impressed with the quality of their vehicles, so that's where I started.

After finding a Honda Odyssey on-line at DCH's website, I was contacted via e-mail by salesman Joe Lisciandri. After a follow-up e-mail from Joe, I contacted him and scheduled an appointment to see the Odyssey and get a price for my trade-in. The entire transaction couldn't have been smoother. I did my homework on-line to find out what the Odyssey was worth and what I could expect to receive for my trade. Joe did not play any games. The price offered for my trade was very fair and the price for the Odyssey couldn't be beat. I met with Joe on a Wednesday evening and drove off the lot with my minivan 2 days later on Friday afternoon. My wife is happy with the new car and therefore I am happy.

Joe made the entire process painless and he, and DCH Academy, are highly recommended.

I bought a 2015 Odyssey a few months ago and the sales process was nothing but wonderful. The sales representative was courteous, prompt and informative. I wish I could just review that part separately because the guy deserves 5 stars. My wife and I went in on a Tuesday evening and less than 1 hour later we were paying the deposit. I like the car a lot although I had discovered that it is in no way shape or form close the level or design and quality that European cars generally exhibit.

Now the funny part: going in for the first oil change and service the experience was and still is something I'd like to give ZERO stars but I can't hence the 1 star review. The girl punching in the computer my info seemed bothered that I was there, I was hoping it was because she did not have her coffee but I guess the whole Service Department (should not be called Service) specializes in Delivering Customer Happiness...NOT.

There were several things that needed to be taken care of (still not taken care of) I would consider them minor for this is a car and certain things may not be perfect yet, the most important thing was the fact that the windshield cracked around the rear-view mirror console. I first noticed a fine straight line around the console and thought is the sun-blocking inside patterned sticker not being perfectly stretched but with the seasonal changes in temperature and perhaps vibrations from driving conditions, the crack extended and amplified. Ignoring what I think it's evident and irrefutable, the service manager Anthony Lopez tells me that he did the "pen test" and it looks like a rock has caused the crack. Yes, after telling me that he has extended experience and worked for BMW his expertise is...a "pen test". I don't know how whether this should be funny or outrageous and I know they do get away this stupidity but it still baffles me that one could ignore all other evidence that points to a manufacturing defect (perfectly straight crack following the contour of the rear-view console = virtually impossible, the crack starting in the center and extending on both sides including the one where expert Anthony did the pen test and it's actually a recent development, etc) and state that his "pen test" indicates some sort of impact. I had then called the service manager several times to have this further evaluated and I am now waiting for him to coordinate a meeting/inspection with "his Honda guy" who comes in occasionally; I was advised that I was unreasonable from the beginning for not buying in his baloney. Allegedly a customer needs to make his/her schedule around "the Honda guy" who's very busy. My wife and I have a 6 month old child at home and I have to travel a lot and now I have to wait for the Honda guy to see if his experience consists of a "pen test" or something else. I hope I'll have to edit this review and add a happy ending note and I do plan on pursuing this legally if it is not addressed in a reasonable, responsible and timely fashion. This is ridiculous to say the least.

02/20/15: I am adding to/editing this review because the problem stated above was fully addressed and DCH Academy Honda should get credit for it. Anthony came thru and coordinated the windshield evaluation with the Honda rep, ordered and installed the replacement and was very courteous, attentive and prompt to all the issues I had pointed out to him. The reason this is a 3 stars (neutral) not a 5 stars is because claims should be evaluated in good faith and DCH should not rush to reject reasonable ones; the experience was positive in the end but not flawless. I will however give them another try in the future, maybe this was just an rare mishap.

I had the pleasure of working with salesman, John Q Mitchell on a new car lease. He took the time to review my available options and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. After about an hour, with the assistance of Jason, Bryan Gamble, and Veronica Galluccio, I was able to complete my paperwork and get the keys to my new car! John Q then took the time to show me how to connect my phone to Android Auto, bluetooth, and explained some other cool features. The numbers we got from Ms. Byrnes could not be beat, & the promptness & helpfulness of all our interactions with her was most impressive. If you are looking for a Honda, start with Academy. DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge, NJ is the best dealership to buy a new car. The moment I enter this dealership I feel more comfortable, relax and no pressure at all. All I did is test drive the 2013 Pilot and right after we agreed with price but need to be discussed with my wife..My sales consultant was Paul Papis and he is very knowledgeable, sincere and very friendly...after a week I decided to purchase the vehicle and went very smooth, even when the time to sign all the paper work from the finance dept..yes they offer me all the options (e.g. extended warranty) and decided not to purchase anything and still they never force me or feel uncomfortable during the process. This is my advise to people who is car shopping rightnow just come and visit this dealership and you will never regret it.

I would trust my life to the guys at DCH Academy Honda. We just drove home with a Honda we bought on-the-spot. Sales manager John Nguyen is second-to-none. Not only did he have a solution to every practical problem we raised -- door guards to protect against New York city dings; bike storage on a Honda Civic; ways to get more room out of the trunk -- but he offered an amazing deal that included extra insurance coverage for exterior and interior wear-and-tear. The dealership is part of a massive chain owned by a Chinese business consortium. And they have brought buying a car into the 21st century. The showroom is organized like a small office, and if you call ahead to say your'e coming, you'll be greeted by a concierge who will take you to a salesperson. By the time we'd negotiated the deal-of-a-lifetime, also supported by a long-time salesman named Robert Levine, we needed help understanding all the newfangled technology. A sales guy named Mike spent more than an HOUR with me as I sat learning about voice-recognition and the 700 voice commands in our new Civic. We've all had miserable experiences buying cars, but that will not happen here. You will be treated like a human being; you won't have to haggle to get a deal; and, if you lease (which I'm doing for the first time), the terms will be explained with 100% transparency. It was well worth the trip from Brooklyn to avoid the dealers in the city. Go here, to New Jersey. I am still in heaven.

When I went to Honda it was not my intention to buy a car the same day. I wanted to visit different dealerships and see different make of cars. Essam Beshay, the salesman I dealt with, changed my mind. From the first moment I started speaking to him, I liked his demeanor. He was very friendly, but in a very professional way, very helpful, informative and very knowledgeable. He was able to answer every question and explain everything in a clear way. He was very courteous and very patient. As you know, buying a car for many people is a major investment and it is a stressful experience. It was very comforting dealing with someone who seemed to have your interests at heart, not interested only in making a sale, but in making you feel comfortable in making the decision. I would highly recommend Essam to family and friends. I believe he is a great asset to your dealership. I am sure that if I have further questions or concerns I can contact Essam and he will be there for me. Should I decide to buy another car in the future, DCH Academy Honda and Essam will be my only choices.

Although the car buying experience was fine, the end result left a very sour feeling of this dealership.
We asked about financing our purchase. They came back with a 4.53% rate. Thankfully, I did my homework ahead of time and I told them that I could get 1.49%. They said hold on and they will see if they could do better. They cam back with 1.63%. Yes, that was much better!
BUT IT WAS VERY DIRTY & DECEIVING TO OFFER 4.53%!!!! I understand that maybe not everyone has good enough credit to offer the lower rate but nothing changed in my credit to make a change in the rate. DCH Academy Honda should be ashamed off themselves for trying to sell me financing at such a high rate when there was a much lower rate available.
BEWARE DCH Academy Honda financing!! Don't get screwed by them. Know what other rates are before you accept theirs.

I purchased a certified Civic 2011 in summer in 2013. A sales manager, Ruben, was honest and sincere and said to me beforehand, they can't sell a car I was interested in for the price I had offered online when I was heading to some car dealers including DCH. A lot of car dealers try to just let customers come to their offices first for whatever reasons. But the manager was different and really tried to work with me to find out what they could do best for my car purchase by finding out the realistic options of cars within my price range. When I got to know the car I had been interested in was already sold out, I was about to leave but thanks to his persistent efforts, I was able to meet a right car for me and decided to buy it happily with total satisfaction except for sunroof.lol Also, a sales representative, Veronica, is a person who really takes care of customers and does follow-up well. I know they post very competitive prices but if they had offered some discounts from their original price, it would have made me feel like rating 5 stars. I would definitely consider this dealer as my first option when I upgrade my car or purchase a new one.

All the deal process done very quick and easy. I bought a new Honda Accord EX and received a great deal. Both he and his manager along with everyone else I dealt with did a great job. Answered all my questions, very helpful and best of all no pressure to make a purchase. First, their price is overwhelmingly high comparing with other dealers. Of all the five dealers I contacted, their price is $2000 higher. Second, worst customer service ever. All the salesman did was trying to cheat. No respect, they acted like you knew nothing so that they can judge you.
Don't know why there are good rates for them, probably most from their employees or who got rebate to do so.
Will definitely avoid them in the future.
