the hotel is ok but the valet parking is terrible. the arrogant approach of the guys who parked the cars. at the end of the stay we got a car break. they quickly wanted to get rid of us so we could not find it. from the cranks from the car, we picked up all the numbers. take care. I did not know how it was going

Horrible plumbing parking is $50 daily horrible service left item in the room they NEVER called me back. They wouldn't go look for it. When were there there was a 25 min just to check in. If I could give them a -0 I would. Don't be stay here

So far, so good. Disembarked from our cruise this morning. Arrived very early, checked in and waited patiently for our room to be available, while the front desk staff endured a brutal day of very rude customers. They did a wonderful job.

Very nice hotel. Although a little noisy due to the location, it wasn't as bad as the other reviewers made it seem. The room was very clean and kept so throughout the stay. The location is great, as you can walk to the popular area attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed! A couple things frustrated me. Only one valet guy wore mask, several have face covering but wore it around necks as accessories without covering their faces. I understand it s their own business believing in masks but since the city still has a mask mandates and lots of your customers not feeling comfortable. Wouldn t it be nicer to hold it a to higher standard and just do the mask especially since it s a high end hotel? A security guy in the lobby didn t wear it, either (despite it s required in the hotel, well there s a sign) No concierge or staff was there to ensure social distancing or impose mask mandate. It s annoying for someone whose sister is a doctor to see this. Also, the valet asks to call 25 minutes ahead of time to retrieve the car. No phone number on the ticket, when we called the front desk they simply asked us to go to the valet station up front the hotel. Lastly, spoiler alert, there s no mini refrigerator in your room.

The hotel is beautiful inside and the room was big and very comfortable.
However, I did my reserve with breakfast and no one gave me the voucher or explained how to get the breakfast, so I called the reception and no one knew the time the breakfast would be available, and also after eating the waitress at the restaurant said I needed the voucher. I had to go to the reception wait on line to get the voucher. If it wasn't for this little inconvenient I would give 5 stars.

Very unhappy with this hotel. The check in was horrible since the person working was seriously rude. I reserved a king room TWO MONTHS in advance and was given a room with 2 queens instead. They refused to change our room saying that when the reservation was made, there must not have been any king rooms available - BS! The room does not have a microwave, fridge (no mini bar even), the beds are really hard and uncomfortable, and shower tub was filthy (and did not drain!!!) For the money I paid for the room, I would have thought it would be nicer. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Stay at the Marriott down the street - it's much nicer.

Some confusion during check-in... Was supposed to get a text when the room was ready, but that never happened. Despite that, the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Dining experience wasn't bad, either. All-in-all, 4.5 stars... Round up to 5

The worst experience. Too noisy. You can hear the housekeepers talking on the hallway, you can hear the people next room, mattresses are uncomfortable, no mini fridge in the room and on top of all this they had construction on the upper level at 8 am without giving guests heads up. We had to checkout early, it was impossible to deal with the noise. Called the front desk and had nothing solved, asked to talk to the manager on duty but that didn t happen as it went to voicemail. Went downstairs to checkout and asked to speak to the manager and was told the manager is not available. Mark Haines the manager on duty was not available. Definitely not booking this hotel in the future. Too noisy and unprofessional non-accommodating staff. Extremely unhappy with Astor Crown Plaza.and they stole stuff from the car while parked in valet!

Room Price is a little high there was a water drinking ban didn't find out until. I went to get a cup of coffee and the coffee place had a notice on the door what hotel would not inform there guests about a water issue.the same way you stick my Bill under my door do my bad water notice the same way.

Great location - but horrible service. Honestly thought of leaving the hotel all together and find another but my colleagues were all here as we were attending a conference.

Had a room over the loading dock and at 4am heard banging every day for hours with dumpster removal etc. When I asked for a room change they said yes I could get a new room later that afternoon - then when I came back was told no and I should have talked directly to a manager. Finally talked to the manager and she promised a new room for me for tonight (my 4th night of no sleep), she was pleasant thankfully.

Just a note - the front desk staff should be re-trained to be more helpful. They were horrible to say the least and each time I talked with them (not the night manager I should note) they acted as though I had done something wrong and never apologized. The service was seriously lacking.

Any future guests reading this avoid room 225 like the plague!

I was only here for a day trip. Not an overnight stay. Some of the hotel has a classic old look to it and the rest kind of just looks old. They have a very annoying squeek on their escalator and I was thankful when it broke the next day that I was there!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the French quarter. A certain standard of excellence is expected with the Crowne Plaza brand and this property met those expectations. Requested a higher floor at check-in and was accommodated.

Awful customer service!!! upon arrival we sat for 45 minutes for Valet parking only to get to our room and find out the police were in the process of having our car towed away because the valet just left it sitting on canal street. No one seemed interested in trying to help us until we called the manager. We waited another hour to get our car when leaving. I love New Orleans and have been there many times but this time was terrible.

We stayed on a Thursday night on the 13th floor. Spooky? Nope. We had a great experience. The staff is very helpful and always smiling. The room was clean and cozy with lots of amenities. The best thing about the Plaza? Location location location. Weeknight rates are cheaper than you can imagine.
Valet parking is 2 dollars cheaper than other premium parking. My only complaint was the hour wait for our car. I called for it at 11:30 am and we were told at 12:15 no one relayed the message. So, about 12:40 we got our car. But, that was just an honest mistake. I highly recommend staying here.

The location is great. Service was fine. Asked for extra blankets got them with a call back to confirm we received them. Room was the most lackluster thing about our stay. Toilet ran the entire time. Both sink and shower faucets leaked the whole time. Not a huge deal but annoying if your a woman spending time in the bathroom getting ready doing your hair and makeup. Hot water was my biggest complaint. Completely hit and miss. Hot water one day next day same time period lukewarm at best. My biggest pet peeve is a pisswarm shower, yuck.

Great hotel in the most perfect place to see the whole city. We were able to walk to Jackson Square and explore Bourbon and food places all on foot. Really accommodating staff, and everything was neat and clean. The room came with complementary ear plugs to combat the Bourbon street noise (even though I never heard any even without the ear plugs on the 5th floor)

Staff was extremely unhelpful and rude. The hotel rooms are noisy and the halls reaked of smoke. This hotel does not offer a great guest experience or provide a classy atmosphere. We will NEVER stay here again. Don't waste your money.

This a perfect location if you want to be close to but not actually on Bourbon Street.

The hotel staff was excellent however it is somewhat dated as far as the rooms.

Perfect for a New Orleans getaway since most of your time will be spent exploring the area. Being on the corner or Canal and Bourbon helps as well.

I've stayed here for years, it is an absolutely beautiful Hotel. However, guest service has really gone down the toilet. I feel like most of the front desk, management and reservations employees feel they're doing you a favor to wait on you or answer any question. 5 years ago I was dedicated to this hotel, now I stay between here, the Omni, or the Chateau Lemoyne. Rates are often through the roof compared to many other hotels in the area.

First of all, I wasn't supposed to be charged for holding a room. However, the bill did post to my account not affording me a change of plans. After a lengthy phone call, I was informed that I had been informed of the precharge and there was nothing they could do. Not a good business plan Astor.
The rooms are fine however the beds are terrible. We changed rooms 3 times before finally settling on a room with two marginally acceptable mattresses. One of the so called "clean" rooms had leftover items inside. I've stayed there once prior so I didn't hesitate to book for this stay. However, in the future I'll think twice before rebooking.

Staff was very friendly, location is right down the road from everything we wanted to see and do.
Now, the bad part.
We booked and paid for a king room 6 days in advanced. We arrived and was told they gave our room away, and wanted to put my boyfriend and I in a two double bed room. I was about to lose my temper. My boyfriend stood up and assured we will get the room we paid for, and not have a downgrade. Took them quite a while to figure out what they were to do with us. The lady at the desk told us the only room available, was the double king suite. My boyfriend told her to give us that room and we better not be charged more than what we paid for. So, she put us in the room. Talk about NICE! It's a $900 room during the weekend. We only paid $270 (the price of our other room we booked in the beginning)
We were told there'd be a complimentary breakfast in the morning. There was none. Just an over priced restaurant in the hotel.

In conclusion, I'm giving this hotel 3 stars because the staff and vallet took care of us, and was friendly to my very furious boyfriend.

The rooms are very nice. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is right next to burbon street. So great location! Service desk could have better customer service skills, but the hotel is pretty awesome.

Spent three nights at this location earlier this week and other than the hotel being aesthetically pleasing, everything else was atrocious. The first night we arrived there was no one at the valet station which led to an hour wait in traffic. Requested car pull up to retrieve some items and both times they just said they would grab the things I wanted and bring them around. About an hour wait each time. Hallway carpet was soaking wet. Upon ordering my car to check out, noticed that someone had stolen my handgun that I had locked away in the glove box and various papers I had in there strewn across the floorboard. Windows were left rolled down while it rained and resulted in drenched seats and carpets. My girlfriend also had her brand new Kindle Fire stolen from our room and no one could help with either that or the missing gun. Would rather sleep on the street than stay at this location again. Do not trust anyone here, from the maids to the valet service and up. Took a great trip and absolutely ruined it.

WHERE DO I BEGAN.......Ill start with the good stuff first. Super fast check in. Took maybe 2 minutes. Bed didnt feel so good BUT when I woke up MY BACK FELT BRAND NEW. Valet pickup......MINUTES, not hours probably 4 minutes. I didn't even have time to do my review of the hotel.
NOW THAT IS ALL THE GOOD THAT I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL

Since I was just talking about the valet I'll start there. There was maybe 6 guys at the valet stand. But only one handling the cars while the others just stood there. During check in I gave the receptionist my stub that was given to me outside. She tore off her piece and gave the other part back to me. I didn't get anything else. So this morning there was an issue with us getting our vehicle bc we were not given a PRINTED receipt. But by the time I came back out from the hotel our vehicle was pulling up.

I called and asked questions before booking. My question was: Is there a deposit? If so, how much? I was told that there was NOT a deposit of any kind. When we got there, GUESS WHAT? There was a $50 deposit. I do not like being misinformed.

Getting on the elevator a staff approached is and asked ,"ho w many days are you staying?" We told him one night. He offered us a suite..........ummmmmm NO!!!!! VERY weird. We don't know if he was trying to hustle us or what. Made me feel very uncomfortable.

9th floor smelled like sewage. Our bathroom smelled like rotten eggs. My husband had not used the restroom yet. We had just arrived after 4. We can only assume that it had a bad odor throughout our stay due to the Flooding from Hurricane Katrina.

The Crown Plaza New Orleans is a fairly decent hotel, but, a nightmare to get too. The rooms are roomy and clean. The mattress was a little more firm than I like, but, the bed is pretty comfortable. Valet was impossible to find, even double parking on Canal directly in front of the hotel I was unable to park with valet, so, I just opted to park in a nearby public parking garage. This is the 1st hotel I've stayed in that offeres complimentary ear plugs because of the noise. Thankfully I didn't need to use them, but, glad they were offered.

The service was good, the rooms were clean, and the location is close to everything fun except Frenchman; however, the toilet had overflowed in my first room before I got there, and the carpet was still wet, among other unsavory details that I'll not go into here.

Female Employees don't shave their armpits. Don t wear sleeveless shirts and serve food if you prefer not to.shave. also, rooms are very dark and morbid, smell like old mans locker room. Black.commodes, black floors, small window in room is so.creepy. bed felt low and like I was in a barn on a bail.of hay. Just nasty. Restaurant was expensive, slow see ice and only the salad was good. Will never go back.

There were construction noises all morning and it sounded like it was happening right above us. I mentioned this to the male front desk worker and he clearly could care less. He did not even say good morning or ask how our stay was. Did not offer any apology at all. Did not even say hello when we first walked up to the desk. He was on the edge of being rude. I would never stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone. The hotel seemed empty but this is how you treat what little business you have? This is making it so much worse by having staff like that. This happened 11/11/21 around 10am.

The hotel is in walking distance from everything. The rooms were relatively small and had high beds. The AC blows directly onto the bed. Highly recommend checking in as early as possible. The lines tend to be long.

Run is all I can say. Checked in only to find a hole in the ceiling like a camera had been up there or something. You can see straight through to whatever is upstairs. No cable at all so no tv and it s obvious these rooms are on their last leg even after so called renovation. Plus a 50.00 per night hold for incidentals which there are none so no clue what they are holding for. This is not in any way the crown plaza standards you expect.

The hotel itself was amazing my sisters and i recently did a girls trip to New Orleans for the Essence Festival and the stay started off great until the next day when we asked for extra towels and was told we needed to call to request our room to be clean...well when we did call the rooms wasn t clean and towels where never brought...the last day went requested a late check out and the front desk told us 2pm well as you know the last few days was nonstop so we decided to sleep in a little and then there was a knock on our door at 11am saying check out is at 12pm we told the lady that we had late check out at 2pm she instantly got an attitude with not only myself but with the other members of our party(we had three rooms)....so just that alone left a sour taste in my mouth about your services but the bell desk and bellman where amazing...only thing i would recommend is you guess have more security at your doors because coming in and out of your hotel with people trying to sell you stuff or just men that are very disyto women because they don t want to talk to him is a bit much...I ve noticed other hotels in the area didn t have this problem..we paid really good money to stay in your establishment and to have these issues are Unacceptable.

Have not received a room yet, but I m already dissatisfied with the customer service. That s why I stay at Marriott properties. They hold high standards for all levels of customers, whether you re a platinum or gold- Marriott/SPG do their best to accommodate you or find ways to compensate for the inconvenience. If their was an option for half a star Crowne Plaza would get that.

Great location in closeness to Burbon St. Live band/music on the second floor...do not expect quiet. It's not extremely loud but just know it going in. The bed type is fairly firm. Springy but not spongy. I would definitely stay again.

This is the only Crowne Plaza hotel I ve stayed in (once in 1985 and once in 2019), so I cannot compare it to the others around the world. I felt as though our room was excellent! Very clean, accommodating and comfortable. I wouldn t call it luxurious, but certainly not dumpy or in need of repair. The lobby etc was very nice, check in in the middle of the night was quick, the valet service was perfect. That s my only downvote, but really not their fault that they don t have a lot on premises. They are on the corner of Bourbon, so real estate is limited. The valet was quick to retrieve our vehicle at check out. The bonus is being literally on Bourbon, so walking distance to everything. That s also a downside, as there are many very intoxicated people just hanging around, and they always seem to want to converse with me. But it s NOLA! What else can you expect?

Hotel and staff are awesome! We stayed for New Years and felt very safe. I didn't give it five stars because there were some cleanliness issues with the room. i.e. glass rings on the tabletops (like from recent as if it wasn't cleaned or even wiped), body hair all over in the bath tub (about 20 or so), body hair in the bed - maybe they forgot to clean the room all together? I am not squeamish about this kind of stuff but it doesn't mean I didn't notice it. There were a lot of items upgraded already but the tub needs it bad. The lobby is beautiful and everyone was very friendly.

Just checked in. Was in line for valet over 45 minutes to find out there was none. If i would have bern alone or had a child with me it would have been really bad. My husband to park close to the Roosevelt Hotel. Something very wrong with this.Room is nice but if you can't get to it.

Very nice looking hotel. Downfall is no microwave or mini fridge. Also the vending machine takes only debit and its $2 for a water. We also had a rat in our room! As well as 2 or 3 other guest that i spoke to while staying there!
