The worst experience staying in a hotel. Came for a bachelorette weekend and have had to change rooms four times. Rooms had visible mold on the wall. Icing on the cake was the bed bugs! Yes bed bugs. The manager and security came up and said they ve never had a case this bad. they moved us again and heat treated our stuff. The manager said they could not move us to the sister hotel. Said she would only comp 1 night stay until the room was inspected the next morning. No one reached out to us regarding the inspection, we went to speak to the PM manager he stated the inspection didn t happen until 4 o clock and orkin said it came bk negative for bed bugs. But we have video of the bedbugs along with security and the manager confirming the bed bugs! Worst stay for this bachelorette weekend! Calling corporate and the head director . Management was a joke she was highly unprofessional about the mold and bedbugs

Great hotel! Only one bad thing - near the hotel a lot of homeless, alcoholic, drug addicts and just crazy... it was no safety outside. And trash smell everywhere.
So the best way come here and stay only in the hotel with the outdoor pool, restaurant, fitness;)

Room 1318 has lots of elevator noise. Our mattress was pretty stained, the sink didn't drain and water came pouring out of the light fixture over our shower at one point. However, they switched our room no questions asked and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I would say it wasn't worth the $239/night we paid but it was nicer than some of the other options right in the middle of the French Quarter.

I arranged our reservations using the Groupon app. Got a great deal.
From the start of check in we were treated well. We were on the 14th floor. Very clean room with plenty of towels. We had control of the heat/air which was really nice.
We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Excellent food and service.

I have stayed at the Crowne several times now while there for work. It is a very nice hotel. I did run into a few issues this time but nothing major. Mostly like they forgot to leave washcloths and stuff like that. Easily fixable. The only thing is if you need a handicap accessible room and are in a wheelchair you might want to double check on the height of the bed. It was way too high for someone needing to transfer from a chair to a bed. Otherwise it was good.

The hotel is aging. It needs updating and some better upkeep. The lobby area is pristine but the rooms don't seem to get the same TLC. Can't beat the location tho for such a reasonable price. Right on the corner of canal and Bourbon Street. It can get a little noisy at night if your room faces Bourbon Street but it's not too bad. If the rooms were cleaner, I'd have given 4 stars.
Very nice hotel with great location for the action...
Very nice hotel with great location for the action. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights for a small getaway from Atlanta. From the time we arrived to check out time the staff was nice and helpful.
I could have gave it 5 stars however, there was a swingers convention (Naughty in Nawlins) that kicked in on our last night at the hotel that got a little ugly for a few minutes. When they first began to swarm the hotel (assuming they were checking in) everything was fine. My wife and I wasn't told this by the way, when we checked in on Tuesday that this would be taking place and it could affect us. We were headed to our room on the 13th floor when we were stopped and asked for a badge. I quickly showed my room key and the guard stated that I needed to go to the front desk to discuss with them. We went over and the hotel representative walked us back over to the elevator and said they are good. He just asked that we didn't stop on the 2nd floor nor accessed the pool area due to those areas being bought out by the group. Trusting that the proper communication had taken place for those in the same predicament as us, we decided to leave out the room to enjoy our last night on the town and grab a bite to eat.
Returning back to our room would be a real challenge this time. As we were approaching the elevator, the guard (different one) states we can't go to our rooms even after seeing our room key. Walking back from the front desk with the hotel representative, a white male approaches and tells me I couldn't be allowed on the elevator. We explained we went through it earlier and all we need to do is get the guard to talk with the hotel staff. The guy goes, No you can't because we bought this whole side of the hotel. I then stated that he couldn't have bought all of the rooms because we have one on the 13th floor that I'm going to now. The man decides to get closer and ask if we could talk and I explained to him there was nothing to talk with him about. He was so frustrated that he asked the hotel representative to escort us to our room and don't allow us to go anywhere else. She then told us to just get on the elevator and apologized.
There was a guy that was checking out as my wife and I and he had kids. He wasn't pleased that they couldn't enjoy the pool due to everything. We are aware that sometimes wannabe difficult people will cause trouble and I totally understand. However, I feel that the Astor Crown knew they were coming and knew that they had a huge demand to meet. Management should've alerted us during check in and told us that we may experience some unusual guests; have to be relocated to access our room; or just not given a room on that side of the hotel or something!!! Nothing was said and it got very close to being a physical altercation. I don't allow/condone the invasion of space (disrespect) to me or my family... Oh and as far as the homeless goes, they weren't aggressive or even near bad as some of the ones we have in Atlanta.
Our visit was July 5th - July 7th.

I had reserved a room with a king bed, but upon arrival, we were told we would have to be switched to 2 queens. There was maintenance being done to the building, so there really wasn't much that could be done about it. The lobby was nice, rooms were clean, except for our bath tub. The beds were comfortable. The only other thing that would have been nice would be a mini fridge.

Bed bugs in the rooms! & a rat seen in the lobby !...
Bed bugs in the rooms! & a rat seen in the lobby ! It was horrible. They took my bags to be treated for bedbugs and didn't return any of my clothes for around 12 HOURS including overnight time.
Beware of horrible customer service; i was told by the manager that instead of waiting on them to bring me my treated suitcase I should have put back on the clothes I wore the night before (I wore them in the infested room) to go get my car. What kind of hotel tells it's customers to put on bedbug clothes?!?!? Needless to say my parking meter ran over because I didn t have safe clothes. I had to ask the hotel manager if she even had a heart bc she was so rude. No one deserves this kind of uncompassionate and unprofessional treatment .
I was told that my room was free and they weren't liable for any of my incidentals because of their bedbugs. Later I found out the hotel did not credit the full amount for both nights back on the card. I stayed in 3306 after they moved me the second time, on the older wing of the hotel.
NOONE EVER EVEN SAID SORRY with the slightest hint of sincerity! It was crystal clear that if I didn't take pictures; they would not help. Both times when the bugs were reported I was told they needed pictures. Well, I took them and put them on Yelp to warm other customers about my experience!
I am writing this as a warning to other customers who want peace of mind during their stay. I was not cared for to my satisfaction and at this point I want nothing from the hotel. I had no peace of mind during / after the stay and I don t feel like they cared to make sure I was receiving good service /response. They did hear treat my bags twice and move my room, but honestly; i don t feel they tried to do it in a timely or reasonable manner.
Both assigned rooms were without comforters, & the sheets that didn t even fit the beds. We couldnt get a change of towels the first night & the second night we couldn t get anything other than a dry towel. Also, the tv in the room was broken (photo attached yelp). I couldn't even order room service because i seen a rat in the lobby. I ll post pictures of the bug I photographed(photo attached yelp) . this isn t a place I would recommend to my worst enemy because of terribly poor customer care and service.

Can't beat the location of this hotel. The staff at the front desk were friendly. The restaurant/bar in the hotel are a great addition as well. However I would not stay here again. The bed in the rooms sunk in the middle making for a horrible sleeping experience. They were also made of plastic so every movement was extremely loud. The pillows were hard as well. We could also hear conversations going on outside our room perfectly. The street noise was to be expected. Our room was never cleaned. The maid finally came by at 5pm but we were getting ready for dinner so we asked if she could come back in 15 mins. She never came back. We also called the front desk to ask if the hotel had a sewing kit and they said they would call back but never did. For 500 dollars for 2 nights I would expect slightly better quality and service.

Despite arriving around 4:30, or about 30 minutes after the stated check in time the room was not ready. Was told that I would get a call when it was ready. Wasted some time in the bar and decided to inquire at the desk as it was now close to 6 and I was still waiting on the phone call and was quickly dismissed and told to wait for the call before talking to them again. Went out to dinner and still had not been contacted as of 8 at which point I simply played dumb at the desk, pretended to be checking in for the first time, and found that the room and actually been ready for a while. To top it off housekeeping had forgotten to restock the coffee cups in the room despite all the extra time to get the room ready. Very disappointed with my stay here.

My entire family just stayed here for a long weeke...
My entire family just stayed here for a long weekend, occupying 5 rooms. While the general stay was "fine", there were some oddities I found with the hotel. Starting with the front desk. In general, the staff came across as clueless about procedures such as check-in and it took a total of 3 people to complete my check-in. The rest of the family had similar experiences at different times of the day.
My room was fine, and while it faced Canal St, it was still quiet enough. However several family members who stayed across the hall in interior rooms that were much larger found the rooms to be relatively sparsely furnished. All rooms only had a single lounge chair with no side table. The bigger rooms had ample space for a small dining table and chairs, instead, the hotel simply left the space empty.
Other than the grand lobby, the rest of the public spaces that I observed had a look of being half done. If it was a design choice, I'd call it a fail. And I kind of couldn't get the sense of "The Shining" out of my head, nor the line "Red Rum Red Rum" from the same movie.
My general take away, it felt like a hotel that was well on its way to being renovated, and that they simply ran out of money and were forced to stop.
Would I stay here again? Possibly, but it would not be my first choice.

Dark unwelcoming hallways, rooms were extremely stuffy, definitely not a variety of complimentary things you'd normally see with thier other chains. The staff was great and the lobby area was nice as well for socializing. Which is the reason for the 2 stars.

Its a shame because i love the hotel but they allowed the displaced people from the hurricane stay there which is admirable but they are congregating in the front of the hotel, following no safety protocols no marks, smoking and drinking. The lobby is full of police and red cross associates. I felt very uncomfortable and in a city born and bred man. They really should have some control of the curb appeal...... or lack there of

I have always heard great things about this hotel. Unfortunately it was not a wonderful stay for us. We did not have hot water for showers Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. With it 30 degrees outside and having to take a cold shower was it for me. I could take the little stuff like the bathroom door didn't shut. The lobby smelling like sewage backed up. Then there was Nothing in the room but q bed and tv. I get there's Covid. But no microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot nothing. Paying that kind of money for just a bed and TV is crazy to me.

It was a bit frustrating to continuously change rooms on such a short stay but it worked out in compensation.

I am an IHG Spire Elite member who spends 150 nigh...
I am an IHG Spire Elite member who spends 150 nights a year in hotel rooms. This is the worst hotel in the United States for its price. Here are the highlights:
1. No room service for a week. At one point I was calling the Front Desk, Manager and Guest Services every hour seeking an update on when I could get towels or the room cleaned, nobody answered or returned messages. Not once. So if you aren't willing to wake up at 7 am on vacation to have your room cleaned, they won't come back. I found the cleaning lady in the hallway and was told, "I get off work in 20 minutes, I'll come back at 8 am tomorrow" (she never did).
2. Hidden fees. The hotel implemented this orange wristband policy. Even if you had your room key and id, you couldn't enter the hotel if your name wasn't on the original reservation. My niece stays 45 minutes away and wanted to come by and visit for an hour, grab coffee and show me her recent paintings. Hotel security told her "go away or go to jail, NOW." I came down and explained she was just stopping by for an hour and they pointed to the Starbucks across the street and told us to go there, unless I wanted to purchase a security wristband for her for $100 cash only.
3. The room. I booked a Suite for the week, it was pathetic. No mini-fridge, small, dirty, and smelled like someone pissed in it if you let it get warm enough. No room changes were permitted and I was told it's "just how old hotels smell." I asked to be relocated to another IHG property in town and was told everything was booked and a refund would not be permitted.
4. Everything was "out of order." The pool, the fitness room, the restaurant. Everything was closed for Mardi Gras, the hotel was nothing more than an overpriced motel 8 bed to sleep on. I've never seen a hotel use being a full capacity as an excuse for shutting everything down and treating everyone like garbage before - go to any Super Bowl or World Cup and the staff are actually happy to have a full, vibrant, hotel.
First of all, when your hotel is in a location lik...
First of all, when your hotel is in a location like this, why in the world would you put your suites on the 5 and 6th floors? My "suite" had one view, and that was of the people in a hotel across the street sitting on their balcony. Second, the furniture in my "suite" looked like it had been purchased at a discount hotel used furniture warehouse. None of the furniture matched and it all looked old and worn. If you book a "suite" at this location thinking your going to walk into some fabulous space, with an amazing view of the French Quarter, you are going to be horribly disappointed. Finally, I walked from one end of the French Quarter to the other, I stopped once for a drink and once to look in a shop. The entire walk took me approximately 30 minutes. Considering this, I do not understand why it took valet 45 minutes to get my car from a garage located in the back of the building. I even called ahead before I came down. If you are thinking, well you should have parked your car yourself, please know that self parking at this hotel is not an option. If you want your car parked, its either valet or nothing. The front desk staff and the cleaning people are very nice and attentive, however, I can only assume that the management of this location doesn't care what the rooms look like. Hopefully, someone from IHG corporate will take notice of all the negative comments and whip this place into shape. It really is a waste of a good location to have such dumpy horrible rooms. Oh and no glasses in the rooms or "suites", you either drink from a small clear plastic solo cup or you drink out of your hand. I was informed by a member of the catering staff that glass was not allowed in the rooms. I think that this is the most insane and ludicrous policy that I have ever heard of. I might understand if I stayed here during Mardi Gras, but my stay was well after. Unless your a group of frat boys or coming to N.O. for a bachelor party, you would be well served by staying at one of the many nice hotels on Canal Street.

NEVER staying here ever again.
Not only did someone go through our bags, they stole 2 iPhones and a wallet. When we were moved to another room for security purposes, we found mice just mingling about
(we have video evidence). The presumed manager acted annoyed and gave us an attitude stating that we could just stay in the room or be moved to the only available room . We were put in a room next to the elevator shaft and could hear the noises all night long. When we were checking out, the actual manager, stated that he was appalled that we were put in that room and that there were plenty of vacancy. The parking was $42 a night and just not worth it.

Nice place, clean rooms. A downside is the $42/night parking for regular sized, or $52/night for oversized vehicle parking, even as a guest of the hotel.. no refrigerator or microwave in the room, but a fridge upon request for $25 for your whole stay. Would stay here again, but would definitely like to get free parking for staying at the hotel.

Staff was nice & professional. Accommodations were very clean. Room has nice, simple decor. Conference room was perfect. Great location to Bourbon Street & a Walgreens conveniently located right across the street.
-The floor assignment were confusing. There are two 2nd floors & two 3rd floors. The floors themselves are uneven throughout my room & even the hallways. Also the hotel is really close to all the street parties. Just be aware in case you're sensitive to noise. you can hear all the music & party goers, unless you're at least on the 5th floor & the room isnt facing the street. And the beds squeaked loudly like squeezing balloons.

Unclean, mismanaged and utterly disappointing. When I first stayed at this hotel several years ago, I was shocked to find hair in my made-up bed-sheets and pillows. After housekeeping corrected the problem, I thought it was just a one-time incident and I never made a fuss about it. However, on my second stay there, which ended a few days ago, I concluded that it might not have been a one-time thing after all. Housekeeping kept skipping my room and I had to call to have my room cleaned. Finally, I decided to complain to the manager. To my surprise the clerks at the front desk did not even know the last name of their manager. I was later assured by the manager that it would never happen again. To my dismay, I came back to my room the following day with my room still uncleaned. I called the manager again and I was told that he would call me back. He never did. I had to go down to the front desk after waiting for an hour and a half to find him. Still, no one could tell me his last name. If customers are their first priority in this hotel, I certainly did not feel like it. After encountering such bad experience, I just had to point out other things that made my stay there the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The first I noticed was the furniture in the lobby, some of which were so dirty that I found it hard to believe that the management still considers them useable, much less presentable, especially for a hotel that considers itself upscale. Then their wi fi was horribly unreliable and often nonexistent for the first 5 days of my 7-day stay. In today s business world, that is a big deal. I had to cross the street to Starbucks to get my work e-mail. After that, even the littlest of things started annoying me, like the broken lamp in my room and the tiny window in my room with a view. I will definitely not stay in this hotel again. I am even considering dumping my IHG rewards program and take my business to another hotel group. Don t ruin your visit to exotic New Orleans by staying in this hotel.

Had to ask for a microwave, and I got sick because it was so cold inside of the hotel but hot outside. And the cards that they give you to unlock your room don't always work because of the range of your phone to the card. Very convenient location to the French Quarter, but awful customer service from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. I lot of the customer service issues are do to lack of training in my opinion. Also saw multiple cockroaches in my room and the hallway smelled like an animal had died in it. The shower curtain is too short for the shower so the bathroom floor is constantly soaked and a slipping hazard. I went here for my one year anniversary and the hotel did absolutely nothing to make the experience memorable. I also purchased the breakfast each day for $8 per person. Unfortunately, I had a morning flight before the restaurant opened and the front desk attendant wouldn't refund the breakfast that I was unable to attend.

We stayed here for New Year's 2016. The beds are uncomfortable and cheap. The room was over priced approx. $300 per night and no fridge or microwave or continental breakfast. We stayed on the 6 floor and had to go to 5th floor for ice because our floor's was broken. The valet parking was approximately $45 per night. When departing hotel they took us on a shuttle van with others to a parking lot with a sign posted for public parking $25. We then had to unload and load our own luggage. That is stealing from the hotel customers and misleading a valet service. We could not get the room thermostat to work on F and had to use C but still had problems. The only good thing about the hotel is the location for street car and Bourbon St. Also, Wi Fi charge was approximately $19 per day.
