Great products and service. Very satisfied with the quality, and the salespeople are very courteous and communicative.

I purchased a wood bed frame from Cotton Cloud. Love it - smooth and beautiful wood work. A few month later, I could not find the tool and assembly instruction when I need them. I went back to the store to inquire help and Sakeena was very patient and helpful. This experience makes me feel that Cotton Cloud not only has good product but also excellent customer service. Cotton Cloud Futons has always been my favorite place to buy futons, and I have bought several over the years. I have also bought furniture.
They came to deliver my recent order and were running early, which was so appreciated! Then when I discovered I'd ordered the wrong size, they took it back and Mack called me back right away to get the right size ordered. The delivery and customer service people were all very polite and pleasant to interact with! Thanks for a positive experience.

Great place with great products.
This is a Oregon owned place that sells Oregon made high quality futons and futon mattresses. They custom make futons based on a sizable catalog of frames, finishes, sizes, mattress construction, and fabrics.

I just bought one today and I'm so happy with the process. It'll take 7-10 business days to process, but that's significantly faster than an item I recently bought from West Elm which was on back order and took 90 days.

If you're in the market for a futon, I recommend checking this place out.

My only gripe is the fact that their showroom doesn't have the best light. So when checking finishes and fabrics for color, ask to look at them in sunlight.

We worked with a young man named Nick. He was very knowledgeable and really helped us. We are from out of town so we had to be quick and make choices. Because he knew the product it was easy. We needed to come back and pick up something we ordered. The staff working there is very friendly and kind. It s nice to have all the staff be on top of customer service. Not just one person. What a lovely place to buy a bed you can feel good about. I had somewhat unreasonable expectations about what bed I wanted and how to use it, but the sales associate helped me make the perfect decision for my space :) He also let me know about layaway and I look forward to upgrading my frame and checking out some of the other things they have!

These guys get a 5 for service, and a 2 for quality.

I purchased one of their foam and cotton mattresses and it immediately started to compress. All the rotating and flipping I did barely seemed to make a difference at all. I've had the mattress for 10 months now and there is no way it will make it to the 3 years I was promised.

Really too bad because the people there were extremely helpful and I love the idea of buying a locally made mattress. The price was right too, but I feel like it would have been worth my $$ to buy a more expensive and durable mattress. Won't be going back to this place.

I came to Cotton Cloud as an educated purchaser, having done a lot of research online as well as seeking out highly rated local sellers nearby.

Cotton Cloud did not disappoint with warm and friendly service by DeAna right from the start. DeAna made me feel comfortable trying out a couple of different mattress toppers, advised me about relative positives of each type, and made it easy for me to make a quick choice.

They had the topper I wanted in stock, and I left, immediately gratified and looking forward to sleeping more comfortably tonight.

I was lucky enough to enjoy yoga on a cotton cloud mattress as part of a free yoga series occurring every couple of months. Diana (sp?) made my week. She ran me through a lovely waking yoga routine that I want to bring into my home, and it left me feeling energized and relaxed. She also taught me a lot about mattresses and the mattresses industry, and did so without pushing any products or sales on me --just thoughtful information. I had such a great time talking with her and I loved my relaxing time on their gorgeous natural mattresses. Someday I'd love to own one but for now I have a rad pillow and new morning yoga.

I got the bed of my dreams here. Seriously. I literally sigh with joy every night as I lie down. Check out this business and let their experienced people guide you to your perfect bed too. They also sell lovely pillows made with just as much care.

4 years ago we purchased this King size Luxury + Wool futon from Cotton Cloud. This is is our second purchase from Cotton Cloud and we enjoyed our first futon for over 10 years when it became too hard and compact. I have attached a photo of what the indented futon looks like after 4 short years including flipping this mattress often. I wrote to Cotton Cloud and received a quick response. The brochure when I purchased this futon mentioned the option of "re layering". The response was that this is no longer option. "For those who have been told about our past re-layer options we have been giving a one time 25% discount on a new mattress". Considering I paid 20% off the original price and now have a coupon for a 20% off another purchase...why would I spend this money after only 4 years of sleeping on this poor quality futon. Disappointed in the service and quality of this futon.

Cotton Cloud is a fantastic company; I love their history, the way they do business from sourcing materials to care in the making, to their wonderful store in Portland... wish I'd had more time to window-shop there when I picked up my futon!

When I called to order (I've had a CC futon in the past, and knew it HAD to be CC and no other when I needed to replace the one I have now), Mack was very pleasant and helpful, my order was placed and the futon was ready much faster than the estimate. Mack called me to let me know it was ready and gave me directions for where to park, and when I arrived I was loaded and ready to go so quickly -- thank you for a great experience, everyone. And I expect to be sleeping deep and well on "cotton clouds" for years to come! :)

I'm gonna have to report them to the BBB. Their website gives one price, but when you talk to them directly, it's a higher price. And they won't honor the website price. I'm glad I recorded the call and took a screenshot of the products online.

I appreciate that they have one model, the Hawthorn, that is cruelty-free, chemical free, and local!
As an ethical vegan, I appreciate that I can find a vegan mattress that is affordable and close to home. I believe that sheep shouldn't be exploited for their wool if plant-based alternatives are available. The hawthorn model is cotton and latex! So awesome!!

I bought one of their futon frames 6 months ago and it is the easiest operation futon i have ever owned and i love the dark wood stain.

I had an issue with one of my beds getting Moldy because it was on our basement floor. I called the company and talked to the manager and she was so understanding they issued my credit and I purchased two new beds (with frames) and they are amazing. This is a great company to work with. Kind..real....and human.

I had two interactions with Sakeena at Cotton Cloud and both were very positive. She provided good information about their products and helped me make a decision regarding what would best meet my needs. I felt support but not pressure. We have always had good service at Cotton Cloud and have been satisfied with all our purchases from this store.

I went to the store today after calling 3 times with questions about mattresses. Although I decided to buy a similar mattress for $400 less at another store, I wanted to write about the excellent service I received on the telephone and in person at Cotton Cloud. The salesperson was warm and inviting as well as knowledgable and informative. Should I need other natural items, I will return to Cotton Cloud.

Finally beds and couches that don't make me ill from all the chemical outgassing! Years ago we bought a wool and cotton mattress for my daughter so we knew Cotton Cloud rocks. But this time I loved getting my chemical free couch & throw pillows because not only healthy choices, but also gorgeous covers and wood to choose from, and no pressure sales. Zach was great help in figuring out what works in our budget. I did not imagine I'd have such a gorgeous couch too. I can hardly wait till delivery day!

A bed store so nice we visited twice. I've been sleeping on their pearl mattress for a year now, and I consistently get good sleep on a comfortable bed. A few months ago, we returned to purchase pillows, and I have been very happy with my wool pillow. My partner got their fancy one with millet fill on one side, and it definitely has its own advantages.

For the price of a mattress, cotton cloud can pretty much beat out the competition with better quality materials and the good feeling that comes from knowing it was locally made.

The only place to go for your futon needs! Mack was fantastic from the time I entered the store right though the pick up process. I appreciated the time he took helping with the selection of the perfect futon as well as the cover(which by the way the options are endless). This store has everything you need plus EXCELLENT customer service. The item arrived literally when he said it would. We absolutely love our futon and will definitely go back to Cotton Cloud Natural Beds and Furniture.

Spendy, a la carte pricing. The futons are meh. Nice staff. Pretty furniture but a limited selection of futons in certain builds. Not a good place to buy a futon.

The staff was very helpful! Sameeka (sorry if that's misspelled) helped me find a mattress that fit my sleep needs and budget. I told her what I was looking for and she described a few models and then I tried them out. They were all comfy but I ended up ordering a Pearl. I'll update my review after it comes and I've slept in it some.

We have purchased mattresses for both our kids as they transition out of a crib. It was very important to me to find a mattress that was little to no chemicals and going to last a long time. The employees were very helpful and patient in explaining all the different styles and options that would be a good match for toddlers.

They delivered and put together my bed frame and mattress in under 25 minutes and took care of all the cardboard and packaging. The staff is super friendly and was very helpful!

Love, Love, Love their 2" Natural Latex Mattress Topper! Like sleeping on a cloud. Wish I would have purchased it long ago. And it's naturally anti-bacterial and hypo-allergenic. Dust mite and bed bug resistant.

I placed my order over the phone and had a friend pick up my mattress for me. They were helpful, friendly, and easy to get a hold of when I had to call back. The pick up was made easy and the mattress arrived sound and well. The Pearl Mattress is wonderfully comfortable and the perfect firmness.

Dustin was great! He showed me some great futons, taught me how to maintain the one my mom and I bought from him, and sold me some great pillows. He even helped my mom and me load the futon into our lyft's car. The futon itself was really comfortable, I had a great night's sleep. 10/10 would shop again!

Ordering online is easy and the mattress fits in my hatchback which I parked in the loading zone on 7th Ave with very quick service.

The sales gal, Alyssa, was VERY knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned a lot about the different cottons, latexes, mattresses and longevity
of materials. Now we just have to make a decision on which one to purchase.
Btw, the sales guy at the other store in town could take lessons
from Alyssa. He couldn't be bothered to assist us and there was
no one else in the store!

Justin was very helpful in assisting me with finding just the right futon couch. He explained all the different options and was instrumental in making my decision.

This business gets very high ratings but your mileage may vary. Mine did. I made 4 trips to this store because, despite clearly explaining my needs, the first two futons had to be returned because what they sold me failed to match those needs. The first was hard as a rock. And the second was much too stiff to bend as I clearly explained was mandatory. It was at this point that they said I couldn't return the third one. As though it was my fault that they sold me futons that couldn't hope to do the job. Unfortunately I didn't find out the 3rd one wasn't actually a full size until I laid it on top of the frame I built a few weeks after my purchase. So now I'm going to have to use foam padding to fill it out so I'm not able to recommend this supplier. Again, ymmv.

ONE YEAR UPDATE:
We love our Hawthorne mattress! I suffered from low back pain most my adult life. I knew I needed a very firm mattress and wasted literally thousands of dollars on fancy conventional and foam mattresses. I noticed a difference in the first week with the futon. I can do construction and landscaping all day, come home with an aching, exhausted back but wake up pain free and ready for more! I built a platform from lumber for a rock solid foundation. The mattress has gotten much firmer but we rotate and flip every time we change the sheets. We may go for the Pearl mattress next time; Something a little plusher.

I would give more stars if I could! The store has great ambience and fantastic furniture. We perused their website and emailed with people there before we visited (we live on the coast, two hours away). Today we went and picked out our mattress and were on our way in record time. Although everyone we met was knowledgeable and friendly, Dustin was amazing! Kind, honest and soft-spoken, he gave us space, great conversation and answered all of our questions. He and a very nice coworker loaded our mattress for us. We can't wait to visit again. We will write another review for the mattress after we try it out!

We love our new shikibuton mattress! We use in in the drop-down bunk in our motorhome and find it is very comfortable. DeAna even called the factory for us to be sure that it would arrive before we left on our trip.

Reasonable prices, futon was good quality. The rep was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and I appreciated his willingness to reconfigure the furniture on the floor so we could see how comfortable the futon was both in bed and couch form. He even helped load everything into the truck.

Posting this after our second straight positive experience at Cotton Cloud - the first being when we lived locally in Portland and now once more after having moved across the country.

We loved our first mattress from them - was as advertised. Super comfortable, just firm enough, affordable, and made with eco-friendly materials as a bonus. Great customer service both in-store and throughout the ordering process. We were using an odd Yelp coupon but they still worked with us to make sure everything went smoothly.

Just completed our second order today, and it was more of the same patient and friendly customer service as before, even though this time we were shipping one of their mattresses across the country and using another weird coupon. Their order processing system was down at first so we had to try again the next day, but it wasn't a big deal.

Looking forward to sleeping on our new Cotton Cloud soon!

We've bought furniture here twice, very happy both times. Good customer service, nice store. The first time, we bought a bed that had to be ordered. Good communication, good followup by them.

Second time, we bought a futon, and again good customer service and followup. Called us back when they said they would to get updates on fabric availability for a cover. Seem committed to ethically sourced materials and locally made furniture.

Love their futtons. I've bought 3 over the last 20 years. 2 for myself, and now one for my son. I'm a customer for life.

Customer service was attentive but relaxed. I went in knowing what frame I would likely buy, and was walked through the different mattresses that would fit my needs with detailed explanations of their features, no hard upsell. I ended up spending a little more than I had intended, but there was stock available in my original price range if I didn't want to do that.

I have bought 2 futons and a latex mattress - all with the simple frames. I could not be happier! The latex is the best bed I've ever had- it is well worth the investment. And the futon and basic frame is a great bed at the best price. Also the service at this store has been fantastic every time.

The futon is well-made, including a strong zipper, beautiful thick fabric, and everything is natural. It was also very reasonably priced while high quality. I like the authentic and personable connection Cotton Cloud makes with you as a buyer too. Production on my custom order and shipping was very fast. Plust it was packaged perfectly. Visiting cotton cloud is a blissful experience. I just wanted to lay in the bed all day. The staff are amazing and the mattresses and bedding are top notch. Highly recommended !

Have visited the store and bought directly, as well as ordering over the phone - a few things. two mattresses, some mattress covers, some pillow covers, and now a duvet. quality of everything has been great so far (we are about 6 months in on the mattresses). sometimes the turnaround time from ordering to shipping has been a little wonky, but they are great over the phone and via email with follow-up with any concerns. i will continue to order from them for my natural bedding needs. i love their options and that their stuff is made locally.

After not-so-great experiences with other small local mattress shops, my husband and I were super pleased with our experience and purchase at Cotton Cloud. We were looking to replace the mattress on a wood futon frame that we bought from them 20 years ago that we use as a sofa and guest bed, and weren't even sure if they were still around anymore.
Fortunately they were and they not only had similar prices to what we paid in the 1990s, they're still owned by the same woman who still handcrafts the mattresses in Portland to this day!
We went on a Saturday and the place was busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. We wanted a similar futon to what we had before, but couldn't remember which one it was. After describing it to the staff, they knew what it was immediately and told me they had one in stock. And instead of recommending the slightly expensive delivery option, they suggested that we could fit our new mattress into the backseat of our little Toyota, which meant that we could enjoy our new mattress much sooner.
On the way out we couldn't help but notice all the sweet mattresses and frames which reminded us that it was probably time to replace our own bedroom mattress and since we were already there.. We chose one of the latex mattresses that they make with wool and had it delivered a few weeks later.
Do not worry about price much, it is money well spent. I say this as an experienced old lady now... we purchased this about a year or two ago and both mattresses today are still as comfortable as ever and the bed even seems to mysteriously alleviate my night sweats.
We are very happy customers of a lasting and valued business in the Portland community.

I went back in to buy a natural material pillow. I had seen on their website that they have natural latex core pillows with wool and cotton outer cushion. Salesperson showed us all styles. These were very comfy and turned out they were on sale so we bought two! Wonderful healthy bedding products!

My experience started and ended well but was really bad in the middle. We ordered a frame. When we went to pick it up (lame employee Zach) gave us 3 out of 4 needed boxes to build the frame. When I called about this mistake, I was told I would have to wait 5 days to get the missing piece delivered. Luckily, our sales person Max drove out the piece to my home so we only had to wait 2 days. The Nutmeg futon frame is really nice. Thank you Max.
