Allenberry Playhouse Review

Nice place. It's been recently rrenovated and has a really modern feel. The food was reasonably priced and really good, as well.

It was a very beautiful venue. The food quality and the service was very top notch. I would like to see a little more variety and a chef on site rather than a caterer.

We fished through this resort while on the yellow breeches. The grounds looked well maintained, staff were friendly and waved and the beautiful river is right there! This resort would be excellent for anyone looking to fly fish and stay over night in the area.

Attended most recently for a wedding. The location is beautiful. The food was great and the service was as well.

What a great location for a wedding. The amenities were fancy, the staff was friendly, the grounds and buildings were beautiful. Loved all the big old Catalpa trees everywhere.

From a long-standing member of community Allenberry is in, I can attest this establishment has been very tastefully renovated by new owners in last couple years. But for some bewildering reason they have felt compelled to make their political views very public with a straight Republican litany of political signs at their entrance. Makes no sense from a business sense - why portray this impression to your patrons instead of a welcoming, warm atmosphere to all. So if you love Trump, you'll probably like this place.

Went to trout fish and it was awesome, dams, railroad bridges, allenberry play house, all 5 star fishing

New renovations have made the place look good. The food and staff were great.

I have been going to Allenberry for the Murder Mystery for 19 years...hope they have it for my 20th. I am sad to see that they are trying to sell. We have had so many fun times throughout the years. The cast and I mean all of them have been amazing each year. The food is good, if you go hungry it is your own fault. I have said for years they should cut down on the food, way to much. So many memories....

Holly Hannah!! I have loved going to the newly renovated Allenberry restaurant for Sunday brunches. But last nights dinner was over the top!! If I had to pick the last meal I was ever going to eat, it would be the Chicken Saltimbocca!! OMG. You have to try this. The service was great as always, the ambiance lovely, but the meal, OTT!!!

Having a wonderful, relaxing weekend at Allenberry Resort. Flyfishing with Guide Neil Sunday has been fabulous. He made a hot day fun and cool in the Hallowed waters of the three rivers here at Allenberry. Caught wild brown trout and wild rainbow Room was lovely. Food was great and you can not beat the relaxing sound of the Yellow Breeches River flowing by

My company had our Christmas Lunch party at The Barn restaurant on the resort. The place was absolutely beautiful!! It was decorated in a lovely rustic Christmas theme. The food was delicious as well; except the chicken was dry like it had been sitting on warm for a while. Otherwise the mashed potatoes were amazing as well as the desserts, particularly the sticky buns. Staff were all very pleasant and welcoming.

Excellent service! My mother got stung by a bee and the staff came out with ice for her and everyone was very curteous. The food was delicious, and it's overall a lovely atmosphere. The room my parents stayed in didn't have a kitchenette, which was quite inconvenient, but the stay was short so it wasn't much of a problem. Lovely scenery, but the grass did turn our shoes orange for some reason..nothing a good wash can't fix! Wonderful experience!

Live music on the patio every Thursday from 7 to 9pm! Great appetizers and cocktails.

This place is amazing! What a great setting to just spend time at. The sounds of meticulously kept the buildings are a cool and well taken care of piece of history. And if you're an angler the fishing is awesome!

First and foremost this place is absolutely beautiful. Bulidings are located along a gorgeous river where you can hear trout jumping throughout the day. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. One of the best resort experiences I've had

Meal was okay, vegetable too well done. We were given a choice of three different menu options; four course dinner, three course dinner or a two course dinner when the reservations were made. When we arrived, we had only one menu choice, which was three course dinner. Kinda like a bait and switch. I was planning to opt for the two course dinner, but wasn't given that option. Not sure if I will return.

It was an enjoyable experience, I felt very relaxed with a walk around the property before eating lunch. Food was good as well. The beer selection was good, but felt lacking with actual variety of styles.

Had a problem with the reservation, but the staff went above and beyond to make it right. Beautiful scenery, fishing steps from lodging, fantastic food, incredible staff. First time guest, but can't recommend it enough.

I love this place so much! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. Not to mention the Staff let me get in the water from their property for free so you can fish and kayak all you want down there! Great place!

I just bought a a wonderful gift card package for a friend and I know his wife will enjoy it as much as him. Double hit to make it a special day. Cody went out of his way to explain everything about schedule and process to get the gift card so they have the flexibility to do it when they can enjoy it. Great atmosphere and location for company event. Friendly staff and good food.

Great permanaces for the play loved it but just thought drink and food prices were a little high and going to another building for the bathroom was crazy.

The location is super relaxing and beautiful! The staff seems to do a little bit of everything. I was there for a wedding and the transportation staff was also the wait staff for the event. Everyone was great. But the restaurant Sunday morning kept running out of ingredients to make some of the brunch staples.

We went to the theatre and walked the grounds and visited the restaurant---it was lovely!

We received terrible service at The Barn. Over 1 he 30 min to get out lunch. The Play house was wonderful

The fried cheese isn t worth $15 and the mushroom ricotta chicken is very bland. Unless you re trying to impress somebody with a nice view, don t spend the money.

Only went to the play house.The play was fun. The actors were good for the level of experience they have. 1st time to the resort since new ownership. Physical improvements are impressive

The Allenberry Resort is a very beautiful resort. I only came for one of the plays in the playhouse, but service and the actors were great.

If you travel to Central PA, this is your spot to stay. Great food, setting and lodging. The renovation and rebirth of this place is real.

Recently saw a great puppet show at the allenberry playhouse. Was quite a delight and the grounds to the resort look fresh and renewed.

Great place for a show I've enjoyed my last three trips there

The lunch area patio was lovely and shady on the weekday we went. We had vegetarian burger and burger with delicious side dishes. We shared the gluten free chocolate cake. All the food was fresh and deligjtful.

A delightful place since childhood, the new owners are doing an amazing job keeping up thos gorgeous old school resort including the restaurant and playhouse!

It's better than before but still has a ways to go.

Allenberry under its new ownership is off to a great start. The food is better than it was before, and they still have their famous sticky buns. All of the venues have been renovated and the premesis is beautiful.

Food and beverages are super classy and the setting looks fantastic with the remodel. However, the prices match the ambiance and you'll find the drinks nearing $10 and a burger coming near $20.

Beautiful new resort, grounds are very well kept. Seems like a great place for a weekend getaway or a special event like a wedding. There's a huge tent on the grounds that could support a large outdoor event. The restaurant has a great patio that overlooks the back grounds and creek. Very pretty. Great place to go for happy hour or even dinner.
