It is a real luxury to get picked up directly from a downtown Manhattan hotel and whisked to Newark airport during rush hour. The driver was early (I usually am as well, so it worked out well.) He was very courteous and an excellent driver. I highly recommend Carmel. Disclaimer: I will get a $10 credit next time I use Carmel, but that makes no difference in the excellent service I received.

Had good experiences before, but just had a bad experience that I've tried to tell the company about, but they don't care to call back after numerous emails and phone calls. Driver drove like a madman (looked at his phone, didn't signal when erratically searching, hard breaking and accelerating, etc.) and the car smelled of cigarettes.

In the last week I have used Carmel for rides from JFK to Manhattan round trip. The drivers were courteous, came on time, and listened when I asked them to take a specific route. the carmel experience was so much BETTER than all previous rideshare service nightmares i have had. the one mix up was the terminal. however that was negated by the great calls to - and from! - customer service for checking in after we landed and follow up to confirm our location for pickup at newark airport. yes, carmel is more expensive than the blue nightmare but remember the old adage: you get what you pay for!!! so pay for carmel, get a great, timely, smooth ride. you'll be glad you did.

I don t think I ll ever take a cab from JFK again. Booking the car was easy from the phone near baggage claim.
Less expensive than a cab, a Lyft, or an Uber, and I didn t have to share the van and wait for four other people to get dropped off.
The car got there quickly, and was easy to find. The ride was smooth and comfortable. I really didn t need anything more than that.

I recently took Carmel Car to the airport. The service was excellent, driver was professional and courteous. I felt safe with his driving. He was on time, maybe a little early. A great experience.
Tips are discretion of customer and states it on the agreement I received from Carmel. After the driver picked our party up and was in route to the airport, he said it was 21$ tip that had to be paid. Well, he had us where he wanted us because we could not make arrangements fast enough to get to the airport. I will Never use them again. I decide the amount of tip that I give and usually is 20% for good service not 30%.
This was the best experience that I have had with a car service from LGA to Midtown Manhattan. The last trip I made, the company lost my reservation and I waited longer for a new vehicle than what the trip actually took.
The service from reservation to drop off was far superior to other services I have used in the past.
Polite, Professional Driver and an excellent vehicle made for a great trip.

I was very pleased wth Carmel's service! The car was in good shape, the driver was early and very professional and friendly. I have used shuttle services because of price considerations but I have decided that the extra cost is worth it knowing that my ride will be there at a designated time and not having to drive all over Manhattan just to eventually get to my destination.

Truth, I was left stranded by the shuttle service that never came. I could not even get past the robovoice on the phone and the "driver" did not respond to my texts. In a panic I remembered that my friend recommended Carmel. I called and quickly got through to a human - yeah! She said a car would pick me up in 15 min. In exactly 15 mins the car was there! I got to the airport on time. No problem. Coming back I could not use my app on my cellphone so I called and again got through to a human immediately - yeah!. A car would pick me in up in 7mins! and yes, within that time frame the car was there! The driver took my bag up the stairs to my building. All went really well. I recommend this service. You have to be a meshugenah to use them. Ordered a car for 5 am pick up for airport 5 people. Car never showed up and Carmel never even apologized just feeding us soon, soon if we did not get a cab (Which was 10$ cheaper) we would be late for a plane.
But they refunded my money same day. Well I see other people like them but for me 1st time use was a very bad experience.

We are from Australia and we flew into JFK late at night from London after visiting our daughter in the UK.
Carmel was recommended by an agent of Amex who is a relative of our son-in-law. We received a great recommendation from this person and we checked Carmel out.
I saw some negative reviews before booking but given the recommendation we were prepared to give Carmel a go - and are very glad that we did!
All I can say is that we could not have had a better experience.
We were picked up on time and the very obliging driver was courteous, professional and friendly. He even waited and assisted us to find the key safe to get into our accommodation at about 1.00am.
I don't know anything about the experience of others but we could not be happier and like our Amex contact, we will be recommending Carmel to others visiting New York - including my brother in a few weeks time!

I have found that using Carmel assures me responsible and affordable transportation. I take it to and from places in Long Island and Westchester and NewJersey. A Pleasure to deal with. I used Carmel Car yesterday to go into Manhattan to Doctor's office and return from Doctor's office to my home in Forest Hills, Queens. Both trips were beyond excellent. Not only were they prompt as promised, but each car was cleaned to perfection. Each driver were not only polite but helpful in helping me in and out of said car. I cannot compliment this company and their drivers enough.

My experience with Carmel was not positive at all.
The driver picked us up thirty minutes late in a nasty Toyota Camry,
First of all the car smelled really bad. During the ride to the hotel which was thirty minutes away from Laguardia Airport the driver kept rolling the windows down and he told the dispatcher he was outside of the Airport which was not the case.
I also asked for some bottle water to be in the car and on the day of arrival the dispatcher told me she would not be able to full fill my request. Also I pay the Tip and Tolls in advance which was not used during my trip.
If you need transportation from the airport please don t use this company.

The driver was on time and waiting for us at baggage claim. He helped with luggage, made small talk and escorted us to the SUV. The car could have been better it was old. Our fare with tip, parking and tolls included was 160 dollars from Newark airport to Times Square. I expected to ride in a nicer, newer SUV/black car for this fare but it wasn t bad. The drivers communication skills were excellent and he brought us safely to our hotel.
