I asked them to come look at my AC. They found that a lizard had shorted 2 parts out. I agreed to the $600 charge on top of the $99 service charge. Amazingly, after the parts were replaced, the technician found that the compressor (working fine the day before) was now broken. I told him I did not want the new parts in if I was going to have to replace it. I sought a second opinion. When the second company came, they found the technician had cut the wires to the parts when he removed them. I was unable to even get a second opinion without costly repairs. I don't know what the technician's motives were, but he should NOT have cut the wires. I never agreed to getting a new unit from them. He should have left it exactly how he found it. Blatant or not, I pain $99 to have my unit essentially ruined. I had it replaced from a different company that gave me a quote about half of what the technician gave me (which I later found out he was not supposed to do). Bad experience all around.
