Absolutely disgusting company with even more despicable staff. My wife was involved in a car accident, consequently the other drivers insurance went through Wilber to collect before ever trying to consult with us. My wife set up a payment plan for $260 a month without talking with me. I called, was met with extremely unprofessional and undeserved attitude. I spoke with a manager afterward who was a bit more kind and got the payment reduced to $100 a month. That same day, both a $260 charge and $100 charge were charged to my bank. I called to get this rectified and was greeted by the original, very rude person I dealt with at the beginning. Realizing early into this conversation that I was going to get nowhere with very blatant hostility and being interrupted every time I spoke, I asked for a manager but was told I could not speak with one. I asked why and was told that the manager was not available to me! I asked when I could speak with one and was told I could not speak with one in general. I had already spoken with one! These people are crooks! It's sad to see that with all of the reviews even posted on BBB that these scum of the earth have not been fined/shut down for what they are doing!

I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Brittany; she threatened me, was condescending, and abusive. She told me if I did not give her what she wanted she would see that I was personally sued. When I called back to register a complaint I was told they don't take complaints. These people try to intimidate the individuals; they should be speaking directly to insurance companies but they are to unprofessional to do their own homework. They also don't have all the information regarding the claim so they contact the individual rather than look up the insurance company's info and speak directly to them. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible
Someone on behalf of Wilber & Associates contacted me on Saturday 10/22/2016 (not normal business hours) via my personal cell phone around 12pm with what was referred to as a "recorded phone call". The associate promptly told me with very little introduction that due to the fire at my home this past spring (which I am still currently displaced from) that they were hired by Liberty Mutual Group to pursue damages to one of my neighbors homes on or around the date of the fire...
I asked to receive documentation regarding the claim/damages and the associate from Wilber & Associates developed an extremely short/disrespectful attitude and accused me of not willing to comply... I never mentioned that I wasn't willing to share my insurance information, I simply stated that I would like to review documentation before discussing further over the phone... She , she cut me off, stated that I would be continually pursued for the damages, spoke of legal action, and hung up without giving me a chance to speak... Scare tactics...
I'm someone who pays their bills, I don't break the law, I understand insurance claims, and I'm always willing to comply... I do however ask to be treated with respect and not be treated as though I'm someone who wouldn't do what is best for myself and community... I can't wait to move back in to my home that is currently being rebuilt after an unfortunate house fire in the first year of ownership... With a time as stressful as this - within a year of making my first home purchase it was caught up in a fire at no fault of my own - I can't believe that Liberty Mutual Group or Wilber & Associates couldn't handle business a little bit more professionally...

If I could give a negative rating, I would. Speaking on behalf of my fiance, this agency has been extremely abusive and underhanded toward him. Some may say they are a legal firm, but in all actuality, they are a debt collection agency that utilizes attorneys. As such, they have certain state and federal legal requirements to which they must adhere.
My fiance does not dispute that he has a debt he is legally obligated to pay. He is not trying to shirk his responsibility, but has been attempting to work with this firm toward a mutually acceptable agreement. He has spoken with his "handler" and her supervisor on a number of occasions. The handler is the aggressive person who consistently reminds him that it's all his fault and he needs to pay for it. He knows that - she doesn't need to keep hammering him with it. He has tried to come up with a reasonable payment plan, only to have her constantly tell him it's not enough and he's not working with them. He's had more success with the supervisor. So, they finally came to a verbal agreement and were supposed to send it to him in writing to look over and sign. It was supposed to take 10-14 business days to arrive. It was almost a month before it arrived and included terms that had not been discussed and some that contradicted what had been agreed upon. His handler continues to threaten him with having his driver's license suspended unless he signs this contract. He doesn't want to sign it because it is not mutually acceptable. This is not to say he is trying to avoid his responsibility. Quite the contrary. He made the required down payment and is working on making the required monthly payments in spite of not having this agreement set in place. He has been acting out of good faith while they have done everything but.
Wilber and Associates uses the loopholes in the law to their advantage as well as intimidation tactics to accomplish their goals. They prey upon people's fears, lack of education, and ignorance of their rights. They know in many cases these individuals do not have the financial wherewithal to obtain legal counsel they could so desperately use. They get away with these threats because they can legally make them, but it does not mean these threats are proper.
It shouldn't matter that a person has made a mistake. Everyone does, but that does not mean that they should be treated with disrespect and contempt. These companies would probably find that most people are willing and want to do the right thing if they were treated better. I've read several reviews concerning Wilber and Associates both here and on the Better Business Bureau and I am convinced that while they operate within the law, they do so unethically. People should not be compelled to forgo their rights in order to avoid unnecessary consequences.
Found that my license had been suspended because of an unresolved debt my husband failed to pay for an accident he had last summer. I can only complain of the facts now. I tried calling and had been redirected to the man named Juan Ortese, who at first was very rude but I got passed that because he explained to me that it is Washington state law that my husband and I being on the same registration caused my license to be suspended. When I got my husband to pay the 538 Juan requested I had no idea that I would be inconvenienced with him sending me an installment agreement with the incorrect spelling of my name. I also got my husband to pay another 150 and then I paid 150 and the balance is now at 200. I have called back and requested a correction be made so that I can have the document notarized and still have been told by him that it was sent to my email address and that he would call me back. This has gone on long enough now. I was more than cooperative and clear to the point about what I wanted to a manager and they would just transfer me to the Juan guy who would just hang up the phone on my husband. I was told by my husband that he had been hung up on before but until today I didn't believe it until I heard for myself when Juan told me to hold on and I heard ringing for at least a minute after he announced who he was and that I was on a recorded line. I have children to pick up and drop off and this is a huge problem not having my license. This has gone on long enough. I looked up Wilber and got the list of directors so I plan to contact them and hopefully get a simple email of this installment agreement. This seems as though it is some type of sick joke. Really unnecessary rudeness and procrastination on his part. I will remove my comment when my rights have been replenished.

Naturally when I started dealing with Wilbur &associates I was very nervous and scared I was at fault in an accident a year ago and josh contacted me to let me know my options going forward he was very kind and professional helping set up payment plans that I could afford never pushy or rude. The main example could be this morning I missed a payment for the first time because I switched bank cards and forgot to let josh know, he simply called me and let me know that the payment hadn't gone through we fixed the issue and had a nice chat. This company isn't scary if you are willing to come to the table with them to disscuss solitions. Thank you for not making this scary Wilbur and associates!

I've told them over and over that I sold the car. I am about to get an attorney to sue them for harassment.. I thought it was against the law to call and haress people. This Law Firm should have a no rating, no stars. Very unprofessional.... Please Please Please don't patron this company at all. They're full of threats, always trying to suspend your license. I can't believe they are still in business with practices like this. It just doesn't take all of that to get payment or settle a debt. Customer service skills and training are definitely in order, maybe a whole month. Better Business Bureau will get a report about their practices. If more people are aware of the way they treat others maybe their business will go out of business. They Suck.....
A little over 2 years ago, I received a letter from Wilber & Associates saying I owed thousands for an accident I was never in and happened to be out of state during the supposed accident was in happened. Not only was I out of state, but the vehicle I was supposedly driving wasn't even mine. I looked up the accident report and contacted the state troopers involved in the accident. A very kind state trooper wrote me an apology and a detailed report of another man that was the fault and cause of this accident, not myself and he went down to court and had everything amended and vacated. I lost my license, I had to go to court and in the end I didn't have to pay anything because the state trooper wrote to Wilber and Associates and I just got my license back. Well, their name came back to haunt me again because they suspended my wifes registration when she didn't even get in any accident. They took another claim involving my name AGAIN and are asking for over 8 grand for an accident I was in over 2 years ago. I was uninsured, I had my license suspended again this time from an accident I was in. It is wrong to hold your wife's registration ransom just to force someone to pay someone else's debt. It's classic mafia tactics. I have just filed bankruptcy though in the last few days so now, the DMV told me just to let them know the file number and date and it releases me from the financial responsibility of having to pay that 8 grand. The bankruptcy is happening after the accident so it's too late, I'm not responsible anymore for the damages. So, you guys if you really can't afford to pay these guys thousands of dollars just to get your license back and you need to go bankrupt anyway just do it so you can drive again especially during this pandemic. I mean it's already bad enough with the virus going on the last thing you need is your ability to drive taken away from you when you might have kids, need to go to the hospital, etc. I would give them a zero star If I could because of what they did to me last time with the totally invalid case last time where it wasn't even me driving. Now they are coming after me again for an accident 2 years ago. Ok, well I just filed bankruptcy guys my lawyer will be in touch. Thank God. Lawyer up everyone! It's so much easier if you do. Since there are so many complaints you all should consider a class action lawsuit. There are more than enough cases and might stop a lot of illegal collection practices. They are going against the FTC debt collection practice guidelines which could land them the class action lawsuit they've been waiting for.

I had mercedes dealing with my case today. She was great. I was able to set up a payment plan for an accident i got in that was my fault back in 2017 which i was not covered on my spouses insurance. Now I can start paying the other party back for damages that i caused due to being on my phone. Its so nice to not think our licenses are going to be spended now amd add another problem to the mix. Anyways. Mercedes helped me and even gave me the first 3 months of payment dates and told me how to access the website and all that good stuff. She was the first person I actually felt setting up these payments with. When thos all started happening back in Feb i had some rude nasty man right off the bat was threatening me and my husband with both of our license being suspended for a little over $2,000 which I thought was absurd so I just kind of ignore them for a while block their numbers as many as I could and then someone called me from a different number and I happened to answer and that was a really nice girl and I forgot her name I told her I had to talk to my husband about setting up payments and when I tried to call the number that she had given me to go ahead and do so I was never able to get a hold of her again so fast forward two months till now. Mercedes called me and I automatically knew when she said who she was from why she was calling what was happening but apparently in the state of Maryland if you're involved in an auto accident and your insurance does not cover the other person when you are found at fault they can submit for your license to be suspended through the mva and we dont need that or no one will be getting their money Point Blank. Sje was understanding and i told he abkut the day it had happened and we even laughed a little. I even offered to start payments up bi-weekly and she was actually able to give me the rest of August in my first payment not be due until August 23rd so that was pretty cool because now I can get my kids their back to school stuff. Ask for that other guy I had some country sound in weirdo who soon as he found out that I was the person he wanted to start talking about my license was going to be suspended and I was going to be sued they need to weed out the people like that in their office because they're never going to get anywhere. When it was explained that they have the wrong person with proof of that, they refused to listen and have continuously harassed since. THEY ARE NOT ATTORNEYS!! One lady HUNG UP mid phone call. So in December of 2015 my ex boyfriend slide on the rode and it the back of someone's car. At the time I indeed did not have insurance so I was at first dodging to pay but then they started to threating my mother by trying to suspend her license. I've told them many of times the car is in my name and even sent them a fax of the bill of sells showing them who name the car was in. So I did get on a payment plan. The bill was 1500 even tho I don't think their damage was that much Now fast forward to December of 2016 I filed for bankruptcy put this on there. Call them and noticed them that I filed bankruptcy. About two months later my mother got a bill in the mail from them for the same bill call them again to ask why do they keep sending letters to my mother. I was asked to send the fax of the bill of sales again so I did that and when I called back to make sure they got the fax the lady had an attitude and told me why do you keep calling asking the same thing. I told her I just wanted to make sure it went though before I leave the currency exchange because she keep saying no need to keep calling and hung
I hope anyone that received a call from this place reads these reviews. If you have insurance DO NOT PAY THEM. Call your insurance and make these scam artists deal with them. They didn't have the place of accident right and no clue that we were possibly the target of someone that purposely made sure he sped up so he would be hit. They asked us to have payment in full made in less then 3 weeks but state we have to wait on a "packet" that tells us HOW to pay that can take weeks to be mailed to us. They are beyond arrogant, zero empathy, name a trait that describes a sociopath or narcissist and these people are the embodiment of it. They have unrealistic demands and leave you with zero options then attempt to gas light you into thinking you're ridiculous for being upset. Avoid these people at all costs.

they don't do anything... they are a collection agency not a law firm. claimed they contacted my attorney and said he wasn't representing me. there is no pending court case so there is no need for representation. my lawyer also said he never got any phone call, e-mail, or letter in regards to me or any type of "court action" ... needless to say he will be contacting them this week.

Their scare tactics do not work on people who are well educated and knowledgeable of the situation. And they DO NOT like it at alllllll. That is when they become aggressive and condescending over the phone- its quite funny to be honest. I spoke with corae about an accident I was in where I was at fault, being that I was in a hurricane Michael not too long ago to the person I hit and miss Corae was able to set up payments for a very reasonable amount that I would still be able to live with in order to get this person paid off. She was a very respectful customer service agent who had my current situation in mind when she set up the payments. She was very sweet and respectful and she was very understanding of my situation and I really appreciate her being so considerant and helping me to try to get out from under my debt. Thank you Corae

Fantastic company, everyone there is exceedingly nice. All these reviews about phony letters and such are fake, the letters they send out are real, and you will get in real trouble if you ignore it. If you believe you are getting a letter by mistake then call them and address the issue, find out what documents they have that place you at the scene, it's possible that the police department messed up or that someone used your name. This is not their fault, and the only way to correct it is with your cooperation.
As for the bully issue, that's kind of what a collection agency does. The fact that the agency is trying to collect from you is proof that you ignored your debt, which means they have to change their collection tactics from simple letters to pulling your license. Which they can easily have done, given the proper requirements. You can avoid these bully tactics by simply paying like you're supposed to.
Lastly, Ken Wilber, he is the absolute nicest man on the planet. He donates to charities several times a year, donates to villages in Africa, supports the Jesus House, helps churches, provides for many children who are in custody of the state by buying them Christmas gifts, and funds many community events. He gives employee's days off on his own dime instead of just following government holidays alone, he pays well and treats everyone with the respect they deserve. If everyone were like this man then the world would be a beautiful place. Luckily, the staff at Wilber and Associates follow his lead and volunteer at soup kitchens and various other charity events because they feel the need to help those who are unfortunate.
My experience with this company has been nothing short of amazing, and if you do as you're supposed to and treat the staff with respect then you will also be amazed.
Was pretty hard to settle at first, due to being me having a hard time processing I have to do payments. Nobody wants to pay it sucks. But they do work well with you. Talk and ask questions and you ll get good customer service back.
The African American woman who calls me and makes false accusations about the police report. She is rude and I see why Chicago has the homicide rate that is does come from trash act like trash. Attorney Wilburn if you don't want to litigate this matter in Court where I will destroy your case then why keep having that trash can of a bill collector keep calling my phone. You don't want to go to Court then stop calling me.
They continue to contact me knowing they are not reaching the correct person. They have been warned on a recorded line, and laughed because they don t engage in conversations on recorded lines. But they forgot that many states only require single party approval. So they flat out lie to your face, then when they learn they ve been harassing the wrong person on a recorded line they hang up.
I worked with Daniel and Janiyah and both of them were honestly so helpful! I was going through a lot and getting a call from a collections agency was not what I needed at all but they made me think so differently. From the second my call was answered until we hung up I was met with kind warm hearted people who didn t just pass me along and take my money. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED MY EMOTION!!!! I was stoked. I work in a call center who cares for people and knowing there is another call center out there that wants to help not take is amazing. I hope they get raises!!!
I was called by a Miss Taylor from Wilber's office she did her best to work with me on everything. She even helped me look up a few things that I needed, she was very helpful from where I was concerned.
Allie who introduced herself as an attorney with Wilber was so rude when contacting me about a claim. She threaten me and was insensitive, unprofessional, rude and unpleasant to say the least. I had to speak with another person to get this claim done. I will be contacting the clients they are representing " FRED LOYA" to let them know how Ally conducts business. I will definitely report to Fred Loya and also to the BBB. This company has so many bad reviews because they handle claims in a ugly manner. Justice one day will truly be served in front of God almighty The one and only True Judge and your company and employees will have to give an account on your actions.

I dealt with Terrence about a debt I owed due to a car accident and I was pleasantly surprised as to his professionalism and cooperation in resolving the debt with options that worked for both parties.
This place calls me at least 1 time a day harassing on a claim in 2017. It s 2020 this was 3 years ago and I m now being harassed by them. I was told an amount of $4,985 then 2 days later an amount of $5,482.64 then again another amount in a letter $6,742.74. They do not know how to explain why this amount keeps increasing. Just bullying me on how to pay this. My car was insured and they want me to provide that information which they should already have on file, but instead they lie to our Secretary of State advising that insurance was not provided to them and as a result my license will be suspended. This place is completely unprofessional, and I m not responsible for any of this I was insured. I don t appreciate any of these bullying tactics.

I got into a little finder binder that was my fault, i do want to do the right thing and pay the debt back, but this place makes it so hard to pay my hard earned money to them. They are the most rude and disrespectful people ever. The first time i talked to them i made a payment plan to put down $250 down and $125 a mouth for 24 month. Well within that time i lost my job and a whole lot of other stuff. So i called and let them know twice about my situation. That was in April. So in may i called again because I found another job, so i called to get the same arrangement they told me i couldn't and had to put three times as much down which i dont have because i just started back working. But i was told that deal was never made that in lying and they tried to get the money out of my account but it wasn't there. Of course it wasn't there i didn't have a job and plus i called to let them know. I am not happy that i have to pay my money to these people at all from the associates all the way to the supervisors talk to me so rude like im nothing. Told me its not there fault i lost my job and and that they would never make a offer as low as $250 so im lying, my story changes everytime i call them. Which it doesn't i really did lost my job, that i should have borrowed the money from a family member. I have never felt so belittled by a company before in my life. So this really to the point where i really dont want to work with them.
These people are obnoxiously rude and unprofessional.
They sent me letters trying to get me to pay a crazy amount of money for
vehicle incident THAT I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN. They said I was the owner of a vehicle that was involved in the incident and that it happened last year in a location that i haven't even visited in YEARS. I called and sent them all the proof that they have the wrong person, and supposedly they're supposed to fix it. I'm not super confident that they will. They couldn't even tell me where the (GIGANTIC) error came from. Very troubling.
Unprofessional at its finest. The staff is not personable, and will hang up on you. In conclusion, they lack moral empathy and seem to run the call center with no consequences.
These ppl threaten to take my DL for late payment and refuse to send me document or proof of anything. Unless i pay since i have been making payments i have not received mail or anything proving i am paying for what they say.
Beware, this company is a scam and a fraud. They like harassing innocent people. Let's sue them.
