I went in alone not knowing the process of buying a car too well and figured they would see a young female and try to take advantage of my lack of car buying knowledge but this was NOT the case at all!! Jose Alvarado was my sales representative and thank God he was! He was personable, knowledgeable, patient and not pushy! He knew what I was comfortable paying each month and didnt try to paint a pretty picture with the numbers just to sell me a car. He took his time and went back and forth with his manager, banks, etc. To make sure I had options and was happy! Needless to say I left the same day with a new car I love with no regrets, just complete satisfaction! Thanks again Jose!! :)

Two years ago we wanted to buy a car. We visited this Toyota dealership but eventually bought a Camry at the dealership in Jersey City where we had a much better sales experience. What happened? We showed up here during the weekend. We were told that we needed to make an appointment to test drive a car. Okay, that's fine, we didn't make an appointment, we get it. But... no salesperson helped us as we were looking for a car to buy. Meanwhile, there were about five or six people some we believe to be salespeople who were at the corner of the store talking. Why would we bother to buy a car, effectively a commodity priced at $30K, given this scenario? Yes, the place was a bit busy, maybe we should have showed up when the place was less busy, but we came here on an impulse rather than a plan.
My advice to potential customers, make an appointment.
Excellent service and sales. I couldn t believe their service department opened on Sundays. Very courteous and professional. Big reason why I chose Toyota as my vehicle. Thank you!
Wilson was an exceptional representactive of Toyota. He was extremely instrumental in faciliting a purchase of a vehicle I had intended to buy. He was very courteous, friendly and very professional in the whole transaction. Highly recommended.
One word - Armando! He's the best! My husband and I bought 2 cars from this place years ago and he still remembers us anytime we call or stop by and are in need of something. He comes highly recommended and I trust anyone else's experience with him will be just as wonderful!!
Wanted to see a vehicle that they were advertising on-line. Seeing how I was Traveling a big distance, I called that afternoon to make sure that the vehicle was at the dealership. After asking numerous times to make sure that the vehicle was there so I don t have to travel a great distance for nothing, I was repeatedly told that the vehicle was at the dealership. I showed up later that day just to be told that one of their employees took the vehicle home with him that morning (mind you that I called in the afternoon) because of the pending storm that was coming. The Salesperson Nixon, and the manager Sam were the two individual people that I spoke with. It for this reason and other reasons,(to much to go into and quite frankly wasted enough time on this place) I would say that this place is totally unprofessional and not reliable. You know that old saying Snake oil salesman well that give it a whole new meaning. Beware of the TLP 3YR/2500 Benefit insurance they tack on to your bill for $389.00. Should have read some of the other reviews. Buyer beware.
My boyfriend and I went so he could test drive a car. While on the test drive with a salesman named Jim, he snapped at my boyfriend whenever he asked a question. We were told no one would be coming with us and when we asked why he was coming he said that he "isn't afraid of covid like the other employees." Once we got back and talked about numbers, he continued to snap at us, and tossed the papers at us multiple times as well. We ended up walking out and my boyfriend gets a call from Jim saying he doesn't know why we left and then he proceeds to offer a DOLLAR less for monthly payments.
I called the number that I found from reading other reviews, which got me to the front desk, where I was then sent to the manager, Mario Puentes' voicemail. I have yet to hear from him and I called 4 days ago.
Our overall experience with Toyota of Hackensack has been great! The customer service and all the staff have always been friendly, painless and inviting. The quality of work that Antonio put into finding our perfect matching vehicle was beyond what I would have ever expected. He was not pushy in trying to get me into something I did not want. He worked tirelessly trying to hunt down exactly what we were looking for and in the end; he made us a deal that we could not refuse. The price was excellent; the service was hard working and always friendly. Overall, this has been one of the best experiences I have ever had while purchasing a vehicle. I would recommend Toyota of Hackensack!
I went for an oil change for my 2010 Toyota corolla and was given excellent service. Everyone was friendly and very informative. I will definitely come back again for my next oil change!
Purchased a vehicle from this dealership about a month ago. I was dealing with Jay Rim, he is definitely not a person I would recommend ever working with. He was terrible with phone calls, emails and updating us on any information. We came all the way from NY to NJ to pick u our vehicle and it was paid for a week prior from us getting it. Arrived on site and our vehicle that was already purchased everything signed was not ready to go. No detail or anything. They couldn't even find the keys for it when we arrived. Sat in the waiting area for over 2 hours and didn't even get to deal with Jay. Jay had pawned his dirty work onto some poor lady who was extremely nice to us. She unfortunately had no idea what was going on. We are still waiting for our check that Jay assured was mailed out 2 weeks ago and here we are... still no check. Overall I would stay away from dealing with Jay. Dealership is nice and prices are great.
Horrible experience! I had scheduled a test drive for a particular vehicle, and when I arrived for my appointment they told me they had loaned it out. They didn t call to let me know or reschedule. I don t remember the name of the person I was speaking to, as he was super impersonal, Xavier maybe, and after telling me the vehicle was gone didn t offer a test drive on anything else. I had to ask if there were any comparable cars I could drive. Had my test drive, and when I came back he clearly didn t want to help me. I asked about financing and leasing, and about purchasing a new or a 2019 and got basic two second answers. If he wasn t a sales person he never directed me to one.
I left very upset, went to a different dealership, and bought a brand new car that evening.
I've been going to Toyota of Hackensack for the past 4 years. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Thank you so much for everything!!
We had a great experience working with Miriam at Toyota of Hackensack. Very straightforward, honest and professional. Miriam was great to work with. Highly recommend!!
If I could rate this a zero I would. This has been the worst experience after the car was purchased. Everything went well while the car was purchased the staff was very friendly, but after was a complete nightmare. I have tried to be patient due to covid but 3 months later and I still have not received my plates or was given a schedule to get the remote start done. I ve been calling non stop and it gets me no where. First we were told the plates were lost in the mail then told it was delivered. Have not received one phone call to check on the purchase nothing. If I could just return the car and never come here again I would. Every time I call I was told we will call you back and never received a call back. I m completely disappointed and will be going to corporate.
I just paid nearly $1,700 to replace the front catalytic converter in my 2008 Sienna (60,000+ Miles). Despite a couple glitches, the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, upon my return to NYC, my Toyota Sienna failed NYS Inspection due to the emissions reading. Needless to say, I am beyond confused as to how that could be after such a repair. Do authorized dealers not check for all sensor readings pertaining to the vehicle s emission system when that is the prime reason the Check Engine alert turned on? If an authorized dealer is not able to determine the effectiveness of their repairs, who can can? Today s expense and failed inspection disappointment is a huge concern. Hopefully, the dealership experts can help me get to the bottom of this issue with my 2008 Sienna. The 2 Star rating is for the nearly 2-ton paperweight that cannot be legally driven in NYS. I m sure my stars will rise when my vehicle is back in proper working order.
very bad service department, don't use them, pays to drive to another location to get service, thy are not trust wordy will only make your situation worse then it was before.
Take my car to fix an airbag problem and now my car does not turn on after I look for it, and they tell me that I will have to pay the crane to look for it when I deliver my car without failure and they caused me a problem I did not have I'm sure they say the car has another electrical problem so I have to pay
I brought a 2017 RAV4 SE with Angel Alvarez, he is a excellent sales which help me through the whole process. He really did an excellent job, if I have friend that need to buy a car I will definitely recommend him.
I had a wonderful experience here. The salesman, Micheal was very pleasant. He was funny and I really enjoyed having him as my salesman. Mike, the gentleman who explains what's what in the car was very thorough. Thank you Micheal and Mike!
Best service in nj! Rich Jennings is one of best people who explain, tell u wat u need or do! Need more people like him! Bought last 4 cars from them, will go no where else!
We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Toyota of Hackensack for stepping up big when our car broke down while passing through New Jersey. On August 9, my wife was driving our Highlander from Maryland to Massachusetts for vacation. Unfortunately, the car died on the NJ Turnpike. After speaking with Stephanie Apgar in service, we had it towed to Toyota of Hackensack. Stephanie was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. After determining cause of the problem, their service department immediately went to work assessing the problem, ordering a part, contacting Toyota to get them to pay for it as part of an extended warranty, and fixing the problem so we could pick up the car on our way back to New Jersey. I spoke to Stephanie numerous times over those several days. She was very reassuring and I knew that we were in phenomenal hands.
When my wife got to the dealership, she realized that she had lost the custom bolt for our bike rack. No problem. Olga Granda was amazing, getting a couple of mechanics to spring into action, rigging something together to connect the bike rack, and even loading the bikes on for her. All the while, they let my wife bring our dog out of the heat so she could stay cool in the AC, even playing with her while my wife was dealing with everything. What was really unique and special was that they did all this for a one-time customer from out of state.
I want to commend GM Fred Radulic, Service Manager Nick Latino and the entire staff for making what was an extremely stressful experience so much easier thanks to their tremendous customer service.
My husband and I are extremely experienced car buyers. We have excellent credit and walked into Toyota of Hackensack knowing what we wanted. Our sales person, Alex, was wonderful. But that's where the good experience ends. When we were ready to talk financing. We were given a number for the APR and were satisfied.
We then proceeded to wait over three hours to meet with the person in Finance. Turns out he didn't even come in until 2:30PM, we were ready to finish financing at 12:30PM. Besides the wait, our APR changed, which Steve failed to mention. He also didn't print all of our paperwork. I was so blind with hunger, I couldn't stand to deal with his stories about helping his daughter move, politics, and how tired he was. He could tell me all his personal life but not the bait and switch of our APR change. The deal nearly folded when he found out I had four kids and told me I should by my husband a television.
I drove home to find that there was definitely something off with the vehicles alignment or tires. It only appeared when going over 50 and there was no way to find that on the test drive. Turns out the shop had massively overinflated one of the tires. I'm glad I didn't have a blow out on the Turnpike.
Additionally, we bought from out of state. The person we needed to talk to at the dealership regarding when our plate arrived, apparently never works. After emails and phone calls, our sales person Alex finally found our plate on someone's desk and mailed it to us. We received it, all bent up, the date before our temporary plate was due to expire.
Toyota of Hackensack offered to pay us the difference from the APR issue (which took several emails and phone calls to even negotiate that). And right now, it's been three weeks and we are still waiting on a check. We can't get ahold of anyone after multiple emails and phone calls.
Buyer beware - if your sale will be easy and straight forward, then you may not have a problem. If you have a question or a need assistance beyond a sales person, you will likely need to live around the corner to harass them. I will never buy from them again.
I LOVE my new rav! I had a great experience at Toyota of Hackensack. I was looking for a fairly new certified vehicle. I was greeted by Miriam and she informed me the vehicle was still waiting to be transported from the auction it was purchased at but that we could do pricing and wait for it to arrive. She gave me a fair value for my trade and after test driving a vehicle and sitting with her, I knew, sight unseen, that this is the car I wanted! She was so informative and worked with my budget. Unfortunately, the car took over 2 weeks to arrive, but Miriam kept in touch with me the entire time. The car came but had some damage.. Miriam s team repaired the vehicle way beyond what I expected and I completed a deal that evening! Miriam made my car buying experience easy. Thanks again!!!!
For excellent RUDE service come to Hackensack Toyota. If a NO star were an option that s what this establishment would get.
Sales rep Robert was very arrogant and rude despite his father raving about his son s great level of service. Robert should NOT be client facing. Hope this feedback helps Toyota Hackensack in recruiting friendlier service.
Miriam was extremely helpful and courteous. She went aboveboard to get me a monthly price I could afford when the first quote was too high. I am retired now and needed a lower monthly price or I would have had to buy a cheaper brand name. I have been a Toyota woman for over 20 years and I love them and also the excellent service I receive at the Hackensack Toyota Service Department. I always deal with Cedric Hobson in the service department and always find him to be knowledgeable about my car, extremely caring and courteous every time I visit
Terrible car buying experience! Would not recommend buying your car here. Seriously DO NOT purchase a new car from this dealership! Going on three months and I have yet to receive the plates for new car we purchased here and the dealership and its managers lack communication skills. Jay Rim indicates he is open to discuss and then dodges every single call. This has been the absolute worst car buying experience ever and has caused an unnecessary amount of stress!
The place, the attention and Susana are amazing in two years that I have taking my car to maintenance have behaved wonderfully. The only incombeniente of today was the person from the desk called Cristina a person with very little professionalism and lack of respect to us clients.
Went for an oil change and a software recall. Things went smoothly at first, and they came to me earlier than expected. However, the manager told me I needed air filters and to clean the corrosion off of my battery terminals. I said I'd think about it.
He came back a few minutes later and told me he gave me the wrong information, and that I actually had a bent rim and a nail in my tire. I said "now that I'll have fixed."
He went off for about half an hour and told me I was done. I went to pay and aw they'd listed the tire plug and rim as "customer declined." The woman at the counter told me I had to wait for the manager to come back, which I did. He said I'd told him not to do the work, and I explained that was the air filters. He argued that it was everything, but then apologized and said they could do the work now. I asked what had been going on the last half an hour if they hadn't been working on the tire and didn't get an answer, so I just said I'd get the tire patched elsewhere.
To top things off, after I paid, the cashier told me my keys were in my car. It was there, but there were no keys, so I found the manager, who brought me over to the server station and gave me my keys - which had been left our for someone to give to me..
I can't say anything bad about the quality of the work, and the friendliness of most of the staff is fine (could be better at the service e reception desk), but things seem highly disorganized. I'm also concerned that if I authorized the work I was initially told I was needed, they wouldn't have told me it was an error and would have still pressed to additional work.
Service dept is great but a bit pricey. Showroom sales are terrible. They send you ketters telling you how much they want to buy your current car back so they can put you in a new one. Then tell you they dont need your car so much so they will give you next to nothing for it. Frustrating. They know what I own. Dont send false advertising!!!
I have been going to the Hackensack Toyota dealership for years now and they provide excellent service! The cars are very good, incredible reliability, and decent prices. I was helped by Miriam on my latest purchase and she was really great! I wanted a CHR and she knew all the specs and found the exact model I wanted with the specs and features I needed! Thank you Miriam and thank you Toyota of Hackensack!
The oil changes are great here too. Nice waiting area inside. Free hot chocolate and free car wash. Power outlets to charge laptops and phones. Comfy seats. TV and a free arcade game with multiple classic 80s games.
Excellent honest salesman Bill! Sold us a 2018 4Runner. We were so pleased with Bill we went back and purchase a 2nd car, a Rav4. After the purchase we decided it wasn't what we really wanted. Once again, Bill took care of it. 3rd car purchase from Bill and we could not be happier. I will say this is the only dealership I've dealt with that was more concerned that we were happy than they were with a sale. Bill You're the GREATEST!!!!
They have the parts I need. Staff in parts super friendly and patience for the customer in front of me that was just price shopping and didn't buy a thing. They really wasted his time and mine. Could have done all that on internet.
Your service manager quite extraordinary. Never owned toyota and he professionally informed answering all my questions. Have always owned American cars, but now on fence whether we shouldn t look at Toyota as second car since we do drive lots in the city
Truly awesome dealership. Jay Rim was best salesman used since getting new vehicles going back to 1994 when got first new vehicle.Today got to use parts & service dept for an accessory to be put on my 2016 4runner. Both depts shined in every way. Attention to detail & little things like cold bottled water, keeping us updated on time frame , taking care of vehicle by placing paper on floor & wrapping seat in plastic . JOB WELL DONE !!!
Love this dealership and have had nothing but good experiences here! The employees are very knowledgeable and willing to try to work as closely as they can with your needs to get you the deal you feel comfortable with. So grateful for them!
I have been going to this Dealership since 2003 and have purchased 2 Toyota Corolla LE models in 2003 and 2011.
I went for Toyoa Airbag Recall on November 20, 2019. Rudy Espana, Assistant Service Manager! was excellent. I spent over 2 hours in waiting room, that was fine. Rudy is exceptional.
I passed some time chatting with Jay Rim, Sales Associate. That went fine too. Jay is exceptional.
I had to deduct 1 star because upon arrival, a man called Darren, from Auto Drive Auto Glass Repair of Rockaway, immediately tells you that you have several chips in your windshield, could fail inspection, etc, etc, etc. so I opt for his service paying $63.98. I wanted to pay cash, but THEY won't let him. THEY turns out to be Toyota of Hackensack. He does not work for them, is an outside vendor, but explains none of this. I had to pull teeth to get this info out of him. He was respectful, but this is deception to me to not explain you don't work for Toyota. He wanted to send receipt to my email, I said no, only IPAD mini, no printer, & non- smart phone. I have no computer. So Darren sends to his email, prints receipt, & gave to me in waiting room. The supposed Lifetime Warranty is not really true, includes only a credit of the cost of repair. I'm not being obstinate, again I was led to believe it would cover a new windshield. Would never use him again.
While it is Toyota's choice to have him there, he should IMMEDIATELY advise customers he is an outside vendor from over 30 miles away. He does not do this, so I coached him. Again, he was nice, but is not up front and made me feel like I would fail inspection if I don't do this. Rudy Espana in service said "Toyota has his back". Fine, but he misleads the customers. This event left a really sour taste in my mouth.
I was planning on buying my next car there, but am on the fence now. It is quite a trip there for me & not at all convenient. Service is excellent, but they always find something you need for double or triple your mechanics price. That was on all visits.
I had an emergency auto problem a few years back and called. They said come right in, service is here late. So I did. No one was there in service, but several men in the office part of showroom. They just stared at me, but one HUMAN got up & went to my car to try and help me.
Sorry for long narrative, but needed to vent.
And to Nick Latino, I don't need to discuss this further with you, so please don't send your standard answer. Thank you.
It is simply a great experience having my car serviced at Toyota of Hackensack. The service is friendly, timely, professional and of course very efficient. Cedric Hopson is a great manager; His word is reliable.
Our saleswoman was courteous and very friendly; the young man who explained all the features of the car was likewise. All in all a very good experience.
Angel at Toyota of Hackensack worked with us to get us a lease on a 2019 Toyota Highlander. He was very thorough in explaining things, from the deal itself to the ins and outs of the vehicle. He gave us his full attention and was helpful during the test driving process. My wife and I would recommend that if you are in the market for a reliable AWD SUV, please see Angel Alvarez ASAP at Toyota of Hackensack. You will not be disappointed!
An issue came up regarding a previous lease months after I got into a new lease for my current car. I spoke with the Manager, Mario, once at the dealership who promised to call me back in a week with a resolution. That was almost two months ago. I've called back several times, left voicemails, sent emails and even ccd other managers at the location. Not one call back or response. My family has purchased or leased 4 cars from this dealership. They will no longer see our business.
Olga and her team are amazing! They put my safety first, without pressuring me to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. And they were mindful that I needed my car the same day. She was communicating with me all day while my car was there. Best customer service! I ve been going to Toyota of Hackensack for the past 8 years and always had a good experience, but this was the best one.
i saw a 2009 535 in Toyota of Hackensack then went there to pay it the guy take all my information even the social security card then he can't finish the processing he said the bank is close when I asked about my paperwork he said I can't give it to you what makes me call the cops for the dealer then thay give it to me on Monday I sent him message to continue the deal he ask for income check and address other stuff anyway after 4hours he said the bank is declined your loan for the bm but I can do something if you will get Toyota so the bank didn't accept the bmw but accept the toyota I just wanna him know bank will not do that bank just accept or no only mony if you wanna sale your toyota just don't lie to customers
This place is awful. After 2+ hours we finally sit down to go over the numbers. For a 2014 lease of a camry they wanted 5500 down with a payment of 250/month. Or if you prefer to part with a 7500 down payment your monthly was around 200. We thought this was a joke but they were dead serious. We just laughed and walked out because I cannot imagine who on earth is putting this type of money down. Our credit is 765 and income is 6 figures. No clue what is going on here but I am lobbing a call to the BBB as well.
It was a great experience purchasing car at Toyota of Hackensack. Salesman Bill James was great to deal with and extremely courteous with no B.S. I am delighted with my new Sienna and sure will recommend Toyota of Hackensack & Bill James to others
The service I received was awful. They fixed the wrong parts when I went in there the first time and they overcharged. The warning light came on again when I came back home. I had to go back to Toyota to have them fix their mistake and resolve the initial issues. They kept my car for several days. The cost must be covered by the warranty but they didn't give me a refund and all receptionists were really rude.
Everyone was very helpful, courteous, friendly and above all knowledgeable. We have been customers of toyota of hackensack for years and are always happy with the service.
Regarding the service department let me just say that there is something terribly wrong with the system in place. When you pull in you are asked if you have an appointment, what it is in regards to, etc. Next, you bring your paperwork inside and are asked the exact same questions again, regardless if you have an appointment. I mean, I have an appointment for a specific service, you have access to the computer system, you are physically looking at the computer, why must I explain the reason for my visit? What is on the screen that you are entering information??? Didn't I make the appointment with this location? Didn't I just explain this to the person who just took my car? Ok fine. Twice, three times really but who's counting. Now you are asked to bring your paperwork to a rep where you are asked- you guessed it, the reason for your visit. I mean, it's exhausting to write this all out, imagine living it... The reason I'm posting this is because I have endured this nonsense for a while but today, while waiting for the rep, the young woman at the reception desk was on her cell phone having a personal conversation in which she felt it acceptable to use expletives. I can only shake my head at the depths to which customer service has sunk. If you are looking for a good customer service experience, this is not the location.
Went in one afternoon and drove out a couple of hours later. Great service and attentive staff. My sales rep was Johnathan and he was great. Helped me with my 2012 Highlander.
I came in to Toyota to buy a car and it was the best experience ever. The sales person Armando helped me to the maximum. He was very professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend him for anyone that needs a great experience buying a car. Hackensack Toyota is a great establishment and my experience was impeccable. Thank you Armando for a great experience.
I f I could give negative stars - I would. The man in the sales department has absolutely ZERO customer service . I get very bad experience from there.
The car buying process can be arduous at best, but Armando and the rest of the staff I dealt with at Toyota of Hackensack made it a breeze. Armando is fantastic. He didn't try to push me on a car I wasn't interested, because he genuinely cared about finding me the car that I wanted and would make me happy. Armando found me the EXACT car I wanted -- year, make, model, and features -- and kept me informed every step of the way as I waited for my car to be delivered to the dealership. The price was beyond right, and I walked away with the precise brand new car I wanted in my price range. I couldn't recommend this dealership enough!
