I just paid nearly $1,700 to replace the front catalytic converter in my 2008 Sienna (60,000+ Miles). Despite a couple glitches, the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, upon my return to NYC, my Toyota Sienna failed NYS Inspection due to the emissions reading. Needless to say, I am beyond confused as to how that could be after such a repair. Do authorized dealers not check for all sensor readings pertaining to the vehicle s emission system when that is the prime reason the Check Engine alert turned on? If an authorized dealer is not able to determine the effectiveness of their repairs, who can can? Today s expense and failed inspection disappointment is a huge concern. Hopefully, the dealership experts can help me get to the bottom of this issue with my 2008 Sienna. The 2 Star rating is for the nearly 2-ton paperweight that cannot be legally driven in NYS. I m sure my stars will rise when my vehicle is back in proper working order.
