I was apprehensive going to buy a car at a dealer. It was used, I did my research and even secured my own financing to help speed the process along. Alex greeted me and was very friendly. He let me test drive the car right away and quickly started my paperwork and trade appraisal. I was not is only client that day and he was juggling 3-4 clients at once. He made sure to check in if I was waiting longer than 10 minutes to update me. They gave me what I wanted for my trade with no issues. They were able to match my loan rate with their in house offering and streamline the process. The insurance rep was very friendly and helpful. Once finance was ready for the process went quickly. Mike explained everything completely and answered any questions I had. This is by far the best dealer buying experience I have had. I would come back here no problem for another car. The car only had one key and they were unable to locate it so they ended up giving me money off the car to cover the replacement cost. There was no fight about it either. Smooth operation and painless process. Thanks to everyone at the ToH team.

I choose to use Toyota of Hackensack only because it being so close to home. Each time of going in for scheduled service, basically an oil change I have waited over 1 1/2 hrs. The last time the technician never even changed the oil filter because he left it in the back seat of my car. Waited for a couple of months to have the weather strip on the driver's side window changed. They kept giving me the run around "It's not coming off the window" I was told. Yeah right, they wanted me to leave it off the window while I was driving!!!! Not safe!!! The tires are totally worn with only 22,000 miles. Mind you, this has been going on for months. The driver side front tire has been leaking and finally totally flat and un drivable. Called Toyota Care for a tow to fix the tire. Brang in the vehicle this morning at 7:20 am with the spare. Waited almost 2 hrs, and first they bring me the wrong car, then insead of giving me a new tire, they patched up the old one. Not cool!!!!! The tire pressure light was still on and nobody had a clue why. I dont think I will ever buy a Toyota again. I can not wait until my lease is over.

God this place is awful. I asked for a camry hybrid to test drive and they bring out a regular gas powered camry. After noticing the acceleration and the trip odometer getting under 10 mpg on local roads I asked why this is so bad? My wife asks where the EV mode buttons and the power indicators were... The guy responds with, the car is wrong it must be broken. Finally he realizes its a gas car and brings out the right one. Strike 1. Next after working a fixed price on the phone and I come in to make a deal, they argue with me that they agreed on a higher price. After playing the voicemail for the boss, they still wouldnt come down to the agreed price! Strike 2. Then they bring out a spec sheet of the car that isn't even the car I am buying! It has all sorts of additional installed options that aren't apart of the car I just reviewed in person minutes before. Strike 3. Went to Ramsey. Was so much better than Hackensack..cheaper deal as well. Never again.

If you call to speak about a new car then you'll get 20 phone calls every day, non-stop, even on weekends. If you need some assistance from a manager then you get radio silence. Do you really want to do business with a dealership who wont even return your calls, unless it's to make money off you?
I'm not some disgruntled guy who writes bad reviews. I was trying to avoid going online and bashing someone because I dont want to hurt anyone's business, but after the lack of response I have received, I have no other choice.
There are better dealerships wiith better prices and better customer service. I'm going to make sure I tell every single person I know to stay away from these guys. What a joke...

Hoping that my review is gonna help you, I would like to share my story experience with Toyota Hakensack. Three years ago I walked in this dealership and I made a pretty good deal. The buying proces was the worse one that I ever experienced!!!
After two years, I was called by them to come to bring back the car. I don't have words to explain here how was the approach. Even that, I wil try to give you an idea: Romani Gypsy style ( no discrimination but this was the approach). Probably for other industries it's working but not for automotive industry.
Anyway, I walked in again, almost at the end of the leasing, with a first question to the front desk lady (Olga): "I would like to meet a smart salesman." And the magic happened! I meet Walter, that besides that he is pretty smart he has a quality: HE KNOWS TO LISTEN !
I don't have any idea how he did everything for us, even I was asking to brake down the numbers, but I know for sure that I closed one of my best deal.
I pretty sure that was a win-win deal for everybody!
All that I would like to add is: the people are making the difference! Good luck to everybody and I hope you'll meet this guy!

We had previously gone to another place where they tried scamming us out of more and more money and this place was the complete opposite. Billy helped us and he was wonderful, he did everything he could to give us the discounts we asked for. He never pressured us into running the credit score and he was very patient. We got a wonderful deal on a Rav 4 se hybrid. Don t forget to ask for Billy !

Excellent dealer, the best I've been to yet! I come from a big family. We own BMWs and Toyotas only. I've purchased several cars from that dealer and so have my siblings. They'll do anything to keep your business! When negotiating call their bluff! If you're not satisfied with the price, haggle down further or ask them to throw something else in, like extended warranty, otherwise walkout! They won't let you go as long as you're being reasonable and fair! Just keep negotiating! They don't want to lose you! The odds of a customer returning after they've left the dealer is less than 20% You should also try and shop at the end of the month. As the end of the month approaches they have to push certain cars out of the lot! You have the leverage and advantage, but you may have to settle for a color that's not your first choice and/or the like!

Previously before ending up going with Toyota of Hackensack, I research every detail about the cars we were considering, all the way to the dealership reviews and sales team people that were mentioned. I had been speaking with 3 other dealers, one of which was horrendous to deal with and set a bad tone for what I thought I was about to embark on. Luckily, after several let downs and bad car salesmen tactics & demeaning conversations with the internet sales manager from another dealer in Queens, NY, I ended up contacting Toyota of Hackensack. I had a great experience with Stacey there who handles internet sales interests. We had emailed back and forth and spoke on the phone about pricing. I had several questions that she put me in touch with Jay the sales team manager. Jay was great! I was very transparent which I know you shouldn't be but he was very straight forward with me, so I was with him. I had a few questions about some of the vehicles listed and we talked numbers. We negotiated what he can do and he was honest about how much room he actually has on a vehicle due to the demand during covid19. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND, CARS ARE NOT AS AVAILABLE AS YOU MIGHT THINK! Jay and I came to an agreement before coming down to test drive the car and he honored that price. They sent me the breakdown of the car, the sale price and the their fees for processing paper work, and obtaining license and plates, registration, etc. He then handed me over to Ana Mayers. She gave me a call to set up a day to come drive the car. She's was awesome! Easy and straight forward. Dealers are busy right now and are working the best they can around appointments and walk ins. So give yourself a little more time and be patient when buying right now. This was actually really nice because it allowed me time to drive the car, park it and look at it thoroughly. I went the through the entire car and played tested the features on it. Then we took it for the drive. I was able tested its pick up and handling, shift the car in manual and back into drive. Ana was great, she allowed us to go on our own to drive it, I sent her a text as I was gone for about 40 mins and she was completely fine with it. I have to say this was probably the selling point for me here. Not feeling rushed to test it and get it back, there's no way to really know if you like a car in 25 mins and especially with a sales associate in the car with you asking distracting questions. This experience was amazing, you really get to listen for wind noise, feel bumps and decide if the car feels good over them and how it really handles turns. We brought it back and Ana was finished with her previous appointment and met us in the lot. We walked in went over the numbers and I resented her with the quote and she approved it with Jay and that was it. It was so easy. She's really good because she is real. I feel like sales associates sometimes try to engage you in a personal way but sometimes its too early. Ana, was just real and honest and when paper work was taking a while she was with another customer but would check on us in-between our wait time. This was a really great experience. I know some of the dealers have bad reviews and I took those into consideration before contacting Hackensack but I would say that this was not the case at all. This will help you know what your buying beforehand. Also, If you like a sales associate that is very well mannered and straight forward and allows you time to actually think, Ana Mayers is the person to ask for. She is attentive but without making you feel pressured. I took this time to write this because buying a car sucks as we know but also I know this will help someone else with the transaction.

Absolute worst dealership ever!! They are scammers and defrauders. Please do NOT buy from here and if you do check the vehicle thoroughly over before you decide to purchase it. We went to purchase a vehicle the mileage different from what was listed on the internet and paperwork by 5,000 miles, the vehicle was recently smoked in and there was damage to a few vehicles that we looked at. We finally decided on a vehicle, we drove it 5,000 miles and took it to another Toyota dealership for an oil change at that time we were made aware that our tires were bad and were way below spec for a certified vehicle. We were advised by that dealership as well as another Toyota dealership and the tire manufacturer that the tires were bad and there was no way we could have done that damage over the period of time and the 5,000 miles we had driven the vehicle. At that time we decided to contact Toyota of Hackensack directly to rectify the problem unfortunately after speaking to several supervisors and department managers they ultimately refused to take care of the problem. At first they said yes they would, then they said no they will not fix the issue. Afterwords I contacted Toyota corporate, at that time the dealership then made up several excuses ultimately saying the issue was due to the tires on my vehicle. They stated the tire manufacturer advised them the tires are known to malfunction and they will replace all 4 tires however they wanted me to be responsible for the cost of putting the new tires on. After I refused to pay their service fee (which was substantially more then the other Toyota dealerships in my area charge) the general manager told me the deal is off and hung up the phone. We were also unable to verify through the tire manufacturer that the tires have a malfunctioning issue (if the tires have a malfunctioning issue I would prefer a completely different tire be put on a vehicle). Everyone at this dealership was very unprofessional, extremely unhelpful and rude. This is a safety hazard and unfair to a consumer purchasing a certified vehicle was supposed to be held up to a certain specification.

Although the cars itself are very good, something strange is afoot. We purchased a certified used vehicle but there was double-talk from the salesperson and he was not clear with his words. He said one thing and did another. We were advised by one manager to see another higher-up manger (I guess), and when we went and told him our situation, and that we were told to see him, he told us to wait, and then forgot about us. In addition, he sent the double-talking, unclear salesperson back to us and refused to come out of his office and speak with us. Our situation was never resolved and we had no other choice but to suck it up because we desperately in need of a car because our car broke down. So please, if and when you go, make sure that whatever salesperson you speak with, that he doesn't quote you one price of a car and then charge another - (it was double-talk along with confusion) and then he denied. They know that people come there that are not experienced and take advantage of that inexperience. And they also do not communicate with each other because the one manager said he was going to speak with the other, and it was never done. I feel this is double-talk-confusion tactic is used to get a sale no matter what. Make sure that you are quoted the price and when you go to the finance office, that it is the same price. I'm graciously giving it a "two star" because of the Toyota brand itself speaks for itself, which is why we purchased the car to begin with, but the salespeople/managers get a "one star" for their lack of professionalism, along with miscommunication and double-talk-confusion. Something is not right. Please tread with care if you buy a car there.

Miriam was extremely helpful in finding the SUV that was right for us. Negotiations at the end were also done professionally, without any underhanded price changes or forceful sales tactics. She was wonderful and we would definitely buy a vehicle from her again.
Note that even if you pay cash (certified bank check), at the very end the Finance mgr. will make you sign & initial about 30 minutes worth of electronic documents. Then you will be asked for your social if the transaction is over 10K since the government requires it. And lastly he will attempt to sell you an extended warranty. Its an unplanned extra that you may or may not really want.
Otherwise a very pleasant transaction.

We found a certified 2015 Sienna Toyota with low, low mileage in just the color we wanted on Carfax. Only downside was that it was at Toyota of Hackensack, which involved taking two bridges and the Cross Bronx Expressway from our home on Long Island. But the travel (and traffic) were well worth it! The purchase went smoothly, thanks to the professionalism and customer concern of our salesperson, Melissa, who, along with sales manager Mario helped us stay within our budget, always called us back promptly during the purchase process, and even came in early on delivery day so we could pick up the vehicle before the dreaded rush hour traffic started. Vehicle is beautiful -- almost new in wonderful condition. The dealership handled getting the NY registration so we coiuld transfer our plates, and Rosa helped us by overnighting the registration when it came in. We took the vehicle to our local dealer for inspection and are now good to go!! Thanks to everyone at Hackensack Toyota. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, customer friendly dealership. .

There I was helped by Mrs. Lorena, I think it was. She helped us out in finding the right car for me, and really took the time with me because I was very unsure and probably annoying. So I was undecided between the Corolla and Camry. The sales lady Lorena really stayed and made me understand the pros and cons of both. I would never write a review but I just appreciated her good help because I can be a hard customer. She deserves me to take out 5 minutes of my time to let her know I like her work. I received a phone call at 11:15am to confirm the appointment as well as a text message at 12:25pm to confirm the appoint. I advised I would be there at 3:30pm. I showed up at 3:40pm and was informed the car was sold earlier in the morning and the sales person wanted to show me a comparable model for $10,000 more. Typical bait and switch nonsense.

What a great dealership! Had to tow my 2012 Sienna because ABS, VSC and CE lights on dash. Got there in the morning and it was ready in the evening. They found a faulty fuse which was replaced. Could've lied to me and charged me hundreds for unnecessary repairs. Plus they detailed the van and left it spotless. Everyone was courteous and professional but OLGA was the BEST! I have visited Hackensack Toyota a few times and I am still surprised that they have been able to maintain such a high rating. Their showroom is above average but the atmosphere feels tense, and the salesmen have never been very attentive. Viewing it from their perspective I can understand why they don't want to deal with a well researched buyer but alas service and attention should be the same for all potential sales. Whether that customer only cares about color or is grilling you on the specs and prices.

If I could give negative stars I definitely would. I leased my first Toyota from this dealership and everything seemed pretty smooth. A couple months before my lease ended, a sales rep contacted me about coming in to lease a new vehicle - Mr. Edwin Alvarado. THE WORST CAR LEASING EXPERIENCE! I was there pretty much 8 hours where he was nice at first but became extremely rude and was basically badgering me to pay $500 up front when in reality he contacted me! The financial department was helpful and ultimately that's why I went with the new lease. BIG MISTAKE! At the end of the day, Mr. Alvarado pretty much rushed me out, told me I should already know about the car since I had a Toyota previously, and instructed me to give him a 5 star review. HELL TO THE NO.. I did exactly the opposite and told Toyota my horrible experience. I then got a call from Mr. Alvarado himself asking me why I "clobbered" his score and why I didn't tell him how he can do his job any better. I responded stating I shouldn't have to instruct you how to do your job and calling me is even that much more unprofessional. So now fast forward to 2017, when I already returned my 2014 Toyota for over a year now, this dealership continues to call me despite my many attempts in stating I want nothing to do with them. They sent me no bills or anything for months until I randomly find a notice stating I have to pay close to $400 after returning the vehicle or it will go to collections. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle, steer in the opposite direction of this place.
