Everyone was helpful and laid back as you should be in a music store! I was impressed with the huge selection of high quality guitars. I was looking to get a matching cymbal for my 15 inch Zildjian A Custom Fast crash cymbal. I didn't quite find the match I was looking for and I am quite picky. However, it was well worth the visit and I will return again if I am in the area.

Love this music store! Everyone is super helpful and welcoming. I'm in the process of purchasing my second guitar, with great guidance from Rik and the process is professional, relaxed and never intimidating. Fortunately for me I live a few hours away because if I lived in Newmarket, my wife would never see me.
I recently bought an acoustic guitar from The Arts. Plenty of quality selection there. Arron and the other guys who work there are great to deal with. Put up with me coming in 2-3 times a week for a couple months to try everything on the wall until i found the perfect instrument for me in my price range. Great experience. Will be back when im ready to upgrade.

I am encouraged to try any guitar in the shop. The sales staff are extremely friendly and helpful without being pushy. I find the pricing is very reasonable. The staff goes out of there way to make sure you are well taken care of. Can't recommend them enough.

What an awesome shop! Wandered in looking for a smaller bodied Martin, a 00 or 000 specifically. Fraser (my sales guy) was amazing, pulled down a selection of everything from a NOS 15 series to a Custom Shop 00 for me to play.
After giving me as much time as I needed, they were able to do a quick adjustment/setup on the 000-18 I decided to take home.
Shout out to Daryl and others who, while I was waiting for the setup to be done, made sure I was aware of the feeding and care requirements of my new Martin.
All around an awesome shop. They are working on a repair for my Taylor GS Mini as well, am sure the work they do will be top notch.

Went to the Arts music store last week. my guitar had a crackling volume knob issue. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and the fact that everyone shares the same genre music as me made me like home. Darryl really hooked me and my guitar sounds and plays great. While he was working on my guitar I was jamming it was a wonderful experience. I would reccomend this store I would highly reccomend talking to darryl for your guitar needs everyone else is helpful too.

Just bought a beautiful Gibson firebird studio t in Pelham blue from them and couldn't be more pleased with the service and quality of the store, staff and products. The guitar was immaculately setup and had fresh strings on it even when it was just hanging up, without request, which is rare for most older models in a guitar shop. The prices at the arts are some of the most competitive around as well, this was one hell of a deal! Been coming to this store for a total of 15 years now and have seen the shop and staff grow over the years and blossom into sheer, proffiesonal awesomeness. Special thanks to Fraser and Jack for helping me procure this new addition to my family of axes! great store I live in port credit and LA music can't hold a candle to the arts from service and great staff the manager is excellent and i don't have the feeling he wants to rip me off like the the one at LAmusic where i live ...Yes i'll drive a hour out of my way to a REAL music store.....
Twice, walked in to purchase full Pearl drum set for my son and look into lessons . Twice, was completely ignored, twice 3 guys standing at counter, twice walked out!

I just received my new Amp from the Arts Music Store! It was totally different than what I m use to! Did a visit to the store, talked to the salesman Fraser how to make the amp work! Fraser took a huge amount of time setting up the Amp, and a guitar and walked me through how to set it up! A huge thank you to Fraser and the Arts not just for this but my go to place for all things musically!

I purchased my first electric guitar and an amp here. They spent a good 2-3 hours with me going through all of the options and answering my questions. I believe they have nearly 1000 guitars...so it was almost overwhelming to make a choice - but this is a good thing. Not having enough selection is a big part of what got me back here. Everyone is very reasonable, very low pressure...these are the same type of people you'll find yourself jamming with. They just love music and want to help. A+++

I just wanted to thank the staff and owners for helping him get his dream guitar, a gretch with imperial stain. He is so happy with it. Everyone that we have ever dealt with has been super helpful, we will be customers for life.
Been shopping here since i was an annoying little 10 year old who could barely pluck a string. its been 14 years of watching the store grow and change into what it is now, i may have bias being a local, but man this is by far one of my favorite guitar stores and music shops in general, great selection, the best staff (shoutout to darryl) and also one of the best repair shops i've ever had the pleasure of having my instruments serviced, and modded. The selection in the shop is a little slim for more of the "metal guitars" but the staff is always willing to order you in any available product. I don't even know how many guitars i have bought from this store, the number is probably around 5 or 6, every time i have the best experience and usually get a pretty good deal. you cant go wrong with the arts. its much more than a local music store in a small town. go check it out if you haven't.
Excellent and knowledgeable staff, top quality products ultimately leading to superior sound. The teachers here are extremely versed in their trades and I am personally receiving top notch instruction.

This place is a true bonus to Newmarket. The store rents really great instruments for incredibly reasonable prices so that you don't have to buy if you are just trying out an instrument or are in a "jam" and need one in short order. The lessons are fantastic, well organized and fairly flexible in terms of rescheduling if something comes up. When it comes time to buy, the team upstairs are incredibly knowledgeable, professional and helpful Very, very impressed.
5* Aaron provides the best customer experience 5*. I bought my 14yr old daughter a starter pack and Aaron answered all our "newbie" questions, checked the products with us in case of factory damage and then threw in a couple of small items so she would have everything she needs when we got home. Aaron will be our future go-to for everything we need.
These guys always help me out w the right gear for gigs. The staff are very knowledgeable and will take the time to sell you the instrument that is right for you.

Each and every team member goes above and beyond what you'd expect to find at a music store. Their guitar tech does a fantastic job every time. Ordering online from this store was amazing. It was the quickest, most friendly customer service I ve experienced in ages. As soon as I ordered my guitar pedal, I received a notice very shortly after that the pedal had been shipped, and received a very warm personal email from the owner of the shop asking me to let him know that it got to me safe and sound. I received the pedal within a couple of days of the purchase! I will absolutely be shopping here again.
Manager was very rude lost a sale ill take my business elsewhere !! I was there to purchase a guitar for my sons birthday and you kicked me out even after my son explained i had medical issues and was there on crutches pretty cruel you can say whatever you want ill go elsewhere !!

I purchased ,what for me was a very expensive guitar, and as such took hours of trying and pacing back and forth lol. But, between Frank who initially greeted and helped me to Ryan who cashed me out hours later, I was Always treated with respect and kindness. They listened to all my old man stories of all the guitars I have owned and so on. They never once made me feel rushed, answered all of my questions with dignity and never made me feel awkward for asking the simplest of questions. The retail landscape has never been more difficult in our time, but service such as this must be the answer. They cleaned and polished my new guitar, gave me very fair trade in, and I was very, very pleased. Thanks again fellas !

Seven string bass has never felt so good. It was used and had some visible scuffs but plays just fine! Loved it. Love it muchly. I've wanted a 7 string for years and it made me feel pretty damn excited to see their IG feed listing this for sale. Bought it the next day and nearly sleep next to it. Have been before an will visit again soon. Everyone's the best there. If you don't go to Arts, you're missing out.
I've been a regular customer at The Arts for over 20 years and have always been impressed with how helpful, patient, and insightful the staff has been. Whether it's Archie, Aaron, Dave, Darryl, Ken, Leo, Steve, or Ryan (or some of the others whose names escape me this morning), you get the same consistent and personable service. Great staff, great product selection, and great service if you need your instruments repaired or maintained. I just got my roger waters signature bass guitar back from being set up. I know that the arts do great work . When I played it the difference was amazing. As always the staff are great and even though I am new to the bass guitar and dont have the best gear they make you feel like your guitar is as important to them as it is to you . I will never let anyone else touch my guitar other than they guys from the arts . I just wish I knew who did the work in mine so I could thank him personally next time I'm in the shop . I even got communication after hours. Shipping was prompt and extremely well packaged. Communication continued after the sale was made and the package shipped to make sure things worked out. I placed an order for a product (paid in advance) for an xmas present only to be finally be told (after weeks waiting) that it wouldn't come in until February. Said the supplier forgot to include it in the shipment... then the truth came out when I was told that the manufacturer needs a minimum order in order to ship so my product hadn't shipped yet due to them not having enough product to fulfill the minimum order. If you can't place an order with your vendor , then don't sell the product. Very disappointed.
I just wanna say how excellent the service was with The Arts Music Store. I was trying to find a guitar for my sons birthday that he had his eye on but it was simply unavailable locally. I decided to look out of Province and found The Arts Music Store online. I had emailed a few different stores in Ontario and BC but these guys were very quick to respond ahead of the others. They had the best price and free shipping as well. I dealt with Rik who was amazing! He really went out his way to make sure the guitar was inspected and shipped out the same day I ordered it. We got the guitar only a few days later, which was packed up very nicely in an extra heavy duty box for safer shipping. These people dont even make eye contact with you or ask if you need any assistance. You either chase down a worker or you interrupt one of their very deep conversations held at the sales desk to receive any sort of help. I'd love to support this business more cause its closer to me but the staff here just dont seem to care for this business.
I had a great experience with The Arts Music Store - I was interested in selling some gear to them, and they made the whole process very easy. Carl helped me queue things up via e-mail, and when I made it to the store, Shane did a great job taking care of everything, plus I enjoyed chatting with him about guitars and other gear. I've also purchased online from them and was very pleased with how fast the order was processed and shipped. I'd gladly shop here again and would definitely recommend it.
On Sunday I had a chance to stop by The Arts music store . I had been thinking of buying a fuzz pedal and had one in mind. The salesperson behind the counter I recognized from a online music night during early Covid. Julian was a great help in answering my questions about the different fuzz pedals. The Arts is my favourite music store by far. I've been coming to The Arts since I was about 13, which makes 9 years now. I've purchased nearly every instrument I own from this store, as well as taken lessons, gotten guitar maintenance and upgrades, and sometimes just stopped in to see what's new and try some new guitars out. Through the past 9 years I've been treated with nothing but professional, kind service. If I ask a rather dumb question, the staff is patient and will thoroughly explain the answer until I leave feeling satisfied.The staff is very knowledgeable, and the store has a great selection of modern and vintage guitars, amps, and other instruments. I love this store so much that I've actually ordered items from The Arts and waited 10 business days when I could have picked it up at one of their larger competitors the same day simply because I'd rather wait and spend my money at The Arts. They definitely deserve your business, and I will be coming here for the foreseeable future :)

I just purchased an Ibanez during what seems to be the great Ibanez shortage, but Fraser helped me find one that still worked for me. The customer service here is amazing. He was so friendly throughout the whole process and had my guitar ready for pick up right when i got to the store! Highly recommend this place

I came in with an old Korg keyboard that had chipped out, after learning that this store could send it out for repairs. But first, they plugged it in and tested ... for nearly 30 minutes! Turns out the keyboard was fine and only needed an adjustment to how I plugged it in. The staff's patience, expertise and integrity wowed me! They were also super friendly and accommodating. This is my go-to store in the area - great job, guys!

I am so impressed with the level of customer service I received from The Arts Music Store. I ordered my guitar through their website and was taken aback from the amount of selection and items to purchase, the reasonable prices and their communication with their customer on the shipping.
My local shop doesn't even have a website and does very little in terms of creating a great experience with customers.
Rik is an amazing website ambassador for this business. His commitment to making sure his customers are happy is second to none. I have never received a personal email from anywhere I have ordered online - it was a great experience. They tested my guitar and let me know it was in perfect condition upon shipping, which was also evident from the extra batteries they included for my acoustic/electric. (Thanks for them, by the way!!)
I will, from now on, be making the trek to buy in store all my future musical gear if possible - if not, I feel insanely comfortable navigating and purchasing through their awesome website. Great store and very friendly/helpful staff. I broke a violin string this morning while tuning it and I needed a new one ASAP. When I called to see if they sold violin strings, the person on the other end was very friendly and took the time to check to see what strings they had. Not only did they have single strings in stock, but when I got there to pick it up, one of the guys working there was able to put it on my violin and tune it for me. So helpful! Thank you!

I enjoy going to the Arts. I've been going there when they were on Davis Dr. So, for thirty years it's been my place too go to just too play some of the new guitars and shot the s--t. Although I don't know the new staff personally like I did with some of the other guys. The new staff are friendly and share their time openly with you about anything you want to know about. I got my first real electric guitar there to of course a nice amp. Now I've bought probably 7 guitars and 3 amps. That reminds me I'm going to go over there right when my girlfriend comes home.

Ive been coming to The Arts for years, even before the move to eagle street from their original store on Davis drive . Always, I mean Always friendly staff ( and customers i may add) which encourage you to pick up a guitar and play ( nice chairs too lol ) to sit on . Clearly our experience at this store is on par with the other reviews posted here, but I still wanted to leave a note. Starting with Darrell, who's service was above and beyond in helping us (us being parents with absolutely zero guitar experience) buy our son's first acoustic 8 months ago; to Frank who helped us with the purchase of his first electric 4 months later; to Cody, who took time out of his busy night to teach him re-stringing and maintenance - with excellent tips and tricks... and every staff member in between that was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I believe that their support has helped to foster a true love of guitar that will stay with him forever - thank you!

We were looking for Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster Electric Guitar FMT HH in Amber across all province and everywhere it was out of stock, several stores where we pre-ordered this guitar and where it was in stock after 2 weeks of waiting said to us it was no longer available.
So today I emailed to the Arts Music store and a miracle happened, this guitar was in stock and we picked it up within 2 hours!!!
