Excellent selection of merino and possum fur wools. Biggest skeins of wool there were 200 g for roughly 17-30$. The clothing there was excellent quality. All NZ made. Service was good also with their friendly staff.

So much variety! However nothing in the way of mittens for babies or young toddlers. Gorgeous clothing & accessory products, well made, pricing reflects this. Helpful & friendly staff. Some sheep in a nearby paddock reminds you of the 'paddock to table' production chain!

From driving pass for years always at the wrong time for open hour we finally entered this old building to a great surprise as it's showroom is lovely with amazing range of products. The ladies & gents were a treat and not expected from the outside apparently of the building. The quality of products and prices were good compared to tourist outlets. Go and visit , be surprized at the range available.

We purchased a present for a uncle in the Uk from the Wool company who offered to mail to the Uk. unfortuanely he had to go to the post office in order to pick up his present 10 miles, only to find he had to pay $45 in order that they would release the package.They wanted to charge VAT(gst) , it was very embarassing to learn that he had to pay as much as we had paid in order to pick up his own present. If The Wool Company had advised that this would be the case we would not have sent it via them.Very dissapointing, would not use again

A great place to find if you are looking for authentic woolen and possum fur garments. Excellent range and are well priced, particularly the Brass Monkey thermals and underwear.
Suprisingly, it is also a great place for authentically styled tweet flat caps and other woolen hats.
If you want to knit your own, there is a good range of pure wool and Marino yarns to get you going.
Very helpful staff, and they certainly know many things about the products in store.
So come here for a bargain and some authentic New Zealand woolen wares.

He even bought a scarf to wear when we go south to the West Coast. I normally find wool itchy but the merino underwear is so nice and comfortable. We always stop here at Uticu as we drive south through the North island. Dont blink, you'll miss the turnoff. A large choice of great Marino and Possum wool products and although quite expensive they are worth it. They also have a dependable and reputable catalog mail order department. I love them!

Great shop for natural fiber clothes, lovely friendly staff and a nice place for a little stop and look. Only thing it's missing is a intimate little cafe area...nothing too extravagant, maybe tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a scone or slice would take this place to the next level.

Delivery is prompt. But socks both the merino jeans socks and bed socks are too big even though they were my size. Bed socks not a week and have fluff bubbles. One size but big and loose and they come off in the middle of the night. Disappointing as they are rather pricey.

Service and delivery quick and reliable. I am disappointed that the socks are 70% Marino. I was expecting higher percentage Marino also because of the price?

Last year I bought 3 hanks of double knit wool from your shop to knit myself a jersey. I'm really disappointed that it has pilled so badly and looked old within a week of wearing it. In fact it has put me off knitting right now. All that work and cost for a poor quality garment :-(
