Very bland food. I ordered steamed pot stickers and chicken vegetable stir fry. The pot stickers were rubbery, cold, and tasteless. The stir fry was hot, but I ended up adding some of my own sauce/spices because it was so lacking in flavor. Not sure if I would try this place again.

My girlfriend and I have happy hours there all the time. Why ? because the food is cheap and good. All the servers are nice. Coming to our table ask all the time. How it goes? Just make sure we got what we need. Love it.

We bring our friends to this restaurant all the time. They all like it. Good Job.

Com'on people...you want real Chinese food, ask the staff for a Chinese Menu. BTW- Sesame Chicken, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, etc isn't Chinese food. Please don't rate them base on them. Here are the foods you should be trying out:

- Any Hot Pot Dishes, my fav- Seafood Eggplant Hot Pot
- Any *Pan Fried Noodles HK style* my fav- Beef with Gailan *Chinese Broccoli*
- Salt & Pepper Squid *More American, but still great*
- Beef Chow Fun *Dry HK style* Fat thick rice noodles, a staple in HK.
- Pea Tips with Crab Meat - top 3 dishes there! Its pricey but they use real crab
- FuChou Fried Rice - Seafood and veggies *Its great for people that likes sauce over their rice*
- Live Crab/lobster- suggestions *Ginger and Onion and Salt and Pepper* is our favorites.

I wish they still did dim sum, looks like they are taking a break from this. Hopefully they restart this again...

I ordered with Red Ginger China Bistro for the first time via Door Dash. Ended up getting wontons, donuts, house fried rice, orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken.

The orange chicken was probably the worst I've ever had, the sauce was bitter and the chicken was extremely soggy where the breading was falling off the chicken. I've had take out/delivery with other restaurants and received breaded fried chicken dishes in sauce that were not extremely soggy. It may be better when ordered and eaten at the restaurant, but I wasn't very impressed and ended up tossing the dish because it was difficult to eat.

Sweet and sour chicken dish ended up being a chicken nugget dish because the other main part of the dish, sweet and sour sauce was missing. I heard good things about the sauce especially, so it was disappointing to not have received one of the main parts of the dish. The chicken itself was fried well and decent quality meat though.

The other three dishes were good though, cream cheese wontons, donuts and house fried rice. Others may have a better experience if they try it. However, my experience was bad enough that I wouldn't order from them again.

Food is pretty good. Delivery is sketchy at best. WHEN they decide to deliver, it's fast and fresh. However, they consistently make excuses about why they can't deliver. Poor business practices when you can't live up to your advertising.

TL;DR Good food, poorly managed

If you can never get enough Chinese food/authentic Chinese food but don't care for the travel to Minneapolis/Bloomington just to get your fix then this is the place! I miss coming here Sunday mornings for their amazing dim sum!!

It wasn't bad, per se, for the most part it was just kind of bland and soggy. Like getting premade frozen meals and microwaving it. Typically with fresh Chinese you get chicken that is crispy and then tossed in the sauce.... this was not. The lomein wasn't bad, different noodles but it was ok. The cheese wantons aren't cooked all the way so they are super doughy. I will say though, the hot and sour soup was very good.

Have been going to Red Ginger forever ,they now have a new cook and the portions have changed along with ingredients! I will not go back told them about this when I was there and that I had a bad meal ,they were surprisingly very rude instead of replacing it they said don't come back and I won't!

Amazing quality food for a very good price. Close local Chinese restaurant with authentic Chinese dishes. They also serve alcohol as well as seafood cuisines for a good price. Food comes out quick and hot as always.

I have been eating at red ginger on and off for the past five years. Discovered this place when I lived with my mom in Circle Pines. The red ginger pad thai, red ginger fried rice and their egg rolls still get me to come around once in a while. The pad thai is undoubtedly the best I've had till date and I've had pad thai at a lot of places both fancy and otherwise. Very comforting food with huge portions. Love it!

Amazing fried rice and egg foo young. Recently tried to expand my horizons by ordering the crispy tofu seafood special and salt and pepper soft shell crab. Ended up with the worst food poisoning you could ever imagine for a week straight. I'm not sure how fresh or safe the seafood is. I'd normally give five stars but after my negative experience, I'm unsure if they practice quality control.

Decent local place to have Asian fare. They have a buffet but I have never had it, bad timing. It is clean. They have a full bar and very polite service. They only serve family style (large portions) while dining in and not many choices for take sizes but the food is good. They have specials online however a credit card issue has made it impossible to order that way.

Spent 46 bucks for two dishes, 2 kinds of fried rice, and dumplings. After the sticker shock I expected great flavor and healthy serving size. However I am so disappointed and wishing I had spent half of the money to drive further elsewhere.

The beef lo mein:
$10.50 for noodles basically. Dry bland lacking in flavor. I found 6 pieces of meat and vegetables that didn't even have taste. Onions still firm but yet nothing to give you belief you ate one. What a joke.

Orange chicken:
$10.50 Should be an easy one to knock out for any oriental restaurant. However the lack of seasoning accompanied with out of the box tasting sauce left us with no choice but to drown it in our own sauces to make it more appeasing. Even the kids wouldn't eat more than one if they even ate one to start with. Chewy nasty chicken that we couldn't convince the kids to try again. I too found this dish difficult to keep eating.

Fried dumplings:
(6.50?!) I always judge a place by these. The dumpling sauce is nothing more than a watery sweet and sour not a dumpling sauce at all. Not even close. The dumpling itself was basically a unrecognizeable blob of what I hope and assume is meat. Poor flavor and I can say frozen ones from the grocery store beats these hands down. Sloppily laid on lettuce the outside was cooked hard where the filling had been pinched. Eaten without the sweet sauce is honestly comparable to chicken nuggets without breading.

Pork fried rice:
(9.25 for a large?!) More dry than what's desirable however good sized chunks of meat but like the rest of the food. Boring on your taste buds. However likely the best part of the 46 dollar meal. Expect the fortune cookies.

Shrimp fried rice:
(6.05 for a small) Good sized shrimp and comparable in the lack of seasoning to the pork rice. Nothing to wow you however not much more to gripe about aside from what's been mentioned already. Bland. Unexciting. Dumbed down.

All in all we found the food barely bareable if you have a plethora of sauces to add at your home. However the prices for what you get are absurd I have eaten all over the country and even gas station egg rolls have more flavor than the entire meal put together. The Asian salad at McDonald's blows this place out of the water. Nothing seems to be made by hand or from scratch even; the incredible lack of seasoning and care for tradition combined with poor appearance sums up to a suspicion that the chef does not understand what he's making or the recipes have been heavily altered from what's expected from staple dishes.

TL;DR: save your money if you're expecting Chinese food and flavors, this place is not that it has been watered down to bland dry American with a Chinese cuisine look and disappointing taste and feel.

Red Ginger is definitely one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the North Metro area. As a family we use to travel over half hour into Minneapolis just to get small portions, poor quality food, and bad parking. Conveniently located in Shoreview we have frequented this restaurant for almost 4 years and they have always delivered.

From fresh seafood, ice cold beers on tap, to wonderful authentic Chinese dishes we certainly applaud Red Ginger and their team to have done so well. Portions have been great, excellent customer service, and amazing food.

We certainly enjoy the fact that when we walk in we know it's an enjoyable experience. Happy and well managed staff and to us a clean and authentic atmosphere. Can't describe how many birthday parties we have celebrated over the years. We've been to at least 2 events over the years as well. Just packed! We truly hope they start dim sum again! I'd recommend anyone for nice casual dining experience or quick take out.

Reopened with great food! This resturant was closed Feb - March 2009 but has since reopened. Walnut Shrimp and House Pad Thai are among our favorites. We often stop on the way home and have a glass of wine at the bar while we wait for take out. If you do not want to leave home, Yes they do deliver! :)
The food is not overly spicy, which we like. It has a little kick, but does not leave you each bite with more water. If you like a little more spice, ask and they will kick it up for you! :)

Chinese restaurants seem to be hit or miss. But this one, there hasn't been anything on the menu I've tried and didn't like. Service is always fast and place is always clean. Delivery comes pretty quick too.

My boyfriend and I came here last September while visiting Minnesota. I have never been a fan of Asian food until I ate at this place! The egg rolls and Kung pao chicken were so delicious. We came back for more just a couple days later. The staff was very friendly and the owner was very nice as well. Nothing else compares to the food here. Definitely will be coming back for more as soon as we are back up there.

Great taste AND service. It's a modest size for a buffet but the consistency and quality of the food is well worth it. Quality over quantity any day.

They still fry their rice, versus most buffets that are now serving the yellow, instant rice that looks and tastes like t.v. dinner quality.

The food is terrific! I had one bad experience where I received extra food that I didn't order and was charged for it. The bar tender went to tell a gal who looked like the manager and I could see/hear her bad talking me in the mirror reflection behind the bar. People don't forget...

I paid almost 13 dollars for soggy under cooked Gen Tso chicken. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Saw decent reviews so decided to order for the first time. Got delivery from grubhub which was fine. Normally even cheap Chinese food has good flavor, but I was really disappointed with the flavors and textures of almost every dish. The appetizers weren't crisp and the texture of the spring rolls was really mushy inside. The fried rice dishes were mushy as well. Unfortunately won't be ordering from here again. Maybe it is a lot better if you eat in at their location.

When they first opened the food was unbelievably great, service was perfect then change after change it dropped to good... we will see tonight if 5 stars or 1. Food is very good, to go orders should be checked before you leave- not even close to what I ordered. Chris got it right on return trip. Thank you for a very good dinner. Don't get me wrong even the wrong food is really good, rice is always perfect.

Red Ginger does not disappoint. I drive over there from White Bear to pick up chow mein. It is just
like the chow mein we had growing up. Nothing fancy perfect. They don t skimp on the meat, noodles or soy sauce packets either. Online ordering is easy and secure. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
