I ve had many experiences at Tennova and none of them have been amazing. However, I was there just Sunday-Monday in the ER and my experience was not good, at all. I had come into the ER around 8 pm because I was having stroke like symptoms. Throughout my entire visit, my doctors and nurses were not communicating with me on what they thought was wrong with me, or any of the plan of action. This was worrisome because they kept giving me things that you usually get when you re having a stroke, but they were not telling me anything. I m only 18, so if I was having a stroke, that s not normal, and either way doctors should communicate with the patient about their condition. I was given aspirin to chew, and a heparin shot, and when I asked why I got either of these things, my nurses were vague and wouldn t tell me. This is incredibly concerning. They kept me overnight, and told me I would be getting a room, in which I never did. I just moved to a different part of the ER, and registration also never came to admit me into the hospital. After extensive testing, the doctors still weren t sure what was happening and ended up discharging me after being their for 19 hours. Not once was I told during my stay that they thought I was having a stroke, I read it on my discharge papers. There was another time that I had come to the ER after being in a car accident, and they were worried about my heart rate. They told me they needed to monitor my heart rate, and then put me back in the waiting room for 2 hours. They took x-rays, and then they came back and said I was ready to go home. I had to ask about my x-ray results, in which they told me I had strain on my spine and neck, and then they sent me home. Not once did they monitor my heart rate, after continually saying they needed to have me connected to a heart monitor the entire time. Overall, my experience was not pleasant, and I hope I don t have to return to Tennova again.
