Arrived at ER. Wife was showing signs of a stroke. I was told to sit down and she would be called. Triage nurse came out and attended to THREE people that were in no immediate danger and showing no signs of stress. In the meantime my wife is in tears and sliding into the floor. I asked nicely the first time why she had not been called and had to raise my voice and act a fool before a triage nurse came to take her to be attended to. While the time we waited was not significant, EVERY second counts when presenting with her symptoms, especially with a history of anuerysm. Once I had to yell at people to get attention, they were attentive and did everything they could to help. TRIAGE IS A MAJOR ISSUE IN THIS HOSPITAL. The ladies sitting out front need serious TRIAGE training, as well as guest service skills. On this particular day there was ZERO empathy, attention to patients needs and a gemetal lackadaisical attitude when checking in. TRIAGE nurses need to be the first person you see when talking to someone about your illness (not a glorified secretary). Dr Singer and the ER STAFF are outstanding. It's just the triage 0rocedures that are horrendous
