This is the 3rd time this year my mother has had to come to this hospital. Each time, it takes an hour to get a nurse to assist with a bed pan n the ER. I know they are over crowded, but seriously....poor patient services.

My husband had a procedure done by Dr. Ennis. From the time we arrived we were treated with respect and all staff and volunteers were professional and so very kind. The Drs explained thoroughly what procedures to expect.

Tennova has always been the go to hospital for us. We have NEVER had a bad experience!

Dr. Ennis called the evening before the procedure and followed up with a personal note following the procedure. Quite impressive!!!

This hospital has a serious problem. I'm not sure if it's a combination of the staff or the hospital procedures. Someone mentioned since Obama care the average wait is 10 hours ...this is absolutely ridiculous. At no point should an ER have a wait time of 10 hours.

I finally walked out after 11 hours AMA because it was a circus. At no point in time did any personnel express concern over our well-being, the only thing they were concerned about was letting us wait. At certain points you would assume the hospital staff might be concerned with the fact that in 11 hours a sick patient might be hungry or even might be in need of a blanket or some other type of comfort. Yet none of this was offered. With no end in sight it was clear we needed to leave.

With wait times like these the hospital should increase the staff it's a simple equation of supply and demand. I'm just absolutely shocked because I can't imagine there was that many life threatening cases that the emergency cases waiting existed. For example before I had got there for my son there were two women both in their second trimesters having complications as if possibly miscarrying, and yet neither had seen a doctor in 7-8 hours.

At no point in time would I recommend anyone to go to the hospital dieing or not... it's clear the staff is overwhelmed the procedures and processes are outdated.

I've never been here but somehow this company caught wind that I've been in an auto accident and are trying to get me to go get examined. Not sure how they got my number in the first place but they've called twice. Not a fan of unsolicited calls!

Absolutely worst hospital. I've been here a couple of times and was not even pulled into a room. Waited several hours, not a single test run and they said sent me off. I had to go back to a different hospital EVERYTIME. Don't waste your time here.

I went with my girlfriend to the e.r. because she couldn't stop throwing up, they did a CT scan. They said that she had appendicitis and a UTI. They continuously hounded her into getting the surgery. Luckily she found the courage to say i'm going to get another doctors opinion, went up the street to blanch field and they did a contrast CT scan. Guess what, no appendicitis, no UTI. This hospital is a joke and will elect surgeries you don't need to drum up business.

The wife and I have had both our kids here, and a few medical emergencies. The staff is mostly friendly and on the ball with everything. It's very clean and well built. I've been to a few of the other hospitals in the area (Dickson, Waverly, Camden, Nashville) and this one has hands down been the best in overall quality in our experience.

There should be an option for zero stars, go somewhere else if you can. Wait times are a lie and they are incredibly understaffed or no one knows what anyone s doing. They seem confused most of the time as well. The rest of the hospital is fine but the E.R. should be avoided.

All the staff in the Emergency Room were amazing! I was visiting from out of town and woke up with chest pain. I got in immediately and was treated with compassion and extremely professional care. The doctor, nurses, techs and even the person who checked me in were wonderful. Thank you all. I would recommend this hospital 100%

Great communication and attentiveness from the doctors, Respiratory Team, and nursing staff. Need more staff hand washing between patients and add a trash bin per patient so not sharing one. Toss used bed pans instead of storing them in the shared bathroom. Small hiccups but overall a nice improvement! Keep up the growth! Quick, efficient and friendly. Thank you

Okay, felt main doctor was a little young and needed more experience. Once released, I told them husband was Coming after work to get me. Suddenly that was not okay with one nurse and felt i had to get out very quick. She also a accursed me of taking off my monitor And I had to put it back on. I told her the dr took it off or the nurse with the doctor. I didn't! I do not lie.

This hospital will kill you. Way too many of my family and friend's family have prematurely died from the stupidity of this terrible place. Go ahead and ask other hospitals, specifically in Nashville, about Tennova. They will will cringe at the name of that place. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They WILL kill you or your loved one!!!

I ended up being admitted but left even though they said a room was ready for over 12 hours. I was going crazy just sitting in a room with no internet, tv, or even anything to read i wasn't feeling well at all and wanted something to help pass the time since i was miserable and very uncomfortable in the bed, i tried sleeping but i never could get a pillow they didn't look and just said i think we are out, all i got was the thin sheet that i received after the ambulance got me there and i think it was from a paramedic. I think more of an effort should be made to keep patients comfortable. They said i was admitted but never really said much more i know my heart and possible stroke were maybe involved oh and i did find out after waiting 10 hours to finally test me i didn't have covid 19 which i never even suspected anyway. My nurse was very friendly and did try to talk me into staying and i did my best to try but i am also severly agoraphobic and my anxiety was getting the best of me expecially since i was so uncomfortable and had nothing to do to help pass time and take my mind off my situation. I was told if i leave i was more than likely going home to die at that point i thought i would rather die in the comfort of home than sitting there going crazy. I was told i wad being monitored but after asking several times to use the bathroom and waiting for hours i unplugged myself from the machines and had to walk across the hall and take myself after that for the next 6-7 hours i was able to use the bathroom whenever i wanted nobody even knew i was off the machines and NOT being monitored and i had to use the bathroom several times. I still feel really bad and know i will probably end back up there but i will make sure i have a phone charger and get a better data plan and also bring something to read and a blanket and pillow. I was treated nicely i have no complaints on that my nurse was very sweet. Just after 12 hours of sitting in a room all alone uncomfortable as can be and bored is too much i think for anyone but expecially someone with severe agoraphobia.

I was treated better at Tennova Healthcare than I have ever been treated at any healthcare facility before. They made me feel comfortable, even though it was a very difficult procedure. Dr. Ennis called me personally the day before the procedure to see if I had any questions or concerns. The nurses couldn't have been more friendly and caring. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Horrible ER experience. Fell at home and cut my forehead and bit completely through my cheek. Doctor on call asked a few questions, sent me for xrays and I never saw him again. Another man came to put in stitches, which have left a horrible scar on the cheek. Waited for hours for doctor. Finally went and asked for an aspirin or ibuprofen where the stitches deadening was wearing off. Nobody ever came. Put my purse over my shoulder and headed out on my own. Got stopped because I didn't have my "walking" papers. Some man from around a corner heard the commotion and came around with them. No doctor. Two days later found out human bites are highly bacterial and infection set in. My doctor could not fathom that they gave no antibiotics. You can die from that bacterial infection.

This place doesn't even deserve -1 star...im currently here at this moment I just had my baby and some of these nurses have the worst attitudes its insane .. and forget about getting any kind of good help at nighttime if your admitted here.. daytime nurses have been more acomodating then these little 3 yr old girls worried about a paycheck and not the welfare of their patients.
This is 1 hospital that needs to be torn down or restarted on top of that the unproffessionalism of some of the baby nurses as well.. not to mention they tell you to rest up while your here bit yet they come in every 30mins to 2 hours to pick you prick you and check this and that..to you and your baby..how are we going to bond and rest when all your doing is trying to separate us ...it took 9months for this baby to be born then going through painful and long labor's to only have to keep letting you come do the same tests you just did 5 mins ago..nothing has changed whatsoever!! I knew I . should've had my baby in hermitage. Ahhh and the best part when I showed up here initially and too emergency registration I was in labor she says go to the next window and wait behind that person and when its your turn she can help you at the window. I was thinking huh!??? I get to the next window she signs me in then says ok they'll be here soon have a seat in the wheel chair.. Ok so I did..30 mins later someone came to pick me up.. that would never have happens in nashville/hermitage

My 2 year son needed stitches on Valentine's day. ...

My 2 year son needed stitches on Valentine's day. It took over 5 hours for us to get out of the ER. While the PA that eventually took care of him was great, one of the staff told us the ER was chronically short-staffed and that several nurses had called out. In an effort to be helpful, she suggested that if we have an emergency in the future we drive 45 minutes to Vandy in Nashville where even with the drive, we'd be more likely to be seen and treated faster. Gateway may have a new name, but it's the same crap hospital.

I just had my son there this week. They walked me through everything and were incredibly patient me me. They are by far better than any hospital i've been to back home in NJ.
There were a few bumps in the road, but they were very few and could be chalked up to my own error or accidental personal error of a single staff member.

This is the worst hospital I have ever been too. I have svt, which is a serious condition. I told them I was having fast heart rate and I even told them I had svt, they sent me in the waiting room for 30 min before taking me back just to have my vitals done. Personally this town should have two major hospitals to the public and better service. The wait time should be no more than 30 minutes. And this is why the death toll at this hospital is so high.

If you have to go to the E.R. do not let it be an "emergency" and set aside plenty of hours in waiting time. Just rolled TEN and HALF HOURS here in the E.R. waiting room because the staff said the process needed to start over again from triage due to a "miscommunication". I found that hard to believe until I read others' reviews mentioning the lack of communication skills from and/or amongst the E.R. staff or just overall lack of focus on patient care. Simply put, if you must go to an Emergency Room, consider this, a drive to Nashville may be an hour or so, but you may survive, or may at least be better off. Godspeed.

Well, after I read the reviews I think I had been very lucky, because I just have compliments for Tennova Healthcare. I went several times to the ER, for myself, my daughter and my mom, and the attentions and service of the staff was wonderful every time. More than that, I had a major surgery recently, and both my mother ( who stay with me for three nights) and me, are very thankful for the caring and compassion that all the nurses, assistants, volunteers and everybody involved showed to us. Since the Pre-op three days before the surgery I almost felt like in a five star hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable, and my mom had her own comfy sofabed, too. So she could spend the night without having to be seated on a chair. The cafeteria staff was very professional, attentive and caring, too. They made every day courtesy calls to my room, to take my order of each meal, and I ordered whatever I wanted on the menu, and for my mom, too. I really don't understand all the negative comments, and I reccomend 100% this hospital without a doubt.

This hospital has very poor billing department. They have tried to collect on a debt TWICE that I have receipts for. They are saying that my insurance recouped payment for services rendered to me back in 2015! When I contacted my insurance they recouped this payment due to billing errors by the hospital. They are scammers! ELDERLY BEWARE.

I wouldn't take a stray dog to this hospial, much less a family member. My family has strict instructions not to ever take me to Tennova Hospital ever again. They will let you die in that hospital without a 2nd thought. The hospital is dirty, staff is unprofessional and lazy. Basic things like turning iv fluids back on upon returning from a CT scan, laying open needles on the bed just basic lack of care given to detail.

Emergency Room care is great but waiting to get a room is terrible!! Dad has been here twice in the last month and 1st time we waited in the emergency room 12 hours for room. 2nd time we are on the same path 11 hours now and still waiting!!!!

Why did the cafeteria start closing at 2 pm??? This is such terrible!! Nurses and family of patients have no where to eat without leaving hospital. My mom does not see well at night so we were eating dinner in cafeteria every night while dad is in the hospital. I have seen so many people complaining about it being closed!!

The worst hospital I ve been to my entire life. They have a policy that for the ER you don t get a room. They put you in a yellow room where you get your results, treatment, fluids etc. in front of everyone, basically another waiting room. You are in there until it s time for you to go home. They are so slow and the information they give is not consistent. They don t try to find out the problem you have or why you are there. They are quick to slap you with discharge papers and have you on your way. They don t care. The rooms are filthy. The room they put us in they obviously just changed the trash but did not change the sheets nor swept. It was opened lollipops and chips all over the floor.

DON'T APPLY HERE!!! I have worked here and it's so not a great place to work. They take money out of people's checks, don't accept doctor's notes for abscences, they don't care about their staff and their situations, you get in major trouble for being even 3-5 minutes late to work, they don't accommodate light duty unless you are hurt on the job, and the pay is lower than most nursing facilities in the area. The place across the street pays more than this place by dollars more not just cents. When they do have the staff, it's great care provided I can say that, but job wise it sucks.

Made us wait at the Patient Registration line for almost 10 minutes when there was no one else in line. We were the only ones there and when we walked up to the desk, the lady told us to wait behind the sign...while she sat there typing on her computer. She wasn t assisting anyone else. Then when we were finally called, the service lasted 2 seconds. Okay...so you couldn t pause what you were doing on your computer to assist us for two seconds? Alrighty then. This place is doing too much...waiting in line just to sit down and wait for our buzzard to go off like we re in a restaurant, just to go in a room to sign paperwork...making us even more late for our appointment.

Just left there after 9 hours of waiting to be released. In the time I was there in CCU and on the 5th floor, only Erin McNaulty and Effie showed any kind of professionalism. There is never a re for things with the nursing staff
Just generalized time frames. Most just stood around playing. Told me I was being discharged after lunch, didn't get out until 930 due to the nursing staff. Especially third shift tonight on 5th floor nurses station for 5100 rooms. Talking poorly about patients. Ridiculing them. Withholding paperwork out of spite and then saying mean nasty things while I was standing there
These people should be fired and all of you know who you are including and especially the charge nurse. Will never go back no matter howany times they change their name. The name is not the problem. The nursing staff is. You want to play, work in a day care
That is the nurses mentality level.

Worst hospital ever! Took my mom there Sunday night, was told we needed to transfer to Vandy to see a spine specialist. Got to Vandy, they were under the impression she's there for altered mental state (which she had but isn't why we transferred), called back to tennova to be told she was transferred for pain management. TENNOVA DIDN'T EVEN GIVE HER AN ADVIL FOR PAIN!! And also, again, not why I was told we were transferring. Dr Paasch (sp?) In the ER straight up LIED to me and my family just so he didn't have to deal with us. My mom could have been 5 minutes away from me in hospital, but thanks to tennova, she's been over an hour away for almost a week.

I wish we had better options clarksville, sorry ya'll.

Cannot say enough good things about Tennova! My Mom was rushed by ambulance and had a team of doctors and nurses waiting on her when she arrived. They were literally running down the hall with her, wasting no time treating her heart attack, and saved her life! The ER attendant was friendly and helpful when we inquired about her, which is huge when you're scared and have no idea what happens next.
We arrived late after the main entrance had closed and a security guard helped us get to the waiting room we were supposed to wait in, then came up to the ICU waiting room to check on us and ask about Mom once she was moved.
Her nurses, Stefani and Ali, in the ICU were amazing! They took such good care of her and played a huge role in her quick recovery. I can't say enough good things about these two women, they are phenomenal, knowledgeable and are definitely right where they need to be.
All of the nurses in the ICU were wonderful and when she was moved, the nurses on the 5th floor were wonderful as well. Our family is so thankful for such an amazing team. From the time we stepped through the doors the staff at Tennova attended to our every need. The only thing I can think of that may not be as positive was the food, but it's last on the list for sure because for us it was about the care our mother received. Thank you is not enough Tennova.

Consider driving to Nashville for ER purposes. The time spent in the car will be less than the waiting room. We arrived and the waiting room was only a 1/4 full. Took 5 min to check-in, 45 min to triage, 2 hours 45 min to validate insurance paperwork, 4 hours to exam room, another 40 minutes to get test results, another 20 minutes for one dose of antibiotics (just go to the pharmacy in town for your whole prescription). Also they gave us a urine sample cup at triage and after returning it with a sample to speed things up but they never submitted it. When I asked an hour later they said the results weren't back yet. So I asked specifically if they submitted the lab request and they flat out lied and said they were. Save yourself some time and drive somewhere else.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Labor and Delivery at Tennova. The entire staff not only gave us top quality care but they treated us as of we were their only and most important patients. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Each nurse that would be on duty was always there checking on me to see how I was feeling and if I required anything. If I could give no stars for the absolute worst service a hospital could have I would nominate this sorry place. The wait time is unbearable no matter what's wrong with you (you could be on the verg of throwing up blood or seething worse and they would still have the nerve to tell you in the waiting room) none of the staff also presume to actually care or do their job for efficiently or in a timely manor. The only reason why anyone still comes to this horrible place is becaue its sadly the only hospital in a 50 mile radius other than nashivlle or the hospital on base.

This organization needs oversight of the night shift. Patient care/customer service is far in-between. As a healthcare director I was embarrassed for the management who supervises the colleagues who worked tonight. In ear shot of the patients they seemed to only discuss their mourning for working Christmas making every patient a number instead of an actual patient. I m truly sorry for the other patients who could hear the staff.

My sister was admitted through the ER for pnuemonia and sepsis combined with COPD which she already has that makes it difficult to breath by itself...the thermostat in the stepdowns ICU unit was broken and she couldn't breath good so we went to Walmart and purchased a small fan just so she could breath. The fan was helping and the day shift had absolutely no problem...then shift change and the most disrespectful nurse I have ever encountered named as she stated Tia that's T I A make sure you spell it correctly...instead of being professional and coming into her patients room and explaining that the fan was against policy and trying to come to an agreement on the situation or possibly simply movie g her to a room that was able to be cooled, this nurse came in full attitude jerking the cord out of the electrical socket and saying and you can't keep this up here blowing germs around and I don't know why the other shift let you have it...her disposition and tone of voice, the way she was rolling her eyes...this woman should not be a nurse because she is not a nurturing care giver...she is a disrespectful, hateful person and extremely u professional....I tried to call and speak with the hospital administrator and was swapped around from person to person getting the run around and then the last two times I called back I was hurt g up on...what kind of healthcare facility is this??? My sister left against medical advice in horrible health due to unprofessional nursing, unsuitable accommodations and purely incompetent staff.. who puts someone with pneumonia and COPD in a room with no working air....then for the people who are suppose to oversee this hospital to not even want to resolve the problem and to hang up on me...I do not recommend this hospital for anyone who is in bad health.

My wife has been sitting here in terrible pain and throwing up for 3 hours. The staff here could not care less about helping you. I have been sitting here watching the lady at the check-in desk and she treats everyone like they are stupid and like they are a huge bother to her. it's almost unbelievable how this place is managed. I never write reviews but this place really sucks. DO NOT GO TO GATEWAY HOSPITAL. Save yourself alot of time and aggravation and drive to Nashville. I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!!!

I only give it 3 because the Nurse practitioner Kimberly didnt deserve any stars. But the RN Vanessa deserved them. Went in for a miscarriage to be confirmed. And the NP has lost her sense of humanity with telling patients this news. She didnt wait for my S/O to return before telling the news so I was alone when informed when I requested that we wait. But the nurse stayed in the room and was very kind until he came back. The nurse then told us to take all the time we needed before leaving. So we could grieve about the loss of our child. The hospital in all has only 1 good department and that's L and D. But the nurse was by far the best one I recieved. Remember we arent pay checks. We are people and there are certain ways to speak to people in situations.

I am so extremely disappointed with this hospital. My mother went for nausea and was treated so poorly. She was begging for help and was treated like a child. The doctor was very disrespectful speaking to her, even raising his tone as if he was getting mad at her for being sick. She got a cat scan and was left in a room for 4 hours. 4 HOURS. With no one checking on her at all. I had to call the ER and ask why no one had checked on her, shortly after a nurse came in and told her there was a mix up with her cat scan and that she is being discharged. They did not help her at all and only made her situation worse. You can avoid this ER room please do. I am truly shocked by the way she was treated. The doctor is Srikar Karanam. So disappointed in this doctor.

I want to say a huge thank you to labor amd delivery and postpartum! The staff went above and beyond to make the birth of our little boy not only a special joyous occasion, but also as easy as possible. Each staff member we encountered was so very helpful and they just really went above and beyond to make sure we understood what was going on.

Disorganized and unprofessional, this place is garbage. We've been there twice for the birth of each of our children and they seem to be incredibly disorganized. Patient information doesn't get passed between shifts. So when the 7am comes on, someone will walk in to your room and ask you the same questions you already answered. Not the 6 rights of drug administration, other things like, is this your first child, no? did you have your first child here? This will even happen on the same shift. Oh you just had a baby, and finally got to sleep? That doesn't concern the staff. Waiting on your epidural? Better call the nurse and check on the CRNA, because otherwise it won't happen. The patient is usually the last one to learn of changes to treatment and discharge plans. I've personally witnessed staff publicly mocking patients.
We thought the first experience we had here was a fluke, but twice, well that makes me think this is their standard.

My mom had a knee replacement and was in hospital for 2 days. The nursing staff was amazing and very attentive to her. The surgery team was very good at explaining everything so we all knew what to expect. They kept her pain under control

The wait is ridiculous for one and They misdiagnosed my daughter & sent us home with nothing so we had to come back the very next day because it turns out it was strep throat with impetigo that worsened! I honestly do not think they are properly trained because this isn t our first time in this ER.

This hospital is the worst I've been to. First time I came in I was feeling very sick and in a lot of pain, I am a kidney transplant patient and should not have to wait more then 2 hours to be seen as my kidney could possibly be rejecting. I left and went to Vanderbilt the next day, where I actually get seen and they evaluated me right away. Sucks that they are so far. Next time I went in I waited 3 hours to get stitches and when I went to get them out it took 2 hours. I get they're busy but they should be caring for patients in a proper order, someone with a tummy ache shouldn't get seen before a man that's having chest pains for example.

After about eight surgeries, I can honestly say this was the best, pleasant experience ever. DR. Ennis and his entire staff were as professional as could ever be expected. I was really impressed when DR. Ennis personally called me the evening prior to my procedure to inquire whether I had any questios or concerns. I absolutely recommend him when this type of treatment is required! I also found the office staff to be very helpful.

I had a stress test scheduled for 1pm. Around 9 am I was called by stress test staff and told that I will be able to arrive earlier. The waiting time to place all the paperwork in order was approximated as 30 minutes. I arrived to Tenova at 9:20 and after speaking to receptionist I received a buzzer. Currently it is 10:21. The buzzer is still silent. I doubt I will be able to do the stress test before 13:00. Since my last visit to Tenova I forgot how badly the place is managed. I will be sure they will not see a dime from my money ever again.

I live in California but my mom and dad live in clarksville, and last night I had to call a ambulance for my mother and they transported her to tennova medical, my mother cried cause she knew they would do nothing for her and she was absolutely right. .. she was in so much pain she explained to me that she could not bear it and all they did was give her a bunch of pain meds and sent her home.. they didn't run any tests to fix the problem or even see if they could figure out what could be causing it... Worst hospital ever they didn't even transfer her to a hospital that could help... Total disappointment and waste of time I could not believe they didn't do anything for her ... Wow just wow this place is a total piece of work

is there such thing as a "0" star??? the WORST hospital I've ever been to!!! I tried to calm down before leaving a review and I NEVER review anything but this, this is the worst experience I've ever had period. I took my 20 month old baby girl to the ER on an ambulance (btw, sweetest medics ever) and as soon as I walked in there "supposed to be an emergency room" noone seemed alarmed, noone greeted me or anything....they hooked her up to the machine to check her stats, everyone left and came back minutes later to get a swap, mind you I brought her in with shortness of breath!!!! then PA cam in, not even a Doctor...listened to her lungs and said he was going to order some test and that she had some wheezing going on. I sit there waiting and waiting...a nurse came in to take her for an x-ray, brought her back asked me if I need it anything, I said yes...any possible way you can bring my Daughter some water or food because it's 12pm and she has not eating ANYTHING all day oh and also a charger for my phone, it's dead and I need to get in touch with my Husband..she told me she would be right back and never saw her again!!! her name was Tracy. an hour later PA walks in to tell me she had bronchitis (a small upper respiratory infection) and that he was going to prescribe albuterol and steroids...and left next person came in to obviously collect all info to get paid, seems like that's all they care about..not the patients!!!! & lastly the worst nurse I've ever met...came to give me check out papers and to tell me I was "good to go"...I ask her how do I get to my car, I can't carry my baby and a almost 40lbs car seat...she stood there and looked at me like "that's not my problem" I had to walk outside with my sick daughter who has bronchitis in the cold, from one end of the hospital to the other...just to get my car...to come back and get my daughters car seat! I walked outside crying out of anger!!!! when I came to get the seat back noone bothered to help...noone in the staff...so I put my Daughter (29lbs) on her car seat (40lbs) and walked outside on my own....I asked for a chair and both nurses said there aren't none!

By far the worst Hospital ever. Extremely long wait time in the waiting area. Even on a slow night. But they are quick to get you out of the hospital room after they misdiagnosed you. Rude staff every time. And this is why you have such a low rating.
