A must do when you go to NYC. Very impressive to see lady liberty in person.
A must do when you go to NYC. Very impressive to see lady liberty in person.
Great experience visiting the Statue. Staff were very helpful, cafe and food were good.
Another must see. Glad I bought the pedestal pass...a different perspective on this amazing gift and symbol.
The whole trip is simply about The Statue! Nothing more, nothing less.
First of all I came to see the Iconic Statue of liberty, didn't expect anything more than that, that statue is a major landmark. Liberty was the 'only' thing I expected.
So when I arrived at the island, its a plus points for me that theres a place to eat, have coffee, buy souvenirs and other merchandise, photo booth and friendly staff (atleast thats from my experience).
The view from top of the crown was also great, its an experience to get up there.
Getting to and off the island was easy as long as you follow the schedule provided. I didnt encounter any problem but there is a line at the port because there is a inspection going in. Its like a mini airport secirty gate.
It wouldn't take you the whole day to visit the statue so you'll have plenty of time to go around the city after.
Now if youre looking for specialty coffee, pastry, entre, acai bowls, milk tea, and new yorks best pizza, its not yet available at the island of liberty, atleast at the time of my visit, so feel free to bring your own snack if you're very specific with your type of food.
"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States. Its a huge sculpure on a island facing New York skyline. We took statue cruise from battery park. Its the only cruise which take you to the Liberty and Ellis islands. Do not take any other private run boats and cruise because they will just go around the island and you will not be able to go on to the island. The statue cruise will first take you to Liberty island. At the Liberty island do not miss the museum. Also if you have pedestal ticket or crown tickets, you can go up. The crown tickets are sold in advance on website. Then you can take next boat to Ellis island . From there take next boat back to battery park.
This amazing piece of iconic American History cannot be missed. Our symbol of freedom. She is strong and beautiful. The museum is wonderful and should not be missed. Be brave. Go to the top of the crown and enjoy the view! She is truly a sight that will inspire you.
This is the Statue of liberty ticketing office. I loved this trip. There's an advisory though*** PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS WHO APPROACH YOU IN THE PARK BEFORE YOU ENTER TO BUY YOUR TICKETS***. TICKETS are not more than $18.00.. Do not pay $45 dollars to those guys on the street. Don't worry about food before the boat ride because there's snacks on the boat and food at the statue of liberty island. The food is also a reasonable price. Be careful on the boat ride because it rocks a very much. It's best to take the train to this event. If you take a car us the parking on state street, it is the one on the side of Starbucks in front of the park and trainstation... For 1hr its 24 and for 3 or more hours its flat rate of 36. People I hope you can enjoy have a great time... If you need a guide just ask a question or make a comment to me indotainozapata@gmail...
Fight for freedom
Stand with Hong Kong
We should've taken a Staten Island ferry instead. The queue for the Liberty ferry is too long, slow and crowded. We went through "airport-style" security, which was really slow, we were in queue for security, for I think more than half an hour. The Statue of Liberty park itself was good, a lot of construction for the new museum so might be better to visit in the future. Or better yet, just ride a different ferry and view the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn. Not worth it for the time and cost.
Boats to and from the island can take a while to get onto due to crowds etc, food and souvenirs on Liberty Island are quite expensive - but then again unless you bring it you can buy it anywhere else.
Would possibly recommend bringing an umbrella for protection from the sun has there is only a few covered areas.
There currently is construction on a new museum which will give you something else to do as at this stage there is very little other the Lady Liberty
It was amazing I love seeing these amazing landmarks
Nice national monument. Don't be fooled by all the people that bombard you when you get off the bus the wait is not 3 to 4 hours it's closer to an hour and a half.
Found this to be very interesting. Need to plan ahead if you want to go to the crown overlook tickets sell out fast.
A must visit when in New York. We took the Statue Cruises which gets you right to the island. Excellent ferry! Very nice. Worth every penny. The statue is absolutely beautiful. If you do get pedestal tickets I advise to take the elevator. We took the stairs and we are in decent shape but it made us exhausted the rest of the day. The views from the pedestal are beautiful. Highly recommend! Also GO EARLY! It gets packed really fast. We took the first ferry.
Iconic monument that you have to see when in New York.
Ensure you are prepared for the weather as the boat ride can be cold.
Tickets booked in advanced will either take you into the Island, inside or up to the top being priced accordingly.
It's just one of those things you need to tick off when in NY.
It was a beautiful statue and worth going to the see with your own eyes rather than pictures or movies. The elevator to the pedestal was not working on July 4th when we visited. Had to go up around 220 steps and I heard it is about 450 steps to the crown. I heard that the elevator does not work most of the time. If you are going to one of the towers in NY then skip the tickets to pedestal or the crown.
Architecture built was really good. You should go with the pedestal view front side to see the front view.
Awesome place, go early and pre order tickets. Can get very crowded. if you want to go up in the crown you will have to order way in advance. Be prepared, lots of steps.
This Is A Good Statue I Love It This Is Very Good Place !!
What an amazing statue. Liberty Island is a must do trip. A few places for food and refreshments on the island, prices are not too bad. Some amazing views at just about any angle you can get. Buy the pedestal tix at the least, such a much better view than from the standard ground view. If you want crown tix you need to buy them months in advance but so worth the experience, even the 162 steps!
Great, be careful of scammers , just eat your hotdog and keep it moving
Great place to go with family. Make sure you go early so that you enjoy all the places there.
President Calvin Coolidge officially designated the Statue of Liberty as part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument in 1924. The monument was expanded to also include Ellis Island in 1965.The following year, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island were jointly added to the National Register of Historic Places, and the statue individually in 2017.On the sub-national level, the Statue of Liberty was added to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in 1971, and was made a New York City designated landmark in 1976.
Great attraction it is great to visit and with all security checks it's a safe place to visit
I think that there are no words good enough to describe this beautiful landscape. I'll attach some photos to describe or experience
The crown tour was the highlight of our day. Lady Liberty is both beautiful and an amazing feat of engineering. The park rangers we met were friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to ask them some questions when you visit.
An iconic tribute to liberty and the concept of freedom. You might have seen countless photos and movie clips but a face to face meeting is definitely a must do item if you are in NYC or nearby. I took the beast boat and the thrill and fun on the boat made the trip more enjoyable!! Highly recommended.
It s a very beautiful island with breathtaking views. Some of the best on the city! It does cost extra to go on the pedestal, so plan accordingly people! Inside the pedestal is a really cool museum. The ACTUAL museum on the island is currently under construction, but when it s done you ll be able to visit it for free!
Really cool dual helical stairs up to crown. Need to purchase crown tickets in advance.
The Statue of Liberty is a must if you are going to New York. The island is beautiful, even without the statue. The views of Manhattan from the island are breathtaking too. We went up to the very top of the statue: the Crown. It is something I would recommend to everyone. After the Monument, you can go to Ellis Island. The museum is very interesting. The whole trip is super fun.
The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy
A must-see for any red blooded American or naturalized immigrant who values our liberties... If your plan on going to the top of the statue you will need to purchase tickets 5+ months in advanced. If not, the pedestal view still offers a great view of NYC and Lady Liberty.
Quite the workout just getting up the stairs to the pedestal, thankfully there are plenty of stopping points. Getting to the crown is a much bigger workout and very claustrophobic. Again, rest stops aplenty are sorely needed. The crown itself is a little disappointing, very small, not great views and in the winter the low sun ruins half the view. That said, I'd do it again just for the getting there, epic climb with very interesting internals from the double-helix staircase to the ironworks. The restaurant and gift shops aren't quick to capitalise on the captive audience and are 'reasonable' (for Manhatten).
The statue of liberty isnt even fitting to it's reputation. Compared to Manhattan's downtown it's not even worth a visit, it costs too much time to enter the island and to wait for the next boat to take off. It's really interesting to participate in a boat ride though, seeing Manhattan from the perspective of the sea.
Beautiful national monument. Had a bit of construction for the new museum - it looks like it will be really nice when completed. Security check points were efficient. Nice to have lockers at the base of the statue to lock up items you could not take on the statue. Had tickets to the pedestal and it was a nice view from there of the city, surroundings and upward towards the statue. Would have like to have gone up to the crown but this was sold out 4 months in advance - not sure why as we only saw 2 groups of 3-4 people go to the crown.
As beautiful as I thought it would be, better in person still. Worth a visit. But a word of advice, try going there from New Jersey instead of New York. You ll find less rush in the ticket lines. Also, it s best to go when the weather is warm or at least pleasant because it gets really cold on the ship and you wouldn t want to miss standing outside to enjoy the beautiful view
Beautiful. Iconic. Symbolic. All the above. Really is something to see her in person. Didnt expect it to make me emotional but it did. Knowing some of my ancestors sailed over from Ireland and Germany and saw her as their first glimpse of America. Very neat.
Cool, but very expensive to get into the actual body, and even foot of the statue. Too get to the ferry was $21, but to see it closer up was worth the money.
One of most amazing places I ve ever visited!
Loved the cruise ride
Defiantly a bucket list stop for me! Myself & my boyfriend got tickets to the crown. ONLY GET TICKETS THROUGH STATUE CRUISES, all other ticket touts on the ground are fake. We booked ours well in advance before we left for NYC as tickets are limited daily for the crown. We went late January and there was hardly any crowds, we left on the ferry from Battery Park, security is very like airport security. We managed the whole tour in half a day, but i can imagine at peak season this would take a whole day, so be prepared to que, then que some more. The spiral steps going up to the crown are very narrow, hot, claustrophobic and scary. One you get into the crown the space is very small and i felt a little unsafe, but the views are incredible. The steps to the pedestal are fine, but i would never do the crown again. Im glad i went to the Crown and done it, but i would never do it again.
It's a historic landmark featuring lady liberty, a sign of freedom and prosperity. The boat ride was awesome. The view of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Jersey City is remarkable. Make sure to arrive early so you can get a good spot on the top deck. Also make sure to be on the right side of the boat because the view as you approach lady liberty is amazing. I got tickets to the top of the pedestal which is just as big as the statue itself. Beautiful view. Lots of stairs but elevators were available too. You can also get tickets to the crown. I'm sure the view is spectacular. But at the end of the day it's just a statue that can be admired from all angles. Be prepared to go through TSA style security.
A good place to go, to take pictures, and to feel like you've been in the movies. A day after I got home from New York, I watched 'the OA' on Netflix, and she walked exactly where we walked, and it was cool and weird at the same time haha. You can get them to take photos for you, or you can prop up your phone on a self timer and take your own, and have a fun time :)
Amazing views! The statue is beautiful and the grounds are pretty.
As an immigrant myself, a visit to the Statue of Liberty will not only be a personal but also a political matter. It's important to know history and the people behind who really made America great.
Symbol of inspiration and hope...well done the team making this place a wonderful memorable event..
Amazing experience at Liberty Island. The audio guide as well as the museum visit give you a lot of insights on this iconic monument. Gift shop is pretty big so you will. Find something for your close ones if you want to. Ferry ride was perfect. Definitely a must do when visiting the Big Apple.
Word of caution: buy tickets online if you like to evade the long queue to board the ferries. I bought the tickets from there and had to be in queue for over 1.5 hours just to board the boat but for people with online ticket, there was no queue at all. The scenes were mesmerizing and picturesque. The iconic lady has so much to offer. Plan well and try visiting as early in the day as possible. The crowd increases as the day passes AND the last ferry for Ellis island leaves at 2:40 PM so if you visit at later part of the day, you might not have a chance to visit Ellis island. Do visit the museum and the gift shop.
Beautiful. Breathtaking. The essence of American ideals. A must see place when visiting New York. And don't worry. You're not actually in New Jersey. The island is under jurisdiction and considered New York. Just don't touch the water and you'll breathe easy you never set foot or touched anything New Jersey.
She is beautiful in person! Must see when coming to New York. Do the extra tour and go up inside.
Great views, museum is really good, though missing a lot of artifacts.
One word to describe? Breathtaking. Its on Liberty island next to Ellis island. Took the ferry and visited both islands in January. Awesome place to look at. The statue is huge and looms above you. If you have a clear day the scene is breathtaking. Since it was winter, we escaped the crowds but there are lots and lots of people. Heard in Summer its wall to wall people. The souvenir shop has so many nice stuff we couldn't resist buying lots for friends and family members. You could spend hours here. Minimum you need at least 2 hours in the island. The statue is spectacular at every angle let alone from the ferry. Very memorable visit.
"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, More
Beautiful and enjoyable visit at the Statue of Liberty Monument. The $18.50 entry fee gets you round-trip ferry ride along with the pedestal access. This level offers stunning 360 degree view of New Jersey, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Your visit includes the indoor exhibit space that documents the history of the statue and it's making through time. Well worth the visit!
Amazing to see with your own eyes
With nice weather perfect place to spend some time
Loved this place! So much to see and enjoy. There is a elevator if you don't want to walk up the 176 steps to the pedestal.
Always crowded but specifically avoid holiday weekends.
well worth the visit. the history is chilling and inspiring. we will tour the Crown next time.
You don't have to say anything bout this place. You have to visit this place a minimum once in live. I've booked the pedestal tour. For me it wasn't that what I've expected. The normal tour would have been enough for me.
The statue is beautiful and the area around it is great. The museum has some very interesting facts about the statue's history. The pedestal ticket is totally worth it!
Very nice boat ride and picture opportunities. Also has a new museum.
They let you use their audio guide for free, this is very informative!
History is great to see make sure you take alot of pics and bring your walking shoes
I loved the statue of liberty the experience was amazing! She's so small. My only complaint was security check points. One before I get on the boat and the other before going to the pedestal.
Amazing experience. Got to do the crown tour. It's worth the 3+ month wait for the "crown tour" tickets. Highly recommend.
It was like a dream standing on the wonderful island and seeing the lady of liberty. The weather was especially very very cold . In LOVE with NEW YORK!
Wonderful educational and interesting attraction...Don't miss Lady Liberty while in New York/Jersey
This was an inexpensive yet lovely tour. The ticket at only $19 includes the ferry, the museum tour, but not the actual statue tour (we waited too late to get tickets for that added tour). The museum is fantastic and has a cool interactive photo kiosk where you take your pic and then they load eventually to this HUGE wall with all the others and then move slowly to create the outline of the statue with all these millions of photos. It also shows the number of international travelers on the screen since opening. The ferry leaves the Statue every 20+ minutes and goes to Ellis Island. If you don t/can t do Ellis Island as well, you simply stay on and it goes on to return to the shore. We had 12:00 tickets but got there, went through security (like an airport) early, stood in line and got on. The ferry gave FABULOUS views of the NYC skyline especially from the top level. There is food and drink on the ferry and both the Statue and Ellis Island had a cafeteria! We were there on a 36-degree WINDY day, we bundled up and braved it from the top.
NOTE: There are ticket tour scammers that line the perimeter of Battery Park AVOID! They have jackets/shirts that look like they work for the ferry/tour company and ask if you have tickets. If you say no, they try to sell you a ticket for less than the ticket office THEY ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL TOUR! It is for a different boat/tour that is not affiliated with the National Park Service. Always buy your tickets on-line at the right place or at the ticket booth. Also, if you want to go in/up the actual statue, you have to get the tickets way in advance to get that (we decided to go at the last minute so a ferry ticket was all we could get but it was still fabulous!!) Highly recommend.
Amazing and beautiful park and landmark in New York harbor. It's a must visit in NY.
Great value for the price. One of the best and most affordable attractions in NYC. Highly recommend. Took the tour for $18.50- beware of other ticket and tour sellers for a lot more, such as $31.50. They try to get you on the street before you get to the ticket office at the main pier.
We climbed to the top of the crown. You need to be in good health to climb the narrow spiraling stairs! If you are afraid of heights or small spaces, stick to the lower level.
Lots of history and great views of the city. We climbed to the inside of crown and the staircase was narrow and spiral. Did not enjoy the view from the crown as much as we did from the pedestal.
It was amazing. The ferry and the whole experience was very well coordinated and seamless from parking and leaving. Kudos to staff and planners
No words can describe it but in today's time (2017-18) its worth visiting this place.
The first time, I visited this place was my daughter was still 1 year old.
This time around, took my daughter and my son to revisit New York. And I always wanted to revisit Statue of Liberty for some reason.
The park is just nice to relax even paying for the entrance to get to the Liberty Statue. I don't mind at all. I love the atmosphere. I can see the New Jersey and New York in one time. The food were a little expensive but the food were good. So no complaints at all.
Whenever I go back to New York. I will revisit the Statue of Liberty again.
A must. Definitely get tickets for the crown/pedestal. It's about an hour with priority ticket to get from Battery Park, through security, onto a ferry and step on to the island with priority/upgraded ticket. It's 2+ hours more with the regular ticketed admission. Ellis Island Ferry last departure is just past 3pm so plan accordingly. You have to leave drinks and backpacks in lockers that require a quarter before entering the pedestal. Skip the old dated museum in the pedestal. It's been replaced and modernized in the new main museum west of the statue on Liberty Island. I could have skipped the audio tour but it offers some guidance and extra info for those who have the time to make a full day out of the Statue and Ellis Island.
If you come to New York, you must visit this place.
One of the must visit places if you are visiting the US. View from the top is mesmerising.
Amazing site! It's a must see! Words can not describe... GO SEE IT!
We purchase our ticket through the actual website to avoid ticket lines and issues. Well worth it!
We visited on a hot summer day. We took a free tour. I really enjoyed to learn about the history of the immigration which was very interesting. The tour guide was very friendly and answered every question the group asked.
This is the numero uno place to visit in New York and the ferry that takes you past or up to the island is free so be aware if someone starts selling you tickets outside the main entrance. Get a place on the right-side for the best views of the statue though you are allowed to move around freely on the ferry.
This place has:
Yes=Ramp access.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Restroom/Toilet.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Seating.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Parking.
It was a superb experience to see Statue of Liberty such close.
It's a classic icon of New York city, a must visit if you are in the city. There are several companies that offer short tours for a reasonable fee, but they don't take you to the island. The only way to reach the island is by the public ferry that is for free.
A visit to NY is not complete without a visit to this iconic statue. Very good visitor museum
Amazing, dreams really do come true. I really couldn't believe I was actually there, it's so iconic and inspiring. Make sure you take the guide tour.
Simply amazing. Went on a hot day but kept cool in gift shop and in shaded areas like under the trees
