It was a beautiful statue and worth going to the see with your own eyes rather than pictures or movies. The elevator to the pedestal was not working on July 4th when we visited. Had to go up around 220 steps and I heard it is about 450 steps to the crown. I heard that the elevator does not work most of the time. If you are going to one of the towers in NY then skip the tickets to pedestal or the crown.
