Great place to visit with both lovely views of the statue of liberty and Manhattan sky line.
Great place to visit with both lovely views of the statue of liberty and Manhattan sky line.
What a place! A gift from French is not just Statue, it s a sign of freedom and Strength.
It s established for a great purpose and it deserves best too! It has got very nice view of NYC and jersey city.
You can reach here from jersey and NYC both from their ferry s.
You can book ticket online that makes life easy instead of standing in long Q there. Worth visiting this monument.
Must see attraction in NYC. Highly recommend signing up for a guided tour as you will get a lot more info and get on/off the boat faster. Walk up to the base is 190+ steps so bring walking shoes or wait in line for elevator. If you want to go up to the crown plan ahead. You need security clearance which takes several month in advance.
A must place to visit if you're in New York. You gotta book your tickets three months in advance at least. Always get the crown tickets which includes access to the top of crown.
The way to the top of crown is cramped and consists of spiral stairways. It may not be a good idea for people who may be claustrophobic.
It's a great experience to witness this colossal structure in front of your eyes which has been an identity of the United States for over a century!!
The stutue is not really as big as I thought but still look fabulous and full of historical site, figured out lot of my question about its construction inside in the modern museum on the island
great view from the island, I recommend taking the ferry from manhattan.. much cheaper than the trip-sellers in NY. the statue is always crowded, need online reservation if you want to go to the top.. reservation is better to do few months in advance, if you are travelling in high season
This is nice and has great food not that pricy and i told my friends about it and they all went thier
Wonderful museum beautifully maintained grounds. Wonderful place to spend a day, and the cafe there is not outrageously over priced, but snacks on the ferry are a better deal
Beautiful never realized she was so big. Bucket list checked off.
This is a great place to go with family and friends. It has a rich history and is very well maintained. The food is,as you would expect, pretty expensive but there are many places to eat if you bring your own food. It's a very lovely experience. Not to mention the gift shop is surprisingly varied and beautifully decorated.
What an amazing experience to see her up close. Find out the history and origins of the most famous lady in the USA. Go inside to the pedestal for amazing views and learn how this gift from France was shipped over and reconstructed.
Island with the statue was pretty far away. Lines for the boat where very long so we had no time to go. The park entrance is free and pretty clean. Multiple free toilets.
Great historical site to visit. A true learning experience and as patriotic as it gets!
Don't be afraid to spend some money here, you won't regret spending $30 for such a breathtaking view. The place is packed (obviously) because it's such a main tourist spot. Don't skip out! Liberty and Freedom for all.
The most beautiful monument to see if you are a tourist. 5 stars!
Amazing experience on the island. Pretty much just for taking photos with the statue. You can take the ferry from South Ferry Station. Don't get tickets from the agents on the street. The sign is pretty clear where you should get the tickets and it is pretty easy. I believe it is 18.5 dollars for adults.
Important landmark in American history, well maintained and a must do visit if you are visiting NYC. An impressive piece of engineering from the nineteenth century.
Bought day-of tickets. The line + security took about 45 minutes. The ferry over has lots of seating and viewing space. We didn't have tickets to go to the pedestal but enjoyed walking around and taking in Lady Liberty from various angles. There is food and snack for sale and some shady spots in the grass to sit on. The ferries back head out every 20 minutes, with a stop at Ellis Island before arriving back at Battery Park.
Visiting the statue of Liberty was a memorable opportunity. My only problem was the line for the ferry was definitely too long! I would reccomend anyone to visit this Historical site.
Easier than we thought to get to Crown
We were a little concerned about the steps up to the crown but it is super safe. You are walking up a steel spiral flight of stairs with handrails and resting points. Absolutely amazing and worth the exercise!! The rangers are stationed along the route and are at the top in the crown giving you tips on how to get a good picture and what to notice.
Once in a lifetime experience!! So glad I was there !
Look closely in the first picture , you can see the inside of her eyes, mouth and nose . The second picture is her hand holding the torch
Such an astonishing place!! United States's famous landmark in the New York
If you think of USA, you think about the statue of Liberty. The Great statue on the NYC waters. The ferry ride is awesome. Takes about 1-3 hours for the tour.
Very beautiful to see Miss Statue, but you only can see the back of her not the front, only from a ship you can see her better.
It was cool having been there, but spent half of the day doing it. The ferry ride process is so long with the airport type security clearance.
Definitely a worthwhile experience. Tickets weren't too expensive, they were $18.50 each for the pedestal tickets. The tickets to the crown were a little more, however, you need to book those at least 4-6 months in advance. You can take a ferry from New Jersey, or New York. The ferry takes you to Ellis island as well. Had a lot of fun, took lots of pictures, and bought a lot of souviners.
The boats are crowded and hot and theirs never tickets available to go inside the statue, so try too buy in advance. Beautiful to see up close. Also, get a beautiful view of new york.
A must see if you're in New York, classical landmark with surprisingly good food from an eco friendly restaurant.
Don t miss this on your NYC visit! Awe-inspiring monument with a rich historical background. It s absolutely worth the extra $$$ to go up to the crown - book your tickets well in advance. Expect to spend 3-4 hours here to see it all, including the ferry rides. You ll need to pass through security multiple times so leave sharp objects at home and account for that in your scheduling. There s a restaurant which serves decent food at the monument so you don t need to bring a meal.
What to say. It was amazing. Very well put together. The experience for someone handicapped was about as good as it could get. Yes, it's tight, but they know what to do! Very impressive on how they keep this monument alive and display it proudly... As they should!
NY is incomplete if you do not visit this monument.
The ride to the island is an exciting experience for kids. You will come across the exotic views of Manhattan downtown. The staff in the ferry and at the island are so supportive and helping the visitors and they are friendly.
Along with Statue of the liberty, one can witness the warmthness of French people there.
The garden is well maintained and one can witness amazing view of Manhattan, New York bridge.
Wanted to visit again!
Remember to practice walking before you visit as there is lot to explore in Ellis Island and statue of Liberty island
Awesome experience. Beautiful Museum. Clean park. Gift shops are outrageous though.
The grounds were manicured, the rangers were friendly and helpful, there were lockers where we could easily and affordably (25 cents) store our bags, and then there was Lady Liberty herself! An engineering and artistic marvel. The museum helped to put it all in to perspective.
Iconic statue, it was worth the wait and the ferry ride to see her up close. The site is a national park and is run by park rangers, on the island there are toilets, cafes, gift shops and a couple of museums.
If you collect national park stamps, then you can get your national park passport stamped in the main gift shop for free.
You aren't allowed to take food or bags into the statue but you can deposit your belongings into lockers outside. You deposit 25 cents to use a locker but you get the money back.
Statue of liberty! Every one need to visit that Wonderful place!
I don't know why. It seemed so much more grand and great than what it is up close. Maybe it's becuase I saw the Empire State Building first. Anyway, it still is an amazing structure, even though I think it may be small. It's worth coming here to see it since it's one of the main things about New York, but I don't think I'll come back again.
Visiting the Statue of Liberty at least once is a must when in New York. It's just beautiful and iconic and historical. Everyone must go through a very intense security search, similar to one at the airport. And I would recommend going as early as possible as this gets crowded. The lines for the boat ride going to Ellis island and back is quite long so be patient.
I would recommend anybody to see the little lady in the harbor
The most iconic spot. Must must visit if you are in NYC. There is ferry service from the Battery park to reach here. There is different options of tickets available, some of them include the entree to the crown ( there is no elevator, you have to climb 160 stairs !), some of them even does not allow you to get down in the island. So make sure which one you are buying. The ferry service is there at a frequency of 20 minutes. Most of the time it s so crowded. I m sure you don t wanna miss the view of the NYC skyline from here, that s amazing.
My 3rd grade daughters classroom has been doing 3D traveling Oh, and one of the places my daughter enjoyed visiting the most was the Statue of Liberty. We had a school break so we planned a trip to NYC and my daughter loved seeing the Statue of Liberty. She had done a bunch of homework about the facts of the statue and she was basically like my little tour guide. All of the visitors were very kind and many people asked if they could take our picture oh, and we would ask to take their pictures. We enjoyed the museum. We wish we would have eaten on the ferry ride over because the pretzels looked amazing. We were very tired on that trip so we passed on visiting Ellis Island but we are happy to know that was included in our ticket package. A very enjoyable experience.
You'll need to book well in advance--think a year!--if you want to go all the way to the top, but whether or not you're able to snatch those tickets, GO! You absolutely MUST see this wonder up close and personal! However, she also looks spectacular from a distance, and the boat ride tour that takes you over and back is really fun!
There were a special program with the high audience rating and a popular program by a Japanese TV program in about 1980 's. The title is this. "American crossing ultra quiz". Tens of thousands of people gather in Tokyo Dome in a Korakuen Ball Park and the back, circle, penalty and quiz. Narita, Guam, Saipan, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Arizona, Texas and Washington, a quiz is performed. The final game was performed by the end in front of New York and the Statue of Liberty. When the Statue of Liberty which was seen in the boyhood when I was strong in admiration in the United States was seen, there was something filled with deep emotion. I'll also want a symbol in the free national United States sent from France to be continuing peace now.
Beautiful and glorious, the Statue Of Liberty is a popular attraction. Long ques form from early in the morning throughout the whole day, so, if you're planning on visiting I recommend arriving early.
Once past the security checks and on board the ferry to Liberty Island, ensure to reserve a seat on the top deck - yes, it may be windy and a little chilly during the winter months, but it'll make for the best photos and video footage.
To see this amazing sight up close was breathtaking. A real piece of history. I cant wait to go back and go through Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty Museum. Beautiful view of the city from the water
Great sight, only downfall for me personally was I didn't get onto the island the statue was on, could've been down to the tour I booked
A nice monument located in the middle of the river and is connected from both New York and New Jersey. You can travel through the ferry and see it's mystic beauty. The view from the crown and pedestal is awesome. It's better booking the tickets as it is the only genuine way. A nice pleasant ferry travel where seagulls will also come along. Good experience!
We took the Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry to both islands. First stop is Liberty Island. I'd recommend getting on the right side of the boat, so you can get a good view and photo of Lady Liberty with Manhattan in the background. You will have a second chance on the way out (but from the left side). There is a small cafe on Liberty Island if you need a bite to eat or coffee. I would also recommend the free audio guide tour walk around the island, lots of fun facts.
Great historical site with wonderful information and 215 real stairs to workout on...whoo hoo
It's a must go place if you visit New York or even US. You can feel the spirit of America and also the history. The park is beautiful with great view to the ocean and Manhattan. Make sure come early or book online if you want to go up inside the statue.
Iconic. Get there EARLY or don't go because you will spend your whole day in line. DO NOT buy tickets from anyone other than the booth inside the Castle Clinton even if they lead with "oh I work here."
And if you want crown or pedestal access, purchase your tickets way in advance, like six months before.
Great place to visit and spend the day. So much history on display. You could spend days reading all the history on this monument. Also to look out at all the boats, helicopters, and airplanes passing by
A wonderful family experience. The boat ride was a little unpleasant due to some people but over all once you get off not bad. The one thing they need is more water fountains, and coverage from the sun while waiting for the boat.
Went up to the crown and it was unbelievable, some of the best views of Manhattan and Brooklyn as you re gonna get. Fairly small room up at the top but well worth the climb up 300 stairs.
Wished we would have known that we needed to schedule in advance to tour inside the Statue of Liberty
We all still had a BLAST visiting
Statue of liberty is easily accessible by taking the ferry from battery park. You need to plan your trip wisely if you also want to see ellis island which is the next stop after liberty island. Spare enough time to see both. Time tables vary depending on which season are you in. Ferry takes about roughly 20-25 min to reach liberty island.
Love Story in New York: episode 10. Statue of Liberty
When I came to this country the first time, I was welcomed by her...
It's a good place to spend the morning if you're visiting NY! You can learn a lot about this Statue and take some great pictures! (There are amazing views)
It's a pity you have to MAKE A RESERVATION in order to GET TO THE CROWN AND PEDESTAL. It has to be made like 3months in advance!
Very fun and relaxing boat ride with very low price is amazing for vacations or just for fun amazing place to take some pictures for your social media but you probably should take a picture on the boat as if you take a picture on the island you can't see much
This place is so impressive, rich in history, you have to see it in person.
(This is only a joke, Not a serious comment)
Welcome to Liberty City, The worst city in america. I hope you played GTA Chinatown wars and GTA 4
Amazing place with amazing landscape and views, clean clear. One advise if u want to go inside the statue then you don't have to get the ticket online at least 7 days before you came to Statue of Liberty otherwise if you purchase a ticket from there you will not be allowed to do with it inside the Statue of Liberty and round you're only allowed to visit the grounds of Liberty Island.
The statue just by it self its not that interesting. But the history behind why it was made, and what the statue represent for the American people and immigrants that come to USA.
Very disappointed! I spent $18 per person ($54 for family) for the ferry over to the statue. We thought that included going into the statue, but it didn't. It only gets you to it and back. If you want to go in to see the pedestal or crown, those are separate tickets and you must purchase them weeks in advance. Needless to say, they were sold out for us that day. Never asked the price of those tickets. Parking was $7. In all, I spent $61 to see her up close, to see Ellis Island (which was very boring), and to take a ferry ride. It felt like a waste of our day and money.
Statue of liberty is a symbol of USA. Great monument. I love it very much.
Amazing, but I highly recommend to book your tickets online for going into the statue well in advance otherwise be prepared not to go inside!
Iconic landmark. Lived up to my expectations, with the added bonus of great views of Manhattan
Great place to visit, been there several times. Its a nice tour, of Ellis island. and its all cool to see at least once in your lifetime.
The Statue of Liberty is one of those places that if you have the chance to go and visit then you should. It is a historic symbol and is recognised all around the world. You can get to the island easily but ONLY purchase tickets from inside Castle Clinton in Battery park, and NOT from any vendors outside. Be prepared to go through 2 sets of airport style security though. 1 to get to the island and 1 to enter the statues pedestal. If you wish to climb up inside the statue and visit the crown this is at an extra cost and must be booked around 3 months in advance. There is an elevator up to the top of the pedestal (plus a few steps) and then 162 tight winding steps up to the crown but you can stop and rest at every story if you need to, and at any point you can decide to go back down simply by getting off at a story and going to the steps going down. The torch has been closed off to the public since 1916, but you can see the ladder leading up. Inside the statue you can see the original brown colour of the copper and the facial features etc. The new museum is also taking shape nicely with life size copper face and foot, and the original torch.
It was very exciting to see such a historical part of US. I love history and it was awesome to see one of the things that represents our country. We especially enjoyed going in it. It s definitely worth the price, and it s good to go with your entire family. We also liked going on a boat to the Statue of Liberty. We also got the opportunity to take a lot of photos, although it was a bit crowded it was definitely worth it.
I think a visit to the statue is a must for anyone visiting New York.
There is something really majestic about the statue and the museum is fascinating.
You can spend a long time just wandering around learning the history of the statue and how she was crafted.
While there is stairs, handicapped people can access the platform of the statue with an elevator which shows great understanding for accessibility concerns.
Obviously this is an iconic statue. Symbol of freedom for millions. Will be opening a new museum late this spring, should be great. If you want to go up into the statue, make sure you get tickets months in advance and that also go for touring base of the statue. Only 25% of tourists are allowed inside.
Amazing. You cannot believe how huge until you get close to it. Must see if you visit New York
It is nothing like you have seen in pictures, standing there gives you a real feel.
Had a fantastic trip yesterday to the statue! Book your tickets well in advance if you want to go to the crown. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to enjoy a bite to eat and some time with the pretty lady. Staff was friendly and kept the boarding process moving quickly. Excellent experience. Expect to spend a good 3-4 hours between the statue and Ellis Island. *Tourist beware of the dance crew that may be there when you get off the boat. If they pick u to come and be in the jumping finale, they'll all but expect a $20 "donation" from you in front of the entire crowd*
Awesome experience!! The museum is very interesting. I liked learning more on lady liberty and the freedom we have that she represents!!!!
Went with my school and was one of the most amazing times of my life, it was sooo pretty. The ferry ride is also fun and the food is not bad!
Ticket prices were cheap. If you want to go up inside the statue to the crown order tickets online from statue tours official site, no one else! The climb to the top isn't very hard but the stairs are tight spiral up and down and low ceiling. Definitely worth it but be prepared for leg hurt.
Be aware of people selling tickets near booking office for boat tours....go to island for sure..absolutely superb trip
Had a great time, was very informative and interesting...definately a must see.
You can't say enough of this place. The facts the history. Just being this close to the awe. God bless this country.
Absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth the ferry ride here! The ferry ride leaves every 20 minutes to Ellis Island but from Ellis Island to Lady Liberty and from Lady Liberty back to NY or NJ is a 40 minute wait. Make sure to plan in advance, if it s raining it can get pretty uncomfortable there
it's nice, but you should pay attention to the ferry, and where they go, new york or new Jersey.
This is an absolute must-see if touring NY. Plan ahead and purchase tickets we'll in advance. If you can get a ticket, crown access is an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our family went in January which is an excellent time to go as far as the crowds go.
The US Park Service and staff do an excellent job keeping the grounds pristine with a friendly and helpful attitude. They take pride in their work and it shows.
If you have crown or pedestal access then bring a few single dollars to rent a locker for your bag. They won't let you bring any backpacks, purses, or other items of that sort into the secured areas.
The new Museum which opened about two weeks ago is a must see. It shows the interior 3d structure of the Statue of Liberty and also gives a detailed explanation of the creator and its significance. You shouldn't miss it.
A great trip! There is plenty to explore here on the island even without going into the statue. Make sure to get the audio tour of the statue - it is free. The story on this audio is fantastic and guides you around the entire statue giving it's history and personal stories of those who's lives have been touched by her. If you have children, make sure you stop by the National Parks building before doing anything else. Ask for the Junior Ranger booklet. Children who finish the booklet while on the island can then turn it in for a Junior Ranger badge.
A must for all New York visitors, you get a boat trip, good view of Manhattan, history and to be inside Lady Liberty so perfect photo opportunities
it s best if you can get your tickets online, Inwas there 2015 so update yourself about rules, tours etc
great :) opportunity to see the statue, wise it tells more about the original color of the statue
The new museum is a wonderful addition. It was very informative and interactive. It really makes the experience better.
A must see and an item on my NYC bucket list. You definitely want to get tickets in advance through Liberty Cruises and check it the national Park website for details. The tickets to the pedestal and the crown are limited and do sell out. Get tight airport like security and you will go through it to board the boat and if you visit the pedestal or crown. There are elevators to the top of the pedestal which then had a 360 outside balcony with great views. There are no elevators to the crown and it is 165 steps!!
Is a must, you need to visit this place. The experience is nice . Need to buy tickets online ahead of time . Every level of the statue has different price. Dont forget to reserve you ticket
This place is a must when you visit New York City.
Very crowded but you can still get a nice view and great pictures.
Be aware that you need to get in a boat and wait in a long line.
