It's the Statue of Liberty and that's special all ...
It's the Statue of Liberty and that's special all by itself. Easy boat ride and a plus for us it was a beautiful day.

Nice and beautiful place but be careful with the vendors on the street they Will say lines are too long or it is sold out to sell you a ride in boat that will just pass in front of the statue. if you want to get on the island make sure you buy your ticket on Clinton castle it moves fast and wait lines will not go more than 2 hours. Nice restaurant and views on island totally worth the ride
It s amazing the best place in NYC. I have visited so many times. If you are planning to visit NYC, then don t miss this place.
Wow what a view. This place is a must easily!! New York New York!!
Definitely worth seeing if you like history. You must take a ferry to get there so I recommend buying your tickets in advance. I also recommend buying tickets to access the pedestal or crown otherwise you'll only be able to walk around the perimeter of the base of the statue.
Was amazing to see this iconic landmark ... a gift from the French
A beautiful and stunning iconic statue, located in a river surrounded by multiple cities with soaring skyscrapers provides you with incredible views
A must visit place if you r planning for NY trip. Understand the history and the reason why this is built . Don't miss the museum too which is right at the left side after entering.
Great monument and symbol. Unfortunately getting there is a drag. Super long lines and multiple security checks, then a ride a very crowded ferry where attendants herd passengers like in the Tokyo subway. The monument is great but the process of visiting it is not a good experience.
Love it must go check in takes a while so be at least 30min early very long lines but it s worth it great location to take pictures walk have fun run around just such a great quiet place.
Ok if the statue of liberty is in New York then why is it in New Jersey side of the river. It is in NJ not NY
What a nice monument ,.it's incredible to see with naked eyes ,the way it made so strong hats off to the architects and people worked into it. One must really visit inside tour as well to see how it's imported and build ,also plan to take ticket for crown top, only it's very narrow stairs way
First time visit for my children's and they love it.
From the ferry ride to the stairs climbing.
Never gets old with places like this
We did not go up in the crown or on the pedestal but it was still a great place to visit. Impressive being up close next to it.
What to say... everybody knows Miss Liberty. We've been discussing if we want to go see her "close" or not. And I am happy we did. What an impressive feeling when the boat drives so close and you see her in a short distance - and after, even walk around on the island. A Must-Have once you're in NYC!
Although I did not have the monument pass, I did enjoy the outside tour with the audio guide.
Terrific place and was on my bucket list of places to see, so, one place ticked off!
Loads of people, great day to see the place as the sun was out too.
Historical place. Beautiful statue. Worth of spending mist of the day walking at the island and reviewing it.
Much nicer now and more interesting since many years previously lots of fun and boat trips exciting. Food adequate.
Suppose it was a gift or something? Not sure I get it..
Nice little boat ride though :)
One of the most iconic place of NY. You can get tickets online or in battery park. Remember to tell them that you want ticket with Pedestal Access so you can go close and go into the pedestal section. No extra charge for this. There is a third option of Crown Access which is about few dollars extra but that s not the problem. People book the crown Access tickets many months ahead so you will need to book that one a head of time. You have security checking just like going through airport security. Then you hop on the Statue Cruise. They take you to liberty island. You can either wait in line for elevator in pedestal Access or can climb the stairs. But there are more than 100 steps so recommend taking the stairs. There is no elevator for crown Access and everyone has to take stairs if you have that ticket. They provide you an audio device which gives you audio tour and briefing in various different languages. Same ferry also takes you to Ellis Island as well.
Really good place to visit. contains gift shops and is a really fun place to go and historic.
It was great. Wish we had been able to get tickets to go inside the statue. Plan to get tickets for inside months in advance for the summer time.
It was nice to see the Statue of Liberty. A lot of construction going on which isnt a bad thing. There is an airport type screening that happens before going to the island now. They do not allow pocket knives or even a simple knife sharpener that had no sharp edges on it. So be aware of that.
Worth a trip. I would recommend using the escalator instead of the walking up the steps to the pedestal as the ranger assisting us is quite humourous, and use the stairs on your way back down.
A pleasant place to relax on the grass work fantastic views of Manhattan! Amazing that the statue crown is now open again! The cafe is also clean and comfy at least later in the day!
It's just a cool, beautiful view from every angle. And they sell snacks and burgers and ice cream, and you can bring your own food and enjoy a picnic there.
It is worth it and a new museum on its way on the island. Clean, well organized park.
A beautiful must do in NY, the tour is very well organized and it's cheap considering NY prices. The island is beautiful, great views and an awesome experience.
Brilliant view of American immigration history and French architecture. Go to the top of the crown, it's worth the climb if only to see the inside of the statue!
A once in a life time must see. Add it to your bucket list. The modern day colossal
Small one.but if you are in NY...its needed to go there and have a pic. Terry is fast.
Will definitely come again and will buy my tickets online because I see there's a lot faster to get the tickets then wait on the line to get the tickets.
Parking is tough. But if you can get dropped at Battery Park it's a great view. Friendly staff. Endless amounts of history to learn
Nice place to visit, specially the ferry on the way to it.
One of the best iconic structure and you will feel it while visiting this place. There is a great history why the color of the statue got changed. There are 2 options either take a ferry tour and see it from the ferry and waterfront, the other one is to go there and buy additional ticket. I seriously prefer the first option as these monuments always looks good from far.
Lovely view from the crown, an interesting experience climbing to the top.
the walk in the statue gives you a close experience of what the workers experienced during the construction process.
Besides the Lady gives you an amazing view from her crown, this you got to live it to believe it :)
It was so cool getting to visit this place with so much history behind it. The museums were phenomenal. We especially enjoyed the self guided tour readers they gave you to give you even more information on the things you were looking at.
Nice place to visit. We took grounds tour tickets. Highly recommend to order e-tickets online and go directly to security check line.
Good view of Manhattan skyline. We were impressed that the food was good at the restaurant ' Crown Cafe'. We ordered spicy chicken sandwich, pizza, onion rings and fries.
Land of the free was awesome to see her in all her glory.
From New Jersey or New York City, many tourist come here to see The Statue of Liberty. Tourist always ask for directions or pictures, and I'm happy to help and even translate sometimes. The people working on the Island are very nice and helpful. So many languages, so many people, and such a great place to see New York City or New Jersey. Thank you to both cities and states for making a home and college for my family when they first arrived/lived in New York City/New Jersey in the early 70s. From the West coast to the East coast, you are filled with hard work but endless opportunities. America the Beautiful!
Such a beautiful symbol. Would recommend visiting. Go online to Statue Cruises. For $18.50 you get to Liberty Island for the Statue and also Ellis Island with audio headphones for both places.
Amazing to imagine as immigrants entered the NY Harbor coming from the Atlantic Ocean from far away places traveling for days and weeks and see the Statue of Liberty.
Looking at the buildings at Lower Manhattan my mind focued on how terrible it would have been to watch 9/11 from Liberty Island.
You really should take the time to go see Lady Liberty up close and personal. Even if you don't spring for one of the tours (which we found were sold out way in advance anyway), the experience is still AMAZING! The boat ride is beautiful and offers great views of the city. But the statue is the prize!
Nice place to visit with friends and Family. The Immigration building on the Ellis Island is very informative and interesting. The NYC skyline looks beautiful from the liberty park, so bonus for passionate photographers!
This is symbol of freedom for millions. Highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time as the line is shorter. Security screening is similar to airlines. You can purchase tickets online and obviously they have different tour levels, purchasing online will save you a lot of time and purchasing the reserve ticket will also get you in the priority boarding queue. Book to go inside. It will give you a whole new appreciation for this iconic place.
Plenty of stuff to do on Liberty island, nice audio tours and a cool museum!
Interesting.
Check which part of the Statue of Liberty you wish to see before buying ticket.
Get tickets to go up the crown. Its amazing. Staff super friendly and helpful.
It s really beautiful place. The grand Statue of Liberty is awe inspiring and humbling. It s equally beautiful on all days and any time of the day. If you plan to take lot of pictures, then a sunny day would be best and the statue would look beautiful against the blue sky.
Highly recommend if visiting New York City. The monument is free, but the ferry is just under $20. If planning to visit the crown, you must get a reserve ticket well in advance- they seem to go quickly! The museum on Liberty Island is also nice, just be very aware of the ferry schedules.
Great and moving place ! You have to walk around 200stairs to the pedestal so be prepared !
The tickets to the crown must be booked early. We booked the ferry and the visits with statue cruises on their website so that you don't have to queue.
You have to visit! If you can, get to the crown. You are met with spectacular views, and an up close view of an area that doesnt often get shown in photos.
As you go up the spiral staircase, you'll see some gaps in the walls to some (presumebally) maintenance platforms, take a minute to step off the steps and take a look.
symbolizes the United States and freedom, it is very spectacular, it is worth taking a boat to see, you can buy tickets online, it is convenient, you can buy tickets on the spot, but there will be a lot of people waiting in line!
The Liberty Cruise ride was decent but when you get to the statue itself it becomes amazing. There is a museum behind the statue with a great theater that has a recurring movie of how and why the statue was made. Lady liberty means so many things to so many people. It helped me to remember the American ideals that shaped our country by visiting the statue. The abolishment of slavery and the passing of civil rights happened so long ago that it seems we've forgotten the significance of such a life changing event.
Classic stop, but be sure to arrive before 2:30 to allow time to see both Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Trips up the statue must be booked months in advance, but you can visit the island and museum.
A must if you re visiting NYC! Book ahead to visit the inside of the Statue of Liberty although you could also just visit Liberty islands and see the statue from the outside. Typically windy so perhaps dress in layers!
Awesome place to feel the power of freedom and people.
Must visit place...
Suggestion for elderly people: don t plan pedestal access trip. It s okay to go there but definitely not Must to Visit.
A path way surrounding statue is awesome!
Awesome site to see up close and not as crowded even on a holiday weekend
I ve been to New York City twice before and only caught glimpses of the Statue of Liberty. I made it a point to go on this trip and I am so glad I did. Truly she is the most beautiful thing I ve ever seen and the most meaningful.
The Statue of Liberty is a figure of Libertas, a robed Roman liberty goddess. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata inscribed in Roman numerals with "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" (July 4, 1776), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken chain lies at her feet as she walks forward. The statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States, and a national park tourism destination. It is a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.
The torch-bearing arm was displayed at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia in 1876, and in Madison Square Park in Manhattan from 1876 to 1882. Fundraising proved difficult, especially for the Americans, and by 1885 work on the pedestal was threatened by lack of funds. Publisher Joseph Pulitzer, of the New York World, started a drive for donations to finish the project and attracted more than 120,000 contributors, most of whom gave less than a dollar.
Great place to walk and jog, even better with a partner or friend
It is one of the best artistic neoclassical sculpture located in liberty Island. This masterpiece was gifted by France and ever since it has stood high to the horizon of sky for freedom of USA.
This place always have many visitors. You have to take Ferry to go to this historical place. Ferry ride is amazing and you get enough time to take pictures of New York metro and Dowtown.
We took many pictures and had amazing tour around the statue. Most of visitors were amazing. We helped to take pictures for many visitors and they helped us out. It is one the must see place and I highly recommend to anyone traveling to New York in coming future.
Such a great experience to be able to visit the Statue of Liberty. It's reasonably priced and ferries go out 20 minutes.
Really Amazing architecture. Must visit. I came first time with family and enjoyed a lot.. sure I will come again
I liked it.
In winter season, please be aware that cold winds hit directly on the island and the boat . So I suggest you use warm clothers and gloves. Even if possible a hat.
I would like to see a bigger souvenir store..
Remember about security, I was surprised not to be allowed to carry a cup. The island itself is beautiful.
If you're thinking about going up to the pedestal or crown just make sure to check for availability well ahead of time because those tickets sell fast. Also be prepared to go through TSA-like security before boarding the ferry to the island. It's always busy so prepare for long lines.
The statue was administered by the United States Lighthouse Board until 1901 and then by the Department of War; since 1933 it has been maintained by the National Park Service as part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument, and is a major tourist attraction. The monument was temporarily closed from March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic until partially reopening on July 20, 2020.[9] Public access to the balcony around the torch has been barred since 1916.
Statue of Liberty is a beautiful icon of New York & USA for all visitors coming to New York City be careful of scammers selling fake tickets to the Statue of Liberty it is extremely organized and the best l have seen in my lifetime. Do not buy any tickets from street vendors no Matter how professional they look or how good it sounds it's a SCAM!!! The NYPD will do nothing so share this information to FIGHT BACK !!!
The statue of liberty was one of the reasons I booked to Go to New York and i was NOT disappointed the staff were 100% friendly one lady in particular managed to get me and my daughter free tickets to the plinth of the statue 176 step's up
Definitely a place to visit if it's your first time in New York. There's only one vendor that sales tickets to come here and if your coming from New York, the place to start to take the ferry is Battery Park. The workers were nice about the lockers because there was an outage and we had to get lockers because my party had backpacks. If you do buy the pedestal access and the elevators haven't been opened yet, prepare to walk up A LOT of stairs, even more so if you get the crown access tickets. But the view up there was amazing so no regrets!!
Be aware that if you want to go to the top of the statue, you have to set up an appointment at least 2 weeks with anticipation. That is something new but the view from the bottom give you better pictures!!!
One of the stops we made on our road trip, loved it! Had to go through two TSA checkpoints and it was very crowded (which is understandable), but still a great experience, must see, will definitely do this again!
The place was extremely busy, but once ur kn the museum you can explore and learn the history. The view from the pedestal is amazing.
Really enjoyed visiting this gorgeous monument! I definitely would recommend everyone to see this once in their life! This is a tour that takes place on a ferry. At the end of the tour, you can either choose the tour to take you to New York or New Jersey!
The Statue of Liberty and the history behind it are fascinating both in the physical design and in the symbolic gesture between the United States and France.
For sure worthy to spend couple of hours here and learn something about US history...
My trip to The Stature of Liberty was amazing!!! I had great time.
The Statue of Liberty was a joint effort between France and the United States, intended to commemorate the lasting friendship between the peoples of the two nations. The French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi created the statue itself out of sheets of hammered copper, while Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the famed Eiffel Tower, designed the statue s steel framework. The Statue of Liberty was then given to the United States and erected atop an American-designed pedestal on a small island in Upper New York Bay, now known as Liberty Island, and dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in 1886. Over the years, the statue stood tall as millions of immigrants arrived in America via nearby Ellis Island; in 1986, it underwent an extensive renovation in honor of the centennial of its dedication. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom and democracy, as well as one of the world s most recognizable landmarks.
Every person who visits New York visits this wonderful place. I simply advise you to look at this beauty. This is a wonderful place to show in many Hollywood films. But it is worth seeing for everyone. The statue of liberty in reality looks much smaller than shows Hollywood.
A beautiful tourist place. Little crowded diring mid day. Should prefer in the late afternoon for comfortable sight seeing
Obvious must visit place when in New York. Was busy even with pre purchased tickets, so be prepared to wait in line.
Words cannot describe visiting the Statue of Liberty. Truly awe inspiring. The new museum is magnificent, especially the original torch. Definitely a must see for visitors to New York and NY natives alike.
Loved visiting Lady Liberty! Standing up in the crown was an amazing experience. The staff here are helpful and give you some really cool pointers for awesome pictures and where to look. The elevator was broken from the downstairs to the pedestal so that put a damper on the day, but I still loved climbing all the stairs. Going from the pedestal (middle part) to the Crown was quite the trek. You have to climb up a pretty steep and narrow spiral staircase. Being a big guy, I barely fit! But there are rest platforms on the way up and it is totally worth it. It gets hot on your way up to the crown and while in the crown, but you definitely shouldn't pass up visiting it. Highly recommend visiting here!
Wonderful experience. One of the most famous landmarks in NYC, this trip to Liberty Island will not disapoint you!
Will most probably be too crowded on all the normal touristy times. Try to go there at the earliest when it opens in weekends or during the working hours on weekdays so that you can have a relatively better time. It needs loudly the better part of a day to cover the statue and the island, which is also part of the ferry ticket you purchased.
Second time here, just as great as the last time. In awe of the sheer size/ magnitude of Lady Liberty. Kids had a blast.
I seen a melenium falcon fly into the the stature of liberties head and exploded then a Pigeon jumped from the TOP and died.
This place is amazing. Make sure to pick up an audio tour once you come in ITS INCLUDED IN YOUR FERRY TICKET! Enjoy the view!
