Horrible! I bought a house and tried to set up my water utility account after purchase. The Chicago water utility dragged their feet for MONTHS, wouldn't answer the phone when I called multiple times a day, NO way to reach them, UNTIL I find out I have a bill of several hundred dollars that is "past due" AND a late charge. I called to complain. The number listed on my late bill was DIFFERENT than the phone number listed online, otherwise I never would have got anyone! AND the only reason I got the late bill was my realtor and real estate attorney digging around to get one for me! Otherwise I never would have known!!!! When I talked to them, I explained that I had recently bought this house, a late charge wasn't fair especially considering it was their fault I couldn't pay the stupid bill. They said, OK, don't pay the late fee, we will waive it for you. In March, I started getting e-mails that said "new notice in your account". I logged in, clicked around, no notice could be found. I then called them and said hey, what's the notice? Why am I getting "notices"? They said, no idea! Just ignore that! There isn't any notice. TODAY, I log in, after receiving another "notice", and this time...ALL the notices finally show up. They didn't mail these to me, they posted them online, and their website wouldn't show me ANY notices until TODAY. For MONTHS, they've been sending me warnings about being referred to collections and shutting off my water and dispatching police to my home!!!! OVER A $34 LATE FEE THEY DELIBERATELY TOLD ME NOT TO PAY!!!!! I tried to call them and of course no answer, no voicemail, their phone just HANGS UP! OR it re-directs you to 311, which keeps you waiting on hold for 20 minutes, then the woman was RUDE and simply HUNG UP ON ME!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
