Overall we had a great stay. More hit than missed with service and in the end, food was much better here than some restaurants at the Marina Port. We did venture out to the Sheraton and can't say the staff is as happy and cheerful as they are at the Sofitel. Thank you for a great holiday.

Rooms in need of maintenance in bathrooms in particular. TV channels were at times fuzzy. Was told at 6om that our second room would be ready in 20min and it was over 1 hour. Pool is nice.
Staying at the newly opened waitui club. Rooms are modern spacious and bed perfect. Staff excellent and can't speak more highly of our experience to date
Overall enjoyed the stay. Wi-Fi is lacking compared to other hotels in the area. Bathroom a little tired but overall the room was nice. Membership to the club was worth it although at times it did feel like you missed what was going on at the rest of the hotel. Food was generally good although no advantage plus benefit on some menu items really doesn't make sense when more expensive items have it applied.
The facilities at the Sofitel Denarau are good. Denarau is not great for sea swimming, however the pool is fantastic. The rooms were ok, the bathrooms could do with a spuce up, even just regrouting would make a huge difference. But the staff... Amazing. Every single one was friendly and helpful. They made the holiday. Kids had a great time.
Without a doubt, your facility is the most beautiful we have ever stayed in. The rooms are superb. But the best marks go to Rony. He was so kind and attentive to our needs.in the resort and on the tours he arranged for us.. We will give you a "great" recommendation in our AAA survey as well. We hope to come again. Thank you so much. Regards, Susan and Larry Kearnan
Staying here is always great, my partner and I just love the Beach Club!! Also V restaurant was as amazing as last time. Rooms however are quite out dated. I hate showers over baths...
Took 4 tries before I was given a room as per my booking. Not sure if staff didn't understand that 2 queen beds is not 1 queen bed and a rollaway... not once but twice or they just didn't care. And then tried to book us into an occupied room. But it got worse.. asked for a wine glass.. no such luck. Hairdryer that blows cold air. Clearly being a Priority Member means zip.. so disappointing
We are here for 5 nights.. this is our fourth day and 2nd time to this beautiful resort. We decided to opt for the waitui beach club this time around...wow.. just an amazing relaxing experience. The staff are just wonderful. .the food is fantastic. .the senery is to die for..just wonderful. . Would highly recommend this heavenly place.. Our room is well serviced with fresh towels twice a day . Off for a massage today at the on site spa. Pricing seems very resonable. We will be back.. love it here
It was very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff were excellent. Julie mudaliar from guest services was most polite and accommodating. She made our stay very special :)
Currently undergoing renovations in their foyer which we were aware of and thankfully it didn t impact us too much. A little noise was heard by the pool, but it was quite easily tuned out by the lovely music playing. We stayed in the Oceanside luxury villas. Unfortunately, the rooms were missing any luxury . They were very dated and very small. However, I understand they will soon be upgrading these rooms. Overall, it was a nice stay - the staff were all extremely friendly and hospitable. The pool was divine! It was large and although there were plenty of families and couples it never felt crowded. Loved the different depths and ledges for kids of all ages. The only downside was the room but to be honest, you re really only in your room to sleep but it would have made it much more comfortable if the room was bigger. The bathroom was very, very tiny. It had a toilet and a small shower and the basin and sink were outside the bathroom. Not a whole heap of space.
What an amazing hotel and location. The 'adult only' club was a great escape from the school holidays. The food was very good and the staff were brilliant. Everything was so easy to find and all of the staff were helpful, friendly and more often than not you were greeted by your first name, even by people you had only met once. I will definitely stay here again.
Room for improvement in the quality of the room service. The food delivered was unfortunately of an average quality.
If I could give this hotel zero star I would. Absolutely horrible experience. We've stayed in motels in remote Asian countries that provided better service than this hotel. In terms of their tone of voice, they were polite but they were the most laziest, unhelpful people on earth. We booked a family suit which means 2 adults and 2 kids. They out right refused to change or give us new towels as they had already changed 2 towels for the day. If the room is for 4 people, I am not sure how changing 2 towels per day is sufficient? Now, I don't like changing towel everyday due to environmental reasons however we had to use our own hotel towels for the pool which is another disappointed occurrence. First night we wanted to go to their 24 hour pool and we used our towel cards but they said they ran out of towels. It blows my mind how a hotel can run out of towels at 10pm. We said we are happy to wait for the load to finish drying and they refused to give us towels and told us we need to go back to our rooms and use our own towels. Mind you our room was a good 5 to 8 min walk from reception. So we had to walk back to our room to get our hotel and some of our friends were already heading towards the pool. Mid way to the pool our friends were asked if they needed towels. They were gobsmacked because they saw exactly what happened in reception with us!!!! Absolutely appalling behavior from the staff. Our room came with breakfast and my kids were refused entrance because apparently they weren't in the booking!!!!!!!!!!!! When we asked if we could add them as that would be $32FJD per day/person they said no we would have to pay $50 FJD per day/person because they weren't pre-arranged. On top they outright refused to let my kids in for breakfast for the first day. I get it, there must have been mix up in the bookings. As a rule of service, any good hotel, let alone a resort would've let my kids in the first day and would've offered us to pay $32 per day/person as we were booked to stay 3 nights. It baffles me how this is 5 star hotel when they are so disrespectful towards their guests and has no solutions driven workers. Their rooms are extremely small compared to other resorts in Denarau and have so much regret booking this place. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO HAVE CLEAN ROOM, FRESH TOWELS OR WANT YOUR KIDS TO EAT PROPERLY. Best part, we came back to NYC to find that they have charged us extra and we did not use anything from the minibar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The audacity this hotel has. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE HOTEL!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
We were a large family group and overall we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Fiji. The pool was great ... the kids loved it, especially the slide. The hotel had been rated 5 stars, however, we would have rated some aspects 3 stars only. We were very happy with the bedroom ... it was large, beds & pillows very comfortable, however, the bathroom needed a major overhaul as the tiles were very worn and the water leaked all over the floor when having a shower. The cleaning staff were good & very accommodating, however, there appeared to be not enough staff for the amount of rooms assigned to them. Sometimes our room wasn't serviced until late afternoon. A bit frustrating as we always left the room very early and put our "to be serviced" sign on the door only to come back hours later and the room still hadn't been done.
As always the Fijiian people are lovely ... very friendly, however, some areas were understaffed or the service very slow! A few little things that could enhance a guest's stay would be to have a "plugged in" urn ensuring constant hot water as it was always just warm, making it impossible to make a nice cup of tea with breakfast. There was only one coffee machine and the chap making the coffee was always extremely busy and if there was a queue you had to wait quite a while for a coffee. Also the milk was just kept at room temperature ... not very nice on your cereal. This might sound picky but it's these little things that make a trip ejoyable.
The staff in the foyer and the Concierge were always very helpful ... no complaints there.
This is just constructive criticism and we would be happy to come back to the Sofitel Fiji in the future, hoping that some of our points have been addressed.
Absolutely awesome time spent at Sofitel. Kids loved the pool (especially the slide) and the ground floor accomodation was on point with young kids. We found the breakfast fabulous. The only let down was the dinners at the lagoon restaurant. Not ideal eating at the beach with kids and the food was average for price. Will stay again but know for next time where not to eat.
We stayed at the Sofitel for only one night to attend our friends wedding. It is a beautiful resort. The room was small but very clean and neat, with an extremely comfortable bed. The resort itself is very picturesque, magnificently maintained and he's several restaurants and bars to choose from.
Sofitel's Buffet is a great value for money in the Docklands area. Room facilities are OK, but there is a little difference with the five-star hotel next door. The pool and gym are not bad.
Info on your website does not match what I received at the resort. Kids were charged at dining (except breakfast) when they are supposed to stay and eat for free. Kids club was not free. Had lots of hassle with reception over a credit for breakfast. I had to chase them for 3 consecutive days before I got an answer and a credit. However on check-out that credit was not applied - more hassles! House keeping and restaurant staff were very nice and friendly especially Kara who made my grandkids very happy.
Love it. Stayed in the Waitui Beach Club adults only area of the resort. The staff are amazing especially Maria and Paulini. Excellent food. The pool is nice and so are the cabanas. Beautiful ocean and mountain views. Lots of activities to enjoy and close to shopping.
myself and my wife cannot speak too highly of soffitel fiji although the prices in fiji generally seem to be a bit steep for an australian Iwould have no hesitation to come come back again
Had the buffet, some of the food wasn't of the expected quality. The pasta mushroom sauce split. The cheese selection was quite poor. Curry was very dry. However the crepes were delicious along with the desserts in general
I was greeted by very friendly receptionists but other than that the experience was not worth it and a disappointment. Upon checking in we were told to wait as they got our rooms ready which ended up taking over an hour as they changed our room completely from the original one for reasons unknown. When we finally got to our room, I opened the door to find two Sofitel employees already in the room who were just as shocked to see me as I was to see them. They told me to wait outside for a few minutes as they were apparently still doing something. They quickly exited after this awkward encounter and I was left to a nice and new room, but its charm was taken away due to an obvious lack of servicing. Dirty floors, dead ants lining the edges of the floor, even dirtier balcony and dirty shower floor. There were also no towels etc. Will definitely not go back anytime soon. When paying a premium price you expect a premium service. There is no point in renovating your rooms when your services are pathetic. Do better for your locals.
We only stayed one night before the flight, but the facilities were very clean and we enjoyed the pool. Rather than swimming in the sea, it is a resort where you can relax at the hotel's facilities. I think if you go to the sea island is definitely better. The restaurant outside Salt was very pleasant.
stayed in the Clubroom. Overall experience ok. Checkin was swift. Only complain was it takes too long to wait for the drinks in the Waitui club on a very not busy time. Ive stayed in lots of sofitel and they are (sorry to say) much better experiences.
As an Accor member and a regular guest at the Sofitel, I would like to commend all of the staff on reception and working in the bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, the stay was marred by a lack of any hot water in either of the two rooms we reserved, also accompanied by no toilet paper in the bathrooms.
I will be reviewing whether we stay at the Sofitel or recommend it for visiting guests in the future.
Great rooms for families with the bunk beds Breakfast needs a little more variety Staff lovely but sometimes service a little slow Pool with slide is great for the kids
The beach club was wonderful and the staff were terrific people. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. We had to send our meals back on more than one occasion.
Charming hotel, it's getting a little old but nice. As most things in Fiji it's expensive and sometimes not as good. But it's Fiji and it's people are super friendly and nice.
After most of the day travelling had to wait an hour in the heat past check in time to get a room allocated to us. And no, it wasn't at all busy. Bad way to start holiday. Restaurants are average and dress policies in place as though they are Michelin restaurant whereas reality is very far from that. In fact we ended up going elsewhere to eat. The port has a great selection of restaurants that are pleased to have you there. Breakfast experience is compromised at the moment (due to the renovations I think). It's pandemonium and good luck if a conference is on! The staff are always nice, but they are only equiped to handle the standard things. Good luck finding help if you have any requirements out of the ordinary, like child allergies. The facilities are good and I would rate this the best pool complex on denarau (radison is good but always seems overcrowded)
Not a bad resort. Service was a bit iffy at times. Food ok. Pool was great. Everything was expensive. Really difficult to get a late checkout even though the resort was half full in the low season.
I booked this trip before the pandemic became really bad. My flights was cancelled and Fiji wasn t allowing US citizens into Fiji. My trip was cancelled as well but this hotel would not give me a refund or credit. There was NO WAY to go to Fiji. SHAME ON YOU!
Spacious, clean, quiet, beautiful rooms with big bathroom, air-con & comfy bed. Complimentary slippers, robes, tea/coffee facilities, fridge, TV, and balcony that overlooked the beach. Stunning pool, grounds & amenities. Lovely food, drinks, huge breakfast & very friendly staff. Good nightlife. Disability friendly with lifts or a golf buggy with driver to help you to your room. Easy ride to Denarau marina. Wish we could of stayed longer!
OMG.ONE of the best hotels/resorts.Amazing customer service. They served drinks and hot towels on arrival.Rooms are just perfect with in room Jacuzzi and swimming pool.Highly recommended
Superb location and resort. Beds super comfortable, food delicious, pool and spa A1, a little pricey for drinks and food but its a high end resort. Try the laksa!! Amazing!!
Enjoyed 6 nights here and highly recommend upgrading the to beach club! Very relaxing pool with great facilities. Spa was fantastic, just had a 1 hour massage with my partner followed by a complimentary glass of bubbles! Restaurants were great. Lots of variety on offer in each restaurant. Service throughout the Hotel was flawless and of a very high standard. Rooms were perfect and enjoyed spending time on the balcony. Can t wait to go back to this hotel! We enjoyed the happy hour here way too much :)!
Excellent service, friendly staff that went out of their way to assist. Waitui Club was amazing. Room was good except for the bathroom, very small & difficult to move in.
I was disappointed with the hotel in general. As we walked through the main foyer, the area felt old and tired. We are Accor Members, yet didn't really feel like we had any special treatment at all. Our room was not ready at the 1pm when we arrived, so we waited till 2pm, and still our room was not ready. We had to wait another 1/2 hour for our room. I would have expected some priority for Accor Members after paying for a membership, but I guess not.
The room was very small. Really small. The childrens bunks felt like a living in a closet. If I had known the room was so small, I would have chosen another. I asked reception if we could upgrade to a larger room, but was advised that wasn't possible. Didn't really feel like they tried or cared.. They may have, but didn't relay their attempts or eagerness very well.
We found the bathroom very cramped, old and tired and dirty. there were fresh stains on the floor which looked like human waste, which we had mopped up.
As advertised the room had a Playstation, which we thought we would use, and were again disappointed when we had to pay an Extra $15FJD to use it.
We also did not have a Bose Sound system which was advertised with the room.
The Buffet breakfast was sub-standard, and I enjoyed my own packaged breakfast far more than the buffet. My children wouldn't even eat at the buffet.
The cocktails were terrible. for example, we had a poolside drink at happy hour. A French Martini. The guy making the drinks used some house vodka, then a cherry liquor and cranberry juice. When you are paying money for an advertised cocktail, with the ingredients clearly shown on the menu, yet not used in the cocktail you pay for, I would expect to actually receive what we are paying for. And to charge $28 FJD , wow.. I expect a markup on prices, but that is excessive.
The food at the Lagoon Restaurant was only ok. I would rave about it, but it was ok.
It was sad that we would rather go to the Marina or hotels next door to enjoy their food and drinks rather than spend out money at the Sofitel.
On the first two nights I was so close to just walking out and leaving and going to another hotel, we were that disappointed.
I wish I could say that we would be back, but I won't be.
I did spend a few hours in the Waitui Club which was beautiful, and for $99FJD i would expect that. A hard task with children in toe.
We paid for a week's holiday in the adults area. Then, we checked tripadvisor to find out that Sofitel is going through a major renovation. Upon checking with the hotel, they admitted the renovation was happening (4 months before our holiday) but assured that the areas we booked will be available during our holidays... sorry, I don't trust promises like that. We were offered full refund, so we booked the Sheraton instead. We walked around the resort area and found half of the Sofitel were filled with dirt and construction trucks, many areas are fenced off (including the adults only area). I was so glad that we booked another place, can't imagine how other people feel to pay the premium price and enjoy the view of trucks & dirts. However, the outside of the resort looks great! Didn't get a chance to check out their service.
The stay was fine but the drivers are messed up. Travelling to Port Denerau with 4 adults(including me), the driver tried to charge me $90 because they had an 'available car' going that way and giving the excuse it was a special request (with 4 passengers). The price then came down to 14. I had traveled the day before and paid only 7 bucks for the trip. When I went into the bus to get the remainder of the 4 bucks the driver rode away. DON'T EVER TAKE THE DENERAU CARS. The drivers are thieves.
The stay was very good. As a platinum member I was disappointed that the restaurant had restrictions on discounts ... Lobster and seafood. Was delighted to go to the Westin next door and use my Platinum status at their hotel and get 50% off my lobster and 15 % off drinks. Will know where to eat and drink next time !!
Stayed 3 nites. Not what we expected. it's like a nursery hotel for under 12. ok if u have kids. Pool can b over run with kids. We looked at the nursery from our deck. Our room was ocean front paid big for it but view, side on from balcony see photo disappointed.Food fabulous can't fault it.
We booked into Waitui Beach Club which was excellent. Each morning we attended both fitness and gym. Here we were so impressed by the personal 1-1or small group training offered in stretch, pilates and yoga classes.Instructors Bill, Sam and Alana were amazing. Food at varied times was delectable here as well as Happy hour cocktails, beer. wine and canapes. Eating with family at Lagoon and Salt venues was above average. Staff were obliging and helpful in all areas, reception, food venues, spa, wedding at the beach bure etc. We'll be back for our third time lucky stay!
We stayed here for 3 nights after a 27 day trip to Australia and New Zealand. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Beautiful grounds and pool. The rooms are nice but dated. However, the resort is undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation now. The Breeze Bar was nice with a great bar staff and especially the Barman, Tavite! He made me an awesome Mudslide that was a work of art!
