Nice resort with decent facilities, great food and excellent adults only area with pool.
Nice resort with decent facilities, great food and excellent adults only area with pool.
As with others you cant fault the people as wonderful Fuji people. Needs a lot spent on rooms & amenities to become truly great again. I understand that is happening soon. Bul Vinaka.
Lovely hotel. Very busy at breakfast as one of the specials offered free breakfast, just like feeding time at the zoo
A fantastic resort and only down side was that there was no "free" kids play ground. There was the kids club play ground but you were not allowed to use that unless you registered and paid FJD $25.00 for the privilege.
My second time here and is the best place for me to stay in Fiji. Better than any other resort in Denarau even though rooms could do with freshening up. The Waitui club staff are awesome and the food fantastic and healthy.
Headed to fiji on business, I was met by the staff by name as i have been there three times, upgraded to a nicer room. Duty night manager is very helpful and friendly, he goes a round and talk to us asking our experience, he makes you feel especial and that is all what customer services is about.. way to go Sofitel......., and i will be back with my family next time...
awesome Experience...
We had a great holiday here, but the room and facilities (excluding the Waitui Beach Club) were a bit tired. Hallway to our room did not appear to be vacuumed once - so lots of debris and rubbish on the runner carpet and dead bugs outside our room door. The shower door did not close properly, so water constantly leaked out onto the bathroom floor. My dining ratings are based on the dinner we had the V Restaurant - which was superb! But we also ate one night at Salt Restaurant and it was awful! I ordered the mussels as the starter - and they were disgusting. My husband ordered the fish and chips and the fish was very dry. Definitely would not eat anything but the pizza - which looked good - from there again. The staff at Salt were very preoccupied and not interested either. The staff throughout the rest of the resort were lovely however and very helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my stay for a conference held at Sofitel, from the conference venue, the room accommodation, staff service and meals.
Staff were very welcoming and made you feel happy. The resort out of the room was pristine condition and looked amazing. Our room was very nice and kept clean and serviced well.
Was not good as complain was loadge to the duty manager upon depature
Understated luxury! The staff are first rate and very friendly!
We enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel, meals were great, drinks were expensive, staff were lovely.
Beautiful resort with great staff and service. So relaxing!
We were in room 253, 254 and 256. It was directly next to the industrial air conditioning units that made a very loud noise continually and had a high whine that could be heard inside the rooms above the normal airconditioner. Walking along the outdoor passageway to the rooms, wasn't a calming, quite experience, it was loud and annoying. We had trouble staying asleep and going back to sleep because of the high whine from outside.
The staff were brilliant friendly helpful wonderful people who went out of their way to help and make sure everything was and everyone was happy.. The Sofitel is a very nice place to staff certainly made better by the staff and their can do attitude.
Great place. Loved every minute! Staff were amazing! Kids club was beautiful, calm, loving staff!
Love love love this place champagne brekkys volleyball in the pool friendly staff easy acsess to all resorts 10 outta 10.
it was extremely disappointing as i had booked and paid more to be in the adult area and Waitui Club. On checking in i was informed that that side was full and i was going to be accommodated in the family wing in a family room !!! Given that i was there on Business and was working from my room at times the constant noise in the passages were disruptive. I was sent a cheap bottle of red wine for my discontent, which i left for the manager as it appears he clearly valued it. There was no compensation for the lesser room or any contact made by the resort manager after i voiced my disappointment.
Currently beach front being renovated. Service was a bit slow in terms of request but otherwise people were very pleasant.
Excellent. We will return again. Our favourite resort in Fiji because of the excellent fascilities (pool, most comfortable loungers on the island, best restaurants, and excellent Wi-Fi breadth and speed).
Just heaven one of the best hotels in denerau the price is reasonable and service is 5 star vinaka boys and ladies you were so friendly and helpful once again can't wait to be back moce for now
service was outstanding and we all had a wonderful stay.
The room had a large stain in the rug.
The bathroom tile needs to be bleached, it's stained and has mildew.
The refregerator top shelf is broken so when touch any of the soft drinks, everything falls off the shelf.
The house keepers forgot to clean our room even after we asked them to and posted the sign on the door.
The house keepers didn't replace the soap in the bathroom so we had to use the one by the sink.
One of the bath towels was stained.
There is a large stain the the center of the bathtub.
The tv advertisement for the hotel amenities that played in the room was a joke! You could not make out a single word, it was illegible.
The hotel facilities were good and the staff very friendly.
We found the ancillary services expensive.
Great place to go with the kids and spend all day at the pool. Waterslide a hit with the kids too. Staff super friendly with kids. Complimentary breakfast is good too. The place is undergoing renovations atm, but hardly noticed it.
Sofitel really needs to train their staff especially those who are serving guest at breakfast.Encountered two different situations, where at first we were served coffee very late almost after 45 minutes and after numerous reminders. Secondly, there was hair on one of the spoon that was used for serving and and upon asking one of the staff to change it,I was questioned if it was my hair which was suprising as i was trying to help them out and my head was covered. It was upsetting.Had really high hopes from this resort but was not a pleasant stay.
We chose and paid for the Sofitel Denaru Fiji 9 months before our planned holiday because of their family rooms. We booked through my cousin who is a travel agent and the manager of one of the Flight Centres in Sydney. When we arrived we discovered that our booking had been 'bumped' and the only available room was a disabled one with an interconnecting room for our 2 sons. Having a bathroom without a vanity to even hold a toothbrush, a floor that floods so that you get wet feet when you go to the toilet and towel rails that are so low that the towels drag on the wet floor is not my expectation from a 5 star resort. Placing a 'Please Make Up My Room' sign on the door at 8am before heading to breakfast then arriving back to our room at 3pm to find the room still unmade on 3 occasions is ridiculous and required us to contact house keeping to get them to come and eventually do their jobs. Knocking on our children's door at 8:30pm to turn down their beds when they had been asleep for an hour was not appreciated. The Manager was supposed to contact us after the first night to move us to a more suitable room but he never did. We did receive breakfast and a dinner as compensation however, next time we would stay longer at the Outrigger which is a true 5 star resort with outstanding service and rooms. We will not be back and have asked my cousin to not recommend your hotel to any of her clients.
Great resort with fantastic staff. An area for improvement would be the food offering as limited options
We booked the Sofitel because we had previously stayed at the Sofitel in Auckland and enjoyed the luxury. We stayed at the Sofitel in Denerau and were extremely disappointed with the room. The bathroom was very tired with black mold on the grout between the tiles and the enamel had worn off the bath leaving a sandpaper type surface., making bathing uncomfortable. Our welcome for being an Accor member was a side plate with two small slices of Pineapple, one slice of kiwifruit which was then cut in half, two slivers of paw paw and half an orange. This was delivered to our room covered in plastic wrap.
A great place to be if you're looking to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday stress.....great offers and friendly staff and service...amazing
We had a very nice time . Your resort was very peaceful & relaxing which was just what we needed to end our very hectic tour of Australia & New Zealand. We did have some difficulty getting our room to cool down however. That was taken care of with the assistance of Roni the Collette representative at your facility. We had all our evening meals in the Salt Resturant and the food was very good. Your hostess Anna was wonderful and made sure our needs were met. All in all our experience at your facility was very good. We wished we could have had a few more days.
Fantastic Hotel with unique and very sophisticated service. We were treated as somewhat VIP's - in my opinion. We had lunch nearby shoreline, great food and scenery. You will get free sun screen spf20 on your way in the adult pool. More
Beautiful resort and the best staff. My partner and I stayed in the adults only section of this resort and it was great, the rooms were nicely renovated and were always clean. The pool was lovely and quiet. The spa was incredible, we had a couples massage and went into the spa after which was lovely. The food was pretty good, the breakfast selection (in the adults only package) was quite small and by the 3rd day you have just about tried everything, dinner was the same however despite the lack of range the food was quite tasty. There is an all you can eat buffet which was great and didn't run on Fiji time (this was helpful if you had a day tour booked). I would definitely be back here again.
We stopped at the Sofitel for a short one night stay, on our way to Musket Cove for a wedding. It was a beautiful way to start our week away, right from the moment we checked in. The service received from the concierge and porter team was first class, and we were even treated to a sunset viewing in our buggy on the way to our room (the long way via the beach!).
Room was great with the only negative being a pretty seriosu flooding issue in the bathroom as a result of the shower.
Beach Club was brilliant and a very nice way to settle in on our first night for a pizza and cocktail.
My one disappointment was the breakfast buffet. I found the eggs and bacon in particular of sub-standard, and would have liked to see some more offering in the fruit area. Custom juice bar was great though.
Overall, a great stay and would come back again happily.
Superb, hotel and staff were wonderful. They took on from a 4yr old that it was my birthday and organised cake and a song. Brilliant will definitely be back.
We had a medical problem with our son during our stay. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and quickly took us to hospital. We were also provided with food during our hospital stay & were contacted by the hotel to see how we were and if we needed anything. They were truly fantastic during a scary period of time for our family. Our driver Namani was particularly amazing - we want to thank him so so much for going above what we would expect of hotel staff - THANKYOU!
We booked a birthday dinner here at the Salt restaurant and because one member was wearing flip flops they would not allow us to eat: zero stars more suitable
A very Good. Hotel with a terrific Breakfasr ... wonderful variety.
But quite crowded
Very relaxing place, awesome helpful staff. Loved the pool and yummy food. Just lovely relaxing on the hammocks by the beach
Sofitel hotel was my first love in Denarau.
Stayed in deluxe suite for honeymoon 5 years back. Absolutely loved it.
Returned with children and stayed in family suite, not flash like deluxe but very family friendly.
Love the staff, the location, the pool, the beach chairs, the hammocks, the rooms, the service.
You cannot beat the friendly people of Fiji. The service, while sometimes on Fiji time, was always polite and friendly and what we ordered came out eventually.
Our room was comfortable and the AC was great in the hot temps.
We would love to go back some day.
Very nice resort with super friendly staff. It is currently undergoing renovation but it doesn't bother your stay. Super massive swimming pool with curves that allow having many areas for activities as well as kids area. There is a strictly adult pool however it is paid extra unless you have some kind of a status and this is why one star is missing. I love kids but would be good to have a free access to adults only since travelling after job alone would be good to have a chance to rest in peace and quiet.
Wonderful hotel, beautiful location on the leeward side of Fiji. Stayed one night after a cruise to extend the trip, and have a place to stay before an evening flight back home. Spacious, beautiful room, awesome grounds, pool area is great, friendly helpful staff. Nice restaurant and bar by the beach. All round, great place to stay on that side of the island. Not sure about proximity to things like diving or snorkeling since we were only there for a day and a half.
Our second holiday to Denarau Island in two years. First time to the Sofitel. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable without being over luxurious. We joined the Waitiu Beach Club and the staff working there are very friendly. All the staff at the Sofitel are very helpful and friendly. Even interested to know us on first name basis. The Sofitel has quite a few choices for dining whether you like casual or up to the fine dining and because of the lay-out of the resort on Denarau Island you can stroll along the beach line to visit the other resorts and the local cafes and shops. If you are feeling adventurous you can hop on the yellow bus and go into Nadi town for a shop. We plan to come back again for next year for a longer stay and venture out around the island to explore more of Fiji.
A beautifully well manicured and maintained resort. The Sofitel is very clean and inviting and the staff all seem to love what they do (Vinaka). We are a family of 7 who have all been taken care of well during our stay. The kids love the pool especially the slide which keeps them occupied for hours at a time, in return gives us plenty of time to lounge about and enjoy the tropical weather that Fiji has to offer. A big shout out to the couple that got married yesterday and had their wedding reception upstairs at the Sofitel last night as my partner Fiona and I made the most of the music playing, which had us singing and dancing together on one of the large seating platforms beneath a coconut tree, like the DJ was playing for us so the scene was set... Fiona was glowing.
.. we were laughing, Dancing and singing... then BANG!... I pulled out a diamond ring that I'd been carrying around in my pocket for days, droppped to one knee, looked into her eyes and said "Fiona Mary MacKenzie you are the best thing that has ever happened to me"...
"Will you marry me"...
Well what can I say. Fijian people know how to make you smile. Customer service at this resort is hard to beat and the staff are amazing: they will literally do anything for you. The entire resort is represented immaculately with beautiful gardens and great rooms. The salt restaurant is just amazing with some very tasty items on the menu reasonably priced. Activities are a breeze to book and youll be saying BULA all the time.Denaru port is a five minute walk away for more restaraunts and tour bookings. This is a family resort so if youre looking for a quiet trip away i do suggest coming in the off season or the coral coast. FIJI has alot to offer you just have to be willing to take it on... this just forms part of it.
Great experience, rooms and generally around the hotel looks a little dated but super friendly staff and great service
A great time spent swimming and doing all the daytime activities at the resort
Came for a conference that was fun, casual & social. I bought my 18yo daughter with me to enjoy the fun in the sun. We had a day either side of the conference to enjoy the resort & facilities, such as the water aerobics, pool volleyball, yummy cocktails & poolside snacks! The beachside buffet & Fijian dance experience with the Kava ceremony was an awesome experience. There are so many cool places to experience in the resort , from the different beach bars to the different dining experiences. Will definitely be back for the conference again next year!!
Great experience.
The spa and pool was cold, but that's about all I could fault. So really good.
I'm glad we were near the Marina for the variety and cheaper options for meals.
Amazing place, we stayed at adults only end. Meals, service and staff were amazing
a friendly welcome with surprise fruit pack in the room.
The staff was awesome, friendly and attentive!
The food was amazing.
Our 3rd trip to Sofitel Fiji, drawn to return by the amazing staff (particularly the activities team) and the family friendly luxury atmosphere. And we LOVE the pool.
Few good reasons why we love our stay at Sofitel. We had a room upgrade and we had a relaxing massage at the spa and was offered a glass of champagne after. We did enjoy the adult pool and the weekend band, they played good songs and they are good. We love that we are able to check in our flight at the hotel lobby (Fiji airways). Food is great. Staff are very accomodating and helpful. We would definitely come back again. Vinaka, Sofitel.
We had a fantastic stay. The staff were incredibly helpful, in particular an attendant named Sam, he was outstanding and I made sure the Duty Manager was aware of my appreciation!
Rooms were clean, resort was well maintained.
Things are getting a little tired though, some of our furniture was well worn and paint was chipping over our balcony, but small issues.
Our family loved your resort, especially my wife. It was immaculately clean, super friendly staff, accommodating to our requests, quiet and close to the port. We would definitely stay here again.
There were only two cons that we noted
1. Our luggage was delivered to the wrong room. After an hour we inquired as to there whereabouts and were reunited with them soon afterward. Your on duty manager took care of us which was much appreciated
2. The breakfast menu items need to be changed more often. We knew by heart what we could expect each day so there was no wow factor.
3. We really feel for your staff. Amazing, hard working and still put a smile on there faces however your staff serving the hot grill need a fan or circulated air at there station. We were worried that one of them my pass out with the heat.
Overall we would, and have recommended your resort to our friends
A great stay with efficient staff. Their breakfast selection could use an upgrade though.
Our family had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel and we cant wait to go back! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the facilities and family room we had were perfect and the kids loved the pools and waterslide.
This is a great hotel to stay at in Nadi. The breakfast is a highlight. The pool facilities are great. You have access to the beach, unfortunately the hotel does not have enough cushions available for the loungers on the beachfront which could easily be remedied. The service is good.
The rooms are welll appointed and everything you d expect.. Staff are incredibly welcoming and couldn t fault the service..
The whole area of Denarau is ridiculously expensive though and even though I was warned it still blew my mind just how much every single meal cost..
the resort was outstanding and beautiful and one of the best places we have stayed, but if I return to Fiji we will check out the Coral Coast..
The room was pleasant but a bit tired, especially the bathroom in room 346.
The F&B options were OK, just and the main pool area was being retiled.
Great poolside lunch broke up our cruise. Lovely location. Great pool for kids. Lovely hotel.
Staffs were very welcoming. Bula everywhere. But we were shocked by the ageing of the bathroom when we first find our room. Definitely not a five star standard by our experience. Good public facilities. Breakfast was good with loads of options.
Beware of the frogs!
I really enjoyed my stay......loved their breakfast buffet
I have stayed here several times. In the past all were good.Due to experiences this time I probably won't come back. Had cold water for 2 days, although duty manager Josh came to check it was not fixed promptly. We moved rooms only to see someone else checking into our old room 2 hours later. We met someone who had been in our room a week before and had to move out due to no hot water. This is really poor management. Check out experience very bad. Over charged and took 2 days and several emails to resolve in my favour. In favour most of the staff at the Waitui Beach club are just so amazing, friendly and polite. Absolutely first class. Dined at V restaurant - first class. However Salt restaurant standard has dropped significantly
Loved our 5 days...especially the fabulous, attentive staff who went out of their way to help.
Great place to visit. Spa is aaesomr. Although restaurants were a bit sub par after a few nights. Breakfast is awesome though.
A splendid resort and Spa, in a place with natural beauty and beautiful people. Hotel Staff could not do enough for us. Located on manmade Denaru Island, it's only a 15 minute stroll to shopping, dining and local tour boat trips at Denaru Marina. Perhaps the best hotel stay we've ever had.
My kids loved the pools, the slide was loved by my granddaughter Lilya. My other granddaughter loved the pools and Bella is her name.
The property is beautiful and we enjoyed eating at Salt.
Everything was great. Big shout out to Emosi & Joe the Duty manager for calling my taxi driver to come back after dropping us off with my $2000 camera in the back). Loved our stay here...Would recommend and return!
From the initial booking where we experienced a 'technical error' in processing our payment, and then paying over the phone and being charged a credit card fee even though paying from my debit card, the subpar experience had begun. For over $460 AUD per night (including breakfast), we really expected a lot more from the accommodation than what was delivered. The room we booked online was described as: LUXURY ROOM, BEACH CLUB ACCESS, 1 KING SIZE BED , OCEANSIDE. It was an Oceanside view, however it was not a luxury room. The bathroom was tiny (shower and toilet only with a small space to stand in front of the toilet to dry yourself). It also has discoloured grout on the floor and what looked like the start of mould on the walls and edge of shower. No bath, which was a huge disappointment as our definition of luxury certainly includes a bath and we saw baths in the photos online. This room definitely needs an upgrade (310).
Housekeeping services are strange. We left the room at 10:30am on our first day and we put the 'please make up our room' sign on the door and we came back at 4pm and the room had not been made up and we had to call and ask for this. Most days the housekeeping was between 3-4:30pm.
We had room service (we don't recommend the food from room service at all, very average - we tried it a few times, different items and each time it was average) and when completed we called to let the room service staff know we had placed our tray outside for collection (as requested) and it was still outside the next day, spread across the walk way at 10:30am when we left the room, which we thought was really poor, since we had rung and advised it had been left out.
The wifi is like dial up, unbelievably slow, very frustrating.
Staff push trolleys along the balcony (right outside the door) from early times (8am onwards), which was quite noisy and prevented sleeping in, even with ear plugs. We believe the hotel should be 3 stars, maximum, given the quality of accommodation/services.
Credit card surcharge ~3% charged on everything. We booked an island cruise at the hotel - they added 3% surcharge amount plus cruise to our bill and then were going to charge another 3% on top for the total bill.
The parts which were good: The Adults only pool area was great, we really enjoyed this area of the hotel and would rate it higher at 4.5 stars. Staff there were super friendly and helpful and this was absolutely the best part of our stay. Breakfast at the pool area was quite good and much better quality than at the buffet.
All staff say 'Bulla' every time you pass them and are friendly.
However, based on the other issues above, overall we were very disappointed and it was an expensive price for an average room. We wouldn't stay at the Sofitel Fiji again.
