A thoroughly enjoyable experience with great facilities and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very pleasant surroundings. Well maintained and cared for resort

This stay for me was a business one. As a member of accord, i come by Sofitel every year.
I found my stay as normal, always good. Only concern was the quality of food, which i believe have gone down. I tried nearly all In room dining meals in my 4 nights of stay. The food is not worth the price.

Great mostly - would have loved to stay longer. Good room options for families with young kids with the two Queen beds, though one was smaller than the other. The staff were generally really friendly and helpful. There were a few touches lacking, like no in-room information about room service, and the big disclaimer you are given to sign at Kids Club including waiving responsibility for even negligent acts of the employees (that we scored out and excluded). The food was okay, Salt provided by far the best options for kids meals, with healthy options alongside the usual chicken nuggets and fries. The pool area looks to be the best in Denerau for families, the slide is a big hit with the kids, and it looks to be the most integrated with the beachfront (best sand too as the Sofitel and Hilton just had a load of soft sand brought in).

We booked 8 nights Waitui beach club luxury room. There are three floors. Upstairs would have better views but our rooms still lovely Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Adults only Waitui poolside

Normally I have a good experience this time wasn t so good at all we came there at 3:40. And they asked did we want the dinner special that started at 4pm at first I said no cause we just want a quick bit to eat. But later I changed my mind went and paid the 3.00 more . And to my surprise I had 2 waiters come to me in front everyone and said I didn t pay . And I did so the lady from the front came to my table that I paid with and said she remembered me . But how embarrassing I ll never go back

Everything at the Sofitel is at the right place. Awesome location and wonderful staff. Rooms and dining areas are A1. Clean and a very friendly environment.

Love this place. Especially the breakfast. Great for family getaways..

- In Denarau Island. Closer to Marina and Bula Water Park
- Good transport options such as Bula Bus around the island and West Bus to Nadi Town or private transfer to Marine for FJD 7
- Baazar Restaurant has dinner buffet.
- Beach is private
- Has New Zealand Icecream next to the pool.
-Kids Club has a small zip line
-Lack of personal touch. No one care when you arrive. No drum roll, no one show you where the reception is.
-Has souvenir shop Jack's
-Has newly opened convenient store
-Chef in Bazzar Restaurant noodle bar cook great stir fried dishes.
-House keeping staff is very friendly.

Cons
- Kids club more expensive FJD 25 per session. 3 hours
-Activities in Kids Club is average
- Busy. Check in Check out can be long, lack of Accor All priority check in counter.
- Feel dated.
- Only 2 restaurants. Same menu. Limited choice.
- Shower on bathtub in the 80s
-WiFi painfully slow.
-Service is a leader in Fiji time.

In summary:

Hotel is grand but old and the rooms need to update ASAP. Services in hotels are painfully slow. They are well on Fiji Time. The hotel charges fee for kids club probably most expensive in Fiji and the hotel activities are a disappointment comparing to other hotels in Fiji. The plus side is restaurants in the hotel accepts Accor Dining 50% Discount and if you have multiple cards, 50% off the food bill for big group.

Hotel also invited villagers to sing carols which is a wonderful thought.

Rooms and bed are good which is a must however maintenence is lacking
Facilities are really good. Great pool and well kept oudoor area.
Food. Breakfast is fine. All other meals are poor. Food quality and standard would be lucky to be 3 star. This is a simple fix but a very important one.
Service (exception being reception and concierge) is very poor. Staff are not trained. Food is delivered pool side after hour waits with no cutlery or serviette. Staff seem put out when requested to do something. Getting staff attention near impossible. Orders taken incorrectly.
Prices (non accommodation) are ridiculously expensive. More expensive than Sydney.
I was part of a family holiday of some 23 family members. We have stayed at many 5 star resorts. Your resort would be lucky to be 4 star. Food and service is appalling. Focus on improving this and you will much more popular and have more repeat business.
The prices, food and service is enough to prevent us from coming back.

We were so excited to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms, and to see all the other work that has been done. We got caught up in the travel issues caused by the storm. We missed 2 night stays, so asked for Resort credit, got told. no.. non refundable room was booked. The Room was nice, but.. the bed was like sleeping on a pile of ply wood, the AirCon was so loud even on low you couldn't even sleep with it on. They have removed all most all draws, so very much reduced storage - very poor. They removed things like Ironing board etc, so had to ask and wait for one. TV was broken for first 2 days, and the resort info was all on the TV.. so doesn't help when its broken. Room service was non existent, we gave up on things ordered. Beach club New Years was average.. (Good local Dancers and Fireworks) apparently last year people had too much fun and broke some stuff so this year it was dulled down. All Bars closed at 10pm on Friday and they insist you go to Rupublik their Night Club.. not our type of thing.. much rather be sea side enjoying cocktails etc..
Last night their, ordered Eye Filet Steak, got severed Raw, disgusting.. I went to check on it, saw my plate with the steak missing, but still had the meat I could not eat on the side next to the greens.. no thank you... we won't be back to Sofitel Fiji...

no beach no lagoon only one swimming pool.Not good enough.Dirty minor birds at pool and in restaurant where we had breakfast each morning. Again not good.Few shops and some ridiculas prices.

I donot think we can stay anywhere else whrn we are at Nandi.

Only small glitch is about timing. On a previous nite we were informed that breakfast will be at 6 am. So we arranged our air port pick ip at 6.45, giving us enough time to have breakfast. But we had to wait till 6.30.
Right hand has to know ehat left hand is doing.

No issues here.Staff are very polite and helpfull ,the wedding we attended was suberb.

This resort is great for families - without being overrun by kids. The rooms are getting very tired - having stayed here 5 or so years ago the condition of the bathrooms has deteriorated more and are in need of a refurbishment!
The service is good, the staff are so lovely and friendly. The only fault here is the mixed information - ask one staff person and you'll get a different answer to the next.
The food is ok, not stand out and it was always just warm at best and often cold. A broader range of options for the pool area would be good - less deep fried/heavy food!

Resort was delightful, staff were very attentive, lovely experience. One negative was the very slow (premium) wifi, less than 1Mbps, not helpful for using internet services.

From the start to the finish, the staff were so polite and always happy which makes it a happy place for everyone. Even when I got sick and had to stay on they went the extra mile to make sure I was okay and didn't need anything. It's a lovely place to relax.

Waitui beach club is amazing. Grab a cabana or loungers and drink the sun down. Slightly more expensive but that's why you're on holiday isn't it? Recomend the salt restaurant and the buffet breakfast

The service was amazing- including very early check in of 5:30am and very late check out of 3:30pm at no extra cost.
The Waitui Beach Club was well worth the extra cost. From the incredible staff to the quality of food and Sunset Happy Hour each night....this type of holiday suited our every need.
Thank you so much to the beautiful staff including Kinny, Alfred, Losalina, Solate, Jerry, Paulini, Esilini and Maria. They were all so wonderful and we were so grateful for their friendship and assistance throughout our stay. We look forward to returning to Sofitel Fiji's Waitui Beach Club one day again soon.

Sofitel room was a bit small otherwise a nice room the beach club was very good and the service from Paulini and the others that worked their exceptional. The food at salt was lacking on some items on the menu and quality was just above average, the food did not seem the same quality as on our previous stay, missed the morning breakfast at salt. If it wasn't for the beach club we probably would not come back. The share platters in the buffet leave a lot to be desired

PARADISE.......on earth. A really great Holiday/Hotel destination.

After staying here over 6 months ago and settling the account on checkout we have had multiple instances of them incorrectly debiting from my credit card.

Just a lovely outlook and wonderful staff at Sofitel.

Loud electrical freezer? Noise outside bedroom whole night with disrupted sleep. Spa closes at 9pm, so Don't expect to get a chance to relax after a full day out. The rooms toilets are tiny. Can't even get around the bathroom without hitting your legs on the toilet rim disgusting. And the bathroom door leaks so the whole floor is wet and messy. Slipped and fell very dangerous. Their shops are hugely expensive. $8 FJD for a regular sized bag of chips. $89FJD for buffet dinner. Cmon it shouldn't be that expensive to rip off the tourists. Only reason this place gets a two star instead of one star is because the staff are friendly.

Very clean, great service, located in a private village setting with beautiful views, very quite.

We had an amazing 2 nights at Sofitel. The staff were amazing and made us feel like royalty. Thank you so much to the lovely staff at reception for the amazing service, to the lovely lady from housekeeping to the amazing staff at waitui club. Will definitely come back again. Vinaka

Stayed at Waitui Club.It is a great place to relax by the pool.We mostly opted to sit under the trees. Nightly cocktail hour was great .We often stayed and had Tappas or pizza.Rinna who serviced our room was amazing. If we asked for something she would try to get it.We came back one day to find our bed decorated.I asked for peppermint tea .She could not find it but left calming teabag on the bed.All the staff in club treated us like royalty.They got to know you and would anticipate your needs. The only disappointment was that we were on the ground floor.Could not use patio as it was constantly in the sun,We had stayed at Sofitel before and were always given an upper floor room.I thought in Waitui club and gold member status that would have been a given. It was not a last minute booking .The staff in Waitui club office were probably our worse experience. We arrived only an hour early for checkin and had to sit in the foyer waiting for 2pm.We didnt get welcome drink but were given a voucher for drink in the bar only after it was obvious we were to have a long wait.They did give me a spa voucher though when I did complain about the room..When I asked for late checkout again it was denied til I pointed out that I was a gold member and she made a call and suddenly it was allowed. I have had better more friendly checkin/ checkout experiences at the hotel.Getting any gold advantages was like pulling teeth. The spa experience is beyond words- just heaven. Those girls work so hard to please you.Having said all that it was a great relaxing week.

I stayed for about a week.
The use of a spacious space and the relaxed atmosphere are just a resort hotel in the south.
There is also a beach and a swimming pool, but it is like feeling like swimming in the pool if you want to swim, because the beach is more relaxing than swimming.
The staff's response was good, and when I said that I wanted to go to see the attraction of another hotel, he sent me by cart. I was very surprised.

There is noni juice as a drink for breakfast, and it is also a good memory that I experienced the bitterness. I would like to visit again if I have a chance.

It was said that there was a Japanese staff member.

Wonderful location, food was sensational.
Relaxation at its best. So spa was a little disappointing, massage could of been better.

Incredible helpful and friendly staff. Awesome location, only a short taxi to Denarau Port. A perfect place for families to holiday if they are looking for that resort experience.

Check-in is always a nightmare, reception never seem to be prepared for arriving guests. We have been staying at the Sofitel Denarau for many years now, always travelling with the same friends. Our Accor preferences are ground floor and at the time of booking we always request this and request to be either next to or close to our friends. Rarely do they get this right in fact this time, despite booking 6 months prior and sending several emails with the booking references and reiterating our request, one couple was on the ground floor on one side of the resort and the others on the 2nd floor right over the other side. So valuable holiday time was wasted trying to get this sorted with the best option ending up being one night far apart and then both being moved on the 2nd day to what we had requested in the first place. Initially our bookings couldn't even be found, luckily we had a printout of our booking references on hand so the reception could find our booking.
The rooms we were in the first night were also very tired and in serious need of refurbishment. Certainly not the standard we would expect for what we paid. The next few nights we had a fridge that smelt badly of spoilt milk that stunk the room out every time the fridge was opened. This was apparently too difficult to rectify.
On check-out we found one couple had been charged $100 per night for Waitui Club even though at no time were we in Waitui rooms, nor did we use the facilities at Waitui. In fact the Waitui package was in our original check in envelope and as we have been upgraded free on previous stays we assumed this was the case again.
On the bright side, all dining venues are superb offering a fabulous array of food. V restaurant was as always amazing to enjoy a special,celebratory dinner though the service was quite slow this time

Dreadful resort. Old outdated rooms with disgusting shower/toilet. No utensils in room. Poor WIFI speeds and coverage. The resort pool full of children, very noisy. The whole resort attempts to extract money from their guests at every opportunity. Very slow service and expensive drinks/food. For example a cheap french Rose costs 60 that you would buy in a European supermarket for 6-10 AVOID THIS RESORT

Best hotel I ever stayed in, the service was excellent. I lost one of my swipe cars but they were very friendly in dealing with it.

Had a very nice stay, parts of the resort are looking a bit tired, had a lovely maid/house keeper who each day made little animals out of towels that always made us smile, one day she made us a bouquet from the flowers around the resort.
Unfortunately the water was disgusting whether it was boiled hot water or ice, tried to have a cup of tea on a couple of occasions but it just tasted foul, had a couple of drinks out at dinner down at the port and they were fine, got back to the hotel and went into the bar, had the same drink and it was awful - it was then that we realised it was the water and ice. It had a very funky/moldy taste, then we noticed that the water in the shower had the same funky smell - not pleasant, maybe the filters on the filtration system are way overdue for a change?

Visited here just for a dinner (was staying in the local Hilton - five minutes walk up the beach). Very nice, recommended

It was great for my son to get to experience the fire lighting at night dressed as a Fiji Warrior - he really enjoyed that, which is something unique to our experiences in Fiji.
It was also very helpful to have a guest laundry.
The food at the restaurants was very good, and all of the staff without exception were very happy, polite and a pleasure to interact with.
The wifi access was very slow, and only having access on 3 devices was very limiting.
The movie selection was really good.
We had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave.

Good location, we loved walking from one hotel property to the next along the seaside. The 'adults only club' is great esp in school holidays and at sunset.

Very good. All round facilities, location, amenities etc were all excellent. Pool, beach gardens, excellent. Rooms - excellent.
Front of house staff were excellent - so friendly and welcoming.
The only criticism I would have is the hotel breakfast. For the price, the food and fruit was a bit average. We only had the breakfast one morning then decided to eat every other breakfast at other establishments - those breakfasts cost far less and were made fresh, individually just for you , not mass produced like it was at the hotel. (having said that, the hotel breakfasts were on par with every other major hotel chain that I have stayed at over the past 5 years, so not terrible, just not great for the money).
I would score this place a solid 9 out of 10.

Very nice friendly people, rooms need an upgrade, carpets are filthy, bathrooms need some maintenance. Very dangerous for the elderly for getting in /out of the bath. Food and drinks are very pricey.

Very disappointed with the very poor service from the staff and specially on duty manager . first of all room is not ready when the checked in time is 2pm they gave us room very late and they have lots of excuses. Im a accor plus member but i can't see any benefits of holding that. Booked for 2 adults and 2 kids and also requested them what i normally do that i need to 2 double bed but they gave us only one queen bad when i asked about my kids they said use sofa. O my god i paid thousands of dollars for a relax and nice bed not for sofa. You ppl make my stay here mess and i won't recommend anyone to stay here in fiji sofitel there service is not like which we having in the other countries. Now we have to forced and move out from this hotel. Have to look another resort or hotel.
Room is very dirty toilet very dirty can see all black dots on tiles. I can't imagine. Sorry sofitel im your big fan but truth is truth. Becoz of you we couldn't find the the place to book a room for tonight.

We rented a day room as our flight doesn t leave until after 9pm and we needed a place to stay. They didn t check us in properly so we were locked out of our room, the bar is dirty and the drink was as bad as the rude bartender that served it in a dirty glass. The room is fine but the bathroom terrible and the TV is staticky and freezes. I feel bad for the guests at this hotel.

We are not regular 5 star. We are out of our depth so to speak and have been treated so. Ignored in shops and made wait 45mins for our cocktails when there were only 23 people in the bar area. I can get far better service at the Hideaway Resort and much more smiles so Sofitel Never Again

Very comfortable, very friendly, helpful staff . Great beach as well as the swimming pools. Wud certainly come back.

This was our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff at Waitui are the best and looked after us so well. We were puzzled that our room was not serviced on two days running, but was quickly rectified by the Waitui staff - thank you. I also had a pair of shorts go missing - probably caught up in the towels - when I mentioned this to the girls at the Waitui desk at checkout, they contacted housekeeping and found them! We'll be back next year.

Not great. Accorplus told me as a Silver Accorplus member is get upgraded if rooms were available. Turns out that it is only at the resorts discretion at 'some' hotels.

The fact that I bought a paid Accorplus membership to try out Accor hotels and I was lied to about rooms being sold out then told Silver members don't get upgraded then lied to about being upgraded when the room I was given was no different to the superior room was just poor form.

Why you wouldn't upgrade a paying member who is spending at your hotel by choice when rooms are available baffles me.

Also the Denarau taxi drivers were jack-asses about us ordering airport taxis and not using them. They hassled the airport taxi guys which is so unprofessional.

Very kind and welcoming staff rooms were very tidy and clean. However the showers were dirty especially the tiles also the fridge had broken glass bottles inside.

The Adults Only Beach Club was fantastic, the happy hour divine, the service impeccable, and the gym picturesque. However, the room and bathroom were quite old and dated.
