I have been getting letters to upgrade my wireless system and pay them $59 . Even though i can go with other security company i give them a chance as they are local company . I was scheduled for 2 weeks later on Nov 30th , The tech Jason calls me early while i am sleeping at 8.30am and leave a message that he is on his way and should arrive in 20 minute . I get up on my day off and get ready for him than 2 hours later i messaged him to know his whereabouts and he claims he cant find my address
What kind of Alarm monitoring company is this that cant find address so what happens in case of Emergency
I asked him if he has google maps and he goes well my sheet has wrong address so the company i am with for last 4 years has my address wrong so in case there was emergency police would not know where to go
I will look for another company once i finish my term as i have paid in advance , if i could get refund i would terminate now
Smith and Thomson is a Lousy company and i dont recommend doing business with them

They were able to get out within a few days and get our security monitoring and pest control completed. Competitive rates, even more so when you bundle their services.

Shaun Lackey came out to install my alarm system. He was very thorough and helpful with the installation. I thought we needed to replace prior equipment but Shawn explained how we was able to keep what I already had. We saved some money and received awesome customer service so I m a happy customer.

This is for the Pest Control part not the Security part.
I tried to google the Pest Control one, it always brought me to this Security part. I am happy with the security part, no complain and been using it for several years (the cheapest I can find with no problem w service). So I thought I want to try the Pest Control part since it offers 25% off and no other companies can beat that price. But the customer service John is very very rude. Raise his voice when answering my questions. When I told him he was rude, he did not offer apology & blatantly saying it was annoying to answer my questions. What the heck. I asked basic questions, because I want to compare with the current pest control company that I've been using for a very very long time. I want to make sure I can get the same service, so it's not cheaper but less service. The manager should review the phone conversation made on July 23, around 12 - 1 pm. Try to find the recording. If John does not have the patient in selling, he should not on the phone and ruin customer's day by being so rude. I'm sure he can hear my accent, if he felt superior or if he thought he can do whatever, he should not on the phone with customer. It will just ruin the company's good security rating. Pest Control is basic & my current company's I'm using is very satisfactory but more expensive. Though originally I booked with John, but my husband said, what the heck, we are going to stick with our current pest control company which is Berrett Pest Control where we know for several years, very polite & consistently provides good service. So, I called again to cancel. Just because you are cheap does not mean you can forgo service and treat customer rudely by raising your voiced and and tell customer annoying just for regular questions.

Decided it was time for a change with the last security company that handled both my home and business both from a competency side and exorbitant service charge cost . I was referred to STS by someone else on yelp complaining about them as I had. I called Smith Thompson, super straight forward on the phone and scheduled my appointment. The gentleman came out on time and was the kind of person you would trust to come in an evaluate your system. Quickly identified a sensor problem and replaced. One of my backup batteries didn't test well and he replaced that free of charge as a courtesy for taking over the account. Went through the whole system and found several things that could just be done better-walked through programming and we were done. That was 3 weeks ago and I could not be happier. These guys are legit, reasonably priced and know what they are doing. I'm a fan of Smith Thompson.

Well, when I bought my first house, I started with all those big shots in the market. But when a friend referred me to Smith Thompson, I called them after their closing time of 6 PM for customer support. I realized and hung up. But surprise someone called me in 15 min saying we are sorry I guess you called after hours and fixed an appointment the next day. And bingo the voice on the other side was sweet reassuring and convincing. Their price for the similar service was the best in the market. They do not have any contract, they will use the equipment already there in your house and not charge you for anything extra. They are reliable as a few times I accidently tripped the alarm, bingo I get a call from their call center. The first thing the lady on the other side said is "Are you alright?" not the typical Hi, your alarm tripped what is your location, who is at home and all the copy book stuff. It was so warming response. I am a customer with them since past 3 months and tell you what I am not going anywhere as long as I am in Texas. When in Texas just go Smith Thompson

We've used Smith Thomson Home Security for years and have been totally pleased. On the few times we've accidentally set our alarm off, they have been quick to respond with a phone call to see if all is okay. We've also used their Pest Control service since its inception and are extremely pleased with this service, too. Joe, our regular technician, is always pleasant and asks if we are having any specific problems he needs to provide service for. Appreciate his keeping the pests at bay!

This company is a joke!! I have been with Vivint for 3 years and decided to switch to Smith Thompson for the price. Though I made a good choice... I didn t. I ended up canceling service and going back to Vivint!! They may cost more but run MILES around smith Thompson. After reading some reviews online the owner responds to almost every bad review. IF YOU CANT HANDEL CRITICISM YOU SHOULDNT BE ONLINE. I own a business in downtown Austin (with ADT, cost more than $250 a month for business service) but is super reliable!!!!

Smith Thompson Pest Control is always on time , they ask my concerns before treating the house and they are reasonably priced!

We signed up 5 days ago and we thought we test the dispatch and see when we will get the call, well we turned the alarm on for 20 seconds and no call then i called female dispatcher she said they will call within 30 to 45 seconds, so we tested the alarm again and this time we let the alarm sound for 45 seconds so i called and while i was on the phone with a male dispatcher another dispatcher called the first phone number on file which was my son so from the moment alarm sounded till my son got a call from dispatch it took 1:30 seconds which to me it is unacceptable, according to the FAQ on their website question in reference to what happens when my alarm goes off? they say A dispatcher IMMEDIATELY CALLS YOU. so this is not a true statement, i been searching for good monitoring company, and i was with central security their call back was very good, they would call us within first 15 seconds, they even called to run a test monthly BUT i hated the 3 year contract. the reasons i came to smith Thompson was no contract and the positive reviews now i have my doubts what good does it do to pay for monitoring if they give 1:30 for a thief to do what they want. Please update your site to mention minimum call back time is 30 to 45 seconds.

The technician Gary was on-time as was well planned for the scheduled tasks. He was very professional, and patient enough to explain the new features with the equipments (I am with SmithThompson for the last 16 years, and moved to new home and the equipments are totally different), so needed a walk-thru :) overall, it was an awesome experience to work with Gary, and as always SmithThompson is one of the best in the Dallas area in the security and monitoring service.

Have a subscription to both the Alarm and Pest Management Service in North Dallas area for the past few years. It is a no-nonsense, value for money service where Smith Thompson respond quickly (2 rings at the most on the phone), arrive on agreed schedules, and price any changes/modifications reasonably. Have also received a couple of callback as part of monitoring service (luckily all false alarms!!!) so it does work

Dave is an excellent technician, he provided really useful tips to get rid of fruit flies and other bugs. I would definitely recommend Smith Thompson.

I was excited to get started with Smith Thompson after reading all the great reviews. But my personal experience was far from positive. I scheduled for an install but when the technician came out he informed me he did not have enough time to install and had another appointment elsewhere. The technician promised he would have someone reach out to me to reschedule this appointment. I waited a day and heard nothing back, so I called to try to get this rescheduled. The sales agent was very helpful and said he would arrange for someone to install the new system. Still nothing almost a month later, so I call back today and spoke to Matt. Matt was very rude and a bad representative which made my fat final decision to not move forward with Smith and Thompson. Hope this is just a one off situation.

Update 3/26/18. Service has been completed and we are up and running with a security system. Thank you all for the redo. Everything went well so I wanted to update my review rating to a 5 Star. Thanks.

Smith Thompson made it easy to switch over from ADT save me over $60 a month! The tech came out, was right on time, and had the whole thing wrapped up in about a half an hour. I love that they are local to Texas, and whenever I call, they are helpful.

I just had my install and my technician was super professional and took the time to explain every detail of the process. He called 30 minutes prior to arrival, and showed up on the first hour of his 4 hour window frame. We had been looking to transfer our alarm service away from a large corporation. We heard about Smith Thompson after asking for recommendations from our HOA social media page and the overwhelming majority came back with ST as the referral.

I called the number on the website for more information and to ask a few questions and Jeremy R. was polite, professional, and was able to address each concern I had. We went ahead and scheduled to have them come out for the install and activation. We had a few new windows put in, as well as a new door and, as a result, new contacts and/or wireless contacts were needed to supplement. Both the contacts and wireless contacts were installed at a reasonable and affordable price. After installation, the tech went over how to use the system in its entirety and well as how to register the system with our town. Overall, I m very pleased with the service and product we ve received and would refer them to friends/family.

We have had nothing but good experiences with smith and thompson pest control, we have been using them since 4 years, they call you promptly to schedule it and will call you on the day off to give you a headsup if you request it. Smith Thompson has always provided us with great service . They are reasonably priced and have been a good value for us over the last 10 years. We would definitely recommend them for anyone needing Alarm or Pest services.

I have only been with Smith Thompson for a few weeks, but I am very impressed with the level of customer service and the cost of monitoring. Our house was pre-wired in 1999 with a system that they were able to repair and reuse. They upgraded the key pads and the system itself for a very small fee compared to other companies and it only took about an hour to do everything. Also, the monthly fee is much less than any other companies I spoke to.

I have not had the alarm tripped, so I can not comment on how responsive the team is, or how pleased I am with response times, but based on my experience so far, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an alarm monitoring company.
