We have been Smith Thompson customers since 2015 and have recently had them install three cameras and a door bell that we view on our cell phones. The service is great and the install was very well done. We highly recommend them.
Great service. Installer came out and fitted the system. About 3 weeks later I had a technical problem with the keypad. Without hesitation they came out and replaced it.

I had scheduled both house alarm and post control services. Both technicians called 30 minutes prior to arrival. Both are very professional and polite with shoe covers and masks. I mentioned the potential carpenter ants problem to the pest control guy. He has checked carefully and updated me on the result. The alarm technician worked inside till all is set. They both explained details to me. I am very happy about their services.
Making an appointment was simple and easy, even when I had to change the first appointment date. The CSR was very accommodating with my changes. They informed me the technician will call me 30 minutes prior to arriving. The technician was great in communicating with me. His prior job kept him a little later than expected but he kept me informed through the entire process. I really appreciated that considering I had a birthday party to attend. The technician worked quickly and efficiently. He was in and out. Because of the delay, I was not charged for the additional pad. I have been happy with the company so far. I even have a technician coming out again next week for an upgrade.

From the customer service Associate who set up our service to the technician who came into our home, it really was a very great experience. After doing some research on home security services, I called Smith Thompson. The salesperson that I spoke with was extremely patient and answered all of my questions. I described exactly what level of security I was looking for and he was able to walk me through the various plans that are offered by Smith Thompson. He scheduled a tech to come to my home to see what system I already had wired in my home and provided me with a quote. It was a very reasonable price for installation and the plan I chose works well for what I wanted. I was then scheduled for the installation. The tech that showed up to do the installation was on time, very courteous, wore a mask, and shoe coverings. He explained everything that he was doing and did a full demonstration of the system. Each tech was very friendly and easy to talk to and by the end of each visit, I think that I knew their life stories. Overall, it was a great experience (both visits). I would highly recommend Smith Thompson services.
We just had Smith Thompson installed at our house and the technician was great. He was very professional, nice, and knowledgeable. He did the job quickly and well. I also love that the company has had the same rates for like over 20 years. We dumped out last security vendor because they increased our price every year unless we called to complain...so it s refreshing to be with a company now that values their loyal customers and rewards them with no hassle pricing.
The only complaint is that the technician arrived past our scheduled window. Once Jeff arrived he was all business and the entire process did not take much more than 15 minutes.

Just a quick shout out to Smith Thompson. I went ahead and chose them based on their low monthly service fee and no contract. I had an existing system and I was very happy by the low cost it took to convert the system over to them. The tech who installed the new equipment was great, we went ahead and did the phone app (it is extra each month though) and he made sure it we had it running before he left as well. Great first impression, I'm happy we went with them.

I just had my alarm system installed this afternoon by D. Stewart(technician). Not only did he thoroughly explain the few additional fees due to the outdated system (2004) but he also went through a series of tests to confirm it worked properly. He checked all 19 windows in my home. This gentleman deserves an "Employee of the Month" Award. I called other alarm companies and was given the same minimum 36 month term. Plus, they tried to convince me that the camera on the doorbell was a fantastic idea for an additional $199...umm...I'll pass. I'll keep the no strings attached approach of Smith Thompson. Keep it simple. Alarm goes off...send the calvary. Enough said.

We have an existing system and wanted to get rid of our landline. Our existing monitoring company wanted to increase our monthly rate $7 as well as charge for a transmitter. Smith Thompson also charged for the transmitter but reduced our monthly monitoring bill by about $6 per month. The installation was very quick (15 minutes), the installers were on time, and called ahead to make sure we were home. The next day I tested the system and got a quick call from ST to confirm they had received the alarm call. Very satisfied so far.
My entire experience at Smith Thompson was first class. Every time I called, I was able to speak with someone directly, and I was able to have my home security system turned back on after purchasing a new home. It is important to me buy local when possible, and Smith Thompson made me comfortable with that. I also like that their customer support center is based locally versus offshore somewhere. Their prices are also the best.

I have used Smith Thompson Security in my home for years. They are a very reasonably priced monitoring and great to work with. My recent upgrade was great other than the service tech did not meet the appointment window. He was a half hour later than the 4 hour window we waited for him. I would have appreciated and update if he was running late so that we could accomplish some of our errands and other task. So improvement in appointment communication would have be appreciated.

My technician Justin was fantastic. He talked me through the equipment that I would need, tried to get me the best deal, and spent a lot of time going over how to arm and disarm the alarm and all the different settings. Unfortunately my fire alarm already went off due to construction and I immediately received a call from Smith Thompson to make sure everything was okay and to let me know the fire department was already notified and on their way (I did feel like an idiot knowing they came out to my place bc of dust!). Would highly recommend these guys!
