Not only do we have the pest control service with Smith Thompson, but we also have their alarm service in our home. Top notch company & service all around. From the scheduling/billing department to the technicians that come into our home. And Dan our exterminator is the best! He answers all our questions & does not mind entertaining my 4yr olds questions in regards to bugs!

We've been with Smith Thompson since 2006. They are quick to contact us should the alarm go off. Staff is friendly and you can't beat the price! We are so satisfied with the alarm service that we started using them for pest control, too. We highly recommend Smith Thompson for your alarm or pest control needs.

As far as the Pest service, I am beyond thankful for their help in ridding my home of a rat problem, an ant problem, and keeping the rest of the buggies AWAY!

We have been with Smith Thompson Home Security from the last 20+ years. Not only they are cost effective, they respond to service calls immediately.

We are about three years into our no-contact, very reasonably priced use of S-T. They are quick to respond to alarms. They are easy to work with. Our old system was just this week upgraded to get us connected to it by app, all at a very reasonable price for the upgrade and a very small difference in monthly cost. What's not to love?

I've been with smith thompson now for almost three years and i'm very happy. They're one of the least expensive monitoring companies in the game. I've probabaly had 4 or 5 false alarms and i've been called every time. There aren't any fancy bells or whistles but it's good service for a fair price... if they continue to do business the way they have been doing for the last three years i'll most likely be a customer for life.

Service is always timely and work is done right the first time. Smith Thompson s monitoring is very effective and a great value.

I used to have ADT at my house, but I had to have some windows replaced and they were going to charge me $50 a window to reattach the security system! I decided to go with Smith Thompson because they only changed $15 a window to fix my current system, and I realized I could save about $300 a year in monitoring. The installation was quick and easy, and everything so far is going great. The only small surprise I had is that you pay either quarterly or yearly with Smith Thompson instead of monthly, but that was ok because what I pay for the quarter is the same amount I was paying monthly with ADT.

My technician, had called in ahead of time to notify of his time of arrival.
He had a professional and clean appearance. He was wearing a face mask and he took time to answer my questions and explain what he was doing.
From start to finish, it was an excellent experience.

Our home is in Fort Worth, and we've been with Smith Thompson for 3 years. Our service is reliable and affordable. On a recent service visit, Sean upgraded us to 5G and walked us through the new remote control app. He did a great job on the install and was extremely helpful. We highly recommend Smith Thompson!

At first I loved Smith Thompson - good prices and friendly technicians. However, your home may not actually be successfully monitored! We recently had our alarm go off while out of town, and we never received a call to check on us and police were not sent to our house; eventually our alarm just stopped ringing. After we talked with Smith Thompson, they told us they were not receiving any signal from our house. Despite this failure, they were not willing to refund a good portion of the fees we have been paying for the past year for a system that hasn't been working for who knows how long (beyond a very nominal amount that seems like a standard offer for any complaint) . Additionally, the technician and billing department nonchalantly told me that this happens sometimes, and thus it was really not their fault. I mean, how could they, a security company, be expected to know if my home was actually being protected by its system? I was told that I should have been testing the system at least monthly to make sure it was still operating (perhaps a fair point, but not something 99.99% of people actually do). But hey, at least the brand new hardware they are now installing doesn't inexplicably fail quite as often! Be aware - you might be paying them to do nothing.

I had this company for fifteen years their service as far as monitoring is awesome however when you need service the tech they use is not only lazy but very unprofessional I was cancelled because owner took employee side when I complained about workmanship. And I pleaded with them not to cancel me, but it seems there was no compassion for the customer who became frustrated with a technician who didn't want to make the effort to update my system because of the difficulty involved I was very sad that the owner took it upon himself to judge me in such a harsh manner. Well so be it I moved to Fort Knox Security not as cheap as smith Thompson, but you get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!

After reading several reviews and hearing first hand from close friends, we decided to get Smith Thompson Home Security at our home. The install was very smooth and the technician explained the system including the app extremely well. The appointment setup process was very easy. All representatives that I spoke with during the entire process were very cordial and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Smith Thompson Home Security!

for a number of satisfied years. Of course we stayed with them when we made our recent move to downsize into a smaller home.
Gary/technician installed Smart Home in our new home. We were very impressed with Gary s professionalism, expertise in installing products and quality of work. Gary is a great asset to Smith Thompson!

Security services seem to be fine. Signed up for the pest control. The first time, I pre-paid for a year because of a promo they offered. It too worked fine. When it ran out, nobody called to schedule anything else. Eventually, I called them. So they came out for a new visit. I knew I'd need to sign up again but I was told I could sign up for a quarterly program where they'd bill quarterly and come out every three months to spray and if there were any problems in between they'd come at no charge. This was just like the yearly program although no discount but I could pay quarterly. Sounded reasonable enough so I agreed.

So.... I called in between. First time ever. Then I was told sorry, you only paid for a one-tme visit have a 30-day warranty window since you didn't pre-pay for the year and that I'd be charged for another visit before the next one.

Careful what you're promised. Apparently its B.S.

We have been using Smith Pest Control for a few years and we have no complaints. Kudos to The Techs and the Office Staff. The Techs have always been on time, Explain what they will be doing the day of treatment and Always supply an after treatment report on their Portal
There Rates are extremely competitive and quite reasonable.
The Service has been outstanding. Most Important, they stand behind their work and their control measures have always worked well for us.

I am very much pleased with the sign up process and the total installation of Smith Thompson security system, the tech was knowledgeable and has taken time to go through the system functions , I was hesitant in this COVID times to let any one in the house but this gentlemen was wearing a mask and keeps that distance and true professional . 4.6 stars is too low. Alarm at my house went off and I received a call within 15 seconds. That's wild! Zero complaints from me.

We had a break in last week in the afternoon of a working day, burglar break the back door window and forced entry from the door and triggered alarm. Smith Thompason responded quickly and the police get there fast enough that nothing was lost, The thief got away. the TV was moved from the wall to the floor. We have large single pane glass windows, so yesterday we updated the sensors to include glassbreak dectctor, hopefully they will trigger the alarm should thief tries to enter by broke the large windows without opening it.

Smith Thompson is a great home security service. I've been using them since 2017. Always great service and great prices. I have also used their pest control since 2018. Love the great service I always receive .

Don't believe the hype. Your treading in very expensive long term service fees.

The only reason this company got Poor-Fair is there was no option for Completely Sucks. To say they are a crappy alarm company is like saying Jeffrey Dahmer had some minor eating issues. Use them at your own peril.

The last two times my alarm went off, no call was made to either the police or to me. Another time, I asked them where the alarm had been set of and they couldn t tell me. Last year, they did call me and asked me what I wanted them to do. Duh!

There is a reason these guys are the cheapest in town. Can you guess why?

We used to have Protection One a few years ago but dropped it they stopped calling us when the alarm went off a long time. We just signed up with Smith Thompson last month and so far so good. The tech was prompt, professional and quick. He was able to use the old keypad which was great in saving us money. The low monthly fees for monitoring is the real deal in saving us money. We paid 3 months upfront that ADT and others normally charge a month.

Our experience was excellent with Smith Thompson Security. Our technician came in the window of time communicated and was knowledgeable about the product. He gave us tips about using the product which made the whole process smooth.

I decided to install a security system after a squirrel fell into my chimney at night and was making scary noises. I was thinking that someone is in the house came to kill me. It turned out that 2 close friends of mine were using Smith Thompson security system. I asked them whether they were good, they said "we dont know, but they are the cheapest in Houston and for 16$ a month you will get your night sleep back". I called Smith Thompson and they scheduled a technician to come and replace my old not working security system. A nice guy came and removed an ancient security system that i inherited when i bought a house. i paid around $400 and one of my friends got 1 month free as a referral bonus. Ever since that i sleep good at night. Once I forgot to turn it off and the siren started, but someone from smith Thompson called me and asked for my password. (Good thing that I memorized it and was able to tell them!).

I think Smith Thompson is a great company and I would recommend it to my friends.

I have used Smith Thompson since 1999. I moved into my current home and asked a friend who was on the Richardson Police force who he recommended and Smith Thompson was his quick answer. The service has always been great - the owner has even called me a few times to make sure I was satisfied with the work performed. My system has been updated a few times over the years to keep up with technology but the prices for the hardware have always been reasonable. I like the no contract service. I also like the fact that when I read about the latest cool tech trend in security companies, they help me see the practical side of that new trend and bring me back to reality. Smith Thompson saves me money and provides great protection for my home and family.

Brilliant service. My alarm had not been used since I moved into the house. I called Smith Thompson and an appointment was setup quickly. The engineer was very efficient, understood my needs and did not try to sell me things I did not need. The system was upgraded and reactivated with an additional wireless sensor for my garage all in about an hour. I have no experience with the larger alarm companies, but I highly recommend Smith Thompson!
