Great customer service, friendly & helpful technician, very happy with our service thus far!

I have used Smith Thompson for years now. Shoot, I used them, moved overseas, came back, and returned to Smith Thompson for their service. Actually, you would think I was working on commission for them, since I have introduced quite a few family members to use Smith Thompson as well for their home security.

Great company! They have a simple model of offering a flat monthly alarm fee and no long term contract. We switched and it was the easiest of transitions. We had a tech scheduled quickly to come out and move our system to Smith Thompson. If your looking for a new alarm company, give Smith Thompson a try.

On time and very professional installer. Our service has been nothing short of great for the past 4 years. A+ rating from my end.

Excellent company. We have been with Smith Thompson security for more than 14 years. We recently signed up for pest control services through them. They are excellent to work with - high quality services and very reasonably priced.

We canceled service. Our alarm went off twice in 2 weeks due to wind (we were told) at around 1:30AM. The second time they never even called. We were in master with door locked. After maybe 5 minutes or so we called 911. We called Smith Thompson 10-15 minutes later and they had a recording indicating they had too many alarms going off.

Also, our home was built in 2008 and builder didn't put a monitor in master. Called and asked them how much it would cost. Their IT man said he would have to drill into our foundation in master to run line to our control center in the laundry room.

We immediately checked on new system for our home.

We were amazed when we started looking for a security company how poor their systems were and the people who came out knew nothing.

We are now with a security company and the monitoring company is attached to our security system to make sure all items are working properly.

We have had Smith Thompson Security for 2 months now and we have had a great experience. The install was very quick and the installation rep was very professional and personable at the same time. The customer service (for any questions, concerns, etc.) has been great all at a very reasonable price. I would recommend this business based on my experience so far. Thanks!

The service was great.the Technician was very knowledgeable and explained everything. This has been the best experience I've ever had with a alarm company. And their price is also the best.

At $16.95 per month and no long term contract, this service can not be beat. Fortunately, I have not had to test what happens upon a breakin, but I was very satisfied with the install and response time to follow up technical questions I have had. I had no security system for years and am very happy I decided to activate Smith Thompson service.

Incredible how professional and quickly they completed the work

We had two existing landline keypads and the main panel replaced by Chad. Also, we had 3 indoor motion sensors installed. Chad arrived within the window given for the appointment and was an excellent technician. The installation was quick and professional and Chad was very patient answering any of our questions. The equipment is very easy to use and the monthly monitoring cost is reasonable. He also checked out all of our existing sensors. Chad did not pressure us at all to buy any additional parts or services. Would highly recommend Smith Thompson and Chad.

I think Smith Thompson is the best pest company out there. I use both of their services. Its my one stop shop for security and pest control.

Smith Thompson Home Security recently came out to install a wireless (not requiring use of a telephone land line) alarm system in our home. Only positive things to share about the technician who came to my home for the install. He was a little early and did call to make sure that was alright, which it was. He was professional, courteous, and very efficient. He was done in no time. He answered all my questions. The system itself is very affordable and we ve been extremely pleased with it. We would highly recommend Smith Thompson to all our family and friends!

We have been with Smith Thompson for several years now, both security and pest control. We have nothing but praise to give. If we ever have a problem they do not hesitate to come out and take care of it. Definitely recommend if you are looking.

Overall, I thought they did a great job for a fair price! The rate for monitoring is very reasonable and the equipment, although a bit higher priced than it could be wasn t leased and is guaranteed.

I really like Smith Thompson and the new upgrade with the app. But I am disappointed that I was charged for a new keypad. My original keypad was faulty in that the door wouldn t stay closed. I would think the company would stand behind their product.

Great price, great monitoring, and no contract! The technician was extremely knowledgeable, professional and helpful. We love the app that allows us to arm or disarm the alarm system from our smartphones!! Very quick response when I accidentally set the alarm off at nearly 3am.

I am a long time customer for Smith Thompson. In mid February 2021 I called tech support about a beeping coming from my control panel. They could not help me by phone and said they would send a technician out. Unfortunately this was before my wife and I had received COVID vaccinations, (my wife and I are 70 and 75)so the rep on the phone told me how to disconnect the battery in the closet control panel to stop the beeping. I told him at that time that I would call back and resume service when we were vaccinated. I called today April 13th and asked for someone to be sent out to fix the problem and was told that I owed $285 for a full year of monitoring. I objected in that it was clear that I cancelled service and indeed did not have any service from mid February to April 13. I was told it did not matter I still owed for the entire year. I offered to pay for the January to mid February period where we actually had monitoring service but that was rejected by the sales dept, Bottom line is that I have other choices and will be contacting another security service with a better customer service orientation.

I use Smith Thompson for Security & for Pest Control. They are great! Their office staff are friendly & helpful. We have same Pest Control person, Dan, come out & really like him.

We've been using Smith Thompson Home Security for a little over two years now and are very pleased with their service. You can't beat their price and quality of service together. When we mistakenly set off the alarm, they promptly call us. We also recently moved into a new home and new setup and installation was very smooth.

The service person always asks if there are any new issues. I really appreciate the fact that they sweep down any webs or nests that have been built.

Our technician texted in the morning with an approximate time slot that he would arrive, and he called when he was on his way. He was very courteous in our home as well, and explained everything well.

I have used Smith Thompson for security services since 1997 and for about 1 year for pest control. There is no better deal for alarm monitoring and the service has always been fantastic! Technicians for both services are always very professional and helpful if you have any questions. They stand by their pest control service and will come out again if issues are not resolved.

We love this company! We have used them for alarm system monitoring and pest control for 8 years now. They even did a rat extermination 4 years ago for one price and still check on that today for us. We have nothing but great things to say about them and everyone who has come to the house for services.

Upgrade went well. Only negative is technician did not remove old battery and power connector, which were found on the floor.

Never had an issue with the service. They call promptly to check when my alarm goes off and are helpful when I need to change a setting. The Pest service hasn't let me down either. They uphold their warranty.

I was with ADT/Brinks for almost 10 years. My rate went up one too many times and I decided to start shopping. A friend referred me to Smith Thompson and it sounded too good to be true -- a locally based security company that provides the same services as ADT however it never raises its rates. The technician that did the Smith Thompson install was professional and courteous. I'm so happy I've switched and when people ask me about my security company I always tell them to check out Smith Thompson.

Friendly, informative, and efficient service. I had done issues because I thought my builder had wired my house a certain way and found out that wasn t true. They helped me problem solve and come up with an alternative to still meet my needs and it didn t cost a fortune!

I have used S-T for both my alarm and pest control. Tommy is always professional and polite when he comes to perform pest contact. I have had great service with S-T!

Not only are their prices only a fraction of the cost of other security systems (and they don't charge you extra for the Uplink system to use cell phone towers), but I was most impressed with their Tech Support department. I called in with a problem with my system and they were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.

After hour service sucks. No tech service is available when the system doesn't work. I installed Smith and in about 4 weeks it didn't work. When I called, no tech service was available.

I am shocked to see owner response with completely false information. My suggestion to user is never ever believe owner response in review. My recommendation to Smith is improve your customer service and you can call me to resolve the issues instead of providing false information. I am still Smith user and certainly I won t recommend others until they improve customer service.

The service tech sprayed the perimeter of the house and interior. Also, he provided some tips on how to combat pests. I will definitely use them again.

Wanted a reliable company that could handle the fire ant problem that had suddenly come up on our lawn. Smith Thompson pest control team was extremely responsive and were able to schedule us at very short notice. The person who came over was also very efficient, but at the same time made sure to answer all our questions.

I was a customer in Dallas and jumped on it when they finally offered service in Austin. All-wireless alarms, excellent prices, great service, professional installers, and best of all, no contracts. They respond right away too if your alarm goes off - I know :P.

Compared to the usurious garbage that ADT and Protection One foist on you, the hapless consumer, Smith Thompson is a breath of fresh air. No 3-year contracts (or indeed, any contracts), reasonable prices for equipment that you own instead of 'lease', and low prices for high quality professional service. I am a fan.

I knew when I made the switch to Smith Thompson security that, based on several friend's recommendations, I would receive superior service. I put that to the test this week. Mid-week my main panel started acting up. I called for a technician and he patiently walked me through what he could over the phone. We determined I needed a service call. I had a 3-5 time slot today. Mike called me just around 3 to say he was on his way. He was here by 3:15. He was professional, personal, and really knew his stuff! He diagnosed the problem almost before he came in the house, based on what he was seeing on his computer. I think he was here for maybe 15-20 minutes, and that's because he did a thorough check of the entire system just to be safe. I am thrilled with this service appointment from start to finish. On time, fast work, pleasant and knowledgeable personnel. My decision to switch to Smith Thompson has certainly been affirmed!

I am a very satisfied customer so far. From the beginning when the technician came to install it the first time, I can see that he is very knowledgeable and professional. We had equipments from a different provider used by the previous home owner, but they were not marked and organized at all. He had to find out which cable was connected to which access. He took the time to maximize the utilization of the existing equipments and provided reasonable suggestions, not forcing me to buy more. After installed, we had 2 occasions of false alarm. From there, I can see the speedy response of the team to alert us and the professionalism in handling the situations. Highly recommended!

We switched from ADT to Smith Thompson last month and we are glad we did. The technician who came for installation was good and explained the system thoroughly. I am also glad that there is no "waiting time" before the monitoring team is notified in case of an alarm. Our alarm accidentally went off once and I got a "local" call within seconds. We recently moved into a new house and had heard positive things about Smith - Thompson Security from our new neighbors. I contacted Smith - Thompson via phone and spoke with a very nice representative who gathered our info and had a tech out to setup the system within a couple of days. The tech was very professional and explained the system in detail. We love the company and are really happy with the pricing and the fact that there is no long-term contract. I have had this company for 16 years at two homes. Great prices and great techs and office staff. It seems that no matter how good a company is, some people gripe for no reason whatsoever. Those who complain are those who have problems with any and everything. This my friends is the standard of the alarm industry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the price of monitoring service the most: $16.95/month. Some other company is a few bucks lower but I'm not sure how their equipment and monitoring service work. The technician was very helpful and knows his trade, and he answered all my questions cheerfully. He was quick too. We have had 2 false alarms so far and each time the 'check call' came in within 1 minute of the going-off alarm. The old company we used did not even call in once or twice after the false alarm going off, so, so far Smith Thompson performed and delivered as they promised. I'm happy with this company's service very much.

My husband and I have just moved into our new home with a security system already in place. We knew we wanted it to be monitored and shopped the market a bit. We decided to go with Smith Thompson because their price was half of the competitors and we weren't signing a contract! They were easy to schedule with and were able to use everything from our existing system!

Chad arrived on-time and replaced our two old keypads, master controller box and backup battery at no charge. He installed a new backdoor sensor also. Chad forgot to show me how to input a new master code and alarm code via the keypad, but Tech Support walked me through the process by phone. Easy!

Colton calls and gives me an estimated time of arrival and is always on time. He takes time to listen to any issues I may have, never discounts what I say and treats accordingly. The service I received from Smith Thompson has always been exceptional, but even more so during the COVID pandemic. Colton always wears his mask and covers his feet when he enters my house. I could not be more supportive of Smith Thompson.

We chose to have Smith Thompson as our security provider for our new home. I had to reschedule our initial installation date due to scheduling conflicts on our part, but the staff accommodated our request.

Lorenzo called yesterday to let me know he was 30 minutes away and arrived very close to the beginning of the time-frame I had been given for the work to begin.

Lorenzo came in and made sure I was aware of everything that he was going to do and that it matched what we had requested to be completed.

The work was done in a timely and efficient manner and with absolutely no disruption to me being able to continue with my personal work responsibilities.

When everything was done, Lorenzo walked me thru the account setup, downloading the app on my phone, and providing a tutorial on how to use the newly installed touch screen system.

I would 110% recommend Smith Thompson as your security provider. Paid for service for a year at the time of installation and received one month of monitoring for no cost.

Where other alarm companies will charge an arm and a leg for the most basic of security systems, Smith Thompson offers state-of-the-art home security systems at the most competitive price in the entire market. After already having annihilated the competition in value and pricing, they will raise you in their superior customer service department and technical support (Adam s the best!) and professional installation technicians (Mike is your guy!), and win the pot amongst every other company or service.
Smith Thompson has professional installation down to an art form. Mike Aman did such an amazing job updating my system and giving me a tutorial on how to work my new secure home that I feel like a pro, and I ve only had it for less than a week!
If you want a security system that will protect your home and also make your neighbors say, Wow, where d you get that? then Smith Thompson has what you need, and more than anyone could ask for. To be perfectly transparent, I am not the easiest to please, but the first to say how great this company is and the people that work for this company as well.

He explained how the system worked, and made sure I understood everything I needed to know. He was great about answering questions. After the install, we've had the alarm go off a couple times and the company is great, they call me right away to check in and make sure everything is okay, even in the short exchanges we have, they are very nice and polite.
