A wonderfully kind, and knowledgeable group of professionals. I went in very down about my health, but left with a wealth of knowledge about the steps to take control of my health.

I love Dr. Eugene! He has such a great bedside manner. I always feel cared about and that my concerns are heard and understood. I would highly recommend this medical practice.

A Connecticut transplant that is super picky about doctors. Before moving to NC, it took me a year of research and reading reviews to finally decide on a practice. That practice was Matthews Internal Medicine and that doctor is Dr. Eugene Sangmuah. This power couple, a husband and wife team, created an awesome environment that welcomes you and relaxes you, from the moment you walk in. The entire staff is exceptional! The staff treats you with genuine care and concern. Can t say enough great things about them.

With the days of private practice disappearing and the move to impersonal network healthcare practices more prevalent, Dr. Eliza is a breath of fresh air and a return to a time when your doctor knew you personally. Dr. Eliza is caring and warm and actually works WITH the patient to ensure the best outcome. At MIM, you feel like a person, not an insurance card. I love that my doctor knows me, knows my health story, and is personally invested in my best care.

Always a Pleasant experience. Very clean and neat office and friendly and happy personal. Dr is alway glad to see you or makes you feel she is Can t say anything bad about this place even look forward to a Dr visit.

I had to leave the practice a couple years ago due to losing my job and insurance issues. I tried to call back to finally be able to return to the practice. I was told once you leave you can t come back . Really??? This was out of my control. So much for living up to their putting patients first motto. Situations happen in life that are not necessarily in our control. I could not afford to continue to go there when I was without a job. Disgusting they can not understand patient s situations. I guess the practice has changed since I used to go there so I m glad I found out now they no longer seek to understand their patients as people. Sad.

Friendly staff and the Doctor takes the time to know you personally, listen and give you great feed back and care.

I have been so happy with this practice. I found the nursing staff and Dr. Eliza to display such kindness and patient-centered care.... a rare find today! I liked her so much, that I actually started bringing my mom up here from Charleston for medical care with Dr. Eliza. My mom has chronic health issues that other providers have not listened to, or offered any solutions. When we left the appointment, my mom said "she was so kind to me and really thorough". Thank you so much!

Dr. Eliza is wonderful. I have referred 4 patients to her in the last year. They all agree that she is a fantastic doctor, extremely knowledgeable and very caring.

Dr. Sangmuah is personable and professional. Both he and the staff are friendly with service that will have you leave with a smile.

Highly recommend this practice! It's easy to get office staff on the phone to make an appointment, they are super friendly, you actually get seen right at your appointment time (which is unheard of), the office is nice and clean and most importantly - Dr. Eliza is the best, so many levels above other doctors I've seen. She listens carefully, she's thorough, and she takes her time to ask plenty of questions to assess the situation. Super knowledgeable. Never rushed like it is when you go to one of the big systems. She sends me messages on the portal to check in with me, she answers questions quickly if you send her a private message, and she even called me on the phone once to check up on me to ask if I was feeling better. AND if further tests are needed she has so much right there in her office so no being referred to imaging or a lab at another appointment. Highly recommend!!

My son had his first appointment as an adult here for his college physical and he came by himself. I was extremely nervous but the staff was amazing and helped and guided him and I though that. From getting a very short notice new patient visit set up and all his records sent and ins etc. The best dr and I am currently switching to them unfortunately my daughter is too young still.

Office is usually clean. Dr Eugene Samurah cares a lot about his patients health. I would recommend this doctor and office to anyone looking for a good doctors office.

I had a very bad experience they were really judgmental and always had a bad atmosphere when I walked in . I don t know if it was because I was young but I don t think they should be bias in how they treat people . Just so unprofessional when it came to actually caring

I m so happy that I switched to Dr. Sangmuah s practice! I ve been with another doctor for several years, and the practice is so large that I never see her. I want to build a relationship with my doctor so the doctor knows me and is familiar with my medical history. Today I experienced a doctor who talked with me rather than read my chart. I came in to the office for an ear infection and received amazing care from Candy, one of the nurses. She made sure that I walked out of there feeling a lot better. Dr. Eliza is the best. She always works me in when I have a medical problem and spends as much time as needed. She has been my primary care doctor for 3+ years and I always feel safe and secure with her guidance.

Both Dr. Eugene and Dr. Eliza are great! They take the time to listen to you and the whole staff is quick to respond when you call or leave a message. Everyone is friendly and our family would recommend them to anyone.

Now this is what going to the Dr should be like! Very courteous staff who welcomed me with open arms as a new Patient, Dr. Eugene spent a tremendous amount of time with me to insure thorough and accurate understanding of my needs and all results from labs back same day or before 6 AM next day! I probably shouldn't say all this as we need this to continue to be a "best kept secret", but they deserve the praise!

I've been coming to matthew's internal medicine for a few years and i am very pleased. The doctors are very personable and treat you like family. I highly recommend you check them out!

Dr. Eugene has been very respectful and accommodating to my 90+ parents who I moved to this area from Greensboro. We had no idea what doctor to choose. Matthews Internal Medicine is one that has a PA that visits the facility my parents reside. Dr. Eugene is accessible, willing to listen and give input/suggestions. He is very knowledgeable and patient.
The staff is also amazing - friendly and helpful; Dr. Eugene's nurse has been SO helpful as I help navigate these last years of my parents lives. At first there was an adjustment period and "getting to know" their system, but with conversation and explanation, we have a good working relationship for the best care to my parents!

As I registered nurse, this practice has the most thorough and kind physicians and staff. Dr. Eliza Sangmuah is absolutely wonderful. She is thorough and genuinely cares. The staff is Fantastic as well. Everyone, from the person that signs you in, to the assistant drawing your blood for labs, is incredibly kind and caring.

Great Professional Atmosphere , I highly recommend this doctors office!

I was seen at my actual appointment time, which is unheard of. The staff was very friendly and Dr. Eliza Sangmuah took her time in learning about my health and asking questions. Including vaccinations and blood work, I was in and out in under an hour. Everyone was professional and I received excellent care.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Eugene and his entire staff!! I moved almost 80 miles away 6 years ago and I still choose Matthews Internal Medicine as my primary care physicians.

i have been a patient for doctor Eugene for almost 7 years now , an excellent physician , nothing to complain about he's care , but recently the staff has change , I feel like a number again , nurse Candy , can't be reach be phone no either to get the medicines a refill even whit a message leave, had been since then for a long time ,.. miss shakitta a nurse not longer in there was very kind and caring ., I would recommend the staff get some training for custumer service starting with the office manager, I know her since from the beginning, looks overwhelmed every time I have an appointment , I don't take personal her attitude sometimes , has to be hard to work whit people that go there for relief to illness.,, That been said , I won't change Doctor Eugene for nothing , exepcional human being as well a physician.

Dr. Eliza is very personable, professional, and thorough. She takes the time to ask questions about your physical and mental health, and just life in general. She remembers details from prior visits, and she calls personally to share test results, even when it s just to say everything is normal. The support staff there is also great. The vibe of the entire office is friendly and welcoming.

Dr Eugene Sangmuah and Dr Eliza Sangmuah are the best doctors we have ever seen. My whole family goes there and they take wonderful care of all us. I love this office. Dr. Eliza is great. She is very personable, compassionate, and trustworthy. I have been going to her for over 2 years now. It is very easy to get an appointment and there is barely ever any wait time after arrival. It is also nice to be able to check your results on the patient portal. She also responds to messages that you leave her through the portal. I would definitely recommend!

My visit was a delightful one. The office staff was very welcoming and professional. Dr. Eliza Sangmuah was personable, professional, very knowledgeable and thorough, as well as easy to talk to. It was a good referral from my "little sister/friend", Karen Worthen!! I look forward to establishing a long-term doctor/patient relationship to the benefit of my health and my Mom's.

I wanted to like this place, everyone was very nice. When I had my blood drawn, it left massive bruising all over my arm that I've never seen before. And the next week, I found out they had lost my blood sample and asked me to have it done again for my check up to be completed and for them to not charge me.

I had to complain about that so there would be no charges and that I really didn't want to redo that. My insurance would only cover a check up and if I hadn't had the blood draw, they would have had to charge me. It was my first time there and it completely lost my trust. You can't work with a health provider if you can't trust them.

Dr. Eliza and her staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They care about there patients well being. Dr. Eliza listens and really takes the time to understand what your problem is to make sure she treats you properly.

My appointment with Dr. Sangmauh was not rushed at all. He took time to ask questions and to answer mine. He was very personable. I have only seen him once but my sister and my niece have been patients for a while and he came very highly recommended from them. I wanted to find a good doctor in Matthews having moved from Columbia, SC and I believe I have.

The doctors and staff are top notch. I highly recommend this practice.

UPDATE: I moved my kiddos to Matthews Internal Medicine now that they are too old for their pediatrician. The staff took great care of them! Courteous, super efficient, and friendly. I have had no office who has done a better job than Matthews Internal Medicine in communicating with me. EXCELLENT! I highly recommend!

As a new patient, I was more than pleased with the high level of service. The entire practice -- every one there -- was courteous and efficient. I was able to quickly get an appointment and, once I arrived, I did not have to wait long.... refreshing!

I was even more pleased with the level of care given by Dr. (Eugene) Sangmuah. He listened (that's important!) to my concerns and provided help accordingly. The office was able to provide an Xray on-site (very helpful and appreciated). Dr. Sangmuah called soon after the appt. with recommendations. I will not only be back, but my entire family will follow me there. Excellent!!

I am not one to go to the doctors office that often, I will say that after switching to here I left with the sense that the doctor actually cared about my concerns instead of just waving them off. Candy is the best nurse over there, glad she came over to y'all.

I have never seen a good doctor or practice. Quit battling Atrium and Novant that really just look at you as a number. This is the best practice in NC by far!!!
