Ernie was one of the installers of my new furnace from Shavitz. Ernie did a great job, He introduced himself immediately, was very neat, worked efficiently and kept to his schedule. well, I have been a LOYAL customer of Schavitz for 10 years. I have had a prepaid maintenence plan for all of them. I have allowed this company into my home for a decade to service and maintain my funace and AC during that time without question. I have really felt like service was honest and fair and am willing to pay a premium for good customer service. There WAS a trust to do an honest, quality and respectful job without question. That leads up to this latest visit by them for my annual AC maintenence this week. Service rep was on time, He Serviced the AC explaining it was an older unit nearly 15years old...I told him I had estimates last year and am looking to replace it this year. I actually got estimate from Schavitz last year. He explained to me that the coolant had leaked from the unit and it would cost $800 to recharge with approx 5lbs of coolant. I explained that is ok. I am replacing the unit this year and have a friend that will charge the coolant for me to make the unit operational until the replacement. He rolled his eye with a "whatever". He then went to my basement for check of furnace. When finished he packed his things and stated that since Schavitz charges "premium" prices for service and installation is probably isnt worth my time for him to set up and appt for an estimate for a new AC unit. Then said it probably isnt worth setting up a new maintenence plan for next year as my AC doesnt work. He rejected a $300 maintenence plan that had credit card in hand to pay for. I know and understand the pricing of the company and as it stands for the last DECADE i have paid those premiums with the trust that the work and service is quality....sigh...upon his departure I made my calls for other estimates as this rep apparently determined that I wasnt able to "afford" thier service. The next day BOTH estimators showed me that this kid from Schavitz had disabled my AC unit, and had damaged the drain tube from my furnace humidifier rendering it unfunctional and rather than repair it he unplugged the unit. One said at least he was nice enough to unplug it as if it had still been operational it could have caused real damage. A decade of trust.....wow. later that day I was contacted by a sales rep from Schavitz to "set up a time for an AC estimate....huh?? I explained all of the above to him...with nothing to say other than I am sure it wasnt intentional....He INTENTIONALLY disabled my AC without a mention to me the homeowner. Then he Damaged my humidifier possibly not intentionally...BUT intentionally unplugged the unit and intentionally made not attempt to repair, and intentionally did not tell me of the issue. A decade of Trust.... The sales rep stated to me"what can we do to make this right". thats a cop out. dont tell me that...you are now the agent of the company and need to make an EFFORT to make this right. Take initiative to a customer that has been faithful for a decade. I told the rep to collect his thoughts, talk to his maintence boy that came to my home, read his notes then decide what HE feels might make this right. I am still waiting. It is truely distressing that there is no concern for loyalty, substandard work and a lack of integrity and customer service. I am sorry to see that is where you now stand as a company. Mr Bronson Schavitz replies spends more time justifying misconduct and poor service. To be told an appt for an estimate will not be done because schavitz as a company charges premium prices is unprofessional and just bad business. I was hoping at least for integrity honesty and communication from the managing staff...not excuses, rationalizations and argument. I guess that is what happens when entitled children inherit a business and didn't really have to work for what they have. Will never recommend again.

Cornelius performed an annual check of our boiler and our furnace. I've tried several other companies for this type of work, and so far Shavitz is my favorite. I like to watch work being done, so I can learn, and Cornelius let me watch and patiently explained everything to me. The checks were more thorough than I had witnessed in the past. I had one problem with the boiler relief valve that I explained, and we walked through the process to determine that the expansion tank was completely full of water. Letting me watch and answering all of my questions with clear explanations gave me confidence in Cornelius' competency and in Shavitz in general.
Service Specialist Joe Akelian was very helpful and upfront about how to solve the problem. Still spent more that I wanted to, (when is HVAC ever cheap) but at least I felt better about making the right choice.
Shavitz is top notch. I have had to work with other providers, namely Simons Heating and Air, and Shavitz puts them to shame. Shavitz actually knows about systems and provides amazing customer service. Now this is the way to value your customers, provide great service and most importantly knowing your product and providing information. Others should take note and learn from Shavitz or just close up shop! Thank you.

Dave came out today to do regular service call inspected equipment communicated with me before and after the job was done, he took the time to explain his findings recommended corrective courses of action and preventative maintenance and was clearly doing this in my best interest as a customer.

All I can say is I wish you did electrical work Plumbing work and a variety of other things, because working with you as a HVAC service company from a customer point of view has been absolutely second to none.

Shavitz techs are always friendly and professional. I always feel confident in their services once completed. They sent Cedrick out to inspect and clean our AC unit as part of the maintenance package we purchased last fall. He did a good thorough job and everything is running great. He explained some options to us for upgrades and system replacements and gave me some tips to keep things running well until we get a new unit. Shavitz is great and I recommend them to everyone.
Shavitz was awesome - lousy rainy weather so they kept me informed with regular calls on the appointment status (had to work outside on compressor). Cornelius M., service technician, is a great guy. Did not push equipment, despite my unit being from 1994. Explained everything, was fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and personable. These are people you can trust, and I've had more than few that you can't! If you need something fixed or regular maintenance, my highest recommendation.

I have contracted with Shavitz Heating and AC for the last several years to assist with yearly maintenance on my AC and Furnace. Rich Davis was assigned to work on my furnace and he was knowledgeable, through and patient to explain potential issues to watch out for; I continue to recommend Shavitz for your heating and ac needs.

Craig and Maurice have all prior service records which makes maintenance fast and efficient. Issues which may become a problem are put on a watch-list. One of my HVAC units broke in my condo, heading into the historic low temps...very unfortunate timing. Service by Shavitz was everything I was hoping for. My calls were answered in a timely manner (and trust me there were MANY and they never lost their patience with me), the service team was transparent with pricing and the difference between regular and overtime hours and scheduled my service quickly, and the technicians were knowledgable, efficient, and communicative. Very big thanks to Desiree, Brandon, Craig, Ramiro, and the first tech I spoke with on Saturday (I m SO sorry your name escapes me) - was a very pleasant experience throughout. Would strongly recommend Shavitz.

Cornelius was great and very professional. We had a leak in AC unit on our roof and needed to replace all of our coolant. Cornelius was able to come before his scheduled time which worked out so much better and was able to refill our coolant. He also explained that our unit was old and may need replacing, but was not pushy about trying to get it done right away and force us into something. While he was filling our unit he noticed what he thought could be part of the leak and replaced a part he thought could be part of the issue. Service was great and we would recommend them to anyone.
I had a great experience. Krzysztof went above and beyond. In addition to repairing my system, he made sure my summer maintenance check was taken care of and even called and booked my Fall check!
I've been using Shavitz for my central A/C for several years now. The techs are always prompt and professional, and they take the time to answer questions. My aging compressor (20 years old), is still hanging in there. The techs have at times recommended small changes - i.e., installing a hard start kit - to keep it running well. Although I ask about the age/condition of the unit, and they'll tell me they can sell me a new one any time, no one is pressing me to do it yet. I've taken 3-years service contracts, so the basic annual servicing is done without additional charge unless there are parts. Very satisfied!

I needed a new central air system installed; mine was almost 30 years old. I had an excellent appointment with Rich D., who explained everything very clearly.
We went over in detail the kind of system I would need, and the choices I would have. Rich explained that they would probably not be the lowest quote, which was true. But the other appointments I had left a completely different impression--- like it was a simple matter to install a 3 ton central air conditioning system and get it right. Very few details. I work with facilities for a living, so I decided to protect my investment in my house and go with this company that has such a good reputation and explained everything I needed to know.
The installers were scheduled a few days later; in the meantime, I worried about the price...
The crew arrived on time on the appointed day and started working. Right away I started to get a feel for the size of the job; there was point where there were four Shavitz vans in front of my house. The two installers who took the lead, Mirek and Mamo (sp?), were just outstanding. I felt like I had hit the jackpot with highly trained and experienced technicians, rather than someone just hired for the job. I've worked with enough facilities people to know when I'm dealing with master technicians, and that's exactly what I got with this installation. They took the time to level the condenser base, and to install the wires, pipes, conduit, and pump required for my system. It was an all-day job.
There are certain times when it makes sense to pay for premium service; installing your central air is one of them. There's metalwork, electrical work, plumbing, as well as HVAC knowledge at play; there's just not a lot of people who have the whole range of skills like this. You want people who have been doing it a long time, who are certified, and who aren't going to set you up with an expensive system, poorly installed, that isn't going to run efficiently or last very long.
By the end of the day, I was glad I made the decision to go with Shavitz because the whole thing looks like it was done right, like it's going to last, and I also feel like there's a family business standing behind it if I need help in the future. The peace of mind is worth it; you really do get what you pay for in a thing like this.
Also, I understand how it works because they explained it all.
In short, I highly recommend this company. I feel like I made a good choice, and that I have an installation that won't have to be corrected by someone else in the future.

Excellent service. Scheduling was easy and convenient. Got the perfect number of reminder calls. Cornelius was very helpful and polite in home. He went the extra mile to suggest how to better maintain the machine and made some welcome adjustments to the AC to help it work better.
It's a long story, but Branden H. from Shavitz was excellent and saved me a lot of money. He identified and sealed a refrigerant leak which saved me from having to replace the AC unit which was my only option according to the first 3 companies I contacted. Branden even gave me the ammo I needed to get my money back from another company who previously overcharged me for a refrigerant refill (they charged me for 6lb and the unit only holds 3lb). Branden was exceptionally courteous, professional, and stayed late to complete the work as quickly as possible. I will definitely call Shavitz next time and so should you.
Do not use Oasis or A-A Mechanical -- both companies tried to convince me that my only option was to spend ~$10,000 to replace my rooftop unit. With Shavitz, the repair only cost me $1,000 and it works better than it did when I purchased the home.

Shavitz installed a new boiler in my home. The installation was completed in a very professional manner. Not only do I feel that I got a very knowledgeable crew that did a very clean install, but the workers were polite and very professional and attentive to all my questions and concern. Four months after having our furnace replaced, we're still having issues with it and keep getting incorrect or confusing information from the techs that visit. They tried and failed to replace the thermostat twice. The latest idea is that the furnace is overheating, which is something I think they should have figured out when doing the installation. The owner gets involved and it seems like things are going to get better, but then another tech shows up with more bad news. Decided it's been long enough to leave a review, so here it is.

Krzysztof to my good fortune came to our home to do A/C work. He gave our A/C a good inspection and showed my on his tablet what was good and what neede work. He took 16 photos to show me. I told him to do the work. While it took 4 hours to complete he assured me that my A/C was humming! He has great personality; showed up at my door at 8am sharp.
