As a college student finding an apartment can be q...

As a college student finding an apartment can be quite stressful. In the chaos to find an apartment for the Fall/Winter semester with a friend I found what seemed to be the perfect apartment, that had been left completely vacant just weeks before. I called to make sure it was still available and was able to look at it. The guy Porter who showed it to me said no one had applied yet. I quickly applied and payed the $30 fee but because I was under a time crunch I called a few times to see what had happened to my application. stressful! Finally I got an email saying the apartment had already been rented out and my money would be refunded. okay whatever, I'd keep looking! Only my money never got refunded, at least not for a few weeks! After finally expressing my frustrations, Rachel one of the ladies in the office was super nice and even helped me by offering to double check to see if my money had in fact been refunded. She got in contact with me quickly, and when I double checked to confirm with my bank, it had! So i'd say Great customer service that patiently deals with concerns, but long waiting periods if you ever want to try and rent from them.

RESE manages several of our rental properties and since Scott Sleater took over as our property manager we have been thrilled at the quality of service we have received. Scott has made all the difference in our experience. He is very responsive and on top of all of management needs and issues. Thanks to Scott and RESE for the service we receive.

Horrible customer service. They never get back to you. In only o e year I had like ten different property managers how had no idea of what was going on. At the end of me rent contract, they came to inspect the property and told me everything looked . It has been iver 45 days now and I had not received my security deposit back. All they say is that the company that was going to clean the carped did no go yet. So I have to wait.
Please, be smart, dont get yourselfe in trouble by taking them your business.

constant changes in managers, poor handling of renters' account ledgers. In the 2 years I've lived here I've had several different managers, none of whom seem to know what's going on, bills that get added multiple times to my ledger (which I've already paid), emails go unanswered, I'm not even sure who to talk to any more to get things sorted out. Every month it's something new they've messed up and I have to fix the billing. I also receive bills for maintenance I didn't request. I've scoured my lease agreement and there's nothing about them being able to charge me for unspecified "maintenance" or "repairs" I didn't request, but they do it anyway without explanation. They are really intrusive and rude.

When I move I'm going to avoid anyone who goes with RESE. Property owners - PLEASE use another management company! These people are terrible! I love this house but I hate the management!

I wish it were possible to comment on other people's reviews. I feel like I've had similar experiences and would not be surprised if many of the same things end up happening to me.

So i was not evicted for non payment of rent. As a matter of fact i sold my remaining lease after i purchased a home. Thats slander and better fact check that and supply proof. Look rese property management was an extremely difficult company to get ahold of we would call for multiple days and weeks and get no response. That is why i gave a one star rating. But to lie about an eviction for unpaid rent is completely absurd and i will find the email and documents to upload that proves the dishonesty and deception on your behalf to hopefully turn away any future customers you may get going forward

I AM LIVING I AN APARTMENT WITH NO AC AND NO SHOWER FOR 2 WEEKS. RESE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LLC DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THE PROPERTY THEY MANAGE AND OFTEN ASK YOU TO DO THE REPAIR. THEY USE CHEAP HANDY MAN FROM THE STREET WITH NO CREDIBILITY WHATSOEVER. OWNERS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM RESE AND FIND OUT REAL PROPERTY MANAGERS.

this is honestly the worst management company ever. i have been renting for them for a year and it's a shitshow. i have worked with at least 5 different people over my time here because apparently thay can't retain employees. i have now called 5 times and sent 5 emails regarding my security deposit that was supposed to be returned BY LAW on the 3st of the month. I have called and emailed and incessantly and will continue to do so but no one is competent enough to answer the phone or call me back. The customer service is so pathetic it's mind boggling that they even have a business.
**update**

Took them to small claims court over a deposit they returned late AND without itemized explanation of charges and won. My advice? take them to court. take pictures. document. keep everything. Demand the day the deposit is due, that they return it. Know the state statute so you can file the proper paperwork. If they dont give you ITEMIZED deductions from your deposit in 30 days take them to court. I took them because they have done this to countless people, as you will see below, and it's not ok. Know your rights as a tenant.

This company is the worse, as a property owner had really bad experience with this company managing my property and really lack of customer service. The only thing they did is place tenants and after that basically I manage my property with things such as maintenance as their excuse was that they were always busy. They were not too busy to collect the monthly fee though or not too busy to offer their services to sale my house. The guy Tony Du Preez and Kyle are a joke to be honest they hand you off to people that don t know anything about customer service. As a retire military and current Gov employee the service is below 0. They will tell you that they are one of the best companies to manage your property but in reality they just collect the monthly fee and if something is needed such as a service call they are too busy. Be careful on choosing this company to manage your property.

My husband and I rented from them a few years back. They were extremely difficult to get a hold of and communicate with.
My husband left a 1 star review YEARS ago and recently received a reply saying w"shouldn't take our anger out on them because we were evicted for non-payment."
We legally sold our lease and even received our deposit back. I have all the correlation in emails. Our loan processor even called Reese to verify we were responsible tenants as this was part of the home buying process.
Whomever is responding to Reese Property's reviews is only making them look worse. So unprofessional, but also helping in proving their terrible at communication.
Guys, save yourself the trouble and rent through a company who is organized, honest, and professional.

If you decide to enter into a rental agreement wit...

If you decide to enter into a rental agreement with Rese Property Management I would highly recommend that before you move anything in that you do a thorough walk through and take pictures of everything .... and then do the exact same thing when your rental agreement is up and you are walking out the door for the final time. That was something that I should have done, but at the time I didn't even think about it. I made sure that I left our rental home spotless.I took the time off work and cleaned the entire home. I washed windows, blinds, walls, baseboards. I moved the fridge and stove and thoroughly cleaned everything.I vacummed inside all the window tracks, I made sure that everything was spotless so that I would get me cleaning deposit back. Even though the home was spotless I still got charged $139.00 dollars for "light cleaning" .... Really !!! there was nothing left to clean. I also got charged $475.75 for advanced maintance and that was to repair the toilet that broke while I was cleaning and also a towel bar needed to be replaced in the bathroom . my son had a shelf in his bedroom so the 3 screw holes needed repair and a screen needed to be replaced. I had bought the towel bar and left it in the bathroom to be installed, and the screen was missing when I moved in, but I got to pay for that anyway since it wasn't noted in my paperwork that it was missing.Honestly I think that the charges are outrageous and that I should have received a detailed list of exactly what I paid for and the cost for each item . Out of my $1400.00 deposit, I got a whopping $785.25 refunded back to me. Also, don't count on getting your deposit back in a timely manner.... they have 30 days to get it back to you and believe me, they will take the entire 30 days. Think twice before you rent from Rese...and if you do don't bother cleaning because you will get charged anyway.

We used another property management service referred to us by family and was on the high end as far as cost goes. We had a horrible experience with them. Rese was and has been the complete opposite. They've been professional, helpful and responsive from the beginning and we feel like we are finally in good hands. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

These folks did amazing work and I could not be more grateful. My particular case was pretty work intensive as I was rehabing a duplex with tenants.

It was complicated, it was messy but they made my life much easier by helping me locate the right vendors at the best prices, along with new tenants. I can t imagine navigating this project without them.

They continue to monitor my property month after month and have done an excellent job thus far. I ve worked with them for 2 years now and I plan to work with them for as long as I have my property.

RESE property management is great to work with when it comes to upkeep of the units and maintenance. The follow-up I receive from their front office staff or my property manager Broca is always great and the their customer service is awesome whenever they call to make sure that issues were resolved. Their accounting personnel though is a different story and completely unorganized, extremely rude and unwilling to work with the tenants on issues. Both my neighbors and I experienced this horrible service from Gail.. I highly recommend asking to work with someone else if she responds to your email!

Renter for 2 years and very poor experience. Only staying in the property because of location and price. Rese is slowly improving their customer service. Early experiences involved the property manager sending me emails literally calling me an "immature liar" just because I complained about a problem with their website.
Bottom line, they don't care about the people actually renting the property because the property owners are their actual clients. But of course, Rese won't let you contact the property owners directly so you are stuck dealing with the middle man.

This company is terrible. We went the last two months of living there without a working fridge. When we moved out we cleaned it top to bottom and they still charged us for cleaning. They took our whole deposit of $1250, they gave us $40 dollars back. Scott our manager was a total jerk. He never communicates and when he does he s very rude.

As a property owner, Rese was 3 years of headaches...

As a property owner, Rese was 3 years of headaches. We used them to manage our property for 3 years via Ivory Homes Smart Move Advantage program. They do not communicate with both tenants and property owners. They take months to respond to tenant issues, for example a broken microwave. Then, the handyman they wanted to us to replace it wanted to overcharge us. The microwave cost $225, Install labor was $95. They wanted to charge $450. I wonder where the extra cost came from? Rese did not seem to care to check on the property after it was rented. We had a no pet clause, we stopped by to check on the property and discovered the tenant had multiple dogs (and had lived there for 9 months). What ever happened to property inspections? Broken sprinklers and a dead lawn, and not a word from them about it. Final interaction was to receive the tenant deposit. Tenant was late paying a couple times and fees were deducted from the deposit, which was never, ever communicated to me. Instead of receiving the full deposit amount I was expecting, it was quite less. Let me reiterate, extremely bad communication, they promised to provide monthly updates, and then not a call or even an email for multiple months. Multiple issues were identified, changes and fixes promised, but they never did anything to address nor take action on any issues raised. To put it another way, other than providing a costly direct deposit service, they did not do their job, which as I saw it was to manage the property for me so I won't have to worry about it. I had nothing but worry and having to be involved multiple times, just to get them to do the job we were paying them to do. Never again.

As property management places go, these guys do fine. I'll be glad not to be working with them anymore, though.

*edited to add* I have worked with many property management companies (as the renter) and by them I mean property management companies in general. Like I said, these guys do fine. I did like the face to face contact I had with them, it was just hard to get any maintenance requests pushed through and when we moved out the process seemed more onerous than it needed to be.

We applied to rent a home in Cottonwood Heights. We were second in line and the home went to the first request. Understandable; however, what is unacceptable is the fact that I have left 3 messages, my husband 1 message over the last week and NO ONE will return our calls. We were interested in another property. We paid the application fees of $50 per person for a total of $100 for consideration of the Cottonwood Heights property and now feel RIPPED OFF by your lack of professionalism responding us as potential clients. I am extremely disappointed in your company. (Per our bank our credit rating is over 800!!) I will absolutely NOT RECOMMEND you to anyone.

I m a current tenant of this agency, and I am super disappointed at this point. 1. Plumbing system is a problem it gets clogged most of the time, was reported nothing was done . 2. House Carpet is a mess, looks like they could never finish it and rented the house but now it is unraveling out of every corner of the house. 3. Air conditioner venters, besides the fact that conducts holes are super big, The venters caps were never stick to the floor and are useless because they don t even work, was reported nothing was done . 4. You can find all type of bugs coming out of the air conducts, anything from spiders up to centipedes, was reported nothing was done . 5. Somehow water has liquid twice from outside into one of the room leaving a really bad smell in the carpet for days and ruining the furnitures, reported nothing was done . 6. Stove, only two burners of the stove have worked since I moved in, reported nothing was done . Expecting to move out ASAP.

Absolutely terrible to work with! We tried using Rese to rent our house in Orem. From the start, the people we worked with didn t seem to know what they were doing. Then we never knew who to contact cause Rese employees were either leaving or being fired. Then multiple renters came and left our house without us knowing and caused thousands of dollars in damages. Had to completely rip out all the carpets in the house and redo a bathroom plus multiple other things. Rese wouldn t get back to me and then when I wanted to pursue the renters in small claims, Rese magically didn t have any contracts or paperwork with them.... my opinion is not to touch Rese with a 10 foot pole. For us, they were a nightmare. The epitome of give us your money and we do nothing for it

Using RESE PM has been a very pleasant experience for me! The company does an excellent job in advertising for, screening and obtaining good tenants. They also provide good communication and follow up on any maintenance issues. All the people I've dealt with at RESE are very helpful, courteous and cheerful. I would recommend RESE to anyone wanting an excellent property management company. They care about owners, properties and tenants alike.

If I could I would leave 'zero' stars. This manag...

If I could I would leave 'zero' stars. This management company is a complete joke to work with. The women at the Lehi office are combative and arrogant to say the least. Upon moving in; the fluorescent light tubes died; literally 3 weeks after moving in; I called to ask for replacement; they stated I had to pay for it per my lease; in reviewing said lease; no mention of this; had to have the agent get me new lights. However this wasn't the main issue; recently AC died during the last week of June 2015; we were experiencing 95+ degree weather; contacted Rese; they informed me due to Utah law it's not classified an emergency; they would get a tech out when available. 2 weeks later it was fixed. 2 weeks of no AC in the mid of summer; NOT IDEAL! Realize that if you deal with this joke of a company; you will get the run around everytime as they simply pass the buck time and time again and do not follow up on service requests; you have to keep on them like white on rice! Plus anytime there is an issue with the rental; they need to contact the owner to get approval to do anything; you would think they had waivers in place with the owner to take of day to day maintenance issues; but this is not the case! Hassle Free & Customer Service are foreign topics to this company; they are bottom line driven all at the expense of the customer; Service you ask? They couldn't even spell it! Thanks Rese for asking me to leave you a review and trying to reward me with a $25 gift card; guess what? Put that gift card where the sun don't shine! Thanks for the forum to provide transparency to prospective clients/customers.

Was told by Boca that they didn't accept cheques, and we would have to pay our rent online. Which isn't a problem, except that the online portal tacked on $30 extra for a rent payment under $1000! Not happy about this.

Edit: I reached out to the management, they were very helpful in fixing my problem. Be aware that you should pay by echeck, or through 7/11. We have seen a significant amount of roaches at our new property, but they've also sent exterminators over. Things aren't perfect, but the management has been willing to work with us and be attentive, so I am positive.

I'll update this review more as we spend more time at the property.

Angie applied a $100 fee a week before my rent was due. The reason they applied this fee was because I had asked them to provide a copy of my original lease agreement, which was supposed to be shared with me on my portal in the first place. So basically are trying to charge me $100 for a document which should have been provided in the first place. Don't rent from these swine as they are horrible to deal with even though what you are asking for was completely supposed to be provided by them in the first place. Such a terrible company with terrible people.

Very disgusted with this company ! Have had nothing but problems since day one ! I left the unit looking better than how it was when I moved in and now I'm getting crap back ! Never had the same property manager in the 1 year I lived there, they do Quartley inspections that are a waste of time because they never fix anything until I had to notify the landlord myself and he didn't know what was going on most of the time. When I would submit ticket they would delete it and blame the landlord for not approving any work or repairs needed that the landlord himself had to write me a check for the over charges I had with my cooling bill. The maintenance company tired to rip off the landlord on having to replace all of the units cooling/heating system and scared me telling me not to let my son sleep in the basement because of the cabron monixde that might kill him because they needed to be replaced with new ones. The landlord came and put in monitors for the Carbon monixde and there was no trace of anything !!! And now it's costing me 195.00 to replace smoke detector batteries ?? Really ! And that's not all there is a lot more unexplained charges. I called the cleaning company and spoke with the owner who's name is in the invoice that I got for 21 hours of work for ONE day (who works 21 hours straight in the cleaning business?) for 420.00 ! And he told me that for a unit my size and with his crew a deep clean move out would be between 8-10 hours for about 144-180 !!! Um this is a huge difference from the 420.00 I got !!! I still have not heard back from Rese, the landlord, or anyone to explain to me why these charges ridiculouslay more (mind you I have cleaned out the unit with my family for two days to get it move in ready which it was) Please don't rent from them ever !!! Do it through another company !!!!

Our move in experience wasn t the greatest (mostly due to previous tenants), but over time I ve seen some great improvement. The management has changed and our property manager has done a lot to try to make sure we are ok on our end. We ve had a couple of hiccups due to our extremely high level of stress right now, but RESE has been very patient with us. Most people don t realize how much goes into managing a property owned by someone else. I would say that RESE has done pretty well and a lot of these reviews in my opinion have been a little harsh. I would recommend them to anyone who is willing to open up an be a little understanding of/ appreciate all the hard work that goes into what they do. Overall they re a pretty great company!

As property owners, we seriously investigated a half dozen local property management companies and ultimately decided on Rese as we found them to be highly competitive in fees and quality of services. Early on, we were introduced to a number of the team players and were impressed with their passion, flexibility and general care. We were paired with Brandon and he has been extremely responsive and professional. In these sorts of business relationships, communication is key for long-term success. We look forward to collaborating for years to come and would recommend Rese to help you manage and protect your property investment, worry-free.

Very disappointed by the service I have had with Rese. My first property manager-Brock, never returned calls and never followed up. On one occasion she did not tell me my renters did not pay the full rent. She told me she would preform quarterly inspections, never did and then when I spoke to her boss she called and said she was sick for a month and would preform inspection (2 months late). I requested a new manager because I was fed up with her and the new gentleman failed to tell me the about the deduction in payment. When I have had to call in to review things with Gail, she is always very defensive and rude. We always get deposits last second before my mortgage comes in-very stressful! I am very disappointed and will NEVER recommend this company. Very poor communication and property managers. I am on countdown to my lease ending-Read your contract carefully, it does not state when they have to have your deposit in!!!

I am very concerned for any renter, or owner that is trusting this company with their property. We recently went and looked at a property to rent and it was in TERRIBLE condition. The house smells terribly of cat pee and cigarettes, and the yard has been torn apart. They are charging $1250 for this house, and $1,250 security deposit and $350 pet deposit. For what? I worked in property management and I would be ashamed for the people I was renting to and the owner I was representing if I had a property in that condition. I am disgusted.

Their website doesn't have a way to split rent and charges a ridiculous "convenience" fee, so my roommates and I have to pay with cash or check either through mail or in person. I send my rent check in every month a few days before it is due, and since I live in the valley it should only take about a day for them to receive it. Despite this, every month without fail I have to call in a few days later to remind them to check their mail. Every time that I ask if they've gotten it, the response has been, "I'm not seeing it in our system but I can go check the mail and call you back." And sure enough when they call back it's always there. A business should not have to be reminded to check their mail. This is something that should be done daily not just once a week, especially when other people's money is involved. This isn't the only case of bad communication my roommates and I have dealt with since renting from RESE but it has been the most frustrating for me personally.

FYI: I'm only writing this review as a potential renter, not a client, so take it with a grain of salt :).

I've been looking at rental properties for weeks and it has been very tough to even get a call back from any other large property management company, and even when I do, the property that I'm interested in is usually long gone even though they are still advertising it. Late this afternoon, as I checked Rentler for the 5th time today, a property advertised by RESE came up that immediately interested me, so I promptly called Jordan and was sent to his VM. Judging by my experience the last couple of weeks, I was almost certain that I wouldn't get a call back, especially at 5 in the evening and that I'd have to try again tomorrow. However, I was very wrong! Jordan called me back within the next 5 minutes and asked if I had any questions about the property, before letting me know that he was available to show me the property tonight (which was pretty shocking considering the service I've received from other companies). After rushing across town, I arrived at the property and walked through it with him, while explaining what my needs were. After I was finished looking, I let him know that I wanted to proceed. Jordan suggested that I email the company with my questions when I got home, in addition to filling out the application (which I had actually already sent in before I even drove over there). He was very friendly and professional and it was a very nice change of pace from what I've been experiencing. So far, I'm very impressed with RESE and If the property works out for my family, I hope to give another positive review as an actual client.

On another note: I noticed that many of the reviews contain complaints that are for items not within a property management companies control. In fact, a lot of complaints are from people who don't seem to understand the role that the Utah laws play in leasing. For example, Utah law is what dictates the length of time deposits can take to be returned to renters and in my experience, all of my former landlords have taken about 30 days. It's not as simple as cutting a check. There are legal procedures involved. Also, as far as I know, property managers are usually required to consult an owner before performing repairs or maintenance, except in emergency situations. If things aren't getting done, it just might be the owner delaying the process, NOT the property management company (which is what happened to me with another property that I rented). Finally, "cleaning fees" are common, no matter how spotless you leave a property. Make sure you understand the requirements in order to get your full deposit back, prior to expecting one back. For example, on one property that I rented, the cleaning fee was mandatory no matter how clean you left the property. My point is that there are negative reviews that are deserved and ones that are not. The most important thing that you can do (as a renter) to avoid a poor experience and giving an undeserved negative review is to educate yourself on what the laws are, and what you are actually agreeing to, and to make sure to address any concerns PRIOR to signing a lease and moving in. Also, don't forget to make sure you DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, (especially when you do your pre-move in walk through)!!! The fact is, that once you sign a legally binding document, you are committed and you better have your "ducks in a row" and understand exactly what you just committed to. In sum, complaints about bad customer service or deliberate deception, etc. are always warrented and should be expressed so that companies can be held responsible. However, complaints for something that is beyond a business's control really aren't justified. Do your homework and THEN write your review.

Rese property management is joke, they don't do maintenance, hard to get hold of them, and the only time they fix their property is Anual Housing inspection time. They have cancelled 2 repair request without fixing and the second one I was told to call some one to clean the clogged dryer out let as if I am the owner, they told me it is cheap and easy to do job. The fridge is broken melting food I had to get a used one to keep my food. I am not happy with Rese property management and you need to be careful letting them run your business or being their tenant.

The person that manages my properties is good, but the accounting/reporting/statement systems and processes they use are beyond extremely frustrating, almost maddening, and does not always provide accurate information. I had to perform a manual review to follow incoming funds and disbursements to myself, and found that a few hundred dollars was missing. It's been about a year and the problem persists.

If I could give no stars I would. From day one they have been horrible with us. We signed the lease and the day of move in saw that nothing was fixed. There were huge holes all over the walls, scratched paint, missing shower curtain rods, missing door stops, writing on the walls from kids, and it was not clean. I had to fight to get someone to come patch the holes and they told me that it was MY responsibility to get shower curtain rods and door stops(even though the doors were making holes in the walls due to the door stops being removed and not replaced). The person who replaced the towel rod that was missing got the cheapest one and then gorilla glued it into the wall, then painted over all of the stuff that oozed out around the towel rod. He then patched the holes and got paint that didn't match so we had spots all over our walls of unmatched paint. We had to fight Rese and I ended up having to pay for my own paint and get it matched and paint the whole place again(where I could since we had to move in). They had two weeks before we moved in to do this and didn't. We also realized that when they said it was 1800 square fee that it was including the garage and was also advertised as the bigger unit next to ours. They also sent us an email saying we had an assigned parking spot. This was the case for a month then we got a note on my the truck saying that it was someone elses spot. We got this place thinking we had a spot since his work truck doesn't fit in the garage. All they did was say sorry and we had to contact the HOA to rent a spot(which has 100 person waiting list). When we asked to get out of our lease due to all of these reasons they said that we had to pay $400 to get out of it, even if we find the person to rent it. I asked for a discount because of all of the issue and they said no and that all of the issues were our fault. They said we should have noticed that the square footage was wrong(like we just know from walking in) and that we should have pushed harder for the walls to be fixed before we moved in (we already requested it and felt like a few weeks was enough time to do this). Now they have put the listing back up with wrong photos that are misleading, they put information that was incorrect and I have had to call several times to get it fixed. They said they would list it ASAP but they didn't before the weekend so I had to advertise it over the weekend and do all the work showing etc because we need to rent it ASAP. They have cost us more money than it should have on top of another $400 for us leaving. Of course we want to leave! It's been lies since day 1!

We have neighbors that rent through Rese as we do too. These neighbors have been loud and boisterous with music and parties until 3am or later. We have talked to them multiple times to ask them to be quiet and nothing has improved. I talked to Rese about our problem and this is their response,

"Hello Abigale,
I was told you are having some issues with your neighbor and noise levels at late times. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to assist you. You will want to call the police about this issue when it occurs next, they will be able to help you avoid this in the future.

OWNER REVIEW: I'm an owner of a 4-plex in Salt Lake and have been working with RESE for about 6 months now. I was in a very bad spot with a property management company that did poor management and I had to fire. This is universally a challenging process and can be a challenge. This one certainly was, but the team at RESE stepped in, addressed the issues and challenges with the transfer of management, moving over the leases and the like. Tony and his team have been fantastic! They are professional, proactive (one of the issues I had with my prior management company) and responsive.

We had some frustrated tenants due to the prior management company which the tenants took out on RESE, which isn't reasonable, but they stepped in and did their absolute best to address the complaints and issues the tenant had based on promises they had allegedly received from the prior manager.

I own about 50 doors in other markets. I have been fortunate to have found RESE, through unfortunate circumstances, to be the management company for my one property in SLC. I have experienced good and bad management. I have 2 other management companies that manage our other properties in 2 other markets, so I believe I have a point of view with some weight.

To owners seeking a management company, RESE will not let you down. They will manage professionally and effectively. I am incredibly please with them and look forward to them further stabilizing my asset and working together to have a successful investment. I highly recommend them to take care of your home or portfolio.

I was moving to Utah from out of state and applied for a property solely on the pictures provided on the site. I was approved for the property and was very relieved to plan my move across the country knowing we already had a place lined up. They even had someone set up to show me the house as soon as I arrived in town so I was very excited. A few days after signing the lease I was called by Rese Property Management only to find out that, according to them, the owner of the home now wanted to raise the rent by $300 A MONTH from $1900 to $2200. The representative from RESE told me that If I was willing to pay the extra money I could still have the property. Of course I said "no". I even asked if they could show me anything else in the original price range to which I was told they had nothing available. I don't even know if this is legal however I was extremely upset to find out that I now had to change all of my moving plans. I was forced to now leave my family behind and live out of a hotel for 2 weeks until I was able to find a place. On top of all that, they still had the person scheduled to show me the property contacting me to set up a time to view the home a week after all this! I would definitely look elsewhere if you were looking to rent a home from this company. Very unprofessional.

We work with Brandon Epperson and he's great. He's really knowledgeable about what improvements or adjustments need to be made before renting a property. He also responds immediately to any questions that I have had. And he responds to requests from our tenants. He passes along anything that we need to address, but mostly he just handles it. And, really, that's the reason why we wanted a property management company to begin with.

My business partner and I are planning on acquiring more rental properties and we will definitely use Brandon and RESE for the other properties.

This company was extremely unprofessional. I called to schedule a time to see a property. I arrived on time (since they said to not be late) but they did not show up. Twenty minutes after the scheduled time, they sent me an email saying that the showing had been cancelled and the property had already been rented. They easily could have sent that email much sooner so I wouldn't have had to waste time waiting for them and driving 20 minutes each way for nothing.

Everyone that you talk to at Rese will be very kin...

Everyone that you talk to at Rese will be very kind and try to be helpful. I'm moving to SLC from California. When I called I spoke to several people and the experience, honestly was great. They were willing to answer questions about the area and said if I put in an application, then it could be transferred from property to property, which is really nice, especially because one can spend a LOT of money applying to various apartments.

However, it took Rese more than 5 business days to process my application, during which, all the properties I was interested in were rented out. This left me feeling hung out to dry.

Additionally, one of the properties I wanted to see was leased before my appointment, no big deal that happens, but at least call me to let me know so that I can see other places. They did not, again wasting time.

When talking on the phone everyone will seem helpful, but usually when you ask a pointed question, the answer is "let me talk to ______ and I'll call you right back." I was promised a call back and did not receive one THREE times over a day and a half. That is unbelievably poor customer service. I second the other review that it seems like they want to do a good job, but are overworked and understaffed. They have access to desirable properties, particularly if you don't want to live in a bigger complex, but what is the point if they just waste your time.

After writing this initial review, a manager contacted me and apologized. They seemed like they want to make it right...but it was too little too late. If they can get their act together, they could be the best resource to small units in the Salt Lake area, but their organization and service needs some work. Hire more people, and hire quality people.

Moving is difficult on its own and at this point Rese doesn't make your life any easier.

THE WORST RENTAL MANAGEMENT COMPANY EVER!!!

THE WORST RENTAL MANAGEMENT COMPANY EVER!!!
DISHONEST, CHEATERS, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
If I could give this company a negative 5 stars I would. I have rented from this company for 3.5 years. Upon moving out I mowed my yard, cleaned my home shampooed the carpets and cleaned the entire property better then the day I moved in. Prior to moving in we requested these services to be done for us and they refused and charged us for repainting that we requested to be fixed before we moved in!

Rese Property Management promised me they would give me a refund of my deposit with in 30 day's of me moving out, they said that was their policy. 33 day's after moving out I still had not received a refund or heard a word from Rese Property Management. I called, my wife called and they hung up on us multiple times saying nothing they could do for us and they would "look into it" we received an email the next day stating we would receive 1/3 of our deposit back because they had to "mow the lawn" "shampoo the carpets", and "clean the house". We replied to them asking why they would charge us these services when we know it was not done. we live close to the home and we were in the home the day the new renters were to move in. They mowed the lawn once after we moved out over a month after we moved out and they are charging us for it. I called them and they stated there was nothing to be done and they would submit it to a "committee" however this said committee has no phone number no email or no way to contact them and they REFUSE to give us any ETA or any information.

They continued to bounce around on their answers stating "they already mailed us a check", "they are looking into the disagreement", "they are submitting requests to the subcontractors" "if we request a call back from a manager they would call us back"

While renting with Rese the owner of our home had to take care of the repairs on his own because Rese DOES NOT pay their sub contractors. The owner even told us to "contact him directly with any repairs and not to go through Rese." They bill the homeowner yet they don't pay out the contractors for their labor. I also know this because I did work for a company that did not get paid by Rese and Rese owed them thousands of dollars for work that was done.

Rese's broker "Tony" refuses to return calls. The office states we have to request a call from him via email. We requested this call over a week prior and many many times yet no return call. How can a broker be so self absorbed that he can't even take 5 minutes to care for a client? Their office manager Angie sent an email to my wife stating that she will not be calling her back because "she believed the issue to be resolved and it is not important enough for a phone call" Angie also gave the state of Utah incorrect information and this had to be fixed because of her lie. Shae the front desk lady will simply tell me "there is nothing i can do and hang up on me". I have constantly asked for a call back that is all I wanted and they refuse to have anyone call me back. All I want is answers!

In short this company is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

Its not that I am upset that they didn't return our full deposit it is more that I have requested to talk to someone anyone who will discuss this issue with me and the manager and broker refuse to answer our calls or call back.

An average property management company. One interesting item was that they ll require inspections at intervals that feel random as the won t schedule it with you, rather they tell you. Then they Say they ll be there between 4-5pm and show up at 4:59. Pretty inconvenient and a very rude way as you plan your day. They ll take video of your rental property. Their field agents are rude as well. They told us they came to take photos of damage. They took video and not photos and the fact that they would assume there would be any damage was very offensive. Asked to reschedule and no phone call reminder would be a great addition to their customer service. Especially confcidering that we ve always communitcated with Reese what exactly needed to be repaired and that things are not being repaired right we re repaired, but still not operational. Have had great relationships with a couple of their office reps, however. Which is why this management company is just an average company. They re neither unique nor special.

Hands down the worst renting experience ever. I r...

Hands down the worst renting experience ever. I rented a store front and paid cash up front for 6 months. Therefore we we're never late during that period. The owner of the property gave us a month or two free because we had to build the space out and fix many issues in order to run a business. So once the 6 months was up we spoke to them and both parties agreed we had 1 more month. A mistake we both made. As soon as it was realized we owed that month we paid it within a few days. That left us tight on funds. So the following month we were 5 days late. This warrants a 10% late fee at worst case. Well, they served us a 3 day vacate notice for being 5 days late. More recently, the company decided they want us to qualify to continue the lease. Although the lease states that our lease automatically renews at a 3% increase. We never had to qualify in the first place. Now we are left without a space. This company has horrible communication skills. Also, the CAM fees we paid each month went unserviced. The snow was rarely removed, the dumpsters overflowed, the trash never cleaned up. On top of all that, the utilities were never equally split up as there are not a correct amount of meters. They're maintenance put holes in our awning and left them, the list goes on and on. Nothing but a bhad experience.

My boyfriend and I just got ourselves into a fabulous rental managed by RESE Property Management. Everyone has been so pleasant to work with! The office staff are so kind and professional, they made it extremely seamless to get into what we were looking for. They explained the process in depth, provided all the needed resources and were so quick to respond with any questions or concerns we may have had. If you re looking for a company to manage your property and to find the appropriate tenants, this is the one for you. If you re a prospective renter and looking to become a tenant, this is once again the company for you.
Thank you to all the RESE Property Management staff!

Terrible communication, unorganized, always waitin...

Terrible communication, unorganized, always waiting weeks for a simple maintenance request to be fulfilled, which was never even resolved (broken dishwasher for more than 4 months up until we moved out) Had several different people contact us several times within a month span asking for a forwarding address, just to realize 45 days later that it never arrived in the mail and now we are being charged the fee to re-issue it? Received some unprofessional texts that came across in an aggressive manner because they can't understand why we would be upset over a fee that was completely out of our control. Also received texts promising they would update us regarding the disposition and when it was sent in the mail, and they never did. I had to follow up every time and when I asked for our refund amount to be disclosed over email, they told me they didn't have access to that information, but then the next day someone sent it to me.. so they're all over the place. On top of that, you basically have zero chance of disputing any charges made regarding the condition of the place, because they pretty much charge what they want and leave a 3 word explanation for what the money went towards. So if we are going to have to just deal with the amount we are given, at least take some accountability with losing our check or figure out what happened with the mail carrier you used, because you failed to follow through with any your other promises. I will never contract with a place that is managed by RESE for several frustrating reasons, and I was nothing but a good, rule abiding tenant when I was there.

In response to the message left from RESE on my review, since I guess we can't reply?

1) I think I spent maybe 10 minutes looking over your reviews and didn't even get through a quarter of them to realize I had already read enough to know that the same reoccurring issues seem to be a problem. I recall one person even mentioning that if there are honestly this many poor reviews being left regarding the same issues, than clearly something isn't working and/or is a poor business practice. So rather than sit and explain how you guys rely on all these other vendors/systems to divert the attention away from RESE and why it's never your fault. How about figure out a solution with your "vendors" and provide your tenants with an explanation of what happened. If you don't know what happened, than be sympathetic/understanding and offer to take care of it, rather than put it on us as if we had all the control. You guys constantly emphasize the fact that most things are out of your control, but than when it's out of the tenants control, its our problem, never yours. I work for a company that deals with people's paychecks, and when there are errors made on the employee side, we don't tell the employee to deal with it then pay a fee. We let them know it was due to their mistake but still take care of the fees to make sure they get a new paycheck, even if it wasn't our fault, because that is called good business practice.

2) We went without a functional dishwasher for months, even after we made several maintenance requests and only had one person come by to basically tell us the problem, but then tell us that the part might not be covered by the owner or property manager? He assures us he will find out, but then we never hear anything again. We submit another request and nothing ever happened. Again, I don't know what processes are in place when it comes to having appliances fixed, but clearly it can't be a great process, because it was never dealt with even when we didn't break it.

3) I could go on and on about the way RESE, not another vendor, communicated with us, but I think my first review clearly explained that. Also, we had to wait more than 2 weeks to here back from your "decisions committee" regarding our case to appeal the fee, just to be told we still have to pay a fee. Yet again, we are asked to spend all this time to put together a case we should have ever had to do, for pretty much the exact same result. Go figure.

I had attempted to try and rent through this company and was treated poorly by Anne who was the leasing agent. I had first been denied because they stated that my credit was too low. I had stated that I have a wonderful payment history with other Property Managements and has also increase in the last year and a half. She stated that if I could get a co-signer and double the down payment, they could get me approved. I told her that it is ridiculous to have to have both. I told her I could get a co-signer.

She stated that she would speak to the broker about only having a co-signer and have my co-signer send it a app. She stated that she would wait to check their credit until she got approval from the Broker.

I didn't hear back from her for 2 days, so I reached out to her. She said that because she didn't received the app back that she had to go with other applicants. I told her that we were waiting to get that back to her until we heard if the Broker would approve. She said that she told me she needed the app first before talking to the broker. She never said that.

She has given me attitude the whole time I have dealt with her.

I was also stood up the first time I went to look at the place. I drive clear across the state in a snow storm to make it to my appointment and no one showed up.

I messaged Shayla Christensen through Facebook messenger to find out if they were still coming and received no response back. I called and left a voicemail for the office and received a call back the next day. They told me that because their power went out, they weren't able to cancel appointments or get back to anyone. I had told them that I also messaged Shayla and never got a response.

This company is very unprofessional.

RESE Property Management is a horrible company and their staff are liars, cheats, and thieves.

I have been trying to get Gail Kastleman and Tyler Kimball to respond to me for over 4 months now. They responded at the beginning but as soon as they realized they were in the wrong, they stopped responding.

We were renting a condo in Eagle Mountain which sold. They told us that the individuals moving in would rip out all the carpet and we would not have to have it cleaned. Then after we moved they took out the cost of having the carpets cleaned out of our deposit.

We cleaned that entire apartment before we moved out, including the walls and baseboards. Then they took out of our deposit the money to have the apartment cleaned. I asked for proof, for pictures, in response they sent one picture from behind a toilet and refused to send more.

They, in a fight to get good reviews, are bribing people with gift cards.

I would never ever use RESE again and would caution anyone who is thinking about using them.

RESE Property Management used to manage a condomin...

RESE Property Management used to manage a condominium located at West valley City. The last tenants placed by RESE end up being evicted on August 2017. The tenants incurred substantial damage to the property (a value approaching $10,000). As I lived out of state, the extend of the damage caused by these tenants was not revealed to me until January of 2018, when I decided that I would no longer rent the property, and hired a Real Estate agent to place the property in the market (the Real Estate agent was actually the one who informed me about the conditions of the property).

Notably, during August 2017 to January 2018, RESE collectted its management fees, while my property remained unmanaged and completely uninhabitable. Once I realized what had happened, I contacted my RESE property manager, Scott. Scott was very defensive, but assured us that RESE filed with their lawyers to collect $2,000 from the tenants, to alleviate some of the repair costs.

On March 2018, 3 months after having dismissed RESE s services, I noticed that RESE continued (and still continues today) to charge me for monthly management fees. According to their calculations, I owe them $769.96. I asked Scott about these recurring charges. He replied that I needed to formally terminate their services through an Termination Agreement. This "Termination Agreement stipulates that:

(1) RESE would be exempt themselves from any liability.

(2) I (the owner) had undergone a complete walkthrough and was satisfied with the conditions of the property.

(3) That RESE had returned all the keys and other means to access the property (which they fail to do).

(4) That I would have to pay a $59.96 release fee.

(5) RESE would retain 10% processing fee (+$9.00 per check) from any funds collected from the tenant (i.e. $209.00 if 2,000 are recovered from tenants).

Prior to publishing this posting, I tried to email and call Scott, who ceased to reply to my emails and was, conveniently, never available to talk on the phone. I spoke twice with the office manager, Lisa. I explained to her that if this issue was not resolved, post a review online, stating the facts and file a complaint with BBB.

I ended up filing a complaint with BBB asking for:

(1) RESE is to release me immediately from any imaginary contract that RESE think I might have with them.

(2) RESE to wave any termination fees that (i.e. $59.96).

(3) That given the extent of their mismanagement and gross neglect of my property, RESE will forfeit any money (i.e. $209.00) that may be collected from the last tenants.

(4) Given that trust no longer exists between me and RESE, RESE will prove me with the information of the collection lawyer.

I will see what will come out of this. This could have been avoided if RESE had not failed to obtain references for the tenants (in contracts with property owners, RESE "reserves the right" not to check references and exempts itself from liability resulting from any property damages resulting from tenants... even though RESE decision may be the cause it).

A few days after this posting, Scott emailed me:

"I know you are not very happy with us, and I respect your right to put in a review, but I do kindly ask that you remove my name from google. If you want, I am okay if you leave my first name, but I am asking to for my last name to be removed. I am just an employee here, and I dont think it is fair to have my full name on google like that. It could potentially hinder my ability to get jobs in the future. With being an employee here, I am asked to carry out certain things that I may not fully agree with- This should reflect upon RESE, and not on my personal full name on something that is etched in stone on the internet. I hope you can understand? Please please remove [my last name] from Google." (see below).

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY, and do not ever let...

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY, and do not ever let them manage a property for you. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

Our AC has been broken for more than two weeks, and they have not responded to any of our emails or phone messages. When we finally got ahold of their secretary, she would not transfer us or let us speak with anyone else. She told us to just send an email. Well, after five emails, we still have not gotten a single response. They "lost" our work order, and have still not sent someone to fix the AC. They keep saying they are waiting for owner approval, even though we have personally contacted the owner daily and he said he gave approval the second day.

When we asked about prorating their rent, they told us to "read the contract" and hung up.

We have tried to contact them about issues in the past and it has taken weeks for a single person to respond to us.

Our owner literally has a paper on the fridge when you first move in that says if you have any problems to contact him instead of RESE because they never do anything. Do not let them manage your property!
