More than grateful for the professionalism and the attention of the first minute, my husband had all the attention and contention. Thanks to all the professionals, my husband entered with a heart attack and thanks to all that team of professionals they saved his life and we were tourists without Sure and so everything attended to us very quickly. I have nothing but words of thanks

My husband was sent to Mt Siani from Key West for a heart cath. I work in the medical field and I have to say it is the MOST unorganized hospital I have ever been in or seen. I was a traveler for 10 years been around the world working and have never seen such blatant miscommunication terrible physician treatment NOT ONE TIME did the physician speak to the family. The heart cath were never at a scheduled time he never got food when he was supposed to TERRIBLE place.

My mom ended up in ICU a couple weeks ago and I was so impressed with the service. Everyone from the nurses, the doctors, the cleaning crew, etc were extremely caring and hospitable. I couldn't believe how nice people were.So refreshing to find that some people still do love their jobs and what they do.

Friendly staff, waiting times are not too bad, but god forbid if you ever have an accident try not to come here - I would recommend an urgent care center instead.

They charged me $21,000 for a rib exam. Luckily I have good insurance which paid the entire amount.

However, months after my accident I am still receiving bills from third-party vendors. Half the people sending me bills never even said hello to me.

If there was an option for zero I d be pressing on that. I had always heard so many great things about this hospital. When my surgeon asked me to go to their ED after having what I thought was a minor complication, I felt I was going to be in the right place. The ED staff was great and attentive from the doctors to the nurses. Everything went well while at the ED. I ended up having a major complication (bilateral pulmonary embolism) and my nightmare began once I was admitted. I was first taken to get a bunch of necessary imaging before I got to my room. After three hours of testing I finally arrived to my room in excruciating pain, hungry and thirsty. We asked the nurse for meds and to get some snacks and she said she had no orders and had put a call out to the hospitalist. Around the same time Dr. Ciment (pulmonologist) arrived at my room looking rushed and not saying much. To a certain degree he was kind of dismissive but I didn t really pay much attention at the time. An hour later I m still in pain and no food or water. The nurse had no clue as the hospitalist wasn t answering the calls. Finally another hospitalist comes in who works with my surgeon and he set everything up, listened to my concerns and had a plan to get a hematologist to come out and really worked to make me comfortable. That was short lived and I never got tot see him again. All of a sudden my treatment was changed and I was confused. A very rude phlebotomist walked in to get blood, acknowledged that I have really hard veins and instead of taking her time to look for the right option she stuck me by my wrist and hurt me to the point I screamed out loud. Instead of apologizing she was offended and left. The next morning the pulmonologist walks in letting me know he was sending me home. This is the second time I have a pulmonary embolism in less than two years and I was a little taken back at the fact he was so dismissive. He said my clots weren t huge and that I should be fine. A new hospitalist comes in with the same story. When I asked the pulmonologist for this so called hematologist that would come see me he said I could do all this outpatient. I hadn t even been admitted for 24 hours. I finally asked my nurse to put a call out to the hospitalist because I didn t feel comfortable going home as I was still feeling miserable and not only did he not bother to come but completely dismissed my concerns and sent me home. In their eyes I was stable yet my resting heart rate never came under 100 while I was admitted. Today I m writing this review from my room at Baptist. I had to be rushed by fire rescue as I got a sharp pain that literally took my breath away, my heart rate went up to 140 bpm and my body temperature dropped to 93 degrees. All related to the clots I still have in my body and the negligence of the doctors and the center. At one point the very dismissive pulmonologist said your clots are not even that big I am so sorry my lungs didn t blow up in front of you. I will have to stay as long as I need to here at Baptist as they obviously deemed I was way to high risk to be healing at home. This was not a flu. This is a complication that can be fatal and everyone knows that.

I let them know up front I am Trans and would like to be referred as. The staff constantly/ purposely used The wrong pronouns while conversing with my girlfriend due to my panic attack. The doctor (Dr.Sherman) walks out saying "Bye, ladies... and gentlemen I guess" with an attitude. They felt multiple lumps in my breast and didn't preform any type of Cat Scan. I told every connective tissue (joint) on my body aches as if I'm 70 yro, and they administered pain meds, no gutter investigation. As well as me not being able to keep down any food or water. They just put me on an I.v. I was sent home within 2 hours. 2 hours of being discriminated against with my girlfriend and improper treatment. Almost $5,000 for no new news or checkups. I went to my primary doctor and they were appalled. I should have at least had a Cat Scan done on me. Also the assistant gently touched my lumps. Dr.sherman was "gentle" then when I was having a conversation with my girlfriend, and she pressed so hard on my lump as if she purposely was trying to pop it or something... When I spoke up, she said she must've "hit the spot". Worst experience ever. So unprofessional

The staff, most of them, are rude and/or death on limbs. No empathy. No personality. Most confusing and unorganized week, YES WEEK, of my life.. I stayed with my friend while he had some blood clots desolved (hopefully) ...They were giving him oxycodone and dilated prior to surgery. Then we he came out of anestegia, NOTHING but Tylenol?.. He was in so much pain over the weekend at Mt Sinai. I'm sitting here now and am still bedazzled. Oh yes.. A nurse woke me at 3:30 am Saturdayvmorning yelling at me to leave or she is going to call security. Apparently, my friend had left the building and was stumbling around outside somewhere. He had been gone for over 2 hrs and they discharged him. He eventually called me and was re-admitted thru ER. He has been yelling and crying for 2 days. I'm going to the store to get him a bottle of wine..

Do NOT come here !! I wouldn t even trust my dog here. I have been living in Miami my entire life for 25 years to be exact. My stay was horrible and honestly felt ashamed and humiliated.I was Not only MISDIAGNOSED but also made fun of by nurses, staff, and doctors right outside the hospital room that was probably the reason for the error even though it was 3 days .I know people are human and interactions can be criticized or humorous but to be ridiculed right outside the hospital room with the tv on is unacceptable. My stay at mountsinai makes me realize how a hospital in Dominican Republic was better.Go to Baptist they are professional and put effort into safety plus diagnosis . Yes , people are human and make mistakes as in any hospital can occur. They made me get an X ray and MRI when ur not even there for a muscle or bone issue. Being here made me appreciate great hospitals like UCLA in west wood or Baptist hospital, and even Larkin hospital who don t run radiology or tests if there is a cheaper or more efficient route. if you have time don t waste a second here it epitomizes greed and the sad state of our health care industry is in.

They advertise same day or next day appointments. Not true.Having selected my primary care physician I tried to get an appointment for a medical issue.I was told that the earliest I could be seen would be a month from that day.Unacceptable

Even I arrived a little late everyone was so kind, zero stressed and allowed me to do my exams in a proper way. From the front desk receptionist to the whole staff including Dr Imson and her assistants everyone was sweet, super polite and seemed in a super happy environment. It was even a pleasure having the blood test! I did my annual exams in less than 40 minutes. It was a pleasure.

Horrible hospital. Delivered my baby there, it felt very impersonal. Not very clean,. Spend several thousands and they didn t even gave my newborn a decent onesie to wear. They had the nerve to dress newborns in a paper shirts.

I highly recommend this hospital for you to have your baby despite the reviews you may read about the other Departments of the hospital.

2 hours waiting for my wife to be treated for a 2 degree burn on her hand, we had to leave without being treated, because they did not have medical personnel available on duty, they said they had other emergencies. As a doctor, she felt ashamed of others. And I am not going to call the number given as an automatic response to this publication, if you want you can contact me, you have my phone number.

Use never the emergency room of this hopital, at least not a self pay as one is ripped off. For a mere bladder infection we paid $600+ to Mount Sinai and we thought that''s it. But then came a seperate invoice not only for the lab but $1,400+ for the doctor. Unbelievable! When we came in to the emergency room nobody told us that such invoicing with such amounts could come.

I ve always have had a wonderful experience with everyone that I have interacted with here at Mount Sinai since I started coming here to see Dr. Yoram Padeh who is an immunologist a few years ago. This hospital makes everything from scheduling to checkin seamless. I now have most of my specialists here. The 2nd floor cafeteria and coffee shops are delicious and also have wonderful service. Finally this place has a smaller hospital feel while being a very large tertiary referral center, so virtually any specality is here.

Obviously if it's life or death, go to the nearest hospital. If you have the time, go somewhere else.

Old facilities. Overworked crews. Under staffed units. Logistics issues. They put a contagious sickly patient in a shared room with my 94 yo grandmother who was dealing with a cardiac issue.

And to boot, they charge $5+ to park.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, check in at 11:00 was minimal wait, but.. came in for extreme pain in hip area, took ex rays and CT scan, Five hours later said it wasn t fractured and follow up with a gynecologist if pain persists. Ended up being a pinched Sciatic nerve. Which a massage therapist diagnosed immediately.

I'm very relieved to have such wonderful and caring staff and Dr Escalante and Dr Duara. My life changed when I came to the Wein Center. Jennifer has showed compassion and concerns with my mother. She has been able to control my mom s behavior and much more. Thank you from my mom and myself and God s blessing.

Shout out to ALL the non medical and medical staff working in the new beautiful E.R yesterday morning- from the security guards, receptionist and medical staff to the coffee shop attendants (and the security guard who directed me down the hall towards coffee)- everyone was very professional, friendly, informative, and respectful. And the coffee was good.

Ted's (PA) exemplary bed side manner, Dr. Farsy's (attending) efficiency and knowledge, and Robert's (phlebotomist) 18 gauge harpoon contributed greatly to receiving excellent care. Kudos !

My parking ticket was validated at the security desk, and guess what - no parking fees. Thanks Mt. Sinai.

My daughter was admitted for mental conditions in one of the psychiatric wards ... I had already published my very negative opinion by the way, when communicating with the administration and receiving all their support and support, I prefer to rectify my opinion. I can only tell you that there are more good staff than bad. And that the administration behaves very well when we ask for help ... Dr. Acosta (psychiatrist) excellent, the nurses Laura, Janet very professional and respectful. Of all the psychiatric wards my daughter has visited, the one that has been the best.

I went into this hospital late yesterday night because I had a seizure, I was scared as this hasn't happened in over 3 years, when I got there and they took my blood pressure and temperature, then the asked me if I has insurance, I told them no I would be paying out of pocket, 10 minutes later in comes Dr. Daniel Gurr, he asked me some questions and not even 5 minutes later, he refereed to a medical center and recommended I get Obama care, he told me he could give me something for my headache and sent me home.
Never have I felt more like a second class citizens, I cried all the way home, maybe not every Doctor is like him and the nurses were polite, but this was literally the worst experience I've ever has in an ER. I recommended you drive a little longer and get your self to Aventura Hospital.
I will never step foot in this hospital again.

Everyone is super nice and caring from the ER staff to the admitted team to housekeeping. I've been admitted three different times and felt the same. I love getting to have some say in my meals as well. It is convenient that all my doctors are there whenever I have to get admitted, the hospital is just steps away.

My name is Veronica B. I am visiting from New Orleans. I had an accident riding a bike on the boardwalk, it just happened that I was trying not to hit a pedestrian who was walking on the side. I fell hard on the concrete and dislocated my left patella. Paramedics arrived ver quickly and were very caring and professional. They took me to Mount Sinai, had the worst experience of my life. A residence doctor saw me for a few minutes, order an X-ray, I was wearing leggings and had blood on them. I thought that they would have to cut them to review how bad the injury was, that didn t happen. Waited for hours for the results. When they got the X-ray report showed I had no fractures. At that point the so called attending physician took a pick in the room to tell that I needed to go home with crutches and a knee brace. When I get home and tried taking my leggings off I see this four inch gash on my thigh which they failed to see where that blood was coming from. I immediately called and spoke to the head nurse who was in Lala land explained what had happened and how unprofessional my care was and now I needed to deal with this laceration that needed suters. The guy kept apologizing and told me to go back that he was going to make sure that another physician would take a look. The so called charge nurse had not even asked me my name lol. Told him that Charity hospital was an indigent hospital that took care of the patients with care and compassion. Needless to say I went to urgent care and was satisfied with my care. If you decide to go to that hospitlal be aware what you will be facing... a staff with lack of knowledge and poor care. By the way the residence who saw me was Blake Guillory II, DO and the attending physician was Carlos Cao,MD who took a pick in the room without examining me. Five hour wait for something minor. Very upset and I would not recommend anyone to go to a killer hospital. Best of luck if you end up there.

Amazing service! My wife and I, went to the ER for my 1 year old son, who had a high fever and the service was impeccable. We love the discharge folder, which contained the summary of our visit and prescriptions. Thank you again to the entire staff!

I have been trying to contact patient relations fo...

I have been trying to contact patient relations for over two weeks now in regards to Dr. Silvers office inappropriately billing me and upcoding me for services I never had renderred.

On an attempt to reach Patient Relations 15 and 21 days after my filed dispute and complaint, I have received no response from them or the CMO handling my case.

The office has changed the bill from "exam" to "consult". One can find more information on my experience online with the Better Business Bureau.

The office says they will remove the lab bills (for labs I never had) if I pay them their adjusted "Consult" office bill. LabCorp is holding the bill until we find a resolution.

The new code Dr. Silvers is billing for is CPT code 99243. After insurance, this is $10 less than what they previously charged after weeks of disputing.

It is incorrect to charge me for CPT 99243 when I was not in consultation with Dr. Silvers for more than a few minutes. 99243 reflects a detailed examination, a detailed medical history and medical decision making which should take place within a 40 minute time frame. To charge for, and claim Dr. Silvers can complete a detailed exam and detailed history in 3 minutes is wrong.

In addition, the office is failing to release my medical records in which I requested by notarized and certified mail. It is a violation not to release medical records at the patient's request in the way the release was requested.

I would like to confirm that this is not a complaint against my insurance for not covering their services. I have no dispute with my insurance. My dispute is with this office incorrectly coding and billing me for services never rendered.

I will not resolve my complaint until the following three things take place:

1. The lab charges are completely dropped. This should have already taken place in your change from "exam" to "consult" and the bills should have never existed in the first place as I never had labwork done in your office.

2. My medical records are released to me by mail, as I requested by notarized and certified mail. According to legal counsel, you are obligated to meet me on this request and I should not have to go to your office to retrieve my medical records.

3. Bill me the correct "consult" time. If it is any more than the lowest amount of time necessary for a "consult" and doesn't reflect the appropriate services I had rendered, I will again dispute the bill.

If the office meets my requests, I will remove my complaint from BBB as and other businesses in which I have sent my complaints, and upon review of a new (and appropriately coded bill) I will consider moving forward with payment. Should the office be unable to find a code that reflects my three-minute consultation without medical history or exam, the office could drop the charges and I will withdraw my complaints. As Mount Sinai is responsible for the doctors within their building, this review will be posted here and will not be removed until my requests are met.

Although I loved the medical staff and the care they provided, the billing department is archaic and spiteful. The harassment begins the date of service and, not to put too fine a point on it, under duress we overpaid the account in early 2018 by several hundred dollars just to get them off the phone.
Nearly a year later, we are still trying to get the overpayment returned, unsuccessfully, even though their statement shows a credit balance. The hoops they demand you jump through are merely punitive and designed to let them keep the money.
We mentioned this problem to the physician and he just shook his head and said he'd heard it before.

I can t even put into the correct words to describe the amazing and compassionate care I have received in Mount Sinai ER, OR and 6th floor. As an RN for 10 years... I have never seen such exceptional medical professionals in my entire life. I want to specifically recognize James (ER aventura), Stephanie (night shift 6th floor RN), Valery (dayshift RN), Dr Lyn, Dr Bao (and his team of residents). Thank you so much for everything from the bottom of my heart. You all deserve an award! I will never forget how great I was treated. In my entire life I have never been a patient on the other side, you all have made my overall experience so great. You guys seriously raised the bar. Keep doing what your doing because you are making a difference in people s lives! Thank you all again!!!!! :)

Very friendly front desk staff. Excellent nurse who took blood pressure etc prior to seeing the doctor. Dr Imson is extremely friendly and professional. She's easy to talk to, listens and offers good advice even when she knows you're not going to take it! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor.

Although people here always smile it doesn't mean ...

Although people here always smile it doesn't mean this is a good or happy place. It's actually frustrating how long you have to wait for everything. The place is outdated, old school tube tv to entertain my 90 year old, vision impaired grandmother. The sheets aren't far behind, with holes and fading stains that don't quite fade enough.

It is discharge day and I receive the call that she is ready to go. I arrive to enter a new room which they moved her over in the middle of the night because my grandmother sleep talks and the new roommate who was up late talking to others with the light on complained, even though my grandmother had been there before her. When I walk into the room around 3:45 pm I see blood everywhere. They took out her IV and she's old and bleeds...I get it, fragile veins but why is my grandmother's hand still bloody (already dried by the time I get there) and there's blood on the floor, in the bathroom, on the sheet. Since she was being discharged today I was told they were waiting for her to leave to sanitize the whole room at once. So my grandmother should sit in a room dirty with her blood because she is leaving? Are your patients not worth the effort? Just because she's leaving does she not deserve a clean room to wait in? Moreover, she was thirsty and had barely any water, not even enough to fill an 8 ounce cup halfway. Once I asked for water it took another 15-20 minutes to receive it. When the discharge personnel finally came, there's only one and he is also the one to go handle emergencies with a crash cart apparently, one of the medications we spoke with the doctor the day before was not on there. That meant more waiting because the doctor was not in. By this point it was apparent that they were not ready for us to pick her up. I gave the nurse her pharmacy information and let her know we had to leave. I requested a wheelchair which took another long period of time. The lady who brought it was very nice and bright to my attention that no bag was given to my grandmother for her personal belongings. Once she got the bag and my grandmother in the chair I was ready to run out of this hospital. 5:26 pm we are finally in the car head home, just on time for heavy traffic.

Never again will I seek out any help from this hospital
I am disappointed in all aspects with this facility.

This is the worst hospital on the planet. I can t ...

This is the worst hospital on the planet. I can t say enough bad things about this place. Over a year after I delivered a baby there, and they keep sending me medical bills. Every time we call them to pay the new thing they state that we don t have any other bills. Then a month later they send something else. One bill for my daughter s NICU was sent to us 5 times and we knew that the amount was wrong. We spent hours on the phone with insurance agents who confirmed that we were right and that the hospital was trying to overcharge us. 13 months later we finally received a bill with a proper amount which we paid immediately. But let me tell you, with a newborn in our arms and all the stress we ve been through we were so fed up that we almost paid 3k (wrong bill) instead of $500. Now we received a bill from the collecting agency for the bill that we paid in full in August. We just found the exact amount in our credit card statement and considering how careful we are with our credit scores it was a shocking thing for us to see in the mail.
At this point we are so desperate and frustrated that there are no words to describe it all. Overcharging, not communicating with insurance, sending bills with the wrong amount of 10 times more than we owe them, sending paid bills to the collecting agency etc etc etc..
This hospital needs to fire everyone in their billing department and rethink the way in which they approach this whole billing process. It is hard enough to deal with all the medical procedures and recovery, leave alone doing it while being harassed by the hospital personnel. I can t even imagine how much extra money this hospital charged from those patients who didn t have energy or time to fight for the truth and stay on hold with their insurance for hours like we did.

Run from this place the most petty doctor. I had one doctor tell me I can stay until the morning because I had expressed to her I didnt feel good going home and she no problem but then 20 minutes later the leader of team petty doctor Garrett decided i needed to leave. I was given a paper to sign in order to stay thru the night. I sign it and have been here in some much pain and discomfort. Dr.Petty Garrett took away all my pain medication even aspirin and wont anwser the phone I can still get my mucinex and liptor but nothing for a 350 lb man to sleep without any pain ok as im writing right now one of residents just offer me a Tylenol 650 I really appreciate it but ive had to beg for a simple over the counter med. O btw supposedly the they dont have any juice or crackers. I take it back you can come by but stay away Dr. Petty Garrett. The nurses have been great but they cant override doctor petty

I finally broke down and went to the emergency roo...

I finally broke down and went to the emergency room after dealing with lower back and abdominal pain for weeks. I was taken back to triage quickly, and the nurses were all kind, but those are the only positive aspects of this hospital.

The on call doctor I had the misfortune of dealing with seemed to have a college frat boy mentality, even down to his rather limited vocabulary, which was peppered with four letter words, with an emphasis on those an adolescent boy would use to talk about his genitalia. This "doctor" spent much of his time either talking about his patients, or "teaching" the residents that they should be careful not to order too many tests or procedures, as the subsequent bills to various insurance companies would cause the hospital to be audited. (Apparently, they're currently third in billing the most insurance claims, but the frat boy "doctor" claims to be trying hard to have that rank drop). I was always under the impression that when a patient is being seen, the goal is to diagnose the problem, and then treat it, which might require ordering certain tests or procedures to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Apparently, I was mistaken. It seems that the goal (to this "doctor", at least) is to make sure to avoid being audited. Comforting thought, huh?

So after asking a few very generic questions about my symptoms, but not giving me time to elaborate on anything, the "doctor" asks what my goal is. I respond that I'd like imaging done to see if they can locate the cause of my continuing lower back and abdominal pain. He says something about getting in touch with my primary doctor to coordinate, then disappears.

At some point, I'm wheeled off for a CT scan, then brought back to triage, where I'm told the "doctor" has ordered morphine, and did I want it. I told the nurse that I'd prefer to not get any if I'd be released anytime soon, but I guess since it was obvious to her that I was in pain, she gave it to me anyway.

Not long after, the "doctor" shows up and decides that since the adrenal tumor they were looking for didn't show up on the CT scan, that my problem must be that I was either a drug addict (despite passing the urine drug screen with flying colors, and telling the nurse that I preferred to not receive morphine), or that I have some sort of eating disorder. I've been thin my entire life - much to my dismay - and despite doing everything I can to put on weight. My entire family is thin. I'm pretty sure it's something called genetics.

I'm no doctor, but I would think that if it's commonly accepted knowledge in the medical community that some people have slower than average metabolisms, that there are also people on the other end of the spectrum who have faster than average metabolisms. Apparently that thought never occurred to the frat boy "doc". Since he didn't immediately see some glaring abnormality on my CT scan, rather than even considering other possibilities, it was far easier to make blanket assumptions about a person who he had spent a total of perhaps 5 minutes with, then send them on their way.

I wouldn't trust this hospital to treat a minor cut, much less an actual emergency, especially when they have on call "doctors" sitting around gossiping about the patients and lecturing the residents about ordering less tests to avoid audits. If you're in need of emergency services, avoid this hospital at all costs.

Yesterday Nov20 DR Humberto Machado Jr. asked me to go to Mt Sinai Hospital for a catharization because I was having chest pains. I had a catharization 2 1/2 years ago at Mt Sinai and the service and staff were excellent. This time however, it was the complete opposite. Nobody paid attention to me nor explained what was going on. I'm not even sure what was done to me. They took me to a regular room , without any explanation and after a few ours I was so upset that I left the hospital.

My nephew had an accident on Labor Day weekend so we had to visit the ER last Sunday, September 1st early morning. I was extremely pleased by the attentive staff and the quick and prompt service; my nephew needed a pet-scan and staples on his head but even though it was scary for him the nurses, physician assistant and doctor made the experience less traumatic by explaining everything thoroughly and by trying to treat him attentively but quickly so we could go back home as soon as possible. We were given detailed instructions for his after-care. I believe the ER is either newly constructed or has been recently renovated since equipment and the facilities appear brand new, I cannot laud this place enough and again the staff was extremely nice and attentive.

A very well equipped hospital. They have an emergency room, that is efficient and ready for trauma. The maternity department is great. The nurses are attentive. This hospital is known for their heart care.

Would not be surprised to see skeletons in rooms due to neglect. My wife is a patient here now as I write this. Just another example of the really substandard level of care in South Florida. But this experience is really at the bottom.
