This is the worst hospital on the planet. I can t say enough bad things about this place. Over a year after I delivered a baby there, and they keep sending me medical bills. Every time we call them to pay the new thing they state that we don t have any other bills. Then a month later they send something else. One bill for my daughter s NICU was sent to us 5 times and we knew that the amount was wrong. We spent hours on the phone with insurance agents who confirmed that we were right and that the hospital was trying to overcharge us. 13 months later we finally received a bill with a proper amount which we paid immediately. But let me tell you, with a newborn in our arms and all the stress we ve been through we were so fed up that we almost paid 3k (wrong bill) instead of $500. Now we received a bill from the collecting agency for the bill that we paid in full in August. We just found the exact amount in our credit card statement and considering how careful we are with our credit scores it was a shocking thing for us to see in the mail.
At this point we are so desperate and frustrated that there are no words to describe it all. Overcharging, not communicating with insurance, sending bills with the wrong amount of 10 times more than we owe them, sending paid bills to the collecting agency etc etc etc..
This hospital needs to fire everyone in their billing department and rethink the way in which they approach this whole billing process. It is hard enough to deal with all the medical procedures and recovery, leave alone doing it while being harassed by the hospital personnel. I can t even imagine how much extra money this hospital charged from those patients who didn t have energy or time to fight for the truth and stay on hold with their insurance for hours like we did.
