My name is Veronica B. I am visiting from New Orleans. I had an accident riding a bike on the boardwalk, it just happened that I was trying not to hit a pedestrian who was walking on the side. I fell hard on the concrete and dislocated my left patella. Paramedics arrived ver quickly and were very caring and professional. They took me to Mount Sinai, had the worst experience of my life. A residence doctor saw me for a few minutes, order an X-ray, I was wearing leggings and had blood on them. I thought that they would have to cut them to review how bad the injury was, that didn t happen. Waited for hours for the results. When they got the X-ray report showed I had no fractures. At that point the so called attending physician took a pick in the room to tell that I needed to go home with crutches and a knee brace. When I get home and tried taking my leggings off I see this four inch gash on my thigh which they failed to see where that blood was coming from. I immediately called and spoke to the head nurse who was in Lala land explained what had happened and how unprofessional my care was and now I needed to deal with this laceration that needed suters. The guy kept apologizing and told me to go back that he was going to make sure that another physician would take a look. The so called charge nurse had not even asked me my name lol. Told him that Charity hospital was an indigent hospital that took care of the patients with care and compassion. Needless to say I went to urgent care and was satisfied with my care. If you decide to go to that hospitlal be aware what you will be facing... a staff with lack of knowledge and poor care. By the way the residence who saw me was Blake Guillory II, DO and the attending physician was Carlos Cao,MD who took a pick in the room without examining me. Five hour wait for something minor. Very upset and I would not recommend anyone to go to a killer hospital. Best of luck if you end up there.
