I spoke with six doctors and got six very different opinions and update on my condition. Never saw a doctor more than once. I was told Dr. Nicole Brown was my principal doctor and she saw me once in three days, seemed more interested in generating business for hospital than in my health. In the end, I am not sure what my diagnosis was, nor what follow up I should get nor what medication I needed. While there I was given several medications but at discharge I wasn't given any prescriptions. I never saw a doctor at discharge to explain any of these concerns. Nurses seemed to have different ideas than doctors about my condition. So no consensus about anything and that left me very unsatisfied with the entire process.

From uncapped, un-flushed, neglected IV lines to Dirty Bed sheets on Arrival to Room, To Asking for dinner early and receiving at night while I Slept and Receiving a Single Waffle and Egg for breakfast; To being given only Tylenol during my stay after an Invasive Surgery and Doctors who who don't listen, nothing comes close to the disappointment you can expect at Mt. Sinai!
When I first Arrived, Triage and the people in OLD ER were great.
The beds were old and the unit musty, but it served as a good "waiting room" while being admitted.
When I first made it into my room, i was immediately greeted by hair in the bathroom and some gunk and more hair on the bed. See Photo Above
After changing the sheets myself and situating myself I remained NPO(No Drinks or Food) and Went to sleep for my Surgery in the Morning.
Before My Surgery, they gave me Tylenol for the pain.It wasn't working and I was in Pain and they gave me Toradol which is Super Advil (Toradol just a strong NSAID) after the Surgery the nurses and doctors refused anything stronger and refused to even give me Toradol, even when I Asked for it.
Anytime I asked for pain relief, I WAS BROUGHT TYLENOL.FOR A SURGERY WOUND.
I asked for Dinner earlier on in the afternoon, around 5-6PM a little after my surgery and nobody came until I was asleep hours later.
My Iv Was left plugged into an Empty Machine constantly and caused my arm and the vein that was stuck to become irritated and develop a small pool of blood in the line and my arm.
I've seen nurses put blood vials in trashcans and go "Whoops, that's not Sharps!"(The Sticker Labeled, Sometimes Red, Hazardous Box where they're supposed to go) and nurses here mock the Elderly whilst Calling them Babies.
I will write a whole write up on the Main Doctor and his reaction to my concerns, feelings and pain.
PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
I'd Rather go anywhere else.

I have to leave a review for the entire center when I really just want to leae a review for my useless doctor. I went to Dr. Lilliam Ayala because she was the only doctor in the group who had any availability (i wonder why) and I was in major pain so I took the appt. with her. I wish I hadn't taken it! From the moment she started speaking with me I could tell by her demeanor that she was disregarding anything I had to say because of my age. And later when she said "this isn't anything major" I knew she could care less of any word I had spoken during the consultation. I wasted my time and my money going to this doctor. Yes, I am young, I realize that. And yes, as she mentioned, I am too young to be experiencing any pain I have mentioned...YES I REALIZE ALL OF THAT! YET I AM!! AND THAT IS WHY I NEEDED A DOCTOR. Clearly I do not know why I am in such pain. But to be disregarded by a doctor the way she disregarded me is actually quite disrespectful. Like ummm I paid like everyone else for your full attention whether you beileve me or not. She then told me "I'll send you to get an MRI if you can afford it." Ok, I work in HR and I know that an MRI can be expensive but umm "if i can afford it?" Do I look like I can't? Does it even matter? And I even had to ask if she could give me something for the pain because she honestly just wanted to send me on my way. Also, my MRI was not approved so who knows what she put in her notes and now I'm screwed. Its sad to see that there are doctors that have no regard on peoples situation and health.
Also, not that it matter but she's not really nice to her staff. I was with the nurse who was taking down my information (who was very nice) and the doctor opens the door and tells her in a very demoralizing manner that the blood work she ordered was incorrect (im assuming for some other patient) Let's say this is true...she is with a patient. You do not talk to an employee this way let alone in front of a patient. The nurse stayed quiet as that was a very awkward and possibly embarassing moment for her.
Do not go to Lilliam Ayala, she is not nice, she does not care and she will disregard your case because of your age. (a woman doctor of all doctors)

The ER is overcrowded with too many patients and not enough medical personnel. They stick you in a cramped room with 10 other patients and leave you for hours..... multiple TVs blasting and people talking so loud their conversation is right in your face!
You literally have to walk into their nurse station just to get someone's attention and then they give you an attitude for asking (after waiting hours) what's happening with your "emergency care"
A shame we didn't search for better options, this place was right up the road from where we were vacationing for the weekend! Would rate 0 Stars if I could. Really bad experience!!!

This is the WORST hospital I have ever seen. Even though some of the nurses are very nice, the rooms are horrible. They place 2 patients in a small room that's made for one person. My mom can't walk and in order to take her to the bathroom she needs to be taken in a wheelchair. The bathroom is super small and the wheelchair could not fit through the door. The attending physician was MIA for days before he decided to come and see my mother. My brother is her guardian, so when she is admitted to the hospital he stays with her at all times. They have no consideration for the patients family members. Their is a sign on the wall by the bathroom in the room that states Bathroom is for patient only. But, there are 2 patients in the room (that's against OSHA regulations). The nurses don't seem to read the patients chart when given them medications. They did that to my mom several times. The communication between them is non existing . my mom has heart problems and she is yet waiting for the cardiologist to come and see her. The administrations as well as the charge nurses have no clue of what they are doing . I will NEVER EVER take her there again.

First of all, my sincerest gratitude to my super special day nurse Samara from Surgery 6 floor Skolnik tower for truly doing a beautiful job taking care of me, she has a fantastic disposition and is an excellent nurse. Also Juliana who was my night nurse who was incredible and sweet as well as being truly professional and so personable! o f course the nursing assistants who both were wonderful, Yolanda on my second night was so respectful of my request not to be disturbed on my second night to do vitals and we agreed I d call her when I m up. I hadn t slept in two nights and needed that.
I cannot close without mentioning my super wonderful surgeon Dr.,Joshi who has such a kindness and gentleness about him , & of course he is an excellent surgeon!!!! He also truly cares so well for his patients. Thank you all! I can t forget to mention the Resident team , specifically Dr. Neiber who came to rescue and figured out the best way to help me with the right meds for the pain. As well as , Dr. Andre Coombs, Chief resident, who helped explain things to me that made me feel better.
Shout out to all kitchen staff! Thank you to all who helped me get through this challenging time!
I cannot leave out the pre-op and post-op team!!Id like to explain why no five stars. On my first night unfortunately the night resident didn t help me at all for a solution to other pain meds despite my low heart rate which was why they stopped my IV Med which Dr. Joshi specifically told them that I must have my meds iv or Im and not oral due to my history.

Before I tell you everything bad about my experien...
Before I tell you everything bad about my experience. I want to say the ICU nurses are phenomenal.
I made a formal complaint last year regarding the improper reading of a Petscan that was performed at your hospital. I subsequently recieved a response that was completely inadequate and inaccurate. The response claimed that nothing was in error. Upon receipt I spoke to the head of your radiology department. Who admitted that the suv4 max of the hilar lymph node should of been noted as this is a dangerous sign as it relates to the 7mm nodule that was found in my lung during a routine low dose scan. What's more the prior ct scan reading had the size inaccurately at 8mm.
More recently in October 2017, I went to your emergency room due to numbness in my hand upon waking up one morning. The young attending physician said to me that he strongly suggested I accept a TPA infusion as "there could be no other explanation for my symptoms". Based on his recommendation I was given the TPA infusion. Thankfully no stroke occurred. However, the TPA is a very dangerous drug with significant potential ramifications and was not warranted.
I then was admitted to ICU and had a battery of scans. The reports continuously had erroneous remarks regarding a unruptered aneurysm in the basil tip artery of my brain that never was. It is incredible that your hospital cannot accurately read scans again.
Upon my release from the hospital several days after my admittance,I called my brother in law who practices medicine. He ordered a mri of my cervical spine and said that he suspected that was the cause of my numbness in my hand and said it was completely ridiculous for your hospital to administer TPA with the complaining symptoms I was having.
The cervical MRi clearly showed I had stenosis and myopathy with significant cord compression from c2 through c7. That was definately the cause of my numbness. I have since had surgery. Had I failed to go elsewhere I could of been crippled within months according to three spine surgeons. Your hospital misdiagnosed me and failed to act in a proper manner. Nobody had even considered the obvious?
I find these errors to be dangerous and egregious to the community. Your continued inadequate diagnostic and administration of dangerous drugs cannot be limited to my experiences alone. It is very likely you are the cause of many injuries and deaths.
The only other time I went there to ER I was experiencing elevated blood pressure 180 plus over 100 when I never exceeded 130 over 80 before following a real bad virus infection and a real bad reaction to a statin drug for cholesterol started a week earlier (that likely caused my sarcoidosis). The attending handed my a valium and told to go home . No scan of the lungs that was hurting, no antibiotic. It was downright criminal.
I expect your administration to review my events and take appropriate measures to improve your delivery of healthcare. If I don't receive an adequate response I will take whatever measures necessary to ensure that you are forced to review and improve your services to the community

This has to be the best hospital ever. I have been going here for years. All of my doctors are located on campus and they are the best doctors. I started with my primary doctor here 20 years ago. I have had 3 surgery's here and treated so well. I don't know if I could have done such a review without getting sick and stuck in Broward Medical for a week. I am sure Broward Medical is a good hospital and they made me better, but it is the little things that make Mt Sinai so great. The cleanliness. The knowledge of all who surrounded me. The nicest workers. The workers who were proud to be part of Mount Sinai. The doctors who were so caring and just wonderful. I LOVE MOUNT SINAI. Really, I would not go anywhere else. Truly a wonderful hospital. The new surgical wing is awesome!

Obviously no one from the Miami Herald has ever been patient at Jackson Mess of a Memorial Hospital ! Mt Sinai v Jackson Not even in the same league, with Mt Sinai being top class.

Good afternoon.
Good afternoon.
We want to record the Magnificent attention received from March 15, 2019, until the last day of stay at Mount Sinai Medical Center. From the reception, through the professional hands of Dr. Steve Xayda and his team, the attention of very professional and extremely kind nurses, configure our full satisfaction and we give thanks to God for such good results.

We are very disappointed about the hospital this time. My mother was admitted to the emergence room last Saturday because of a really bad back pain. She is a 83 years old. She stayed in the hospital 4 days. Because of COVID we couldn t be with her in her room . At the time of discharge we ( my sister and I) were very surprised to see her outraged . After we asked her about , she claims that the people that was supposed to take care of her (room assistants) did not do it .and that she more than ones was mistreated by them. This happed on the 6 floor during her last day ,before her discharge. We believe that lack of supervision has this very unfortunate situation happen. And being our mother an elderly person we think that this should be look into so doesn t happen again to anyone.
If more information is needed please contact us through this message or la1198@yahoo.com

I was here recently for a cardiac catheterization. Unfortunately I experienced a delay in my procedure time due to having to be tested for COVID-19. A two hour wait for results before getting admitted. That is certainly forgivable. During prep, I was experiencing panic and anxiety and these issues were addressed with medication immediately once I spoke up. My cardiologist and surgeon, Dr Juan Londono came out to speak with me before the procedure to help answer my questions and calmed my fear. The procedure went very well and I was kept comfortable with conscious sedation. My recovery nurse, Veronica, also deserves a special merit for her warm and caring bedside manner. From there I was brought to a private room, a beautiful unit in the new tower that's very modern with a great view. My new nurse was very friendly and got me settled and I spent the night. Food was delivered right in schedule and was fine. Room attendants that came in to clean or check vitals were all pleasant. As I went in to day two, information was hard to come by, and I had to inquire why I had not been given a discharge yet. Once I did, several people executed it promptly. I did feel I should have had a visit from someone on the surgical team to explain what had been learned from this procedure, but I understand that I will know more when I speak to my doctor this week. All in all, an excellent experience, and I'm very grateful to Dr Londono for his skill and care.

If I could give it zero stars I would. My sister was 15 days ago infarction and making it a catheterization pierced a valve and collapse. She was grave and thank God it was improving. The cardiologist told him that happened to him two years had passed and it is a lie because three-quarters where she was my sister was a gentleman in the same hospital had happened the same thing exactly one year ago and was now back in the hospital after a year. My sister and I improve sent home for treatment and three days later had to return. he did not indicate the anticoagulant and my sister currently have a blood clot in his heart and two lungs. Very nice hospital. Nurses many of them very attentive. But I'm speechless and very concerned about the health of my Herma a strong young woman. I regret very much because the attention of many doctors and nurses were very good quality and very human concern. The hospital has a quick and very good condition attention. But this is my feeling. My sister is alive miracle and still must go to the lounge and could not take her to not be at risk. I wish and my sister would run with the same fate of those who today put good reviews because I really am very sorry to give bad reference and I'm very concerned with the health of my sister

ER Doctors have absolutely know idea the necessary dosage of medication they are prescribing to patients. They don t listen to the patient and attend to their needs as well. It is all a script. The customer service at the check-in was one of the most inconsiderate front desk employees I ve ever encountered. The lady acted annoyed by having to do her job. Absolute embarrassment to the health care industry. Do not go to this 1950 s Hospital.

If you're seriously disturbed, homeless or homicid...
If you're seriously disturbed, homeless or homicidal, I can safely say, this is not such a bad psych unit in which to stay. The doctor's are excellent. The rooms - eh! And the food is constipating.
But you're kept so high on drug cocktails, that you'll think you're on Space Mountain doing loop-de-loop's in a Drug Disneyworld.
The staff is mostly dismissive and condescending. There are a very, very few exceptions, though. As mentioned, however, you'll be so high all the time, it's a miracle if you'll be able to recant the color of the paint on the walls once you're released.
They do have compassionate care. Meaning that if you have the "wrong" insurance or "no insurance", they don't kick you to the curb. You can't say that about any other hospital in Dade or Broward county except for Jackson Memorial.
And Jackson is strictly for those who think they're Christ or Hitler or some other historical figure back to save or punish the Earth. Or so I've heard. Stay away at all costs.
Bottom line, Mount Sinai psych unit is a place, albeit uncomfortable as hell, to sleep. It's up one notch from a park bench. Safer? Not really. So stay in your room.
You're also given VIP treatment commensurate to every tooth that's missing from your mouth. So if you don't have any, I suggest eating a lot of apple sauce and peanut butter.
It's definitely NOT SUITABLE FOR ADOLESCENTS. So all you psychotic father's who want to teach their kid's to not smoke pot at home - send them to Aventura. Although, there, you are risking their lives - literally. Murders of patients are not allegories, but real and recent truths. The staff at Aventura don't check on the patients as much as the staff at Mount Sinai.
But then again, sex in the bathroom of the psych ward at Mount Sinai is common. Gay, straight, bi-sexual. I saw everything and anything. Even inter-racial sex. Transgender's are especially welcome.
But if getting high all day and watching cable television is your thing, give Mount Sinai a whirl. As long as you're over 25 or 30. If you want luxury skip this place and go to Aventura, but be prepared for second rate psychiatrists.
There are plenty of detox and rehab places for the more sane in Dade county and Broward to visit. I suggest you do so.
But if you are suffering from serious mental illness, this is a GO TO hospital. I do recommend it for those type of cases. If you just need a break from life, book a flight to Hawaii or find one of tens of millions luxurious rehabs and detox centers with dual diagnoses to check into, first. This is NOT the place for the mildly disturbed.

Mt. Sinai is a good hospital but the emergency room sometimes is taxing. I waited three hours for a psych bed. When I finally got up there they had quite a few empties. They insisted I have a chest x-ray. I was concerned as I had a few radiated X-rays and was concerned but they said don't worry. But overall it was a good experience. I must say that their staff was pretty nice but they wouldn't let me drink. I can't remember why but overall I give it four stars. Oh one last thing don't bring needs from home. They desperately need a locked clothes for anything you have brought from home. All and all I give it four stars.

I was there 2 days ago for treatment. I have never regretted in my life and even felt like committing suicide after attending this hospital. The staff are so horrible, animalistic, inhumane and lacks empathy. There is no patient to doctor or patient to nurse privacy in this hospital. I had a swelling in my private part and once the doctor saw it, he said I needed an antibiotic shot. Later on,I heard a female nurse whispering to another female colleague my condition. Before you know it, three other female employees came in just to see my face. One of them was not even a nurse hence acted like she wanted to measure my temperature yet my temperature was already taken. They started speaking in Spanish inside my room. Before you know it another staff came just to look at who I was because the information was spreading like fire. I felt like i wanted to leave but stayed to get my shot. While i was being given my injection on my buttocks, three other employees stood in the room just looking at me taking off my pants for injection. At first, i even told the doctor that i needed some privacy hence wanted to talk to him behind closed doors. The worst part came when i was leaving. The moment i opened the door, there were almost if not more than ten staff standing there waiting to see my face or just look at me. They all stared at me while whispering some words. I felt like flying. I would rather die than to come here again. My privacy was invaded and I am thinking about taking the necessary actions. I do not want anyone to go through what i went through. No patient's business should be exposed the way my business was exposed. I am talking to lawyers and soon you will receive a letter from one of my lawyers. I think because i am a black man, they thought i was naive and do not know my rights. I do not know how they are still employed in that profession. I see a lot of people giving them five stars and this makes me to be perplexed even more. Could it be a race thing? I never wanted to bring it but it seems like it could have played a role in the manner that I was mishandled and my rights violated.

I'm so grateful to the people at Mount Sinai! They were quick and efficient. They were so nice and attentive. I went in with food poisoning (pretty standard / low priority on the emergency scale) and they were just so incredibly accommodating. They didn't take for granted for a moment that it could be something else; dotted all their i's and crossed all their t's. I only wish I could remember my nurses' , Doctors' , and other support personnels' names so I could write them a thank you card. I'm so grateful!! I remember Luanna because the name is close to home! So shout out to you ma'am!! You guys rock! Thank you for everything!

Staff members are great. Doctor/patient experience is exceptional. However, wait time can be unnecessarily long. Waited almost an hour just to get through the door.

I am getting crank phone calls from Mount Sinai. I feel like I'm being harrassed by this malfunctioning voicemail system. I live 4 states away and I have never in my life been anywhere near Mt. Sinai Medical Center. They clearly got my personal mobile number by mistake. I've been stuck on hold for 20 minutes trying to get off of their calling list. This is so annoying!

Great hospital & staff. The Doctors are excellent.Their cancer center is top notch. Been treated there off & on for years. I would recommend them over any Hospital in South Florida. I also want to add that Doctor Pizzolato is excellent oncology doctor. Also Doctor Alan Nieder is an excellent urologist.

I came into the Aventura ER dying the beginning of thanksgiving week. I have stomach cancer and had severe internal bleeding. I needed an immediate blood transfusion. Once I was somewhat stabilized I was transferred to the main hospital in Miami beach. The Doctors and team at both facilities did everything right away and gave me the best care I ever had in a hospital. The only issue I had was when first night shift came a new doctor without much experience requested a catheter placed in me which was very unnecessary. It was shortly later removed and he was reprimanded by my main doctor, I never saw that new doctor again and I was fine. All of the main doctors and nurses that took care of me preformed in a very professional manner and did so with care, kindness, and understanding. They were beyond awesome! The continued care I received while I was recovering was very professional and they continue to monitor my status as an outpatient. I will forever be thankful of the mount Sinai team for saving my life!

Extremely unprofessional support staff. Doctors and nurses are good at what they do, it's the support folks that are unprofessional. Rude, inappropriate comments made (I will not give details here). Left alone in an MRI room at 11:30 at night because staff decided her shift was over and it was time to go home. Called today to talk to patient relations about my experience and to inform them and was discounted. Was told that they would investigate and see if other staff could support my experience and THEN take any action to education the staff. This hospital has a problem with professionalism and empathy. I'll seek care elsewhere moving forward. 2 stars rather than 1 because the doctors and nurses I dealt with are good.

Came in emergency room at 6 am and. And it now 7 pm 13 hours waiting for appendix surgery. Nurse was ok. Other than that how can they make u wait in pain for 13 hours and on top of that they dont let you know when the actual surgery will take place. They just keep saying soon. 13 hours later. Is this united states or some banana republic.
