Horrible experience as a tenant
The sales team was great in showing me rental properties and very efficient in the application process. However, the experience during the tenancy was horrible.
1. Requesting maintenance for an item, the property manager was hostile! She immediately accused me of damaging the item and said that I need to pay for it. The item at the end being fixed under warranty.
2. Upon ending the tenancy, the property manager was oppressive, threatening to go to VCAT if I didn't agree to pay for overpriced cleaning and maintenance expenses. At the end, VCAT ordered that I only needed to pay 15% of the amount the property manager demanded. It took me a month to get my bond back.
Basically, you are no longer their customers once you signed up for a lease but someone they can bully. No respect to tenants at all. Very unprofessional.

Excellent concierge. I have been living here for almost a year and often travel - leaving the apartment vacant.
On one of my recent trips, after a 22hour flight from Paris, I came to an apartment without any form of necessities. I had no wifi, my local number had been held and electricity was not available.
It was during this time when I approached he concierge to help me out. I was thankful that Lisa Micelotta was around. Due to the jet lag and everything that was going on, I broke down. Lisa was so kind as to come talk to me and clam me down, moreover she let me use her personal phone to make the relevant calls to restore everything back.
I will be forever thankful for her help that day, and also, it is a great pleasure to see her in the mornings as she never fails to greet you in a warm and genuine way.

Previous leasing agent was not able to lease my apartment out for 2 weeks (those two weeks consider to be hot in leasing market), while MICM able to make it happen after they take my apartment over (when market is relatively quiet). From a buyer's perspective these guys are the pits (Southbank). They are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to withholding sold prices when it suits them. 9/10 results have no price on them - got something to hide? Other CBD agencies are happy to publish most of their results. No matter - I will check RPData using my broker and find out anyway.

I'd called Sarah at MICM to assist me in leasing out my 2-bedroom/1-bathroom/1-carpark property in Southbank. I had been living here and was moving out.
During my initial phone conversation with her, I provided Sarah with details on when it was going to become available, and the lead-up of activities to the property becoming vacant.
Sarah came prepared to our first meeting, outlining what MICM's strategy would be to lease my property. She listened carefully to gain an understanding of what was important to me in a tenant as a landlord. She also set out expectations on what the current market commanded, and offered attracted options on promoting my property so that it gained sufficient visibility among potential renters.
She also observed that I would require support to have the apartment cleaned and made suitable for presenting to prospective tenants, and made arrangements to have cleaners come in within minutes of my movers having moved out the last piece of furniture, while being personally present to handle the handover of keys.
The property was ready to be viewed within hours of me having vacated it. Within 10 days, and three open-for-inspection sessions, she had secured a tenant and had a lease signed. I couldn't have asked for more support and a better outcome!
I have a love hate with landlords, but recently listed my property with MICM and Robert Alacqua, the property manager has been a revelation... genuinely above and beyond, including supporting tricky removals and finding great tenants while I am abroad... I would have been happy with core service, but it has genuinely shocked me how far MICM has gone to great lengths to make managing my property simple, effective and lowest cost. Never publicly reviewed anything, good or bad, but felt strongly they deserved credit.
Currently living at 618 Lonsdale Street. Concierges are great but the true shining star has to be Lisa. Best described as being a mother to the building and its residents, she's always there to assist anyone if they're in need of help. She greets everyone who passes by the desk which gives the building such a lovely, homely feel. Her attention to detail is spot on, and she actively asks if there are any issues in the apartments which she could help resolve. Our mother, who comes to visit us several times a year also thinks that Lisa is great and she's happy that there's someone to look out for us when she goes home. She's always willing to go the extra mile to make our living experience better. All I can say is you guys should give her a raise ;)

As an overseas investor, it is important to be able to rely on one's real estate agent to manage my property in another country. However, I found that this agency was unreliable in screening tennants, with problems aleeady faced in the first month of rental. They had mishandled a difficult tennant who had left significant damage on my property as well as unpaid rent. They had also not organised any prior rental insurance on my behalf. I found that they had poor knowledge with the rental situation in Victoria, Melbourne and this was particularly concerning for me as an overseas investor. I was thoroughly dissatisfied with thier service and management of my property.
I and my wife are extremely happy with the service provided by MICM Real Estate situated at 100 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands.
The staff is very professional, genuine, and always prepared to go a bit further to help their clients.

If MICM wish to continue with their business by turning their apartments into fake hotels I think they shouldn't complain about me doing the same thing. I own the property and paid their maintenance fee just to be told what to do with my property. It doesn't feel like I owned it after all. I can't even put anything on the balcony. The concierge staffs also seem to become more and more rude overtime. It's a concierge not a f-ing bouncer.
Jennifer Albanese was the MICM property manager for the apartment that I was renting out for a few years.
She was very patience and helpful while attending to maintenance issues during my tenure.

Initially couldn't even manage to locate the keys to the property I was interested in and listed incorrect inspection times on the net.
Ensured me that I'd be first in line and the first application put forward If I was the first to apply online without inspecting the property which I did.
After always having to initiate the contact and follow up on the keys and inspection time I finally manage to get through to inspect.
I had to follow up by email and phone to get a response on my application to then find that my application has been declined and when I ask why all they can say is landlords choice..even thought my application as supposed to be submitted first.
Finding a rental is frustrating enough let alone then having to deal with an incompetent agency.

I am an owner of one of the apartments MICM manage and their "deal" with origin energy is effectively costing me for hotwater i do not use. i have away for 2 months and yet have still been charged $9 per week. How can this be right?
A bit surprised to find quite a few negative comments here. I can't comment on the whole office, but my property manager Hans Fan is doing a great job. He always responded to my enquiries promptly and followed up with high standard services.
Used MICM to rent an apartment in the city this year.
Staff were overall friendly and accomodating. In particular, Max of the St. Kilda MICM office was especially helpful in securing a property for us. Without much time left to our move in date, Max went the extra mile to facilitate our inspection of the property, and communicated well throughout. Would highly recommend him.

Qiao was very easy to deal with, extremely responsive, and has an excellent knowledge of the Melbourne market. My unit located in Southbank was prepared for sale, with styling used to suit the market and prospective buyers. Qiao arranged everything, and made the preparation stress-free , right through to settlement. It sold in 2 weeks with a good price. She is hardworking and determined to find the buyer in any market condition.

It was the first time applying for my own lease in Melbourne, I spent at least one month doing inspections everywhere without successful and at the end... I was feeling exhausted and frustrated. Finally, I met Ricardo and Angelica from MICM, they support me and help me kindly and efficiently to find a beautiful place to live. All the process was easy and fast. My experience was excellent and I can recommend them very well.
There is open inspection today at Mackenzie St in the Melbourne CBD, we arrived 5 minutes before the inspection time and waited for another 10 minutes, no one showed up, we then called the HQ of MICM, we wanted a confirmation of the inspection whether the agent is coming in or not. He did not bother to help and wanted us to wait there till the open inspection session end, at 12:20 no one show up, this is a awful experience.

My uncle' property is managed by a MICM manager, the service becomes deteriorated. My uncle used to receive a statement regarding to repair or any expense associating with apartment, even under $250 limit. However, recently he did NOT receive any notice via email, and MICM has deducted the charges directly without informing him! Also, the current tenant has delayed to pay for rent, he feel less contactable with the manager since he always ask any updates. From my help of contracting a MICM manager, I can feel uncle didn't satisfy the arrangement, he is going to switch another agent!
I was keep posted of the whole progress, Jen work through outside normal hour which well accommodate to me who live in city 2 hours behind VIC time, there is instances where she respond my SMS at 10:51pm (12:51am VIC time).
The final sale price is slightly below initial expectations, but I trust Jen did her best given the current pandemic situation.
Overally, Jen is very professional & I would recommend her to everyone.

I was impressed with Qiao s professionalism. She always made herself available when I needed to contact her or meet her. She was very accommodating, letting me thoroughly inspect the property that I was interested in numerous times. She generally went out of her way to always make sure I was well taken care of and that things went smoothly. She did all this while being patient and friendly.
Buying property can be incredibly stressful, but the team at MICM helped remove some of the stress by giving me a smooth, professional experience.
The MICM staffs that I've came in contact with are all nice and lovely but the receptionist is just plain rude and not helpful at all. I called in to pay for some fees, she doesn't know who to direct me to. Her tone was impatience, asked me to contact my agent and hang up my call. You should probably retrain or rehire a new reception. The receptionist is the front face of the company and if the first impression given by them is at such low standard you probably wouldn't retain much of your client.
Life threatening experience . The building concierge directed people to break into my property and damaged my assets. No one apologised and the manager called me disturbing.
Previously I had thought my frustrations with MICM have been a unique case of a horrible property manager Joe Carpino, but with reading other people's reviews its evident MICM doesn't care about treating tenants with respect and only about getting as much money out of you as possible.
Stay away from MICM unless you want to be screwed over big time when you try and leave one of their properties.
I have dealt with April ( agent ) and Isabel ( receptionist). April is a very competent agent she was very responsive to our enquiries. Isabel was extremely helpful in settling one of our concerns. Overall I m quite happy with the service so far.
Concierge are very helpful and do a great job in our building at Southpoint. I had a small issue a while back, and when concierge weren't too sure, they called their manager Vince who came to the building and assisted me promptly and professional. Great follow up as well
I have never seen a real estate company so unresponsive to their customers. Dear readers, MICM can be your option since they have the monopoly, but should your last. Feel sorry for the company to hire property managers who hardly bothers to any of your enquiries. I've been a loyal tenant for 2 years, and now they've asked us to vacate immediately (since the owner is selling the property), without any concern about the current tenants. There's absolutely no response for our request to find us a new place. A great chance to look for new agents.

After roughly 8 failed applications on our own, we decided to consult with MICM (618 Lonsdale street). After talking to the lease consultants (Glenn and Nicholas) about how to strengthen our application, we were able to get our first preference just three hours after the inspection/application.
Honestly, these guys make the whole process so much easier. I feel I was foolish thinking I could just do this on my own, wasting so much time and energy on something that could be easily done with just some outside help.
Finding your perfect home can be quite draining and frustrating, especially after countless of rejections.
These guys can definitely help you avoid these frustrating experiences, and give you a nice confidence boost by strengthening your application

They brought people in for inspections without any notice AT ALL! Also made me pay 6 months rent in advance and told me this is the only way for an international student to rent a place in Australia. i shoud have sued them at that time!

Always proactive about offering help and exceedingly patient and professional communicating with anyone coming through the building, you can tell she takes pride in doing an excellent job every day. Took me ages to ask them remove the ads online. They didn t sell my property and I end authority, but they still have the ads online of property, so that when other agent s client search my property online will have their ads, which really annoying.

Faith had a lot of knowledge around the Southbank area, she had a very good clientele network, she is able to get me a few potential buyer in a very short time even without advertising campaign.
She always keep me inform during the sales and always reply my emails and messages promptly.

Several dodgy and fraudulent staff are working in this office that are attempting to overcharge their customers times and times with no rational reason. Their conduct is extremely poor and disoriented, and reflected some conning and dodgy charlatans who act as owners and owner representatives in their office. I advise future customers to not to waste their valuable money and time on these corrupt people in micm. They will hopelessly disappoint you from any future deal that you may intend to do with them, and make you regret the time and money you spent on them.

My experience with the agent Sarah from Whiteman st was not pleasant at all. I thought MICM being on of the top real estate agencies will have a good system of communication and professionalism, but unfortunately I am proven wrong by the way they have handled my application. On the inspection day, the agent was 10 minutes late and showed no sign of apology for making us (along with 10 other viewers) wait for that long in the cold outside.I should have stopped going any further but then I needed desperately to move in to something close to my wife's work, hence I put through the application and even after three working days no response from the girl. I made several phone calls to try to reach her but she would not answer or even call back. I called their City road office and after I have complained against her being so unprofessional with her communication, I got a call back from the operation manager, and I came to know that my application has been passed on to the landlord. Two days after, I got the notification through 1Form that my application has just been opened and being processed! Not until then, not a single email/phone call from the agent Sarah! Eventually after two more days I came to know through 1Form that my application did not go through. I rang her up and the reason I was told that the landlord did not want to go forward with my application. Anyway, I did get my other application approved within 24 hours with a smaller agency who had communicated with me even after hours and I am thousand times happier that I did not go with MICM!
Thank Jen for useful recommendations to help me sell my investment property in a short time. Yes, she did it! She is the most hard working agent I had even seen. Very impressed! I will ask Jen to help if I am thinking about selling again.
Lisa is a delight and a pleasure to deal with. I will miss her at 618 Lonsdale St (I was informed by Concierge that she had left recently which prompted me to post this review).
Customer Service will not be the same here without Lisa. Although due to Lisa's role in training her replacements I'm sure they will be fine.
To management: I really could see Lisa in a training or coaching role. Lisa has professionalism and the soft skills for this sort of position and they will most certainly learn from the best. If MICM hopes to continue delivering exceptional service - keep hold of your assets. I assure you, Lisa is just that. An asset.

The greatest relief for a customer is when you are provided with solutions whenever issues arises with the property that MICM is managing for us in Melbourne. When no immediate answer is available, the response is "i will look into it" and within 24 hours you get a response! Thank you Cheng Ung and Team!!
