Long waits on the phone only to be redirected to another long wait, ending in a voice messaging service which doesn't get you anywhere. Considering our property was broken into on more than one occasion, they don't have any due diligence or follow-up procedures in place or care to do so.

We rent an apartment with MICM at South Melbourne. The real estate agent is like a robot, she response without greeting, just doing the most basic service she could possibly provide, her name is Hema George. The leasing consultant Sophia Kaur is even worst, never reply email and try to arrange an open inspection while we are still at our last week, trying to repaint and clean the apartment. Lastly, the building manager at 28 Bank Street, always doing the minimum job. If anyone didnt like his or her job, please quit, don't cause suffering and pain to others. You are wasting your time and people's time.

I mentioned this with MICM, and as a result, they assigned the lovely Joe Carpino as my new property manager for my apartment in Melbourne CBD. Joe not only replies to every single email promptly he goes above and beyond what is expected as a property manager. He is courteous, thorough and cares about my property. I appreciate your help Joe, and it means a lot to have a manager like you that I can fully trust with the management of my property.

Would give less than one stars if I could.... Horrible unprofessional experience with MiCM as our agent. Still trying to resolve our lease agreement as they first said they supposedly 'lost' our original contract, when I asked why the lease end date had changed. Then scammed us into being tied into a lease for longer than we should have been as they never chased up the landlord who didn't sign our original lease.

The property manager's name is Joe Carpino and he is the rudest, least respectful agent I have encountered. All he seems to do is swindle tenants into paying as much additional money as he can get even by means that should not be legal.

Worst experience ever. A tenant living in one of their property apply to live in my condo. I Called MICM real estate to check the reference of a tenant. They refused to talked to me and hang-up on me. They are unprofessionnal, never saw a property manager that refuse to give reference regarding a tenant.

I sent the rental reference by email and once I called back the receptionnist hang-up on me a second time. it is not about the law in Australia, but respect.

I decided to not rent this tenant since I was not able to speak to somebody from your company. Also, going forward, I will not consider any tenant with a reference from your company.

Property managers are not trained or knowledgeable in residential tenancy laws. Tried charging me for maintenance that was the responsibility of builder. Refused to get aircon fixed over summer because it was under warranty and the builder was on xmas break. Generally unprofessional and rude.

I've never met a more arrogant rude bunch of useless agents in my life. They look down upon you because you are renting and act like they are better than you. Good luck trying to get them to call you back or respond to your Emails. The funny thing about these people, the apartment i tried to lease back in November in Southbank is still empty, which is $7800 of lost revenue to the landlord. All because these idiots treat you like dirt. The funny thing is i don't know why they think they are better than you, most the landlords who own these apartments are probably down 10% from there purchase cost, you are actually the smart one for renting and taking advantage of city life!

People's experiences with real estate are generally not fantastic as a general rule but having lived in 5 different properties across two different countries in the last 6 years, I can honestly say this is the worst service I have received. Do yourself a favor and avoid Micm.

Why?

Their prices are insanely high, the deposit is more than one months rent.

They have no idea how to communicate. They say one thing in an email and then claim to have said something completely different despite me having the email in front of me. They refuse to accept when they make a mistake and blame the tenant. An example of this was when I moved out, we asked if we were to steam clean the carpets ourselves, will that be sufficient and would we still need a receipt? - in response I was told that would be fine and that I don't need a receipt if I do it myself. A week after moving out, I get an enail complaining about the fact we didn't get professional carpet cleaners and didn't provide a receipt and Micm claimed to have never communicated that we didn't need to.

Throughout almost a years tenenacy, broken appliances such as the oven which was faulty since day one was promised to be repaired but they never sent anyone despite following up almost weekly. (I have 33 emails on the subject - who knows how many calls)

Almost 2 months after moving out and signing my bond claim for I have not yet received my bond. The property manager said they'd process the form and send it to the rtba the day after I sent it. I called the rtba and they said they never received a form. This means Micm never bothered to send it or forgot about it given they're about as organized as a group of drunken sailors trying to find their way around the amazon.

I've also had better conversations with my dog than with the staff on the phone as they are one rude and two barely speak English - and I'm usually very patient with internationals, being one myself - however if you have learned all the words to be rude and can't communicate simple instructions over the phone or email in the most basic form of the English language then perhaps Real Estate and customer service is not a job for you.

If you have Kelly Nguyen as your property manager or have anything at all to do with this incompetent sorry excuse for a real estate agent then please let me know so I can buy you a beer to get over it.

Stay away from Micm. Do not do business with them unless you want a brain hemorrhage as a result of pure frusration. Too bad I can't rate 0/5.

I would like to take sometime to recommend Alice Chan, of the MICM Victoria Point, docklands office. I had approached Alice with my requirements, and I found her very professional, transparent and thoroughly knowledgeable of the renting process. She was also mindful of the requirements of the client when she was recommending the available options for me.

I also found Alice as very courteous, knowledgeable and down to earth with a positive attitude. As it was the first time of me renting a property in Melbourne, she took time to explain me the entire process of renting a property in Victoria and even went ahead to give me some advices on the utilizing the power wisely. I would highly recommend Alice and MICM properties and I wish this message reaches the authorities who could reward Alice for the highly commendable job that she is doing!

Thanks so much to Milica for helping us work everything out so quickly and easily regarding a bond transfer. All instructions were very clear and friendly and the whole experience was very easeful.

I wished I'd done a little more research before us...

I wished I'd done a little more research before using MICM. They are all smiles and free coffee when you want to sign up but they try to intimidate and bully you when you finish the lease.

First was the moving out pack which suggested I NEED to use a professional cleaner (incorrect only a carpet cleaner), and they could helpfully put me in touch with one. I declined the offer.
When I returned the keys surprise surprise the found the apartment unsatisfactory, but once again they could helpfully just have it cleaned and send me the bill. All this was late Friday afternoon and despite trying to arrange it they were unable to facilitate access on the Saturday for me to confirm.

When I finally was able to access he property again it was evident several people had been through the property and things I know were clean were dirty again.
I inspected the claimed dirty items, and also cleaned some of the other things that were now dirty again as a measure of good faith.

Again at 6pm on a Thursday after the revisit they say there is still outstanding items and I need to have them fixed by Friday as they have a new tenant moving in. Poor Soul.
This is obviously impossible and once again, surprise, a professional cleaner can be arranged by them and they'll just send me the bill.

They were very quick to then threaten to take it to vCat unless I agreed to have a cleaner in of their choice and pay the corresponding bill.

Throughout this whole process they tried to intimidate me repeatedly unless I "just got it cleaned", and she also referred to the state of the apartment as disgusting and accused me of not cleaning it when I vacated. Both things that are far from the truth (unfortunately I cant post photos). All of the supposed cleaning issues are also further muddied by the fact both times was 3+ days between cleaning and inspection.

It almost seems like the path was inevitable and they go out of their way to intimidate you into just using their cleaners.

I will certainly never be using MICM again, and I recommend you don't either, unless you like being bullied into just handing over a blank cheque for fictitious costs.

I also just found out they aren't a member of REIV, this probably tells you all you need to know about their credibility.

I just wanted to post an online review to inform MICM and the general public of the great service that our property manager (Joe Carpino) has provided to us over the last 12+ months, especially in the last 6 months.

We have owned our property (U310/108 Dudley Street, West Melbourne) for over 5 years, and for that whole time MICM has been our property manager. Joe Carpino was appointed our property manager early last year (or possibly late 2015). Joe is always responding to our questions and requests promptly, and actually following up and taking an interest in our concerns whenever we have raised with him.

No other property manager from MICM (or any other real estate for that matter) has provided us with the same level of service that Joe has provided, and this is even more so over the last 6-8 months. When Joe took over our property he somewhat agreed that the unit and the tenants were possibly not managed well enough (by his standards) and this was evident in the condition of the unit at the last inspection that we attended with Joe and our previous tenants. When the tenants notified Joe of their intention to relocate earlier this year, Joe keep us in the loop with rectification works needed, quotes for these works, general cleaning requirements and possible bond issues. As owners, this is extremely important. We then decided to conduct renovations and a total refresh of the property which Joe assisted when he could and provided Body Corporate connections, information and guidance. The renovations were being completed whilst we were overseas and Joe kept us informed of progress, and even managed to source our current tenant to move in as soon as renovations were completed. Unfortunately the renovations took longer than expected but Joe used his property management skills and negotiated a new move in date with tenant whilst continuing to monitor the tradesmen s progress in the unit. This was invaluable to us being overseas and unable to communicate directly with tradesmen (only via messenger). This is the most memorable moment of our journey with Joe as our property manager, but Joe has always provided a professional and prompt service and it is an absolute pleasure to have him as our property manager.

If there is an employee of the month/year award Joe deserves this!!!

I wanted to let MICM and everyone know how much we have appreciated Joe's service and support, and that all MICM property management services should be modeled on his approach.

I wish I could leave zero stars. I have spent ages filling in the dreadful online form for a rental property. It is a form you cannot save, it differs from the hard copy form (it has different requirements?), and then when I go to submit the application it fails!!! I wasn't surprised this happened after reading other reviews here. All contacts with the leasing team at MICM have been very ordinary, they are disorganized and ill mannered - so I am taking the earlier reviewers advice and going elsewhere. Thanks for your honest reviews it does make a difference. I suspect the 5 star reviews are submitted by themselves.

Dealing with Jennifer, Matilda & Alvin at MICM is a total breeze. I inspected a fabulous apartment Saturday and submitted required documents same day. Monday approval. Tuesday documents. Thursday in! Looking forward to an equally great ongoing relationship! Well done MICM.

Satisfied with the quick arrangement for appliance maintenance, handled my requests quickly despite me writing furious emails through and forth to them, they handled it well professionally too. Especially when my property manager in-charged is not around, their co workers assisted and handled the situation well. Rest assured, they will be on their toes handling your situation quickly.

I would definitely recommend this reliable and efficient realtor to anyone who wants to get things and service done quickly. Also, of all the consultants I worked with at MICM, they are professional and very friendly. Keep up the good customer service, thats what we pay for!

One star is way too much for this dodgy real estate. Super rude staff and property managers. They are literally looking to make money (even 10, 20 up to 500 dollars and more) from ypu as a tenant while moving out. No manners and respect for the tenants. They do not release the bond and keep asking for more and more money until they can convince you to pay some part of that money. They make you frustrated and you will say, ok, just finish this and give my bond back.

My experience with MICM was extraordinary. Nicole Mesiti, helped us find the perfect home for us. She was generous with her time, and really listened to what we were after. Once we found a home we liked, there we requested a dishwasher so that it would complete the home and within 24 hrs it had been arranged. Even when we provided our termination notice, Nicole was attentive to all our needs such that our bond was arranged to be returned immediately. We are grateful to Nicole and MICM for making finding a home effortless and also leaving the home with peace of mind and a great relationship.

Never seen so many fake 5 star review in my life. I'm surprised that Google allows them to write fake reviews about themselves.

I tried applying for an apartment through these people and choose not to and went through a different Agency. I can tell you now the MICM staff are very rude and treat you like a dog. They think because you choose to rent that you're a peasant with no money, that your a second class citizen who is a baby and just wants to freeload in the apartment. I also heard they tried to withhold my friends bond because he left the cleaning products behind in the apartment by accident.

Jen is an outstanding agent who has incredible passion for her work and is very focused on achieving a positive outcome. Following my initial call she quickly provided an assessment on the market environment and was very proactive in guiding me in how to present the property including coordinating the necessary services to support the sales campaign. She provided regular updates on buyer inspections and managed to negotiate an excellent result during a challenging market environment. Her professionalism during the campaign was 1st class.

We were asked to fix things upon leaving that were clearly in the condition report that we submitted at the start, this obviously wasn't looked at before trying to get money from us.

Cary Thornton at MICM is the worst sales I had ever deal with. I m the vendor and I had never spoken to him ever since my property is listed. He promised to send me a vendor report every week after the open home. However, I had only received it for the first 2 weeks and he s uncontactable. I tried calling and sms him but he didnt get back to me. He only sent me another vendor report and asked me to reduce the advertising sales price which is way below the market price. This kind of service is unacceptable.

I have had 5+ property managers who never seem to remember anything the previous person had done and then require to do everything again. I have not been a tenant for about 8 months and I'm still dealing with issues because they can not get organised... Stay away if you can!!

Great customer service with friendly staff over the phone and email. Application procedures was fairly easy as documents required are done through MICM website and 1Form. Calls were received to ensure documents are submitted correctly, this ensures that your application process will not be further delayed.

Only minor issue is that they may take several days to reply your email. Would highly suggest to call them for any enquiries.

Overall, I am highly satisfied with their friendliness over the phone, they have provided a safe/worry free property applications.

I have dealt with Faith when I was trying to sell my property and I have to say, it has been such a pleasant journey throughout the whole process.

Faith was always very tentative, had lots of advice and information which was super helpful and most importantly she made things so easy for me. There was a small hiccup on my part (nothing to do with Faith) and she has been nothing but helpful and to be honest, she went above and beyond.

I wasn't expecting my property to sell so quickly but with her hard work, not only I have sold my place, it was settled in 2 weeks.

Thank you so much for your hard work and next time I'm thinking of purchasing some property, I will definitely go back to Faith.

I was new at Melbourne CBD and required a unit at short notice. MICM helps me to have 6-month lease at Flinders ST including power connection with Origin on the same day. I was able to move in on Saturday. Special thanks to Property Manager Mr. Joe Carpino. He was there for me on Weekend. He also managed all maintenance requests effectively, efficiently and within a reasonable time. I will definitely check with MICM for any property I might need to lease in future.

Poor service! Ashley Bugat would ignore emails days and days - took her 6 weeks to give us our bond back ($3,900 dollars) and even then made us pay a bill via them which we shouldn't have. Would not recommend at all!!! Say they have called but no missed calls on my mobile nor any direct emails to me! Avoid at all costs.

My apartment on City Road, Southbank was due to list just as COVID- 19 was beginning to affect Australia. Understandably I was nervous about how this would impact the market and considered postponing the listing. After speaking with Jackie however his knowledge of the area and the market convinced me this was the right time to sell. This has proved to be the right decision as the property was sold within 7 weeks and in the price band I expected. I would not hesitate to use Jackie Deng again should I be considering a selling a similar property.

Worst experience of my life. Paid a LOT more for an apartment with a large terrace and immediately regretted it as every single day it rained down cigarette butts, rubbish, water etc from residents above that completed burned and destroyed my outdoor furniture. Wrote a complaint to property manager that was ignored, complained again and was promised I would receive a response - nothing. Moved out, did everything asked of me (got professional cleaners, changed globes etc) and was told everything was in order and bond would be returned in full. After one week of hearing nothing contacted the office and was told they 'forgot' to send the form. Assured it was sent. It's now almost 3 weeks since I moved out and I still don't have my bond back!

Called MICM Southbank to inquire about rental property. Staff is very unprofessional. My call was kept on hold for 15 minutes. Not only that, call was forwarded 8 times from one person to another. They did not have any knowledge regarding property. What a shame. Worst team ever. MICM really needs to work on training their team.

Terrible services! Can you imagine traveling 30 mins to an Open Inspection that your agent forgot to bring key and told you to come back another time?! So, you decided to walk 15 mins to get keys from his colleague and walk another 15 minuets to the apartment only to find out they gave you wrong keys?!

Don't trust Kelly Nguyen. I walked away from a lease signing after being told different things. Applied for a 2 bedroom place, leasing consultant said anyone that I eventually get for the second room has to go on the lease for a fee of about $100. Before and during the lease signing I asked for only a 6 month lease since whoever I get for the other room will also need to go on there. Kelly (Property Manager) said we can approve them without them going on the lease and the owner is overseas so might not be able to get a response for 6 months instead of 12 months plus she probably won't accept 6. I walked away and went back to work without signing. Forwarded the email to Kelly from her leasing consultant saying all occupants have to go on the lease. Kelly wrote back straight away saying the owner is okay with 6 months but all occupants do have to go on the lease for a fee of $165, very different to what she told me an hour earlier when trying to get me to sign the lease. I withdrew my application due to dishonesty.

I got a call from an Air-Conditioner installer the next day saying they are at the property ready to install. Even if I had signed the lease this was a day before the commencement date of the lease. So unprofessional.

Update: it's funny that they write in comments that they will contact you today to sound like they care to potential clients but don't contact you. Your comments missed the point. Although, I disagree with you it wasn't the no subletting that stopped me from signing the contract. I can live with your excessive fee for doing almost nothing but I can't live with dishonesty to start a 6 month relationship.
