I applied for a property and submitted my application the next day, did a follow up with MICM as well, they said they have received the application but the leasing team was so inefficient that they never processed it, they skipped my application after doing continuos follow ups

I had applied through the MICM realestate website on Sunday, and MICM did not bother looking at the application and that was way before a application was approved for the property

The application you guys actually saw was my 3rd application, since your team was too lazy to actually do their work properly.

Ms Alice Murray is the most useless Agent anyone can have, she said she will send me some similar properties after accepting the fact that the mistake was made by MICM, but she dint do anything, horrible service

Absolutely disgraceful excuse for property manager...

Absolutely disgraceful excuse for property managers, continually could never get a response. It took months to have repairs completed and was just generally stressful when something went wrong as they never responded. Ashley would not return emails or phone calls once we vacated the property, it took around 5 weeks to get the bond back, even though I took the liberty to complete all the paperwork myself and send to her, even then she did not have the courtesy to even acknowledge she had received my emails. It's not worth the stress caused on a day to day basis to rent through them. Not a positive experience.

Jen is a very professional sales agent who never disappoints you. She is very responsible and detail-minded, keeps updating the market trends and discussing all the responses from potential buyers. She always sets a higher goal than you expected, trying to get the best interests for vendors. She is friendly, reliable and easy to communicate. I am grateful to have her to help through the sales process! I would definitely appoint her to be my sales consultant again and recommend her to any vendor.

I had a great experience renting from them, then a horrible experience checking out. While I paid rent till 17 March 2020, they moved my stuff to another apartment on 27 Feb 2020 without my consensus because 'our cleaner came in and found your things still there'. They could have rearranged the cleaner and charge me the extra, but they made an irresponsible and illegal move to touch my personal belongings. At the same time, the agent Evan Cai wrote me an email and threatened me of deducting from my bond if I damaged anything moving out from the apartment where they put my things.

1 day later, they wrote me another email with some photos of my apartment and asked to deduct from my bond. Reasons are: a wall chip which I believe they have caused while moving out my stuff; white marks on the shower ground as a result of normal showering. I cannot agree to any of these accusation and I want to warn people thinking of renting through MiCM whether to take showers in their propterties.

Tad Tkaczyk has been my property manager for more than two years now and he has been fantastic. Always easy to contact by phone or email, Tad has helped with any lease requests and queries quickly and with high attention to detail.

Well that was a nightmare.. The 'good' reviews are questionable, our experience is very consistent with the other 'not so good' stories.

Two months since we moved out, a date with Vcat, we finally have our bond back for a property that was leased without replacing carpets, whilst trying to force us to pay for carpet replacement or otherwise, 'money in their bank' type maneuver.

Over 10 years of leasing and not once had I experienced bond issues until now. What started off as one room requiring carpet cleaning, turned into two rooms a few weeks later with a threat of us being taken to Vcat, along with the added advice that not only will we lose, but we'll need to pay more.

We won 100%.

We didn't just win, the display by MICM representatives was beyond amateur. From not giving us relevant documents and allowing for the matter to be postponed (which we declined), to changing the amount owing to finding brand new stains, ultimately it was the whole leasing the property bit, whilst still demanding money for their 'loss,' which brought the whole thing to a swift close.

Along the journey, on several occasions we were reminded to pay unpaid bills and unpaid rent, each time an error in their accounting as our bills were always on time. I wonder how many people go ahead and pay these reminder notices without contest? The ATO will soon be wondering the same thing.. Even after we moved out and settled everything but bond, after receiving an email advising us of an extra $6 that we are free to collect for now overpaid rent, we still managed to receive another email and direct phone call asking for an unpaid rent amount totaling a third of the final price. Withdrawn. Again withdrawn. Nothing but headaches and even still, two days before going to court, we were contacted by a debt collection agency in regard to an unpaid bill! We were almost two months gone from the property at this stage. Again, immediately withdrawn.

Disgusting treatment, terrible account management, revolving door of agents, nothing could possibly ever entice me to come near this company again. I strongly suggest you take photos, keep all emails, and question any discrepancies that come your way.

One star is generous and forced, zero would be a closer representation.

Qiao Cai offered what I found a stunningly successful service. She explained her perception of the state of the market and her assessment of how successful she was likely to be in selling my property. She made no unrealistic claims and once I'd placed my property in her hands she moved rapidly and sold the property in less than three weeks from my first talking to her at a price much better than I had ever hoped. Throughout she fulfilled, what she said she would and could do and unlike so many never over promised and under delivered, indeed she did exactly the opposite. I am very grateful, very many thanks. David.

I currently live in 618 Lonsdale, and thought that I d take a couple of minutes to say how nice the common areas of the building are being kept. I d also like to praise the concierge staff, as they are very helpful in dealing with any minor issues. In particular I d like to thank Lisa Micelotta, who helped me to organise a locksmith when I recently locked myself out of my apartment.

Hans Fans and Rhiannon East in the sales division ...

Hans Fans and Rhiannon East in the sales division of MICM were great to work with, they helped me through a potentially painful transition from an apartment I was renting that was sold to another to ensure that I was not left without a place to stay. Hans even made the effort of going through the process of searching for apartments within my specification and found the one I have now moved to.

Laura Xuereb from the leasing team was assigned to my account without notification and she sent a lease extension offer to my previous employer s address when I have already notified the previous leasing manager that I have switched employers the answer I got from Laura was that I did not inform them of a change in mailing address because I have only informed them of a change in employment (I think it should be logical that if your mailing address was your work address that once you inform someone that you no longer work there that all mail correspondence should be through your residential address, BUT I might be wrong).

As a result of this, I was in a vulnerable position, on a month to month contract that would allow the owner of the property to issue a notice to vacate. Laura would later say she tried calling my phone and left voicemails and text messages - unfortunately there is no record of a voicemail or text message from her or a call from her office.

Unsurprisingly, the new owner of the property issued a notice to vacate. Hans and Rhiannon were the only redeeming factor through the whole process, they were apologetic for the mess up and ensured I was on the same page with them as they organised the property for sale. In the end, they helped me through the transition and found an apartment to ensure that I was looked after. I would recommend both Hans and Rhiannon unreservedly for helping to remedy a stressful situation.

MICM doesn't pass on important information to land...

MICM doesn't pass on important information to landlords. I offered 12 MONTHS RENT UP FRONT + bond and received a generic "sorry landlord has refused your application" reply.

How would you feel if you were the landlord - probably paying interest on loans/credit cards while MICM refuse a $25,000 cheque on your behalf?

I own two properties at the moment, and while renting I've always had my bond returned and have never defaulted on any payment.

Amazingly, I've been through this exact same situation before with MICM - they must have many landlords who want to risk non payment by tennants as MICM insist they don't want up front rent!

No courtesy or anything, just threaten loyal micm custoemrs with notice of eviction. this is the kind of standard to be expoected from MICM if youa re renting through them.

How can the concierge service be so inconsistent?

Lisa - gorgeous, friendly, bubbly, will always go the extra mile for you. It's almost as if 'customer service' is Lisa's middle and last name. I look at her and I smile. She is a 'role model' employee. Do whatever you can to keep her.

Male Day Time Concierge. For the purposes of this review I shall name him Peter - unfriendly, cold, untrusting, stiff. My partner lives in the building. Due to issues with the intercom and poor supply of elevators vs residents, I often (1 in 3 times) have trouble getting to the required level. It's annoying having to wait for a lift to then have to walk back to the intercom and repeat these steps all over again to no avail. You may ask Concierge for help but if Peter is on duty he will not let you up, apparently a policy. As a guest visiting, I already think poorly re: lift shortage and wait time at the lifts (poor design) but to be treated by Concierge as if I'm an intruder or someone who lives with 10 other people in a 2 bedroom apartment is despicable and insulting. End result - I have to call my partner/resident to come down to the foyer to let me up. Peter may be following a policy but this policy should not be imposed in a poorly designed apartment building. Mercifully 'Better Apartments' legislation in Victoria has been passed which will improve apartment design in the future, but in a nutshell re: customer service. Re-train Peter, although I fear he is a lost cause because you cannot train customer service. An inherent part of Concierge. He would be better suited working in Centrelink where customer service is shamefully not required.

5 stars for Lisa. 1 star for Peter.

I ve been a tenant of MICM or over 5 years amd I never had an issue.
The only reason I m giving 1 star is because all the good work that the property managers and all the employees has been taken away but I person in the last 6 months.
Before we had the property manager we had the last year approx we had a girl who was really really helpful and nice, she was communicating everything going on with the property (small changes, issues with the property, leaving for holidays) all the things that I would love to be notified as a tenant so if I have a problem or something someone else will give us a hand.
Everything was going really good until they decided to change the property manager (I believe the girl got promoted to a better position).
Then that s when everything started going down.
Let s call the property manager Wilson.
Wislon wasn t helping at all, every time we tried to reach him over the phone he NEVER picked up the phone and then when I told him that he wasn t taking my calls (in an email) he said that he doesn t pick up the phone.
We emailed him later about a big issue with mould we were getting in the ceiling of the apartment and no joke it took him maybe 2 months to send someone to fix it. In the meantime we were getting health problems because of that and even our clothes were getting full of mould as well.
We had a problem with the exhaust fan in the toilet and again it took him MORE THAN 2 MONTHS to send someone to replace it. Again, when I tried to reach him to ask him we did not get any sort of answer.
The problems go on and on and on. Honestly I RECOMMEND MICM but if your propert manager is this Guy (Wilson) make sure you change it before you get the same problems I got.
Hope MICM take a look at this and try giving the guy some customer service training and maybe a new phone as well.

I had just signed a lease with MiCM and told within weeks of moving in that the property was up for sale. If I had known this beforehand, I wouldn't have viewed the property. I feel as though I have been deceived with information. I now have people walking in and out of my apartment each week. I had no prior knowledge of the sale of this property before I moved in and now I have inspections twice a week. This is incredibly frustrating.

Will not be using them again. Rude, condecending people who were not interested in tenants at all. Accused us of having a pet dog when we didn't. When we told them we didn't have a dog they accused us of lying and demanded an immediate inspection. Told them they need to give notice of an inspection as per rental agreement (we have rights too!) and they said "Ah yes, so you can hide your dog!". Our estate agent was a very mean, vindictive and spiteful person.

I had initially paid for an apartment for a one year tenancy in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne through MICM agent. They ( Joe Carpino and Svenja ) were very quick and very professional in sorting the apartment paperwork. Unfortunately, had lost my job in a month's time and wasnt able to continue my stay in Melbourne. When contacting MICM ( Hema ), they totally understood my situation, empathized , spoke to the landlord who was kind enough to waive any penalties and within quick timeframes, I got back the total payment I made including initial bond amount and advance month's payment which was so critical for me given I was out of job. The human touch, empathy levels, professionalism and etiquette shown by Joe Carpino, Hema George and Svenja Gabrowski was amazing that I would recommend anyone and everyone in the melbourne central market looking for apartment agents to please contact MICM. You will not regret that decision. Thank you so much MICM from the bottom of my heart, you guys are great !! Cheers - Ram

I'm a previous tenant albeit only for a few weeks however dealing with Ferry Setiadi after my move out has been nothing short of stressful. He doesn't return emails or phone calls, he gave me an address to return the keys to which i couldn't even get in the building, then when i tried calling him to find out how to get in no answer & no return phone call. Its taken over a week to get any correspondence in regards to the bond return, i advised i was going overseas today & asked if everything could be finalized today before i left however he told me it will be fine for me to scan the form back even if I'm overseas, so i have to take time out of my holiday & find somewhere to access my emails, print off the form & then scan it back to them. Of all my years of renting Ive never had an agent that had been so hard to deal with. As a tenant i do NOT recommend working with Ferry

They are the worst property managers you will see ...

They are the worst property managers you will see anywhere in the world. We live in a 36 floor apartment managed by them, and at any given time one of the elevators will be broken. On an average, you need to plan for 15 minutes to wait for the elevator and get out of the building during peak hours. They have a gym, but most of the equipment is broken and no one bothers to fix them. They have a concierge who do not and cannot fix anything. When you complain to them, they request you to email the property manager directly and say no one at MICM listens to any complain from the concierge. People at their office are rude and do not care much for existing tenants. If I can give zero stars, I will but unfortunately I am forced to give them 1.

Update: September 3rd, 2016

So, finally the elevator was fixed last week. It was out of service for the entire month of August! After I posted the review here and on their Facebook page, I got regular updates from MICM. They have fixed everything that was broken in the gym and have replaced some of the equipment.

I have dealt with a number of Real Estate agents and many landlords in my time. I can very easily say that the worst by far is MICM.
In my experience there is not a single person that I have ever dealt with in this organisation that I could consider "helpful" or even, "decent".
They just lie to you and do their best to avoid assisting you in any way.
If you are tossing up between two propertys and one is managed by MICM, ALWAYS go the other option.
I cannot think of a single interaction that I would consider to be "easy" or a single time where they have been able to offer assisstance in any timely or meaningful way.

I was promised so much by this company but they delivered very little. They didn't seem to be very competent at selling a property and despite properties selling around me I never even got a seriously interested buyer. The sales person Melissa Teo told me that if I didn't sell I had no fee to pay but in the fine print of the contract of sale I see that I do have to pay. I should have read the fine print and avoided what I think was deception but may have been a miscommunication.

Update....
Since I gave a one star review a few months ago, the MICM company have made contact with me and rectified the situation. We have discussed the miscommunication and we have come to an arrangement about fees. I feel like for the first time my complaints have been given the attention they deserve and I feel confident that MICM are seeking to improve their service offer and are making the changes necessary to follow through on this objective. I'm sure others will have a different experience in the future.

Attended a viewing to find the property was completely different to the advert. The agent stated there were problems with their photos at the moment but this doesn't explain why the text was wrong as well. When looking through other adverts, some properties had photos and walkthroughs of completely different appartments on the same advert e.g. photos of a 1 bed apartment and a walkthrough of a 2 bed apartment all on the same advert.

The property was an investment property, that I had previously purchased while I am living and working overseas. I asked the platform to recommend someone who spoke Chinese/Mandarin, as I was busy with work and time difference and needed my parents whom dont speak English to participate in the process. I was also not able to come be in Australia for the transaction and needed all decisions and documentations to be handled online. Jeny was very professional in providing market information and professional advise in our property selling process, followed with detailed instructions on all the documentations needed to finalise the transaction (been overseas, documents needed a lot more than had I been in Australia) . All in all we can't be more happier with Jenny as our agent, I will and have been recommending her to friends and family who will require her services. Thankyou Jenny!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this real estate! I have never had such a breezy and quick-stress experience.
From the moment i had interest in a property with MCIM they showed me interest and care; super prompt and and professional.
even after not wanting the first property I looked that-Camilo was still very attentive and willing to go above and beyond to help me find my perfect apartment.
i went into the Southbank place rentals and within 24 hours I had found my apartment and was signing my papers and 3 days later I was moved in! NO HASSLES super easy and ALL the staff were super lovely and attentive.
My property manger Peter is also very attentive and will answer all my questions with care, very sweet and nice first impressions.

Moving in was also a breeze the concierge are all very lovely and will go above and beyond to help at ANYTIME. the loading bay is super big and the elevators can fit a 3 seater and 2 seater couch in ONE GO.

I m obsessed with Southbank place! you cannot get a better location with these kinds of facilities and service anywhere else in Southbank.

Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to Lisa who is the number one lady at Southbank Place, she is absolutely perfect for her job and does 11/10 with everything she does.
Instantly felt welcome and cared for, wonderful woman who will help you with anything you need.

The worst experience I have ever had with a letting agency. Linh Dang is quiet possibly the worst agent I ve ever had to deal with. Firstly at the start of summer when I had a 1mth old baby we got cockroaches in our apt from the vents/pipes in the building. I repeatedly asked for this to be fixed as I didn t want to have my baby around this. Nothing was done the last straw was when I seen cockroaches crawling on my baby s basket during a night feed. Only then did they decide to send someone out. Secondly we were sent water bills which were months old and forced to pay them with in a week, when we should aleast have a month to get the money together. Thirdly we had given our notice to move out, one Saturday morning we had a knock on the door (they had gotten in the security doors and up the secure elevator) there was at least 30 people waiting outside my apt door to come in and view the apt. We were given no notice that a viewing would be conducted. My personal space was violated. And Finally we paid for a full apartment clean including carpet clean which cost $450 in my opinion the cleaners left the apt spotless. The agent was not happy with the carpet so we got the cleaners in again to steam clean. She was still not happy. There were two faint stains on the entrance for this we had to pay $605 for a full carpet clean and stain removal in the whole apartment. Linh Dang is the most unprofessional, unreasonable and condescending agent I have ever had to deal with. I am so glad to be out from under MICM their communication with their tenants is awful and I will never recommend them or use them ever again.

We are working with Tad as tenants in a property which he is managing, and have found him to be hard-working and dedicated to sorting out all the required steps towards the commencement of a new tenancy.
Whilst there were a few mistakes in some forms that needed to be rectified, Tad was quick to do so and the process was completed in a timely manner.
Most importantly of all, he is always very polite and accommodating throughout the entire process - something I've not always experienced with Real Estate Agents.

The agents at the lease department are very rude and unprofessional. Came to inspect property 3011/151 city road which advertised as 12:20-1:50. We arrived at the property at 12:40 and rang the intercom downstairs but nobody answered. Called the agent and she told us nobody was in the apartment, and asked us to wait downstairs.

Waited 15min downstairs and rang the intercom again somebody finally opened the door. So we went upstairs and the young Asian agent was leaving. Asked her if we could inspect the property and she rejected in a rude manner, saying why you come now the inspection was already finished.

Told her we have been waiting downstairs the whole time and she was giving us cold faces and relunctant to show us the apartment. We finally got in to have a really quick look and found the apartment was in a really messy condition, rubbish everywhere on the ground.

Called the agent Lee Yong before re the same property and she was relunctant to arrange a seperate inspection time, hence we changed our schedule to make time for this Saturday inspection and had very unpleasant experiences.

Feel sorry for the landlords, if you ever wonder why your property is vacant for a long time - may be this is why. Wrong inspection time, rude agents, messy apartment that is not even ready for inspection.

Amish has been such a great help in getting us our apartment. She greeted us with a great big smile every time we saw her even though we annoyed her with many of our questions. Amish provided very good tips to help us secure the deal. We inspected the unit on Saturday and was awarded it on Tuesday. Very quick work. Rented with Tad and Ethan at MICM for 2 years. We had long-term temporary work visas and MICM understood that we did not rent in Australia before, unlike Nelson Alexander who gave us a hard time. Repairs at our place were prompt and they also replaced our drier when it didn't work. At the end of our tenancy our bond was returned to our bank account within a couple weeks of us moving out after filling out and scanning a form that we sent to Tad, which was very easy.

As a tenant, they were un responsive to any contact I made - I vacated the property, but was contacted constantly for repairs, and inspections even though i called and emailed weekly to be removed from the system! They also took over a month for a maintenance issue i reported. I would not want to do business with them again!

Absolutely terrible organization to deal with! Rental agents don't return calls & emails and have cost us a new property because of their total lack of professionalism.
In breaking an lease early, they try to take you for an absolute ride by charging ridiculous unwarranted fees and charges.

These guys are horrific. I even wonder if they use their own in house people to write the decent reviews for them. Be ware of using them as agents to sell, buy or rent. Lots of knives behind those smiles. Be careful buying any real estate from them. I think they work for Central Equity. They are all own by one owner trying to rip their clients off BIG TIME! Selling you inflated apartment prices, then you will be surprise, why the rent that comes in is no where close to what they say they can get, and your apartment keep falling in value. They wont look after you after they get your sale. High cost of maintaining their buildings, their own body corporation charges top dollar for doing nothing. They will make you sign management agreement to assign management back to them. You are overseas, they don't look after your tenants.They just take your money. They basically rip you off every angle you can imagine. and there is nothing you can do. a bunch of snakes!

Used MICM as a tenant at an apartment in West Melbourne and they were excellent. Our property manager was Kelly Nguyen and she was super-efficient and professional and in the one instance we needed an emergency repair she acted promptly and solved the issue as soon as possible.

I am very disappointed and outraged as to the treatment I received over the weekend. After getting locked out of my apartment, I managed to reach MICM's Lonsdale branch, where I was treated with so poorly.

Instead of getting any support or empathy, I was harshly interrogated by five staff members. I found no standard or reasonable procedures in place to support me as a tenant in a vulnerable situation, forget about humane treatment.

Although establishing my identity should've been easy, MICM's staff managed to make it an insensitive and painful process. Since my file contains my photo id, my wife's id, all our personal details including DOB, previous addresses, rent amount, etc. I'm convinced there are plenty of questions they could've asked to establish my identity, even without a physical id card.

Regardless, I was able to provide a soft copy of my Australian passport, demonstrate access to the registered mobile phone and email inbox. I was still treated as a foe by the five staff members who displayed an offensive and unfair pack behaviour.

In a non-standard procedure of establishing my identity, my privacy was breached. I agreed to show I had access to the registered email inbox. Still, I never gave consent for the staff to open private emails randomly. However, that's precisely what Ms Kim Foo did after she snatched my phone out of my hands.

On top of it, I was required to return the keys no later than the next day (Sunday). Despite my request for a reasonable agreement where I was soliciting to return the keys on Monday when I'm in the CBD, I was denied that possibility.

With patronising and suspicious attitude, Mr Deevesh Bundhoo (one of the five) claimed that MICM must have access to the property at all times may the need arise. I don't disagree with him. However, MICM has lost my keys five times in five years. During that time, they certainly didn't have access to the property, even when it was needed. Still, I was there always for my property managers whenever they needed another spare copy.

I have friends who have worked for MICM, and I know that you know you're simply a mess with the keys of the properties you manage. So, was it really necessary to push me with such urgency and rigidity?

If I could give MICM zero stars, I would. But the minimum is one. I don't think MICM is providing my landlord with fair value for money and they certainly didn't do much for me in time of need.

I have rarely ever felt more vulnerable and mistreated before.

I never feel compelled to write a negative review, however I can definitely say that renting from MICM was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had in my entire renting life.

They will not respond to emails unless it is to do with money and the first to threaten legal action...All before a lease was even signed! I signed a 12 month lease and as soon as the owner wanted to sell the property, the lease conveniently went 'missing' which means we had to leave the premises.

I completed the bond refund form 3 times with the same person who kept claiming it was never returned to them. Even though it was done in person at their own office...3 times.

Absolutely incompetent staff who have no clue what is going on in the business. At one point a staff member even told me that my letting agent didn't work there and never has.

Currently my husband and i we are living in 618 lonsdale street, this building is our home, so for us to get home and receive a warm greeting or a welcome as these are priceless.
All the concierges have been very friendly and helpful with us, but especially Lisa Micellota, who for us is awesome, she is so well educated and friendly like no one, Lisa greets and welcome everyone who passes by the desk which gives the building such a lovely, homely feel, she is always aware of the residents and help us with any queries.
Lisa thank you for showing us day by day how to work with passion and dedication, thanks for making us feel so comfortable in this place so far from home.

Our electrical stove top cracked where smoke was being emitted from the cracks...we waited over 3 months for it to be replaced. MICM constantly gave excuses with no urgency despite how dangerous it was. Our agent was very rude and could never be gotten a hold of...WE DO NOT RECOMMEND MICM. If we could rate 0 stars, we would.
