We ordered a Neff ceramic hob from Currys - T10B40...

We ordered a Neff ceramic hob from Currys - T10B40X2 - on 2 Jan 2015 because 2 rings had failed and it was clearly on its way out. 11 days later we were contacted by Currys delivery service saying that our choice of delivery dates was 19, 21 or 26 Jan. None of these dates were convenient so we asked if the hob could be delivered to my wife's business address. Answer NO. So we asked if it could be delivered to a Currys store for collection. Answer No again.

So, on 14 Jan we cancelled our order with Currys and re-ordered from MARKS ELECTRICAL. Yes, the hob was in stock. When would I like it to be delivered? Tomorrow? Certainly sir, we can deliver to your postcode tomorrow. The order arrived 24 hours after we placed it. I was given a 2 hour window so I did not have to wait in all day. The delivery men were really pleasant and helpful. The score is definitely Marks Electrical 1... Currys 0.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Marks Electrical. We got the hob we wanted at a price that was cheaper than Currys by a pound and best of all excellent service. 5 stars!

What a great company, I called late on Friday and it arrived Saturday. They were really helpful over the phone, on both the occasions I needed to chat to them, the delivery was within the suggested time and they were happy to deliver into the house and wait while we checked for any damage, which I'm happy to say there was none. All round great product and service. I'd highly recommend this company. Thanks so much.

Absolutely disastrous experience with these guys, wish I'd looked at the reviews first. Took a day off to receive fridge freezer - 30 minutes before the end of the delivery time they text me to say the drivers run out of hours.

Absolutely no care from the customer services department. Who just asked me to empathise that they delivered form the midlands and took zero responsibility. Spoke to the manager who was just as unhelpful and seemed to have no care that we had a food that would go off quoting there was nothing she could do as there's a 12hr standing period before you can use your new appliance.

The driver that redelivered sat told us it's a 3hr stand time & said he hadn't run out of hours on weds, in fact he was in the area but had no delivery for us. On top of that he was driving a 3.5 tail lift (no driver hours).

Wrote a letter to the CEO, no reply. Shocking service stay well clear unless you like a lottery.

Ordered a washing machine which arrived as planned. Installer couldn't install it and left my utility room in a flood with a leaky connection. Old machine wasnt taken away. Called a plumber who installed it with no problem after being told the connection was broken by the installer from markselectrical! Left me out of pocket! Customer service would only refund my installation charge no compensation for the inconvenience of having no washing machine for several days, cost of paying the plumber and disposing my old machine!! Wouldnt reccomend installation with these guys!

We are re-doing our kitchen as so over a couple of weeks I placed 3 orders for fridge, dishwasher, hobb, & 2 ovens. The service was first class and when on their web site there was a link that allowed them to email me a discount code.which was brilliant.
The deliveries were all as requested, and the delivery guys were prompt and courteous.
I will use them in the future and recommend them to family members.

Fridge freezer ordered November. It was out of stock, although this was not indicated on the website. I was promised an update in early December; it didn t come. I contacted customer services to be told it was still out of stock, despite still being advertised on the website for delivery in late December. I was then promised another update on 28 December. It didn t come. You can see a pattern developing here. I rang again and was told that the item was still out of stock, despite still being advertised on the website. I asked to be contacted on Monday 8 January, with a delivery date, and was assured I would be. Customer services didn t bother, not that I thought they would. The item is still on the website for delivery in 8-14 working days . Marks Electrical are cheap, but I d recommend you pay slightly more in order to do business with a more professional and competent outfit. I won t make the same mistake again.

Good range of products, decent prices, great customer services and delivery teams. I ordered an American-Style Fridge/Freezer without thinking about the size of the doors it would have to go through. A follow up pre-delivery advice email reminded me, after that I was able to easily delay the delivery for a significant time (two months, while we were having building work that opened up a space large enough to fit it through). When the guys arrived, they got in bright and early and, without fuss, squeezed the very large, very heavy box passed an awkwardly placed skip and around the back of the house. They then helped me make a stable path across boggy ground with some spare boards and lifted it into the house. All in all, very happy.

Miserable and rude delivery driver let the side down. 5 steep steps to the front of property but level rear access available. Driver not interested. Preferred to grumble and ask (rudely) for me to get my shoes on and help him. We all make choices in life. No point delivering ovens for a living and moaning about having to pick up ovens. Personally I can't be bothered with that type of person so would look elsewhere in future even if have to pay a bit more. Currys came later in the day with a dishwasher. Two man job, up the steps and done. No problem, no moaning.

If I could rate this company 0/5 stars then I would! The customer service you receive is absolutely appalling!!! I now wish I had shopped elsewhere and if my product wasn t already with DPD I would be cancelling my order. My advice is shop at John Lewis s or Dyson you get what you pay for!!!

The oven a Indesit ID5G00KMW/UK should have 2 ovens according to their website wet one has 1 and the fridge freezer a Hoover HCF5172WK claims to be frost free yet comes with instructions on how to defrost it. If we had know this at the time we would have gone for different items and i would have demanded a refund but we would then be with out any kind of oven or fridge.

I didn't hear anything for about a week, so I chased marks Electrical Up, I found out that they had reduced the price of the TV on their website, so it was cheaper than John lewis, and then told me it wasn't in stock at john lewis at that time.
I called John Lewis, very helpful (please use them in future) the agent told me they had never been out of stock of the TV or Sound Bar.
I have purchased a few items from Marks Electrical over the years, but I felt I had been conned this time.

Found a Hotpoint double oven online, ordered it, got an extra 10% off and free delivery.
Excellent service. Easy to order and pay.
Telephone call with timings the night before my chosen day.
Plus a half hour call from the delivery guys. Who were great!
Friendly, curtious and careful coming through to the kitchen.
Also told us about the company s service of taking away old appliances.
Will defiantly recommend to everyone and use again!

What a fantastic company to deal with. They deliver fast and bang on time. The price was the cheapest I could find. The person that I ordered the freezer on the phone with was really helpful and polite. The man that delivered was really nice and called me 30 mins before arrival and more incredibly for my house without help. Well done Marks Electrical surpassing expectations, where many others are failing.

UPDATE - despite them commenting on this post to contact them (which they have now deleted) I contacted them as they requested, by email and phone . Which was ignored on both counts. Don t be fooled by all the responses to reviews, it appears they spend more time doing that than actually dealing with the complaints. Rude and incompetent Company.
2nd Update: The Customer Service Manager did not contact me once. I tried calling / emailing on a daily basis for two weeks, same old story.

I phoned Marks to order a cooker. Just checked my phone bill: can you believe the utter cheapskates charge you to call them by using a premium number. Absolutely fuming. My partner also called them to discuss the order and has also been charged. In the end we didn't go ahead with the order.
Lesson to self: don't call any number beginning 084 or 087.
Very sharp practice, no wonder they put you on hold for as long as possible!

Be aware! You are purchasing B grade stock. The integrated dishwasher I purchased was used and had scratches on the control panel.

I immediately contacted Customer Services (within an hour of delivery) and agreed a discount on the price of the appliance. The discount was never paid back to me and when calling Customer Services again to find out when I could expect it, I was rudely told that they would have never offered any discount and implied that I was a liar. They promised to call me back after investigating but never did. I called again a few days later and got fobbed off with another I`ll check and call you back . That call back never came either. Finally I sent an email to the customer services email address, another waste of time: no response.

Don`t be fooled by the advertisements of Award Winning Service or Our Great Reviews I can only assume these are self-awarded and self-written and certainly do not reflect my experience of Marks Electrical.

Don't be tempted by their lower prices, what you save in cost, you'll more than pay for with problems after purchase. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
I purchased a number of appliances during their Black Friday sale event, and to date, over 3 weeks later, am still yet to receive any of what I ve purchased.
Their customer service is appalling, and completely ignore what you say, they to charge you additional fees at every opportunity, and their delivery team are downright rude.
At this point I doubt I ll ever receive my order.

This company seems to know nothing about customer service when things go wrong! Really annoyed as after moving into a new flat I booked to have my washer/dryer delivered from these guys. Got the confirmation email and everything. Then on the day of delivery I checked the tracking and it said it wasn't booked for delivery - I was told that due to my card details and delivery details not matching (due to being in a new flat) they had blocked the delivery. This took 5 mins to rectify, but then they couldn't deliver until 8 days later (I work 9-5 and they would only give an all day delivery appointment). They refused to rectify this by adding me onto a delivery the following 2 days when I could accept the delivery. They "apologised" and said they would look into why I hadn't received an automatic email to tell me the delivery had been stopped, but that still left me without a machine for another week and no better off. On top of that I think the whole complaint was handled very badly with an attitude of "well what do you want me to do about it?"

I carried out the transaction on line. Having decided on the model of gas cooker required, I compared the price with large and small merchandisers and Marks Electrical was most competative. After placing the order, they kept me well informed, advised me of the approximate delivery time to within 2 hrs, the name of the driver and that I'd be contacted 30 minutes prior to drop off. The delivery personnel were punctual, polite and most helpful. A very happy experience. I'll be very happy to trade with them in the future.

Wow!!! Where do I start.....AMAZING customer service throughout!
I ordered a tumble dryer from Mark's Electrical and it was delivered within less than 48 hours with a delivery date of my choice. Craig and Nick were the delivery men and they were very helpful and friendly, making sure they left no mess and packaging behind. Unfortunately the tumble dryer was faulty (manufacturer issue) and so I had to phone and request for a new one and a pick up of the faulty one. I spoke to a lady called Sarah who was very helpful and managed to arrange collection and delivery of the new one for the next day!! An amazing turn around.
My new tumble dryer has just been delivered by Shaun K and Gavin D, and once again these delivery men were very very helpful and friendly and even tested the tumble dryer with me to make sure it was working good. I have not received this high standard of customer service in many many years. It really was such a nice customer experience for me, as even though I had a few issues with the first tumble dryer, everything was sorted out so quickly and seamlessly. I HIGHLY recommend this company, and will definitely be buying all my electrical goods from here in the future.

Excellent and fast service...a day before we were due to host a birthday party barbeque our fridge freezer decides to pack up! Marks electrical were able to deliver very early in the morning of the party and pretty much saved our bacon! Communication is great, with a text message the night before confirming our timeslot and then a phone call from delivery drivers just prior to arriving. Would definatley use again.
