Great friendly experience with Harry and the folks...

Great friendly experience with Harry and the folks at Inchcape VW. Bought the car online without seeing it in person first and I was kept up to date with emails, videos and updates as to the car going through their checks. Harry went above and beyond to have an alloy wheel repaired to a standard he was happy with. On arrival o received a friendly greeting and the car was in first rate order for me to drive away. Very pleased overall.

Has a good deal on a Tiguan lease but just feel the after service let me down a little as the car had interior trim damage from new and it was 'fixed' rather than a full repair... i would have expected better to be honest, even for a lease car, as a customer you want 100% regardless.

In addition communication has not been as strong as other dealerships.

That said sales representatives have been great and not pushy!!

I thought that you might wish to hear my reflections from my first and quite possibly last visit to Inchcape VW Swindon.

Last Saturday I (I am looking to buy a used car) saw an Autotrader advert for a 1.6white Passat which fitted my price range and spec requirements. I duly telephoned and made an appointment with a salesman called Tony to test drive this actual vehicle yesterday at 9.00am.

The following three events happened;

1. Although I arrived suitably early at 08.45 and informed reception I was not welcomed by Tony until AFTER 09.20. Apparently another customer had arrived. A quick explanation by Tony to explain his lateness would have been courteous.
2. The vehicle in question WAS NOT on site and is apparently currently the car of another employees wife! My journey was therefore wasted. Given that I am a widowed father of two young boys I hardly have any free time, let alone time for follies of this nature.
3. The photographs of said car clearly show a rear badge with a 2.0 sign indicating a 2 litre engine. The written description stated a 1.6 engine. I questioned Tony about this anomaly and was shocked to receive the reply that it was 'one of those things'! Almost as if this is a normal occurrence. When pressed the car was revealed to actually be a 1.6 with a false badge being displayed. Extraordinary.
I am utterly staggered by this catalogue of events. Having never owned a VW in my life it seems unlikely that I will ever do so now.

Non existent customer service!
If you need help from Inchcape VW Swindon then forget it.
First occasion: my car, 1 year old Passat, broke down with gearbox failure and multiple other reported errors. After a frustrating 30 minutes trying everything to get it going again; it started. I called Inchcape VW and asked to bring it in for diagnosis. They said they couldn't see me for 4 weeks! Unbelievable. Second occasion: Not long after my second service I noticed the oil was low. Did they not put enough in, is it burning oil? ... I don't know. However, I thought I could call them as I was going to be driving by and get them to top it up and give an opinion. Well, it transpires that they couldn't spare anyone for the necessary 5 minutes.
I am never going back.

We have been there twice and have been very well welcomed by Tom Fry who was very professional and helped us a lot to find the car we wanted.
Even if we didn t buy there because of very special needs (left hand drive and others..) we were happy and had great advice and recommendations by this seller.

Rang to book a viewing on a used car over bank holiday weekend, as well as others in the locality. Arrived in Swindon from Cheltenham the next day, Sunday, as planned to find we could not test drive car as it had not gone through its checks, or repairs. Was explained that car would be ready by Tuesday for us to test drive, buy and drive away. Found out Tuesday car would not be ready to test drive after all until Thursday and not ready repaired until Friday. To be fair delivery of car was offered at this point. Lots of conversations around payment and drop off etc to find this morning the day of deliver the car was not even taxed. Awaiting delivery of vehicle and hope and trust it is fit for purpose as it s been a saga and all confidence in buying from a dealer 45 minutes away has been lost.

Excellent buying experience from start to finish. The sales person was exceptional. Extremely professional, very helpful and not at all pushy. He went out of his way to ensure I was 100% happy with all my chosen options (including multiple test drives) before I spec'd and ordered the vehicle. I was then kept fully up to date on the vehicles progress throughout it's build and transportation. It was a bit of a wait for delivery as it was a factory order, but this was explained from the beginning and I was given an estimated delivery date. The car finally turned up within a week of this estimated date, so I was very happy. I cannot recommend Inchcape VW Swindon enough if you are looking for a new VW. Steve is an absolute star... The self unveiling of the car in the showroom on collection day and the bottle of Champagne in the boot was the icing on the cake! Many, many thanks... Early days, but thoroughly enjoying the car so far!

My partner and i just picked up a T-rock for a great price accompanied with fantastic customer service from syed and stacy. Overall the process was very quick and we picked up the car the next day! Unfortunately the team was running slightly late with other customers so as a good will gesture they threw some fuel in the tank ! we would highly recommend walking through the door !

I took my vehicle for a service at VW Swindon and the customer service was fantastic throughout. Staff were friendly and couldn t do anymore to ensure everything ran smoothly. The social distancing was maintained by all staff members and the show room was extremely clean with staff using hand sanitation and cleaning surfaces regularly. Really good experience and I will definitely be using this dealership again.

All of the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Our main contact, Jansen, was especially helpful, very enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about the car which he sold us. He explained features very clearly, and was able to answer the many questions that we put to him.
The day after the sale, we discovered that the charging cable for our electric car, the e-up! was faulty. It was a great shock to realise that we could not charge our brand new car. This is not a criticism of the dealership - on the contrary - but it does reflect badly on VW quality control. However, Jansen responded very quickly to ensure that we had a replacement cable as soon as possible.

I had to do 2 jobs so far on my car. The first one was a major service and the other one was to change the timing belt and water pump since my water pump broke down.
I understand that I can get better deal perhaps in other garages however, I am very pleased with the level of customer service and the provided maintenance work. I dealt both times with a lovely lady called Jade Bunce. She is very helpful and will provide updates in timely manner. I do understand that sometimes updates are lost through the chain.
At the major service I paid a reasonable price, to get a full checklist report on my email and a video, and had to change tyres at a very reasonable price.
The water pump, timing belt situation was different. I broke down and took the car in for repair. I have been told it will be within 4 working days they will do the Job. Jade called to say there has been an issue on the lead-time on the water pumps and had to wait for 2 weeks. Anyway they had no courtesy car to provide but since they knew it will take a while the 3 rd working day they provided a 2019 Polo c.car for me. The job took 3 weeks eventually to be finished because Jade was away on holiday the second week and no other person would follow up to see what the status of the repair was i guess. You may pay more but I felt that I got the service i required in that difficult situation. I do get that other places and insurances may give you courtesy cars but you need to pay a yearly fee for that too! Thanks Jade and team

We were taken through the whole purchasing process by Aaron who made it such an enjoyable and trouble-free experience. His friendly and professional approach allowed us to go through all the finance and administrative stages of the purchase easily and efficiently. And he spared no effort to ensure that we were happy to handle the car at handover and then drive it away.

This VW car dealership is certainly one that puts high quality customer service high on its agenda.

Great experience from start to finish. My initial online enquiry was responded to promptly with a polite and helpful call that provided additional and useful information. A few days later, after checking out the competition, I was able to place a refundable deposit to hold the car I wanted pending a visit to inspect and test drive. The Inchcape team were brilliant - polite, respectful, helpful but not pushy and the receptionists always ensured that someone got back to me if someone was engaged. After a test drive and my decision to purchase, the team continued to surpass expectations with respect to quality of service through to the day that I collected my car which had been beautifully prepared inside and out. I've purchased many cars over the years but this stands out as the best car-purchase experience so far. Well done and a massive thank you to the Inchcape Swindon team from a very happy customer!

The Warranty appointment (that I had to book over 3 weeks in advance) cancelled via text message at 7pm the day before it was due in as they no longer had a loan car available. No alternative arrangements made / suggested to keep the appointment (or reschedule) at the time and no contact the following day to re-book / resolve this issue. I bought a used Ford Fiesta ST today and could not be happier. My first appointment was last Friday. The car had just come in and wasn't ready to view. I rung at 9am, explaining that I was only back home for the day and they had it ready for me before Midday. I was looked after by Nathan - he was particularly friendly and informative. Never in the time I was there did I feel pressured or obliged to take the car. The car was yet to be MOT'd so I came back today to take it for a full test drive. There were a few marks on the car/alloys that I had noticed on the first viewing, all of which had been refurbished to an unnoticeable standard, it had also been serviced and MOT'd in the few days since my last visit. The handover was today looked after by Micky. Again there was no pressure and the overall feel of the service was excellent. Really happy with my purchase and could not have asked for a smoother process throughout. Would recommend to anyone!

Syed Ali is quite possibly the best and most delightful second hand car salesman I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I hit gold on my first tentative call - he answered the phone. Not only did he go out of his way to find the perfect used car for me (tow hitch and a/t tyres) but he made sure everything was perfect for me (despite the fact the car was to tow horses and carry dogs!). A delight to deal with. Everyone else I have encountered at Inchape Have also been extremely helpful, especially Penny and James. My Touareg has had to go back twice for arbitrary reasons which have been sorted without question and each time it has been cleaned beautifully. They really do look after you - very highly recommended.

All staff very warm and welcoming and ready to assist if needed. Service department; you can see your car being worked on which is a great feature to have available and always an offer to wash your car. Fantastic customer service.

Would not recommend this dealership. Stay away! The customer service and the whole customer experience was awful. They sold my car which I reserved online and did not have the common courtesy to offer to return my deposit on the day I was told my car had been sold! What a disgrace! Would not want to deal with Harry Gandolfi-Miller again.

I went with my wife to collect an UP yesterday after it was delivered from manchester.although just over three years old it was in brilliant condition.two days from ordering to arrival at swindon.from start to finish the service we got from syed ali was 1st class.a great product knowledge and great customer service.nothing was too much trouble.the car was presented to us looking like new.fully explained and even a personal video of the car going from workshop to us leaving the dealership.this all done as a surprise and emailed to us.i am a natural sceptic but this level of service really astonished me and my wife.i must add too that we arranged a service plan as we wanted to continue with this level of care.our advisor penny haley did a super job and once again made us feel valued.well done

Must say that I had a great experience with Swindon Volkswagen. The whole experience was a pleasure to be involved with....even though I was not ready to buy a new vehicle on my initial visit, Gareth and the manager Adrian were in my eyes very truthful and had no hesitation in answering any question's that I had... This level of service ensured me that I would be buying from this garage. I would like to personally thank them both for there efforts and can say it wasn't the wrong decision to make my purchase through Swindon Volkswagen. Andy Lewis provided excellent customer service and support during my two visits to Inchcape! He didn t pressure me in to purchasing something that was unsuitable, and was honest and knowledgable when explaining VW products and services. I would recommend a visit to Andy if you re hoping to purchase a new VW. Unfortunately, the Senior Sales Executive, Aaron, was quite the opposite. Aaron didn t even address myself or my dad, who came with me to make the purchase, and was completely impersonal and rude. If I had dealt with him, I would not have purchased the car that I did. Thank you again, Andy!
