The sales person could not have been more helpful....

The sales person could not have been more helpful. My wife and I stayed at the Hilton hotel the previous night but found it impossible to cross the road to your premises. I was eventually forced to ask to be collected from the hotel which the sales person did willingly. I then had a problem with my bank due to anti scam precautions which necessitated a trip to a local branch.

Excellent dealership. Every member of the Inchcape Volkswagen Swindon team were really helpful in handling my purchase of a VW Polo from the initial enquiry through to reserving the car and preparing it for collection. The Polo was spotless inside and out and it is a great car to drive. Thank you to Craig and Gareth for being very helpful and answering all my questions and queries.

Didnt have promised company car ready, took ages t...

Didnt have promised company car ready, took ages to sort paperwork, dropped car in 1st thing and they didnt call to say it was ready till nearly 6pm. Had changed a wiper blade that was brand new, we had put the new one on ourselves the week before. Charged 40quid for said blades without having asked for our authorisation before doing that. Generally all a bit annoying.

Useless. Absolutely useless. I have visited for various things regularly for the past 8 years and never had better than a satisfactory experience. Most notable experiences are from May/June '13 - just after they took over the old Audi building. The original car I bought had a fault, a technician agreed. Went in for a day and came back with "Nothing wrong." Exercised my right to change the car and was told the service plan I bought just transfers over. Months later, I had the new car in a different dealer getting a service (chose to drive an extra 30min to them to avoid Swindon) and surprise, surprise, the service plan wasn't transferred over to the new car, so cue a 2 hour ordeal on the phone waiting for a call back that never came, then going into the place only to be asked "What do you want me to do about it?" The other dealership who were doing the service were not prepared to release the car until the service was paid for. It took me ranting and raving at Swindon to get them to call the other dealer and approve the payment. Now, 2 months later, my car is going in (to the other dealer) for a bit of minor warranty work and, loe and behold, I hear that Swindon still haven't sorted the service plan. Absolutely useless staff and some are quite obnoxious, despite their errors. One even said "You're welcome" to us as we left, as if he had somehow done something for us... he hadn't. The highlight of the visit? "I didn't call you because I had nothing to tell you." Even though he did. Please avoid this lot. Go elsewhere.

My parter and I went looking for a car for myself at the VW garage Swindon. We were seen by a guy called Gareth from the sales team who didn t really seem like he had any time for us...I was looking at a VW polo which he said was in mint condition, when he showed it to us, it had a stuffed alloy & a very odd smell too. He left us to have a look round but I was interested so I told him that I had rang my brother as I needed a second opinion. He rudely said that do I not trust him as he s a trades man, I said I didn t like the colour but he suggested that somethings gotta give, the colour or the price baring in mine he wanted me to spend 6 grand on this car. He was very unfriendly I would not recommend setting foot in there! Found a lovely car at another dealership with friendly service where I felt I could easily part with my money. Good service and even better car!

Booked car in for a major service and first time u...

Booked car in for a major service and first time using this dealer.

Will break it down my first encounter on enquiring about service felt I was looked at as being unable to pay and asked how I was going to pay for it which I answered by cash or debit card.

On my second encounter taking the car into dealership for service and due to traffic I was 10 mins late for which I apologised profusely and handed keys into hands of chap. Then I had to sit with someone else and again asked how I was going to pay for it this is ridiculous as I had already stated this on a previous visit.

They then went over the work to be carried out fair enough

I was directed to the tea coffee area to wait whilst car being serviced. The waiting area is a little cramped by the tea machine but drinks are free and they offer a mini taxi service if you need to go anywhere whilst waiting, nice touch.

The service carried out and the video feedback is excellent well done to the machanics and backroom staff you deserve 5 stars

Front of house please do not judge a book by its cover shame on you as thats how I felt when I walked in your showroom. This is why you have 3 stars.

First service. 2 services were included when we bought my daughter a Vw Polo. The service assistant, Penny was very friendly and efficient. A phone call a couple of hours later to say the car was ready. Nicely cleaned inside and out. All in all, as good as Audi and Mini have been in the past.

First class service.

If you want to buy a Volkswagen from the Swindon branch and you want it to be an easy, stress free and not to mention fast transaction then ask to speak to Aaron Woolford. I don't live anywhere near Swindon and yet it was still all very straight forward. The best bit was the vehicle was delivered for free.

I am over the moon with my Golf GTI and it is exactly as advertised (if anything the advert didn't do the car justice).

In summary a fantastic service and a brilliant car.

On Monday 29 June I suffered a flat tyre whilst driving to work which unfortunately ruined the tyre. I went to Inchcape as it was the nearest place to my work. The tyre was replaced within 30 minutes and the service from the receptionist was second to none!! She arranged for the work to be undertaken on trust as I do not take money to work and I was allowed to take the car away to go home and get my wallet; a rare and generous gesture indeed! The whole experience was extremely positive and my thanks to all staff involved. Please thank the lady from me (she was sitting under the "Express service" sign). The only thing I missed out on was the car wash as I had to get back to work. Thanks again

Arrived at 2.45pm. Greeted by a lady on reception. She advised sales staff I was here and would be 5 mins. It's now 3.30 and haven't been seen. Im off. No more loyalty to VW and this. Avoid at all costs.

I can t begin to thank Syed for all the advice and help I had buying my new Polo. I absolutely love my new car and I m so happy with it.

Unhappy with the service response. Airbag safety light on, recommending to get to service department immediately as car not safe to drive. 2 week quote from service department to even assess the problem. Told that due to the VW popularity they were very busy. The car is less than 2 years old!

We bought a new T-Roc from Inchcape and they couldn't have been more helpful. However after 2.5k miles the engine developed a fault and I spoke to service and they were not the slightest bit interested, they said it would be nearly a month before they could look at it and it wasn't really there problem. From what started out as a very professional relationship has turned into a terrible experience, very very poor! VW should be made aware of their lack of commitment to customers if a problem arise.

I brought my Golf R around 2.5 years ago from this dealer, since owning the car I ve had nothing but problems with there service department. I have had a lot of issues from my clutch to ecu issues, and the work carried out on the car was a poor standard. Today I went to drop my car in for a service and a factory recall had to be carried out. I arrived after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment to not be offered the standard of courtesy car I was promised and told there was no chance of recieving another golf or polo they only had and up! I complained to there service manager who doesn t have a clue! This was the final straw today I ve gone back to them time and time again and the service received just gets worse!! They just don t seem to care!

Excellent throughout, however a rough estimated time span of how long the car would be kept for prior to my visit would have been welcomed, I had to arrange on the fly for someone to pick me up, or I would have been stranded for a few hours. But overall still very pleased.

Really can't fault the service proceedure. Booking was confirmed, & the time taken was quicker that advertised. - And best of all it was free as my first two services were included in the purchase deal.

2nd service carried out Dec 17 with no problems. I needed help with updating maps on the Sat Nav. Technician come & spoke with me. It appears that as my Say Nav was fitted to the vehicle after manufacture, updating the maps is not straightforward. I supplied a copy of the Garman software which must be done before updating the maps. This requires the glove box removal to put the SD card in into the actual sat Nav casing. Inchape did update the software for me without charge, but I'll need to book the vehicle in again when I have obtained the Sat Nav SD card

Great service. Got an introduction to this dealer via Orange Wheels. They gave me the best price and got my car delivered in record time (11 weeks versus 20+ weeks from other dealers for a similar model). Queries were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Thoroughly recommended.

I had to return to have my Air Con checked to see if their were any leaks, which thankfully their weren't. I waited at the dealership while this was being carried out. It didn't take too long and I noticed my car had been cleaned before it was returned to me, which was nice. Staff friendly and helpful as always and a comfortable area in which to wait with tea and coffee available from a machine if desired.

Appalling. 4 months on, car still not fixed, paintwork ruined, by the 'professional' valeters, oil left low, engine management light left on after attempted fix, rude staff who are more interested in larking around with each other, no call backs, car used as a jukebox when being cleaned. Avoid like the plague.

Great service, friendly and helpful. Brought extended warranty when I purchased car which, I needed to use after water pump failed. I used their assistance app which was brilliant and my car was collected and replaced with courtesy car. Car was booked in for MOT and service the following week and although they were busy, they agreed to do this while they already had the car. Best dealership experience to date with these guys. Highly recommend.

A really interesting experience at this dealership . I would not recommend this dealership . Stay away . This is my version of the story .

The car I went to see had an incident . The first sign was that The frond head light cover was not firmly attached to the body if the car . I said this car had an incident and I was told we know nothing about it . I had to put the car up on the ramp to find out the damage . The work to repair the front wheel damage was so poor that the screws from the plastic Covers from one side were missing . You could lift the plastic covers and see the damage and repair work underneath. The engineer I had brought with me to inspect the car identified the damage because the door was not closing properly .This gave us the hint to inspect further.

I hope that this car does not end up with a poor soul that Will believe their story .

I am not sure how you report such stories officially. I have a video of the car in question .

Had a poor experience at this dealer, I was after a used golf, saw a couple of autotrader listed with high specs and a manually added text with that feature. When I turned up to test drive it, some features were not present.

When I sat down with the chap, was told there was absolutely no room for negotiation (despite the fact the car wasn't even as listed) and they didn't want to part exchange my car and told me to dump it at WBAC. Didnt feel like they were really after my business.

I've ended up in another group that sells VAG who was a bit more interested, who gave me a fair discount and part exchanged my car.

Great experience at the dealership... Sales team very knowledgeable, was looking for a used Polo for my sons first car and nothing was to much trouble and was offered various models that was within the budget I was looking to spend... Before leaving to consider further I was greeted by the sales manger Adrian who made time to introduce himself and thank me for my time and even said please use him as a point of contact if I should have a questions... I have no problem recommending the dealership and will be returning.

I dropped my son s Polo in for a cam belt & water pump renewal & while there asked for some other issues to be looked at if possible. A collection time was arranged & I was called half hour before to say everything was completed including the extras.
I would highly recommend Inchcape VW for their level of service.
( The car was also returned to me cleaned inside & out )

I have always owned Audi's, the buying side of the business was second to none, and you came away content. All of the staff, made you feel welcome. Volkswagen, you do get a quality car,but everything seemed to be to much trouble, with the finer points. A lot of time wasting. I will not mention name. Still at the end of the day, I finally got the car I wanted. But it's back to Audi for the next one

My 2006 Beetle went in Thursday 2nd August 2018 for the passenger doors central locking system to be repaired as the door completely deadlocked and stopped working. The booking line were very efficient and very helpful in organisation of booking a courtesy vehicle for the duration of the time my baby was in surgery (repairs)!!... I arrived on the day, was greeted and served by a lovely, warm welcoming service advisor, a young lady called Jayde who was absolutely AMAZING throughout my whole experience. I was very impressed with her service from start to finish; she was very communicative and expressed information when dropping my car off accurately - when it came to presenting me with the courtesy vehicle which was a lovely black new 18 played Polo SE I was even more impressed as she actually took the time to tell me how it all worked and how to use the Bluetooth headunit system, etc! (I m nearly old, so I don t have these luxuries in my little yellow 16V Luna Edition bug! - it s all standard CD player and near enough back to the dark ages haha!) the technicians also did a FANTASTIC job of getting my door all working and fire compliant with road safety laws again and I can now drive around not living on fear in case of the worst!!! Jayde, thank you so much for your superb service! I hope when I eventually come to purchasing another vehicle (hopefully a Polo GTI) I hope I have the same service I received here. Very impressed the car took only 6 hours to fix, we had the Polo SE booked for 3 days thinking my bug would take days to get the door open and potentially damaging it! Not the case at all! Thanks also to David Chamberlain! Great service. One VERY impressed/happy Beetle back to life!!! Kindest Thanks, Miss Moth :)

Staff at the dealership were helpful and friendly. We were able to negotiate a good deal on a new Golf (much better than our local dealers in South Wales). The car was delivered on time and as specified. The sales staff explained the various 'extras' such as finance/service packages etc. but were not pushy and respected our choice not to take them. Handover was an enjoyable experience - staff were very patient when our young terrier made a break for it and decided to run around the dealership. Think he wanted a job there. Would happily buy again from the team at Swindon

My experience purchasing a new Golf GTI was splendid. I had bought a personalised registration plate for my wife and wished to keep it secret from her until we arrived at the garage to collect the car.
The salesman had arranged to cover te car to hide the number plate until it was revealed.
It worked a treat.
The whole experience was professionally and politely handled and apart from handing over the money was very enjoyable. We were even presented with a bottle of champagne as I had been put to a little extra trouble in the process. This amply compensated.
