Really bad firm a complete joke, customer services never answer their call they tried to claim money from me when I am fully insured and it s the insurance company they need to deal with stay away from them I am in the process of filing a claim under the solicitors ombudsman

I had a very difficult legal situation having to do with rental property. We were in quite an unusual situation and I may have got a bit emotional at times. Actually, I DID get emotional, but the legal team at Lyons Davidson gave clear direction every step of the way, explained things succinctly so that I understood our position, and they were never rude or dismissive, even during my upsets. Through their consistent and professional manner, I soon grew confident of our legal position and we eventually gained repossession of the property. Appalling service- actually there was no service, I did all the chasing, these clowns just read a few emails. They gave a serious civil case to a trainee Solicitor to assess who had no clue of the case or unfortunately the law it concerned. Maybe a suitable firm for dealing with Parking tickets and the like but anything serious then possible need to look elsewhere.

Charged with a motoring offence and was assigned jess murphy. From the weeks before the case, to the day in court everything has been flawless. appalling customer service, never returned a single call, constantly had to push them to do anything and given "xyz is on holiday" as a reason why nothing was getting done. felt our case was given an absolute minimal amount of attention. 3 changes of the person dealing with the case over 10 months.absolutely no help whatsoever in the time we used their services. gave no advice worth anything. suspect you only ever deal with clerks. truly a massive waste of money. fortunately we won our case in the end but no thanks to these disinterested clowns.

My insurance company use this company and I would give them minus stars if I could they have messed so much up it would take to long to go through everything and I m sure it s not finished going wrong have you ever heard of solicitors that didn t pay the court fees needless to say I only found out it was cancelled this Tuesday 11 when my court hearing was the 13th Friday I rang court up to find out if there was disabled parking and the lady told me it had been cancelled because my solicitors hadn t paid court fees . I ve waited over a year for this they have let me down so much I m devastated I wish I was good with words.
Thank you, Andrew Williams for the mistakes you made to my belated wife's will, because of your bad advice, it has caused arguments within my immediate family and I have been denied access to my grandchildren. 15.5 years on and your company have still not rectified the mistakes. 1 star is to much to rate the companies incompetence!
I was involved in a road traffic accident at which I was at fault and had accepted the fact. My insurers appointed Lyons Davidson as my legal representation and my case was handled by Jess Murphy. From the outset I found her to be very polite, understanding and completely professional. She explained the situation and the relevant laws that affected my case in a way that was very easy for me to understand and answered my questions when required to my complete satisfaction. Overall, Jess took a very stressful and worrying time for myself, as I had never been to court or in trouble with the law before, and made it all that little bit easier and helped to calm my considerable worries. Although I pleaded and was found guilty by the court, I believe with Jess's and Lyons Davidsons help I received the best outcome that I could have possibly had. My recent experience with this firm has been terrible. They appear to have serious capacity and training issues. There are also questions around the competence of their staff. First time they have represented me, not impressed at all.
I am reliably informed that the amount they are claiming for is considerably less than others have received elsewhere with less injury treatment. I have a trainee representing me who takes 5 days to respond and there have been instances where I have had no reply. The claim for personal expenses is short because they submitted a figure whilst I was still receiving treatment, therefore when I submitted my final figure, they've told me i'm too late. This is completely ridiculous, surely you submit expenses at the end? Finally, they use an online system, which currently communicates my case is closed and I'll be receiving money. After calling, that is not the case, my case hasn't yet gone to court. You can send messages via their online portal but they have never responded once! I'd avoid as I'm sure you will find much much better. They haven't impressed me whatsoever. I'll be informing my insurer LV about my experience. Today i've tried calling them and there is no service. grrrr
I was involved in a rta in March 2018. The other party ran up the back of me on the motorway, then bombed off the slip road never to be seen again. My insurance paid out to replace my van and recommended Lyons Davison to chase the other party for damages and personal injury. A witness gave me what he thought was the reg and off to the police I went. After lots of palaver, eventually the police traced the other driver through cctv and passed the details over. The other driver has tried every trick in the book. Firstly flatly denying they were involved, then his insurance company said they didn't cover him at the time, then they said they did, now they claim it was my fault. I've constantly had to chase lyons davison about my case. They only just contacted the witness a month or so ago. He's since moved house and changed jobs, what with it being 18 MONTHS AGO. Bearing in mind the actions of the other driver, no one had the foresight or initiative to contact the witness there and then to preempt the claims that the other driver was bound to make. I mean he left the motorway then through a red light for God's sake. Every time I send a message it takes much longer than the promised five working days to reply. If your insurance company recommends Lyons Davison, I'd reconsider. I wish I'd read reviews beforehand. It seems that they're happy to let it go on and on and on without being at all proactive. Maybe I'm cynical, but the hourly rate could be a factor. Seems like they're happy to take money for old rope. It's a disgrace.
My case was handled by Kirtsy, she was fantastic! After my family solicitor informed me that they don't take people to court and having had my neighbour call the police on me and the police declaring the neighbour dispute as a civil matter, I had no choice but to take legal proceedings with Lyons Davidson. I have never had to do this before and I have trouble understanding the legal language but my experience with my solicitor (E.R.) was excellent. She was patient and took time to understand my situation and research the history of my property, things that I wasnt even aware of regarding a right-of-way dispute. She took a balanced, fair approach to case and informed me of the options available. My neighbour had started to padlock and barricade my access to the back of my property through the right-of-way access but since starting proceedings with Lyons Davidson my neighbour has now cleared away all barriers and even now moved house, so I will always be grateful to my solicitor for making him realise that legally he was wrong to act the way he did. The case was closed and we didn't even need to go to court. The weight of Lyons Davidson participation was enough to get results. Excellent.
Cant fault these guys in my opinion. These things do take time, however everything they said they would do they got organised for me. Dealt with Joe polite and professional guy. Would recommend.
What a company didn't even have the decency to let us know that court award had been put into my grandsons bank account when I phoned a lady called nadia she sounded like she'd just woke up to couldn't be arsed no apology for no correspondence and the guy they sent to be at court with me well I know what I'd like to call him but better not idiot is a word I could use hadn't got a clue about anything and didn't even know I was there I had to find him jerk!!! Wouldn't use this company as a chose car insurance put them in charge now changed car insurance for that reason WASTE OF SPACE ESPECIALLY WHO DEALT WITH MY CASE

Ref DLO/GR86/01474924/1 I was referred to Lyons Davidson by my insurer LV. The Police were considering no less than 3 motoring offence charges. I then had a long conversation with David Ollivere and then received his very detailed legal opinion of my position - both the good and the bad. My subsequent email questions were answered very promptly and did much to reduce my anxiety. In the event the police have decided not to press charges, but I am still very grateful for the support given to me in a very troubling situation.

We were unfortunately passed to this law firm through our legal expense insurance company. They firstly put a trainee on our case and after they made several serious mistakes and wasted 3 months, we were put onto a supervisor who continued to make even more errors, wasted even more time and then closed our case as they 'hadn't noticed' that they run up excessive costs! Incompetence personified! And they still got paid for a low level of service that is worthy of a revisit from the Ombudsman.
I am concerned that threatening letters are being sent out under section 152 of the Traffic Act 1988 on Lyons Davidson headed paper; these letters threaten individuals with court action within 7 days unless payment is made. No reference in the letter to the fact that it is really a dispute between insurers. When challenged, no one answered phone calls on the number provided in the letter. Not clear that there is any legal oversight of these letters. Complaint raised and I await an explanation.

Terrible. Just sick of calling my case handler and he is never there. Sending emails with no answer. No callbacks,no emails no updates, nothing! Letters that never arrive, and i have to call them to say that the letters never arrive, giving me a link for an online account that never works and having problems with my account, saying that my case was closed but apparently i had 2 accounts! Last update was in beginning of december (i called), i was told that they were busy, i don't know what that means, maybe my case it's not important! Telling me that my case would be around 3 to 6 months, im going to 7 months now. 1 month of fisio, 1 month not working for stopping on a crosswalk and getting hit from behind by another car.
This firm provided me with a faultless service, highly professional, fast and effective. I have used them for preparing a will and for buying and selling property. I cannot recommend Lyons Davidson enough for their high level of customer care.
Just appalling from start to... well, will I ever see the finish. Simple accident claim has been going on for over a year now and no end in sight. Passed from trainee paralegal to trainee paralegal who refuse to follow instruction or seek advice from a solicitor let alone a Partner. No response to emails regarding complaints procedure. I feel a letter to the Legal Ombudsman and the SRA coming on....

I recently had an RTA, the other party has admitted liability. My insurance company has recommended for Lyons Davidson to handle this case. I haven't spoken to anyone once. they keep sending me email from "Premex" for a physio appointment somewhere 100 miles from my home address. When we finally got to the bottom of it they sent me for a medical assessment which i was not impressed with. Overall i have no faith this will be handled professionally or in a timely manner. Whenever i call no one is available or they are experiencing technical difficulties. How do I complain when you dont have a direct working contact number???
One star is too much. They are THE most incompetent, irritating, unreliable, slow, dismissive, rude law firm I've ever had to deal with.
It took over a week for them to even LOOK at the correct paperwork relating to an extremely urgent matter, and we had to file a complaint to even get them to look at it in the first place, as they were looking at the wrong documents, and acting like we were crazy. They need to spend less time training their staff in NLP manipulation techniques, and more time listening.
I was in an accident last year which was non-fault and I have been ongoing treatment for this. My insurance provider (admiral) referred my case over to Lyons Davidson.
To this day I have had no contact with my solicitors, I send emails and also call on a regular basis looking for an update. Unfortunately I have never received an update.

Excellent solicitor Thoroughly recommend Natalie Blannin who dealt with our very complicated case. Directly Natalie was involved things started to happen. She kept us fully updated throughout the process and worked tirelessly to achieve justice and an outcome we were delighted with.
Well, I can see that I m not alone in thinking that the service from LD is very poor. I was involved in a rta which wasn t my fault and I was shunted from the rear. So this should have been an easy and straightforward claim, right? Well, apparently not. Firstly LD kept ringing my husband who was not in the car. It took about 5 phone calls to close his file which should not have been opened in the first place. I was asked for my NI number 5 times despite me telling them in the initial phone call and also completing my online details and also via phone (2x). From there I received a form which had shocking errors and typos!!! Half way through the form I got bored with red penning the errors! They got the other parties name wrong and despite me correcting LD, they are still referring to the other party by a wrong name. Then there was a delay in liability as LD didn t get the address for the other party. Their negotiations were none existent, I had to accept what the other party proposed! I didn t even get the mileage to and fro my physio paid for. I had to wait to a maximum waiting time for everything. I was given uncertain advise such as how to claim my mileage. I have filed a complaint which was supposed to be dealt with within 10 days - on the 10th day this was extended by another 10 days .. I m waiting for a resolution which should be tomorrow... let s see, shall we. I would not recommend this firm! I will speak to my Insurance company and seek my options in case of any other accidents, if LD is the only firm that I am able to use, then I will be leaving the insurance company! Really bad service, a straightforward claim has taken nearly 6 months to resolve.
Customer service I have experienced has been abysmal. Original case handler left the business and it took 3 months for new case handler to contact me. No updates with my case. No progress made unless I had called to chase. Accepted offer 1 month ago, should have take 15 days to process but called today and my case handler never went back to accept so I ve waited a total of 6 months. I could have saved 5.5 months of delays if I just accepted the other sides first offer directly and never dealt with Lyons Davidson. Would not recommend for a motor accident
Jess Murphy has been amazing and has successfully helped me to get the correct and fair outcome from two driving charges that were bought against me. From the moment I was put in touch with her she has been reliable, helpful and made me feel completely confident in her ability. During some of our dealings I was away on holiday and we still managed to chat and get things done despite communication issues with the internet. Unfortunately I can echo what the other reviews are saying. My dad's claim has been ongoing for about 13 months now.
Just a brief summary:
1. Lost documentation we sent TWICE which of course caused a massive delay and huge inconvenience to us. 2. After finally receiving all the required documents, it took them more than four months to even look at the documents and submit an offer to the other party's insurers, despite numerous chasers. It later transpired that the person handling the claim has left without even making the slightest of efforts to do something about the case. 3. Finally when an offer was submitted, some details that were passed on to the third party insurers were wrong which resulted in the other side refusing to compensate for losses. 4. It also seems that they do not like responding to emails as I am still awaiting a reply on my most recent chaser.
So instead of this being long behind our backs, we still have to deal with the failings of this firm to handle our case appropriately.
Although I was not able to make a claim, I was very impressed with the advice Eileen (senior solicitor) has given me. She was honest about the risks of taking on the company in question and made me aware of the small likelihood of me winning the claim. I am very grateful for this. Thank you for the time you took to explain the whole process to me carefully and for reassuring me that I am welcome to contact you again.

I have an ongoing case with Lyons & Davidson and can honestly say the service is shockingly bad!! They refuse to argue a case push you towards court so they can take 25% of your compensation which is something that unlike other law firms they don't do! from the off set the service is slow and lazy. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone mine is a simple accident at work case nearly 2 years on and my incompetent case handler can't argue the most simple of cases. I honestly think I'd have beat it by now if I was representing myself!!!!!!! They are so corrupt that I'm giving a lot of thought to logging a complaint with the legal ombudsman, and letting them investigate my case to see if they have even done half of what they should have done to argue my case.the whole place is a joke they believe that because they are solicitors they can't be touched....well they have to answer to someone and I highly doubt that you they can say or prove in my case that they have argued a stringent case on my behalf!

My mother had a car accident and Lyons Davidson have categorically failed to represent her to prove that the other party was at fault. Georgia Orfanidou was completely incompetent, insisting the blame lay with my mother when she hadn t even requested vital information from the other party s insurers. An independent inspector confirmed, in a written report requested by Lyons Davidson, that my mother was not at fault, but Georgia has wrongly informed my mothers insurance company that there is no other avenue other than to make my mother accept full responsibility for the accident as, I can only assume, she is far to incapable and bone idle to do her job properly and represent her client properly. When speaking to my mother on the phone her attitude and tone were totally unacceptable, rude and ill mannered. You have caused months of stress and anxiety to my mother, which if you had done your job properly, needn t be the case. Avoid this firm at all costs.
PLEASE do NOT use this firm. Their customer service is extremely poor and incompetent. A very unprofessional firm and there is no one you can really complain to as they just find ways of defending their extremely poor service. They really don't care about you as long as you pay fees that's all they are concerned about. They were referred to me by my Insurance company. They gave me a totally incompetent paralegal and her team leader was even worse. Save your stress and frustration - DO NOT use this firm as you just won't get anywhere and will be waiting months for them to do extremely little on your behalf. They are totally useless!!

I have recently had the pleasure of working with Jess Murphy over an alleged Road Traffic offense. Like the other reviews on here, do not use these solicitors, especially if you are taking legal action and these solicitors are on the panel of your insurer. You do normally have the option to use an alternate solicitor and I strongly recommend that you do. Being on a panel for the insurer, I am appalled by the fact that the referral from the insurer gets passed on to some paralegal (i.e. a non-legally qualified staff with limited legal experience, more akin to an office administrator) at Lyons Davidson to give a legal opinion on a matter. Absolute abhorrent. When I questioned the paralegal on whether his opinion was checked by a qualified lawyer, he gave me a name of a qualified lawyer. When I made a complaint, I was advised that the qualified lawyer was actually on leave and the opinion was supposedly checked by another lawyer who only checked the paralegal's opinion but not the whole file on which the paralegal had formed his opinion to see whether that opinion was on good ground. DO NOT USE THEM AS YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET IT.
I have had a claim going through with this company for nearly 3 years and I am still having to chase them for updates , not happy at all with the service and as far as I am concerned don't even deserve 1 star
I sent that email yesterday morning and as of now I have had no reply from anyone to acknowledge that it has been received apart from what you have put on here . This is the second time I have made a complaint now .

I have never had such a bad solicitors and how they can call them selfs that. One star out of a hundred I give them, stear away from this . If you don't then you have been warned.
Shocking!! Had to do their job for them, staff incompetent, had to write very detailed emails of where to go next as they didn t have a clue! They contradicted themselves many times! It seems that anyone wanting to instruct these solicitors using an insurance company (seems to be a trend on reviews) avoid like the plague!! My guess would be they pass these claims onto juniors who haven t a clue what they are doing and are really not interested in getting a claim, more of a fob you off attitude! No proof in what they are saying in their emails as they will not Back them up after being asked to!

Absolutely appalling company, don t go near them with the proverbial barge pole! Advice was poor and misleading, if I had just settled for what they offered I would have been out of pocket considerably.
