I'm an old guy who has lived at the the Regency for four years in October of 2014. In this time period I've gotten to know the place pretty well. When all is said and done, it's not a bad place to call home. The staff is made up of friendly people who seem anxious to be helpful in virtually any situation. I've found the housekeeping people to be reliable and trustworthy.

Staff people are clever and persistent in their efforts to generate at least some degree of activities for amusement and entertainment in the daily lives of residents.

Overall, I give the food service people good marks for courtesy and efficiency. The quality of food ranges from a usual A+ to a sometimes low "C" or even a "D" over some weekends.

Getting old is the problem, of course. Even so, it's surely the best alternative. Surely, the Regency Retirement Village is as a good a place to do that as anywhere else.

My Mom was a resident of the third floor memory care unit for 11 months. With the help of the staff, aides, and nurses on that floor she quickly adjusted to life there. She began to feel at home very soon and was content with her daily living. She was always treated with dignity. It was obvious that the staff cared about her and were kind and gentle in their approach to any issues that arose. They cared about her well-being.

They were quick to notify me if any condition needed attention. In the weeks preceding her death they were especially kind and considerate. I was especially pleased with the care given to her in the last few days of her life.

I would not hesitate to place another loved one in Regency.

I moved my mom to the Regency as an Independent resident from Michigan almost 2 years ago. The staff and residents are very friendly and helpful. Lots of positive and fun-filled activities keep her days filled with laughter and excitement. We are both enjoying our Regency experience.

My mother was a resident in the Health Care Unit (...

My mother was a resident in the Health Care Unit (nursing home) at Regency Retirement Village. Regency had 4 different executive administrators within a 4-year period, which is usually a red flag indicating poor management. I would not recommend Regency for dementia patients who are unable to monitor their own care. When my mother first moved to the health care unit, she was accustomed to using the toilet with assistance, but they would not assist her to the toilet when she asked. They expected her to use her diaper as a toilet. This was very demeaning for her. We, the family, had to regularly request that the staff provide routine personal hygiene care for my mother and we had to continually follow up on it. Some staff members were helpful, but too many of them were unfriendly and unwilling to communicate. We sometimes had to resort to contacting an administrator to get the appropriate care that my mom needed. There was a lot of staff turnover during the time that my mom was there. It seemed that they were understaffed on the weekends. Regency did not notify me of my mother s condition when she had pneumonia. She had a sore throat one day and when I called several times to check on her the next day, no one would return my calls. I finally had to drive to the facility to talk to a nurse. She said Mom had a chest x-ray done and that they would call me as soon as they got results. They did not call me and they did not look at the x-ray results until I called later in the day and requested that they do so. At that point, they decided she was sick enough to go to the hospital. We did not receive any condolences from Regency when my mom passed away.

The New Life Adventurer Club enjoyed passing out Valentine's Cards to the sick and shut-in at this facility. The STAFF and residents were very warm towards us. We hope to come back and share GOD'S LOVE Thanks to the NLADV Staff also.

My parents have been here for a couple of years. Our father passed but my mother is still here. Overall we have been very happy with the facility. Lots of caring and loving staff. If there s a problem, they usually are on top of it. My mother has found her niche here and is happy, playing bingo every day. They have lots of activities for the residents to partake in.

My mom & stepdad moved in November 2017. They have been well cared for. Whenever I had a concern it was quickly resolved by the staff. I have recommended Regency more than once to my friends for their parents. The employees really do care for the residents.

visited a good friend. His breakfast requests are ignored, even though they are on the menu. He finds gravy on all vegetables bad tasting. One evening he was sleeping and they never gave him any supper.
Some staff are very unfriendly.

First I want to state that no retirement facility is as good as your own home; however, there comes a time when one can no longer live at home and one has to move to a facility that provides more service and assistance. The Regency Retirement Village in Huntsville, AL is excellent, and I highly recommend it. In 2005, my mother moved into an assisted living apartment and then transitioned to the skilled nursing facility. My father was at Regency for 9+ years; therefore, I am well qualified to provide a review.

The staff is excellent. It starts with a strong management team. They are extremely supportive and concerned about their residents. If you have a special request and it is doable, then it will be done. Next the staff is well trained and they approach their jobs with enthusiasm. If a mistake is made, corrective action is taken to insure that it will not happen again.

The facility was recently updated and looks good. More important, it is kept very clean. There a plenty of activities for the residents. The food is good and there are always several choices. Remember, it's not home cooking.

My father passed away in December 2014. If he or the rest family had not been very satisfied with
facilities or the staff, he would have left and gone somewhere else. Staying there for 9+ years is probably the best recommendation one can give.

Putting my mother in memory care at any time would have been very stressful for us all, doubly so during a pandemic. Regency made the transition as smooth as possible, for her and for us, explaining the process, answering many questions, arranging the move and treating her (and us) with compassion, especially when we finally had to part. We made a difficult choice at a difficult time and are very thankful for the kindness and consideration of the people at Regency.

My mom-in-law has received excellent care in the assisted living area at Regency. Every staff member I've interacted with has been kind, considerate, and very prompt to respond to specific needs. Other residents have shared with me that they feel safe and well cared for at Regency. Moving out of one's home of many years, as my mom-in-law has had to do, is a difficult adjustment but the quality of care at Regency has made this an easier transition for everyone in my family.

I would not recommend Regency as a rehab facility. My 91 year old dad was a patient there. After a month of "rehab" he left there weaker than when he got there. He was admitted using a walker and left in a wheel chair. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Do NOT! I MEAN DO NOT put your love ones here! You're love one will get treated like you pay hundreds of dollars, when you actually pay thousands. I have seen it all. I've seen a resident get hit by a family member of another resident. Regency did not evict them because they are money hungry. They have under trained staff and it's one assistant to 16 clients! My mother was wet every time I visited. They have clients that are total care on the assistant living floor. I visited and none of the workers were Certified! None of the employees stay there. Can't keep residents from falling cause they don't have enough staff! They never answer the phone. I COULD GO ON, but you get the point.

The Staff in the Offices and on the Memory Floor at Regency have made a very difficult situation easier. My Mom and her husband lived on the Independent Floor and thoroughly enjoyed their apartment. It was kept clean and the personnel from Convenience Plus were very helpful with Mom and her daily care. The dining room staff were very friendly and helpful as was anyone in the building.
The maintenance staff were always helpful. We faced a difficult decision to place Mom on the Memory Floor. The staff has been extremely helpful and professional in helping my mother and our family adjust to her new surroundings. I am very picky as I am in the medical field and I could not ask for a better situation.
The Memory Floor staff care for the patients like they are family. Thank you Regency!
