Very nice hotel. May need to be updated a bit but very clean
Very lush and well maintained hotel. The river view view is a MUST see. The Creole Queen with the New Wave Jazz Band was just a small walk to get to. It was also VERY nice.
Good location, nice enough rooms, great staff. For $200 a night you would expect free WiFi and fitness access but both are extra charges.
Great hotel. Great view on the river. Streetcar stop for that hotel is closed until 2020.
We began our day by getting there at 5:30, and discovering the room had nothing but a shower. I had specifically requested a tub, as I was travelling with a one year old.. After an HOUR on the phone with Guest Services, they announced they didn't have a room in the entire hotel with a king and a tub. I hung up and called the manager, who immediately found one for me. We moved.
The bellman won't let you have a cart without using a bellman, so the bellman came and loaded our stuff from one room, to another. He left our fan (a remote controlled tower fan at that, not cheap!) which I didn't discover until we came in at 11:30 pm. I immediately called the front desk, who was supposed to call security and get back to me, as somebody had moved into the room. NEVER heard from them.
I had requested a 12pm checkout, at 8 am, housekeeping was banging on my door. Do you know how annoying it is to be able to sleep late for the first time in WEEKS and then housekeeping wake your two year old up at 8 am?? We'd just nodded back off, when at 10, security banged on the door, wanting to change the locks! Then at 11:15, housekeeping came banging again. There's also a traintrack that runs between the two buildings, and it's NOT soundproof (loew's and harrah's are, FYI). We were also by an elevator and got to hear screaming squealing kids all morning.
I went to the front desk at checkout to check on the status of my fan, and they'd never even recorded my call. I stood there for an hour, while they ran around "calling security/housekeeping".
Then they informed me that security would call me, which they did while I was at the riverwalk, and chastised me because he "couldn't hear me, go to a quiet place" and "he can't understand me, call him back."
This is the WORST hotel stay I have EVER had and we WILL NOT RETURN! What good is a hotel stay if you're stolen from, and constantly woken up??? Hilton DROPPED THE BALL! I will be doing everything I can to get my money back from this visit!!!
The room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The towels had mascara on them so we had to ask for more. I had to swipe my key card about 10 times before it finally worked to get in and out of the parking garage. Overpriced for what you get. I would not consider this a 4 star hotel.
Great hotel nice restaurants but be prepared to spend money if you eat here. River walk mall is connected to the hotel which is awesome and the trolley is less than a 2 minute walk. Easy to get around the city without a vehicle.
The WORST hotel ever. DO NOT BOOK HERE. over priced horrible dated rooms. Check in and out is super slow. Freight train is next to hotel and comes through several times in the day and night you WILL NOT SLEEP. The rooms are small, old and gross. Cleaning service doesn t come until 4 pm some days. And there is construction going on at the river walk. I recommend to stay closer to French quarter. Le meridian looked really nice and great location. I would give a ZERO star if google allowed me.
Nice environment for conferences, good location for access to french quarter etc. without actually being in it. Service is great, rooms are decent. Wish there was easier access to suites for entertaining others though.
Wonderful staff. Great room accommodations. Amazing food.
Nice, comfortable bed, quiet on the 25th floor anyway. No free breakfast, even for Gold Members.
Fancy, big facility for conferences, friendly staff, contemporary... It is a Hilton. I liked it.
At dinner at Drago's. Service was a but slow and 2 of 4 entrees were luke warm. Food also came out to be about 50 dollars per person... not the best value. The charbroiled oysters were worth every penny though
Honestly don t even waste your time and energy at the Hilton in Riverside. The service is absolutely terrible. They would not allow us to use a cart for our bags, double charged our credit cards, long waits for glasses of water and at the Drago s restaurant, employees are snarky and rude, OVER PRICED. For this price and money just go somewhere much nicer and where you are treated as an asset
Excellent hotel, friendly staff and great services.
I came here to eat at the famous Drago's. The food is perfection.
Oysters: lived up to the hype. Bartender: charming, familiar. Host: flustered, in a hurry. All in all, overpriced but high quality.
The food was great, but the service was mediocre. The server looked like she didn't want to be there. Not very appealing.
Very clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Depending on your room location there is a great view of the river. However, rooms next to the train tracks will be disturbed all night long by the train horns.
The room was clean, but the tub did not hold water. We ordered room service (a grilled cheese sandwich) and it took 45 minutes to come to the room. The staff was super friendly. Overall experience was good, but for the price, I would expect a bit more functionalalty on the technical aspects.
Restaurant was nice. I sat at the bar and the bartender was pretty knowledgeable on different drinks. Made a great Manhattan.
If I could give it no stars I would. Everything went wrong from start to finish. First day of check in, I was told to take a smaller room because they were sold out and I have to switch my room in the morning because construction was starting the next day. Day 2 I did a mobile check in. It showed one room was available at that time. I called the front desk to confirm my new room from the app. I was told room not available and App not working. I have to wait until I get a text message to say room was ready. From 11-3, I waited for a message. After waiting so long, I fell asleep in my car. Awakened by a phone call from a friend who arrived that day. They shared with me their room was ready. How is your room ready? I was told I was on the priority list for the first rooms that become available because I checked in the day before. Reaching out to the front desk again 3 hours later, I was told oh your room is ready and it been ready. They just didnt switch it over in the system. After switching the reservation over to a new one, I was alerted by my credit card that an unauthorized charge was made to my card. Why? I prepaid 2 nights in advance a month ago. They double charged me for the same hotel stay. Day 3 is check out day. While sleeping, I was awakened by a loud whistling noise then all of a sudden the air conditioning vent flew off the wall. Thankfully no one was sitting in front of it or opening the window at the time it flew off. This would have injured someone. On top of that the internet service was very poor. I would never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. For those that have already stayed check your bank statements to verify your transactions are correct.
This is an awesome place to stay! The staff was great and very helpful!!! We'll be back!!!
My wife made reservations a month in advance only to find our room had been given away by the time we got there. This despite a deposit and a valid room reservation. We arrive after a long day of delayed flights to find to that we are given a hide a bed without blankets. The irony is that this was destined to a graduation gift from the wife for completing my degree after 7 years of going to school and working. So much for the romantic getaway. Thanks Hilton.
Room was comfy and staff was nice. Got a great view of the waterfront. The food catered was tasty. Would stay here again.
Lively place right on the Mississippi. We could see boats passing from our room. Friendly staff.
Great hotel. We certainly enjoyed the convenience of this facility. The Dragos retaurant on the 1st floor is a NOLA must. Stay here eat here. The Casino is next door and all the French Quarter is only vlocks away.
Everything was excellent! The room was a little small but the view was amazing! The staff were also extremely helpful, especially Cynthia at the front desk!
Nice hotel next to the river. River walk, shops and food court are accessible without going outside. Nice seafood restaurant also inside the hotel. Two Starbucks also inside. Some things are pricey.
It was a very enjoyable experience. Had breakfast in La Crescenta and it was wonderful the buffets perfect as everything you want. I had a recommend this place
I was extremely disappointed at my recent stay. I payed over $900 for three nights of poor service and letdowns. Arrived on Thursday evening at 6pm to find that they had given our room we requested away because "we did not arrive at 3". After coming home from dinner and drinks on Friday evening we had only scalding hot water. They sent someone up who took the entire shower apart and was unable to fix it until late in the morning, leaving us unable to take a shower. We asked the front desk to send up some water so we could at least brush our teeth and wash our faces, and they tried to charge us $20 for two bottles of water! They also tried to make us pay $10/day for each of us to use the gym and we were also supposed to get WiFi with the room and I had to haggle the front desk and go over all of my paperwork so she could have just as easily given me the password over the phone. Overall this is my worst hotel experience I have ever had. I thought the Hilton had a reputation for being elite....I guess times have changed.
The fastest and easiest hotel checkin I've ever had. The girl was extremely pleasant and fast. Thank you! It's been a long day of travel.. so nice for something to get done quickly.
Called an hour before arrival to confirm our rooms. Arrived to check in, waited 45 minutes and was told our rooms were given away. Thanks for the free sofa beds! I d rather pay full price for the rooms we booked.
Good location, looks updated, very nice, reasonable price
I appreciated the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the convenient, central location. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to visit during our 4 day stay.
I stayed a weekend recently at this hotel and aside from the awesome staff, I can t say I d return. Reason being is because the cleanliness of the hotel was very poor.
We checked in to a room in building 3 and as soon as I entered the room I checked the bathroom.
Hair was in the sink and a red substance was on the tub floor.
Everything else seemed fine until about 2-3 hours later. I was lying in bed and discovered a BUG in it(alive). Called down to have it checked out and it was confirmed BED BUGS.
We were told we d be given another room which was great, but before we left the room we were in we checked to make sure we weren t leaving anything, well turns out there was old food (not ours) and drinks in the fridge! So it seemed as though they gave us a room that wasn t really even cleaned prior.
We finally get to the new room on the other side of the hotel and low and behold my comforter had stains on it like something had been recently spilled on it.
Needless to say I won t be going back to that Hilton or any other Hilton for that matter.
Loved the staff though they were very nice and welcoming:)
Great hotel. Gorgeous views of the river and the city.
Nice accommodations with friendly, courteous staff. We stayed Halloween weekend to attend the Voodoo Music and Arts Festival. When purchasing the Festival package it indicated that the Festival would just be out our door steps. Unfortunately we were approximately 20 blocks from the festival, as most other hotels were.
Great hotel! geat restaurant in the lobby and the best part was the view!
Could be updated. The bathroom plumbing and lights aren t the best. But location is great.
Hotel is in a great location. Close to many great restaurants and shopping.
The staff was very nice and very helpful about how to get around New Orleans. All the restaurants inside the hotel were super convenient. Overall great location!
Mold in the shower, mice run rampant, room service was quoted at a 2 hour wait. Uncomfortable beds and stained carpets. Never stay here.
Have stay before was better the first time around house did not clean the room at all left that morning expecting a fresh room was the same way we left it
Conveniently located near everything! Helpful staff and clean room!
Staff was nice and very courteous even on a very busy holiday weekend. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a drink at the speak-easy themed bar - drinks were made well and generous. We had the breakfast buffet each morning and the wait staff was attentive and kind. The $25 price tag was a bit steep and was the only downside. We had the chargrilled oysters at the restaurant and they were DELICIOUS!!! I could have eaten 12 more!! The concierge, Stephen, was helpful and every restaurant given was excellent. The hotel was convenient to the convention center and the Quarter - we would definitely stay here again.
This Hilton location is really nice. It is also moderately expensive. But my room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and I had air conditioning. I also had access to WiFi (which is free if you sign up for Hilton rewards - also free). There was a big TV, a desk and a wonderful view of the city and the river. The walls were a little thin and I could hear people coming and going but it wasn't too distracting. The mini fridge had a whine to it so I unplugged it. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great place to stay as I explored the city!
Great place to stay for Mardi Gras. Not far from Bourbon Street
Super confusing routes and hallways. Otherwise the ballrooms are gorgeous and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful.
Had a nice stay. Room had no microwave to heat up our left overs but at least had a fridge.. courteous staff. Parking was way to expensive... $44 for self park for 1 night
I was only here for a conference. The conference rooms were great and the catering was spectacular.
Good service, nice clean hotel, good breakfast buffet, nice room.
We ate dinner at Drago's inside the Hilton Riverside. It was great. The charbroiled oysters were phenomenal.
The amenities and rooms are typical of a nicer hotel, but still very nice. The staff however, is what made the stay excellent. As a group, they are friendly, helpful and beyond proficient at their job.
This my favorite hotel in New Orleans. Stayed here as a little girl and now take my daughter. The hotel has great room service. Upgrading to the executive suites at least once is worth it! Breakfast and hors d'oeuvres with a view of the city or the mississippi. Its across thr street from Harahs casino too. Short walk to Canal street and you can walk along the river to the french quarter/market. If you dont like walking you shouldnt go to New Orleans. Love the city and love the hotel
Attending a conference. Thankful they had free WiFi for the conference attendees. The rooms were all set up great and they kept the water full and trash empty. Restrooms were also plentiful and kept clean. The location is great, near the Riverwalk and the French Quarter.
Great stay in the heart of New Orleans. Walking distance to everything!
This is an OK hotel, but with some significant drawbacks.
PROs
The location is good. It's pretty close to the French Quarter in one direction and about a 7-block walk to the Convention Center in the other. Also, if your room is high enough and facing the right direction, you'll have a pretty good view (of the Mississippi and surround areas). I was on the 13th floor, which was adequate; lower wouldn't have been good. The room I was in (a supposed "deluxe" with a king) was perhaps slightly smaller than the average room, but reasonable-sized. I didn't eat at any of the restaurants, so I can't comment on them. But there were a number of places to eat. Though I've seen mixed reviews here, the staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful.
Check-in was fairly efficient. And check-out--which I did on my TV--went smoothly. The elevators arrived promptly.
CONs
The layout of the hotel is very confusing, especially if you're there for a meeting. You enter on the first floor, but the lobby and main level is on the second. There are also meeting rooms on both the second and third floor. Then there's a passageway over to the adjoining structure on the river, with its entirely different layout of rooms. Bottom line: You need to know which floor you're on, and which building you're in, and be prepared for some unusual layouts.
Some rooms border the railroad tracks. Mine was one, though being up 13 floors provided a buffer. Still, it can be pretty loud when a freight train rumbles past.
The housekeeping quality was terrible. A small piece of a candy wrapper (about the size of your little finger) remained undisturbed on a table for 3 days. A Q-tip under a chair (I don't know how it got there) also remained undisturbed for 3 days. The first night I was there, I got some ice for ice water. The next day, the melted ice hadn't been thrown out and the dirty glass remained on the dresser.
Great location and wonderful rooms. Also, the staff was helpful and curtious. Slow and old elevators need to get upgraded, but not a deal breaker.
Great views, good location, busy, and comfortable rooms.
Quick easy check-in and a good place in the center of all attractions
Beautiful hotel, nice big comfy room. Connected to mall on River. Problems during check in, but super nice after that issue was resolved. Dragos restaurant is amazing.
We parked here and were mostly passing through. Parking was easy (except a very low clearance bar upon entering) and there was ample parking available. The lines had been recently repainted in the garage however, the old lines on our level (4) were also visible which made it confusing for us & others in the garage (as we wintessed many cars outside the newer lines). The hotel is very spacious and well-decorated. We found the common areas to look very clean. The ladies bathroom we entered on the 2nd floor was a little untidy and had a slight odor but supplies (soap, toilet paper, and paper towels) were well-stocked. There seemed to be various conventions taking place so the hotel was busy. It was quite easy to maneuver around the hotel despite it's size. Overall I feel it warranted 4 stars out of five as most everything was nice.
Very beautiful hotel and staff members were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Room was clean and very nice. Close to the riverwalk shopping. I loved my stay there!
Nice hotel but staff unable to handle busy rush in a quick and organized manner.
Nice room. Not much of a view though. Right next to shopping mall and river. That was convenient. Also Harrah's casino across the street.
We have stayed here before when in New Orleans. It was very enjoyable, and within walking distance of many kinds of entertainment . The hotel staff very friendly, accommodating and we had a great stay!
GREAT Customer Service!!! They Took Very Good Care Of Us
Great restaurants near this hotel making it a great place to stay.
Our room is nice and the staff is very accommodating. The views are lovely. I'm not sure what more you could ask for in a hotel. We will definitely stay here again.
From lake Charles we evacuated here and the staff is awesome, the view is awesome. I just want to thank everyone at the Hilton, that's that Louisiana hospitality
Go to Drago and have some oysters. I cant say much about the rooms because i didnt stay there but the restaurant is well worth the trip.
Great accommodations, convenient to convention center.
It wasn't convenient as it was hosting the conference I was attending. It was also within walking distance of several restaurants I wanted to visit. The room was clean and comfortable.
Food at the restaurant was amazing. Meal was large enough to split between 2 people. Ended up eating there for lunch and dinner on the same day.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, the room is new and spacious. The location is an easy walk from the busy French Quarter and is attached the outlet and cruise ship terminal.
