He was not able to provide me with what I needed, but instead of just ending the call, he continued to ask me several questions and explain all my options. I really liked that even though he was not making any money, he was taking the time to help me solve my problem. If I do need computer repair, this is where I would go!!!

We were having trouble using our new laptop because Windows 8 is too confusing. George in the MLK store reconfigured the laptop to make the user interface look like Windows 7. It took 10 minutes and he didn't charge us anything! We will definitely be back. Unbelievably good service

Today is the forth time HHC has come to my rescue. Marc has been a total GEM - !! I couldn't not rate these folks higher... They have wonderful hands-on service with no attitude or technical jargon and wonderful rates - most of the time, not even charging me for a quick fix (which always astounds me)!

While trying to fix a WiFi problem, I stupidly let a 3rd party service have remote access to our PC. When "John" was finished, the PC would operate only in Safe Mode. Then I did what I should have done in the first place. I took the PC to Happy Hamster where we bought it. Lucas Miller was able to restore normal function in about 15 minutes. We highly recommend Happy Hamster for sales or service of your computer needs.

Went in today to the location on MLK and Graham because my AC Adapter for my HP dv6 laptop decided to quit on me yesterday. Spoke with Lucas on the phone first and when I walked in he immediately greeted me. It took him not even 10 minutes to diagnose the problem and got me the new part of the chord that I needed which saved me from spending $70+ on an entire chord. Couldn't have gone any better in my head, I even was able to get to work on time after. Great little experience at the Happy Hamster, I'd recommend it to any one of my friends.

I've come to Happy Hamster a couple of times for computer issues, and have always had excellent service. However, this last time they completely blew me out of the water!! I went in with a bunch of ads and pop-ups and malware on my computer, as well as problems connecting to the internet.Lucas greeted me warmly upon arrival, and George patiently sat down with computer-illiterate me for almost an hour to get the issues resolved. He walked me through every single thing he needed to do to my laptop, showed me how to fix certain things on my own, and helped get rid of all of the popups and bad virus-things that had somehow loaded themselves on my computer. It's all running smoothly now!! The best part (besides the unwavering patience, the awesome hospitality, and helping get my computer up and running safely!!)...they didn't charge me a dime. I am an extremely happy customer (they are the happy hamsters, I am the happy customer) at Happy Hamster. I have visited them on numerous occasions, and have always been met with friendly assistance and a willingness to go the extra 5,280 feet to give tender loving care to my various distressed computers, together with outstanding advice, especially important for us (...dare I say it?...) "citizens in the second half of life". How these things called computers work (or don't work) is way beyond my pay-grade, so the Helpful Friendly Happy Hamsters are much needed and much appreciated and very inexpensive as well. I would single out Lucas Miller, the store manager, for special kudos: he has always been full of advice and gives me much more time than I deserve. I am sure all the other Hamsters are equally resourceful and friendly, but I want to give special thanks to Lucas. WB

Attractive, clean shop with very friendly, fast service. I took a brand-new laptop in for a fix, hoping to avoid 6-week warranty service. It turned out to be a manufacturing defect they weren't able to correct (back to the vendor it goes), but they gave me a very fair deal on their time trying to fix it, and some credit that I'll use in furbishing up my old machine. The turnaround was less than 24 hours, with prompt and clear followup.

But here's the thing: really nice, NON-CONDESCENDING service. As a woman over 50 who actually knows her way around computers, I wish I didn't have to be delighted to find respect in that world, but at least I DID find it at Happy Hamster. That is no small thing. It's great to have them available right here in NE Portland.

I came in wanting to see if anything could be done for my laptop which wasn't booting up. The area is very clean, and set up neatly with new laptops and large monitors. I was helped by Lucas who was very friendly and quickly performed a few tests to make sure of what the problem was. He was upfront about the pricing of trying to repair my destroyed harddrive and even recommended against paying for it to get repaired as the laptop is likely to fail again. After performing the tests and giving me the diagnosis, Lucas didn't charge me anything for his time. I definitely recommend Happy Hamster Computer Repair, you won't be disappointed!

I walked into the Happy Hamster to ask if someone there could replace an old, broken keyboard (a really big dog chasing a cat trashed most of the keys) with a new keyboard that I had already purchased. After having watched a YouTube demo that was supposed to tell me how to this so easily, I gave up in frustration and went for the first time to The Happy Hamster, never having been there before. They were also recommended by an Office Depot tech.

To make a long story short, the Happy Hamster folks not only swapped out the keyboards, but also - unbelievably - did not charge for their service. While I was shocked and kept offering to pay, they would not accept money. What a blessing to get my laptop back working and as a free gift!

I will definitely use their services again and The Happy Hamster has another Happy Customer!

Today I came in with a computer problem (user error) and Lucas fixed it. I have patronized Happy Hamster a few times before and always found the staff to be courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. They do expert work at reasonable rates. I will come back with any future computer issues. In fact, I plan on buying my next system from HH.

I love, love, *love* the whole crew at Happy Hamster! I first took Maud (my laptop) in to them back in February, as she desperately needed a new fan & a new battery. My laptop is an older, rebranded custom-built pc (that I originally bought in PA) so she's rather difficult to find parts for. They managed to track down the one little factory in China that still made the fan. Talk about service! :-D Knowing I was on a limited budget, they were even honest enough to tell me that certain other parts weren't going to be cost-effective to replace.

A week or so ago, Maud wouldn't boot up all of a sudden. Once again, I took her to the Hampsters to get her checked out. Apparently, she just missed the guys because she booted right up for Misa. He proceeded to do their 10 Minute *free* diagnostic (Free! Imagine that!) & got rid of some bloatware that was slowing my laptop down & she's been running better since.

Once I've saved up a bit, I'll be heading back to Happy Hamster for a new desktop & laptop. I cannot recommend Happy Hamster highly enough!

Walked in with my PC and a bad power supply. 15 minutes later I walked out with my PC and a replaced power supply. This place is great, you really shouldn't consider going anywhere else.

Had an excellent experience here, very relaxed yet attentive service. They were quickly able to identify a laptop hard drive failure and replace it with a better hard drive at a reasonable price, far less than that of replacing the computer. They were communicative about the process. I will go there the next time I need this type of service.

Came in stressed out with a bunch of gunk accidentally downloaded on my computer. Thought it was going to be an expensive fix and take forever. Not the case. We experienced some type of problem with our HP desktop, and Windows would not start. Took the tower to Happy Hamster and they clearly explained what the steps would be to either repair it (software issues), or tell me it wasn't worth the money to repair it (hardware issues).

They kept it for a couple of days and then called me to tell me that luckily it was a software problem. They told me it would be done the next day, and it was. I went down to pick it up.

When I got home, I couldn't get it to recognize our wireless network, and I could not load MS Office. I called them and they told me to bring it back the next morning. I did, and they took care of both problems within an hour.

I brought in a laptop that would not connect to wireless. I had spent several hours downloading drivers etc to no avail. Within 10 minutes Lucas and Paul had found the issue in some obscure corner of the BIOS, where it was checked "disabled" Up and running with out a charge. I have used Happy Hamster computer service for several years. I cannot say enough praise about how generous they are with their information, service, and how they deal with me. Many times, when I've had a small issue, they have fixed it from their office and not charged me. When techs came to my house, they were courteous, fast, and fair with their charges.

My computer stopped working and I needed it for a presentation I was leaving for on the East Coast in less then 3 hours. Misa was able to identify the issue at hand and get my computer back working in less then 45 minutes. To say I was relieved was an understatement. Since purchasing my HP computer 3 years ago I have always taken it to Happy Hamster. Recently my computer was running slow and I decided to take it the MLK location. Roman Kuchinskiy greeted me when I walked in the door, within 20 minutes I was walking out with my computer. I really needed two very small mounting screws in order to mount a wifi card in my Mac Pro. Apple wouldn't sell me the screws and nowhere in Portland would help me find the appropriate screws... until I found Happy Hamster that is! These guys had me bring my computer in and they tried various screws until they found some that fit. Even more, they gave them to me for free and sent me on my way! These guys rock and definately deserve your business!

You will never find a computer store that can exceed the quality of repair they provide. Customers will find honesty and distinctive character of each and every person that is there to assist you. I bought a PC from this local outfit ~ 5 years ago, and whenever I have a problem, I call or stop by and they have always been extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. I stopped by this Saturday and although there were only 2 staff working, they were able to keep everyone moving along and helped all with aplomb. It was great to just watch them interact with the other customers while I was waiting. They LOVE what they do. I was in and out in an hour with a boatload of viruses removed. I am so glad this local resource is available!!

I had been calling computer places all day. I got the same thing every time either no one answered the phone, or yeah we got that tiny little plastic piece you need that will be ten bucks, oh you dont like that price then order it Ebay (rude). Not the guys at Happy Hamster.Even though they dont deal in used parts much they went out of there way to see if they could help me out. When I asked so how much you getting for one of thos. He replied oh on something like that free of charge, they even had it waiting up front for me. I dont care if they can't solve my problem or don't have the part I need. They were so professional and helpful I will call them first every time.

I drove all the way from Wilsonville after a brief phone call with George (one of the senior technicians), who helped me figure out what exactly I needed, to go to this store to pick up a small part for a PC build that I have been working on recently. Once I arrived I was greeted by Kyle (another senior technician working that day) who remembered hearing about the phone call and went to retrieve my part. Both employees were *super* helpful and the whole experience was totally pain-free. I have already recommended the place to several of my friends who are looking for odd parts to supplement their own builds and would recommend it to anybody else who asks.

Well, I just got back from having Lucas (921 SE 7th) work his magic on my laptop. What a pleasant experience. It's not for nothing that these guys get so many great reviews. Now don't let Lucas' initial appearance (he looks like a college freshman) fool you. This young man has some heavy duty experience. He is to computers as Merlin was to potions! And, in setting my fevered brain at ease, he was considerably better than a psychiatrist! The kind of down-home cordiality you find on A Prairie Home Companion! All over and done with in less than thirty minutes, and the laptop behaves in the manner of a dog that has just come back from a run in the yard - frisky - up-'n'-at-'em - just tickled to do ones bidding. Well! What are you gonna do about it?! Get on down there!

These guys are the best! A few years ago, I had a cracked screen on my laptop... Best Buy told me it would take two weeks to fix and cost $800 (the laptop was probably worth half that). I took it to the Hamsters and they fixed it in half an hour for $75. When it came time to buy a new machine, I went back to them, and they set me up with a bullet-proof hp laptop... all metal shell, easy access removable back plate. It has bounced around planes, trains, buses, automobiles and motorcycles all over the world, and still works like a champ three years on. A few days ago I brought it in for a quick check up in preparation for a trip to SE Asia. Misa de-bugged it, cleaned out all the dirt and gunk from the keyboard and the guts, helped me figure out how to undo a couple of things I shouldn't have done to begin with, and sent me on my way, no wait, no charge! Who does that?! I couldn't recommend Happy Hamster more strongly. I've sent everyone I know who needed a new machine or repairs to them, and the feedback is unanimously positive. Big props to Misa, Lucas and the rest of the crew!
